The Impacts of Research and Development Expenditures on Values of U.S. High-Tech Firms (미국 High-Tech 기업의 연구개발 지출이 기업가치에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper empirically studies the relationship between R&D expenditures and firms value. First, we can conjecture that R&D expenditures are enhancing the firms value. Such findings depend on an existing research, which R&D expenditures are intangible asset rather than expenses. Although, under U.S. accounting standards, financial statements do not report intangible assets but costs. Second, we can conjecture that short-term, the rate of increase in R&D expenditures had negative influence on firms valuation, because such findings indicates that R&D spending of costs incur mis-pricing. But long-term, consistently R&D expenditures may attract investors on the stock market. Third, lately firms focus on capital efficiency management, such a firms R&D expenditures incur high ROE. Generally investors put too much confidence in capital efficiency management and high ROE may attract investors on the stock market. Finally, High-Tech through the R&D investment improve firms competitive advantage, by competitive advantage, firms have reduced cost and raised productivity in the end improve firms value.

The Effect of the Consumers' Residential Satisfaction and Investment Value on the Purchase Intention (소비자의 주거만족도와 투자가치가 매입의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relation between the housing value and residential satisfaction, housing' investment value, and also the effect the purchase intention. Recently it has been argued that the consumers' investment value can have influence on the housing market, however it is extremely rare to find research market. Through this study, influencing relationship on how the factors of housing value can affect the residential satisfaction and investment value is figured out. Last, in order to analysis the influencing relationship of purchase intention, the questionnaire for residents were conducted. The analysis is done based on 585 significant research materials gathered from the questionnaires. For analysis methodology, this research is using SPSS 21.0, AMOS 18.0, along with analytic techniques, such as implementation of basic statistical analysis, reliability, and structural analysis. Following is the results summary of the research: First, results of a factor analysis extracted four factors of housing value: residential quality factor, economic factor, brand factor, accessibility factor. Second, we find from the residential quality, brand of the housing value were statistically effect of the residential satisfaction and investment value. Finally, residential satisfaction and investment value had a positive influence on purchase intention. The result indicates the housing buyers' positive investment value and residential satisfaction increase the purchase intention in housing market. The better the housing buyers' investment value on the real estate market, the higher the market activity.

A Study on the Development of a Scale for Family Value of East Asia (동아시아의 가족가치 비교 척도 개발에 대한 연구)

  • This study aims to develop a scale to capture various components of the family value and apply for comparative study of the family value of East Asian countries. Through literature review and experts consults, 27 preliminary questions of the East Asian family value were developed. A total of 3,000 people of East Asia countries(Korea, China, Japan) aged 20~59 were responded to the questionnaire. For validating the family scale developed, an explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis were conducted. The results were as follows. Two of the 27 questions were deleted because those questions were found to have high correlation with other questions. Through the exploratory factor analysis 5 factors composed of 15 items -post-modern family value, traditional family value, confucian family value, instrumental family value and gender equality family value-were extracted and confirmed the factors with confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis. The results revealed that the family value scale was appropriate for measuring various family values in East Asian countries and would contribute to the development of Asian family theory. However, this scale can not cover all the family values and further studies would be needed to confirm the validity of the family value scale.

  • This research provides the point of view by operating SPSS(14.0) about effective management and marketing focusing on customer by comparing and analyzing the effect which affects loyalty for the dental clinic and the rapport occurring when the dental worker communicates affirmatively with customers. The data was gathered from 300 customers visiting to a private dental clinic through the self-administered questionnaire in Jinju, Gyeng-nam. The communication(.017) and value property(.006) of service provider affects the rapport significantly. Last, the trust(.000), value property(.023) and the rapport(.000) affect the loyalty-a result variable-significantly.

Development of SW Program Assesment Indicator for SW Education in Elementary and Middle School (초·중학교 SW교육을 위한 프로그래밍 평가지표 개발)

  • In this paper, I developed a assesment indicator to evaluate SW program developed by students in SW education. The SW education carry out in elementary school, middle school and high school from 2016. But the assesment indicator to evaluate SW program had not been developed until now. Therefore, I tried to develop the assesment indicator that have harmoniously educational characteristic and SW qualitative characteristic. First of all, I had set the 15 attributes for assesment and developed the 36 criteria for 15 attributes. And the validity of 15 attributes and 36 criteria for assesment had been reviewed by 39 SW educational experts. As a result, the 15 attributes and 36 criteria for assesment were determined to which that have validity. I expect that the assesment indicator developed in this paper will raise the reliability of evaluation in SW education. And the assesment indicator may be used at SW competition conference for teenagers.

  • We suggest a new way of specifying the co-evolution of product and process technologies, and integrating it into one of the well-received technology intelligence tools - a technology radar. Cross impact analysis enables us to identify the core technologies of product-process co-evolution. Combining expert judgment with its results, we can clarify the technological co-evolution trajectory with mainstream as well as emerging core technologies. Reflecting these in the assessment process of a technology radar, we could improve reliance of the technology assessment process and technology portfolio. From the academic perspective, our research provides a point where the co-evolution theory encouners technology intelligence methods. Practically, strategic capability of future-preparedness and strategic management could improve by adopting our method based on our example of co-evolution of semiconductor product and process technologies.

The Study of Korean-style Leadership (The Great Cause?Oriented and Confidence-Oriented Leadership) (대의와 신뢰 중시의 한국형 리더십 연구)

  • This research analyzes some Korean historical figures and presents the core values of their leaderships so that we can bring up the theory of leadership which would be compatible with the current circumstances around Korea. Through this work, we expected that we would not only find out typical examples among historical leaders but also reaffirm our identities in our history. As a result of the research, it was possible to classify some figures in history into several patterns and discover their archetypal qualities. Those qualities were 'transform(實事)', 'challenge(決死)', 'energize(風流)', 'create(創案)', and 'envision(開新)' respectively. Among the qualities, this research concentrated on the quality of 'challenge', exclusively 'death-defying spirit'. This spirit is the one with which historical leaders could sacrifice their lives for their great causes. This research selected twelve figures as incarnations of death-defying spirit, who are Gyebaek(階伯), Ganggamchan(姜邯贊), Euljimundeok(乙支文德), Choeyoung(崔瑩),ChungMongju(鄭夢周), Seongsammun (成三問), Yisunsin(李舜臣), Gwakjaewoo(郭再祐), Choeikhyeon(崔益鉉), Anjunggeun(安重根), Yunbonggil(尹奉吉), Yijun(李儁). Through analyzing their core values and abilities and categorizing some historical cases into four spheres such as a private sphere, relations sphere, a community sphere, and a society sphere, we came to find a certain element in common among those figures. It was that they eventually took the lead by showing the goal and the ideal to their people at all times. Moreover, their goals were always not only obvious but also unwavering. In the second chapter, I described the core value in a private sphere, so called '志靑靑'. It implies that a leader should set his ultimate goal and then try to attain it with an unyielding will. Obvious self-confidence and unfailing self-creed are core values in a private sphere. In the third chapter, I described the core value in a relative sphere, the relationship between one and others. It is '守信結義'. It indicates that a leader should win confidence from others by discharging his duties in the relation with others. Confidence is the highest leveled affection to others. Thus, mutual reliance should be based on truthful sincerity and affection toward others. Stubbornness and strictness are needed not to be prompted by pity simultaneously. In the fourth chapter, I described the core value in a community sphere. It is '丹心合力'. For this value, what are required to a leader are both his community spirit and his loyalty to one's community. Moreover, the strong sense of responsibility and the attitude of taking an initiative among others are also required. Thus, it can be said that the great power to conduct the community is so called fine teamwork. What's more, the attitude of the leader can exert a great influence on his community. In the fifth chapter, I described the core value of death defying spirit in the society sphere. This value might be more definite and explicit than other ones described above. A leader should prepare willingly for one's death to fulfill his great duties. 'What to do' is more important for a leader than 'how to do'. That is to say, a leader should always do righteous things. Efficiency is nothing but one of his interests. A leader must be the one who behaves himself always according to righteousness. Unless a leader's behaviors are based on righteousness, it is absolutely impossible that a leader exerts his leadership toward people very efficiently. Thus, it can be said that a true leader is the one not only who is of morality and but also who tries to fulfill his duties.

Estimating Damage Cost of Dust-Sand Storm in Korea (황사로 인한 피해비용 추정)

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate the total damage cost (i.e., individual welfare loss) due to dust-sand storm (DSS) in Korea, using contingent valuation method. CV market scenario is designed to elicit individual WTP for reducing the currently 14 days of average DSS per year by 50 percent. Question about the shares of various types of damage costs are directly asked after the respondent answered about his or her WTP in CV questionnaire. The yearly damage cost due to DSS is 29,510 won(95% C.I. 24,565~35,452won) in the case of an individual, therefore amounts to 444.1 billion won(95% C.I. 407.3~481.0 billion won) for the whole nation. The cost of amenity reduction counted as 33.8% is 150.1 billion won(95% C.I. 137.7~162.6 billion won); the cost of increase in morbidity counted as 36.6% amounts to 162.5 billion won(95% C.I. 149.1~176.0 billion won); the cost of averting behaviors counted as 14.5% is 64.4 billion won(95% C.I. 59.1~69.7 billion won); and the cost of car wash, activity restriction and so on, which was counted as 15.1%, amounts to 67.1 billion won(95% C.I. 61.5~72.6 billion won).

Do Users Always Trust More when Blog Posts are Related to the Blog's Theme?: The Degree of Relevance and Its Effect on Message Credibility (블로그의 포스트가 블로그의 테마와 관련이 있을 때 항상 더 사용자의 신뢰를 받는가?: 관련성의 정도가 메시지 신뢰성에 미치는 영향)

  • When people try to find restaurant information via search engine results, they look at posts not only from sites with solely restaurant reviews but also from sites with restaurant unrelated contents. This study aims to investigate whether relevance between post and blog type affects users' trust toward a review. This study also attempts to check if the above effects interact with age. We designed a restaurant review post for two different blogs: one featuring restaurant review and another that does not feature restaurant reviews. After our participants visited one restaurant review post, they answered our questionnaire. We conducted an online survey on 206 participants to test our research model. Results show that 1) the effect of relevance between post and blog type on message credibility, which is users' trust toward restaurant reviews, is not greater when posts are consistent with the theme of a blog. 2) Among users who are over 30 years old, relevance between post and blog type moderates the relationship between media skepticism, which is users' feeling of mistrust toward blog, and belief in expertise, that is, users' belief that the review post provides sufficient restaurant information. 3) Users' perceived value of the restaurant review post mediates the relationship between users' belief in the expertise in a post and users' intention to seek additional information.

Study on UX Satisfaction Index According to Types of Mobile Commerce Services (모바일 커머스 서비스의 유형별 UX 만족도 지표 연구)

  • The objectives of this research is to compare UX elements influencing the satisfaction of users in Korea and North America according to product types of mobile commerce services, to determine UX INDEX suitable for each type of service, and to derive positively influencing UI factors through analyzing the relationship between UX INDEX and UX design detail factors. This research showed that there was difference in perceived reliability according to selling product types and there was difference in both perceived usefulness and reliability according to users in Korea and North America. Also, this research found out that, in analysis of relationship between UX INDEX and UX design detail factors, UI factors to understand a service structure generally showed close relationship but factors such as troubleshooting and help showed difference between users in Korea and users in North America.
