Strategy for Paid Digital Contents after the Advent of N-screen Era: Focused on News-contents Business Models of Foreign Newspaper Companies (N-스크린 환경 도래에 따른 디지털 콘텐츠 유료화 전략 : 해외 신문사의 뉴스 콘텐츠 사업 모델을 중심으로)

  • The study investigated the N-Screen strategies of paid digital contents of foreign newspapers belonging to advanced companies: USA, United Kingdom, and Japan. This research employed the time to launch paid digital content business, whether or not to segment market, and 4p marketing mix strategies for analyzing the strategies. The results show that the strategies, starting around the year 2000, had experience chasm, and then revived since the year 2010, when the penetration rate of mobile devices proliferated. Most newspapers still supply contents under the assumption that they paly in a mass market. The items of paid digital contents are mainly composed of e-paper and digital contents. Regarding the price strategy, soft paywall and combination paywall are largely used. Distribution strategy is subject to whether or not to discriminate the path of digital contents. As for promotion strategy, bundling strategy with newspaper is mostly utilized. The difference between western countries and Japan was found in term of the free trial service.

  • The information delivery and transmission media(DID or PID) market is making remarkable growth as the high-speed networks are spreading and LCD/LED TVs are more and more popularized, and display devices are increasingly large and high-definition. In addition, the popularization of smart devices and the expansion of the information delivery and transmission media market make a demand for N-Screen in content service. Colleges and universities have installed and operated various types of DID to promote their schools and departments and deliver information about them, still remaining in the level of media content implementation. So, we implement and evaluate a next-generation electronic bulletin board for each department that allows for interactive N-Screen communication based on the integration of smart phone and internet. This board enhanced efficiency as supporting N-Screen, inserting and deleting the contents at real time and offering bidirectional communication.

  • There are lots of limits on preventing illegal transaction of digital contents by existing DRM(Digital Right Management) methods because of illegal download and share of contents, which is resulted from advanced information technologies, development of cloud services, and smart instruments. In the other hand, the number of creators based on one person, in the area of music, webtoon, digital magazine and video, is increasing. As a result, it is needed that the necessities of digital contents transaction under the condition of convenience and efficiency through licence and management of contents to protect copyright of contents and to increase the transaction of digital contents. Therefore how to promote the transaction of digital contents should be studied by way of research analysis of contents market through interviewing experts in business.

  • This article focuses on synthetic hormone consumption that illegal act of heterogeneous forms of pharmaceuticalization. Athletes are not unfamiliar with the use of synthetic hormones that contain anabolic steroids. Synthetic hormones are used to increase muscle mass and strength. This drug use practice cannot simply be viewed as illegal. Athletes accumulate knowledge on these hormones that conflicts with the knowledge proffered by physicians and they consume drugs responsibly. Physicians' knowledge of these hormones is limited to their use in the treatment of abnormalities. Athletes, however, are expanding the role of these hormones to include their potential for enhancement. Thereby, a new value is assigned to synthetic hormones, and an informal market is formed. Previous studies in the fields of biopolitics and biomedicalization have mainly focused on the formal connection between biomedical science and the institutional network. This article, therefore, analyzes the informal and the various aspects of biomedicalization.

  • Gartner mentioned IoT (Internet of Things) as one of the ten growth engines in the world in 2014. In addition, IoT has been frequently invited as a theme by participants at CES held in the early this year. Gartner predicts that the number of devices connected will reach to 26 billion and a total of economic value added will grow to 1.9 trillion dollars until 2020. The definition of IoT has been arranged in a different way by each institution. Therefore, this study arranged the concept of IoT which has been variously defined and used together with M2M and IoE. Further, forecasts presented by research institutions which stated domestic and foreign market outlook were collected and arranged. As IoT is on the uptrend and is selected as one of the ten growth engines in the world, it was found out how policies on IoT in the US, China, Japan and Korea were established and promoted as well as how recent strategies on IoT of major large companies have been carried out. Lastly, the following countermeasures of our government and companies were discussed.

  • The demand of wireless communication system is increasing due to the development of computers and other digital media appliances. In particular, new wireless communication technology is necessary for implementation of home network since a lot of data transmission is occurred. Recently, two wireless communication technologies, Ultra Wide Band(UWB) and 60GHz band wireless communication technology, have being developed for high-speed data transmission and Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). In this paper, we study the present development condition of these two technologies and a role of them in home network. We also suggest the method to implement the home network using all wireless communication technologies. At the end, we outlook the market of WPAN and High Definition Multimedia Interface(HDMI).

  • Currently many people are awfully concerned about smart device in domestic and foreign mobile market. The need of smart device has been rapidly increased. Unlike a feature phone smart devices provide us with an intuitive interface which is easy to control. They are enable to smoothly interact between user and device. Though higher market outlook, there is a lack of empirical research on user interface in touch screen based on smart device. In this paper, we propose the touch interface conceptual model concentrating on user based on the result of previous research. Materials of this research are three kinds of smart devices which are currently released. Through expert's depth interview and observation of user, user's cognitive actions in smart device are defined. Since the method of the touch interface which is suitable for the action has been derived, we have proposed the conceptual model of user's cognitive action. This research imply to offer the excellent design guideline in order to implement touch interface to optimize user experience in touch screen based on smart device to release in the future.

  • 에너지요금의 인상이 잇따르고 있는 가운데‘이란발 쇼크’로 국제유가가 최근 가파른 상승세다. 하루 석유생산량이 390만 배럴로 석유수출국기구(OPEC) 중 사우디아라비아에 이어 두 번째로 큰 산유국 이란. 이 나라의 핵 개발을 둘러싼 국제적인 갈등이 원유공급 감소로 이어질 것이란 우려 때문이다. 미국을 비롯한 EU, 중국, 러시아가 이란 핵의 안보리 회부에 합의한데 따른 시장급변 상황에서 초래됐다. 여기에다 OPEC 회원국들이 지난달 31일 오스트리아 빈에서 열린 정례회의에서 하루 2800만 배럴인 현행 산유량 수준을 고수하기로 합의한 데 따른 파급도 있다. 중동지역의 지정학적인 위기로 인한 수급불안 우려가 해소되지 않고 있는데다 특히 OPEC의 증산 여력이 소진된 상태라는 관측 때문에 유가불안이 고조되고 있는 것이다. 2월초 현재 3월 인도분 서부 텍사스산 원유인 WTI는 배럴당 70달러에 육박하고 있다. 영국 런던 원유시장의 북해산 브렌트유 역시 덩달아 오름세이다. 우리나라에서 주로 수입하고 있는 중동산 두바이유 역시 마찬가지이다. 브렌트나 두바이유도 배럴당 같은 60달러 선이다. 유가 강세는 지난해 가을 허리케인 카트리나의 미국 남동부 강타로 대다수 석유시설이 파괴돼 수급난이 초래돼 WTI 기준 배럴당 한때 80달러에 육박한 이래 하락세를 보이다 이번에 다시 가파른 오름세로 돌아선 것이다.전문가들은 이 같은 유가의 가파른 돌변상황을 심각하게 받아들이고 있다. 1980년 5월 WTI 기준 최고치인 94달러까지 치솟아 오일쇼크를 유발한 국제유가. 이 즈음을 정점으로 내림세로 돌아서 걸프전90~91)으로 반짝 배럴당 50달러에 머문 적이 있다. 이를 제외하곤 1986년부터 2004년까진 10~30달러 선에서 비교적 안정세를 보이다 이후 미국의 이라크 침공을 기점으로 급상승세를 타고 왔다. 지난해 최고 80달러에까지 육박한 국제유가는 하향안정세에서 배럴당 60달러 선에서 등락을 거듭하고 있다. 이 수준도 턱없이 높은 것이다. 이 같은 고유가의 파고가 최근 들어 더욱 심상치 않다는 게 전문가들의 공통된 시각이다. 이번에‘이란발 오일쇼크’가 급습하는 것이 아닌가 하는 우려감마저 갖고 있다. 세계경제 회복세에 발목을 잡을 수도 있다고 보고 있다.본지는 이 같은 고유가의 파고를 넘는 첩경으로 저소비·고효율 기기를 앞으로는 시리즈로 소개한다.

  • 디지털 홈 시대의 도약으로 가정용 TV의 기능과 그 역할이 확대되면서 Digital TV(DTV)가 새로운 가전기기의 하나로 등장하게 되었다. DTV를 통한 디지털 데이터 방송뿐 아니라 웹 컨텐츠의 다양한 활용이 가능하게 되면서 기존의 PC 환경과는 다른 DTV 환경에 적합한 새로운 컨텐츠 표현 규격이 필요해졌다. 이에 다수의 디지털 데이터 방송 표준 단체들이 DTV를 위한 디지털 데이터 방송용 컨텐츠 표현 규격을 제시하고 있고, DTV가 등장하기 이전부터 TV와 웹의 접목 기술을 위한 W3C의 활동도 있어왔다. 또한 양방향 TV 서비스 또는 웹 TV 서비스를 제공하는 방법으로 자체적인 컨텐츠 표현 규격을 정의하고 브라우저 등의 프로그램을 통해서 시청자들에게 TV에 특화된 다양한 웹 컨텐츠를 제공하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재까지 제시되어 온 DTV 또는 TV환경을 위한 컨텐츠 표현 규격들을 다양한 관점에서 비교 검토해보고자 한다. 또한 DTV가 가지는 특징들을 살펴봄으로써 TV와 다르고 또한 PC와도 다른 DTV만의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 컨텐츠 표현 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통해서 DTV 시장 활성화의 선두 위치에 있는 국내에서 DTV 용 컨텐츠의 표현 규격에 대한 보완 및 발전 방향을 숙고하고, 세계적으로도 앞서가는 인터넷 서비스 시장이 DTV를 통해서 안방에서 보다 효율적이고 간편한 방법으로 다양한 계층의 사용자에게로 확대될 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 한다.

  • This study is for the design developement of wall mount air purification device used for pleasant and clean resident environment. As more people have the high standard of living, they are interested in the air quality of indoor environment, since it is believed its relationship with human health. Now the social demand of air purifier is increasing. Its market is growing and there are various design products in the market. However, dominant current products are floor-based standing type, it needs much spaces to install for the air inhalation and exhaust. Therefore, this product provides the space-saved design. Its concept comes from existing wall mount type air conditioners. The effect of wall decoration is another merit of this proposal. It has an easy filtering change and cleaning system and a simple operation of multiple functions. This product also has the perfect-matched slim design that is consist of natural curves with rectangle for any indoor spaces.
