Analysis on Characteristics of South Korean Senior Consumers' Needs: With Maslow's 7-Levels of Needs Hierarchy (한국 시니어 소비자의 욕구 특성 분석: 매슬로우의 욕구위계 이론을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the needs and characteristics of Korean senior consumers. To this end, the factors of Maslow's seven-levels of needs hierarchy were re-established and applied to suit the actual situation in Korea. For analysis, an online survey was conducted on 440 adults (50-75 years old), who are considered active seniors living in Korea, on the factors of 7-levels of needs and demographic characteristics. The study found that the 7-levels needs of Korean senior consumers were derived in a different order from Maslow's. Other diverse theoretical and practical implications were also presented.

  • In order to improve the quality of consumption in senior generation, it is necessary to build trust in the digital consumption environment. However, there are limitations from previous researches on consumption in the digital environment that has mainly focused on Millennial and Z generations. Therefore, this study aims to examine the antecedents of digital consumption trust and to explore the market segments of senior generation created by the dynamics of these antecedents. In addition, in order to provide practical implications, we investigate the difference in the level of perceived digital consumption trust using segmentation. This study, therefore, used 2021 Korea's consumer life index data conducted by the Korea Consumer Agency for general consumers, and only consumer data of 60s and older are extracted for the analysis. As a result, we confirm from the main results that the three antecedents, consumer competency, perceived corporate responsibility, and local community's problem-solving environment, are significant in building the digital consumption trust in the senior generation. It is academically significant in this aspect to look at approaches to improve senior customers' trust in digital consumption circumstances by dividing generations because generations exhibit varying levels of understanding of online consumption or digital consumption conditions. 고령친화 AI음성 O2O 서비스의 서비스가치가 태도와 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • 한국은 2025년 전체 인구 중 65세 이상 인구가 20%을 상회하는 초고령 사회 진입이 전망되면서 노화수준에 맞는 고령친화적인 제품서비스 공급이 요구된다. 특히 시니어 소비자가 사용하기 편리한 인터페이스를 갖춘 서비스가 필요하다. 이에 시니어들은 노화(aging)에 대한 문제의식에 비용을 지불하며 젊은 소비자들과 유사한 소비행태를 보이고, 노화 수준별 건강 유지 및 건강 불안, 돌봄 공백, 사회적 고립 증가 등 사회문제가 복합적으로 심화되면서 고령친화적인 스마트한 Aging Service 공급이 요구된다. 이러한 시기와 맞물려 with코로나시대 시니어 소비자가 사용하기 편리한 인터페이스를 갖는 제품·서비스로 4차 산업혁명의 중심인 AI(Artificial Intelligence)와 정보통신 기술의 노력이 가시화되고 있다. 따라서 IT 기술에 덧입혀 시니어들의 욕구에 부합하는 AI 음성인식 기능을 탑재한 제품 및 서비스가 향후 고령친화산업 성장을 주도할 것으로 전망된다. 이에 본 연구는 '고령친화 AI 음성 O2O 서비스'의 서비스 가치가 태도와 이용의도에 영향을 미치는가를 분석하기 위해 선행이론을 토대로 전문가 델파이 방법을 통해 고령친화 AI 음성 O2O 서비스의 정의를 도출하고 실증분석으로 '고령친화 AI 음성 O2O 서비스'의 서비스가치(상황기반 제공성, 즉시연결성, 위치정확성)와 태도 및 이용의도간의 인과관계를 조사하기 위해 본 연구를 진행하였다.

  • 우리나라의 고령인구 수가 점점 늘어남에 따라 시니어 식품산업에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 고령친화산업에 대한 연구는 "고령친화산업진흥법"이 제정된 2006년 이후 본격화되어 시니어 소비자, 의류, 금융 등 분야에서 연구되고 있으나, 시니어 식품산업에 대한 산업구조분석 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 미래 유망 성장 산업으로 기대되는 시니어 식품산업에 대해 마이클포터의 5 forces model을 적용하여 경쟁자를 파악하고, VRIO분석을 통해 내부자원을 분석하여 실질적인 시니어 식품산업의 경쟁력을 제고할 수 있는 전략을 도출하고자 한다. 이는 향후 관련 산업의 경제적 가치와 수요에 영향을 미치는 요인, 기업 내부 역량별 시장성 분석 등을 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 것이다.

Active Senior Contents Trend Analysis using LDA Topic Modeling (LDA 토픽 모델링을 이용한 액티브 시니어 콘텐츠 트렌드 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and trends of active senior. As the baby boom generation become the age of the elderly, they are more active than senior. These seniors are called active seniors, a new consumer group. Many countries and companies are also interested in providing relevant policies and services, but there is lack of researches on active senior trends. This study collects the 8,740 posts related to active seniors on social media from January 1st, 2018 to June 31st, 2021, and conducted keyword frequency analysis, TF-IDF analysis and LDA topic modeling. Through LDA topic modeling, topics are classified into 10 categories: lifestyle, benefits, shopping, government business, government education, health, society and economy, care industry, silver housing, leisure. The results of this study can be utilized as fundamental data to help understand the academic and industrial aspects of active senior.

  • 급속한 디지털 기술 발전에 따른 비대면 서비스의 증가로 고령층의 정보 접근성 문제가 대두되었다. 본 연구는 고령층의 편리한 키오스크 사용을 위해 AI 기술과 사용자 인터페이스를 결합한 '시니어 키오스크'를 제안한다. '시니어 키오스크'는 딥러닝 기술을 이용한 연령대 인식을 바탕으로 고령층을 분류하고 고령층 소비자에게 직관적이고 가독성 높은 시니어 UI를 제공한다. 또한, 자연어처리 기술을 활용한 음성 주문을 통해 편리한 주문을 돕는다. 본 연구에서 제안된 '시니어 키오스크'를 통해 고령층의 편리성 증진과 정보격차 해소를 달성할 수 있다.

  • In this study, we have looked into the cellular phone consumption behavior of seniors who are 50-65 years old because of the prediction that senior cellular phone market will be expanded. Therefore, we made up a questionnaire which is based on theoretical study about silver consumer and marketing, and we also analyzed main features and differences of senior and active senior after split by lifestyle analysis. Through the analysis result, we found out the practical approaching way for the items that seniors' dissatisfaction was high and inquired whether it's possible turning into interface's direct input system or not. As a result, we discovered the change of a pattern of behavior by the increase of seniors's experience, differences of consumption behavior factors by lifestyle, and the possibility of market value of new interface.

  • This study aims to empirically analyze the effect of CRM on the management performance of senior club market type senior job business. The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the economic income creation of senior club market type senior job project. The results of this study are as follows: First, as a result of verifying the difference in management performance according to sociodemographic characteristics, there was a difference in age, academic background, and monthly average income. Second, the contact service and communication of senior club market type senior job business had a positive effect on the management performance. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are made. First, the database(DB) should be constructed reflecting the personal characteristics of consumers and the big data and artificial intelligence analysis should be utilized. Second, education using Internet environment such as YouTube and ZOOM should be strengthened and communication management should be strengthened based on information collected through customer monitoring.

Continuance Use Intention of Kiosk Services: The Mediating Role of Satisfaction (외식업체 키오스크의 지속 이용 의도에 대한 연구: 만족도의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • In the food market, kiosks are rapidly expanding. The kiosk improves the in-store consumer experience and economic prosperity of businesses. This research explores the continuance use intention of kiosks via a post-acceptance model with four antecedent variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, confirmation, and satisfaction. An online survey was conducted with 420 senior consumers, aged 50-70, who have experienced kiosk services. This study used SPSS 25.0 for descriptive analysis and Amos 23.0 for confirmatory factor anlysis, structural equation analysis, and mediate the effect of the bootstrapping method. The following results were obtained. First, perceived usefulness and confirmation significantly influenced satisfaction with kiosks. Second, perceived usefulness and satisfaction significantly influenced continuance use intention. Third, satisfaction mediated the relationship between perceived usefulness and continuance use intention. Fourth, satisfaction mediated the relationship between confirmation and continuance use intention. These findings enhanced the understanding of seniors' attitude and response to kiosk services.

Predicting Kiosk Discontinuance (키오스크 이용 중단 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study explores the discountinued use intention of kiosk, applying integration model with technology acceptance and theory of planned behavior. An online survey was conducted with 420 senior consumers aged 50-70. This research used SPSS 25.0 for descriptive, t-test, correlation, and regression analysis. Theses results are as follows. First, perceived usefulness, perceived control and satisfaction were higher among male group than female group. Second, perceived usefulness, affective inertia and behavior inertia were significantly influenced the discountined use intention of kiosk in male group. Third, perceived control, behavior inertia and cognitive inertia were significantly influenced the discountined use intention of kiosk in female group. These results enhance understanding of seniors' attitude and negative response to kiosk.
