Optical signal amplification property in photorefractive Cu-KNSBN crystal (광굴절 Cu-KNSBN 결정에서의 광신호 증폭 특성)

  • SBN, BSKNN KNSBN 등의 tungsten-bronze 계열에 속하는 광굴절 결정은 짧은 파장에서 좋은 감광도와 빠른 응답시간을 갖는다. 이중에서도 KNSBN 결정은 큰 크기의 결정 성장 및 도핑이 용이하고 광굴절 결정에서 중요한 특성 중 하나인 열 안정성(thermal stability)이 좋기 때문에 빠른 응답특성이 요구되는 응용분야에서 촉망받는 매질이다. 본 논문에서는 광정보저장, 광정보처리, 광컴퓨터, 광통신과 같은 다양한 분야에서 응용가능성을 가지는 Cu가 0.04wt.%도핑된 5mm$\times$5mm$\times$5mm 크기의 KNSBN 결정을 이용한 광신호의 증폭기술에 대하여 연구하였다. 먼저 Cu-KNSNB 결정의 2광파 결합 특성을 분석하기 위하여, 기록 파장에 따른 지수이득계수의 외부입사각의존성, 최대 지수이득계수를 나타내는 외부입사각에서 입사빔의 세기비에 따른 2광파 결합 이득을 측정하였다. 또한, 632.8nm파장 영역에서 기록 및 삭제시간 상수, 회절 효율의 입사빔 세기비 의존성을 측정하였다. 그리고, 음향-광학 변조기(AOM: acousto-optic modulator)에 의해 진폭 변조된 신호빔을 이용하여 광신호 증폭특성을 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하였다. 이때 두 빔의 입사각은 최대 지수이득계수를 나타내는 입사반각 12$^{\circ}$로 고정하고, 감쇄기를 이용하여 신호빔의 세기를 조절하면서 신호빔의 차동이득을 측정하였다. 투과된 신호빔은 같은 주파수에서 차동 이득(diffrerential gain)을 보였으며, 이는 moving grating과 시간-변조된 신호빔(또는 펌프빔)사이의 새로운 상호작용은 광굴절 결정의 시간 적분 특성에 의한 것이다. (중략) 경우는 상온에서 펌프 펄스의 유지시간이 0.5% 인 경우 레이저가 동작하는 것을 보여주었다. 이는 구조내에서 열전도가 문제가 된다는 것을 의미하는데 위아래가 공기로 둘러 싸여 있어 발생한 열이 가는 유전체 네트웍을 통해서만 전달 될 수 있기 때문이다. (중략)$^4$A$_2$에 의한 nophonon line R$_1$, R$_2$(680.4, 678.5 nm) 및 $^2$T$_1$$\longrightarrow$$^4$A$_2$(655.7, 649.3, 645.2 nm)의 형광방출 스펙트럼을 얻었으며, 형광수명은 0.264 ms로 조사되었다. 제조된 레이저 발진봉은 직경 6.3 m, 길이 45 nm이었다.\pm$0.06kHz Ge $F_4$; -1.84$\pm$0.04kHz$0.04kHz/TEX>0.04kHz 모국어 및 관련 외국어의 음운규칙만 알면 어느 학습대상 외국어에라도 적용할 수 있는 보편성을 지니는 것으로 사료된다.없다. 그렇다면 겹의문사를 [-wh]의리를 지 닌 의문사의 병렬로 분석할 수 없다. 예를 들어 누구누구를 [주구-이-ν가] [누구누구-이- ν가]로부터 생성되었다고 볼 수 없다. 그러므로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\ulcorner 본 논문에서는 표면적 형태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$ elements)로 가정한다.

A Non-consecutive Cloth Draping Simulation Algorithm using Conjugate Harmonic Functions (켤레조화함수를 이용한 비순차적 의류 주름 모사 알고리즘)

  • This article describes a simplified mathematical model and the relevant numerical algorithm to simulate the draped cloth on virtual human body. The proposed algorithm incorporates an elliptical, or non-consecutive, method to simulate the cloth wrinkles on moving bodies without resorting to the result of the past time-steps of drape simulation. A global-local analysis technique was employed to decompose the drape of cloths into the global deformation and the local wrinkles that will be superposed linearly The global deformation is determined directly by the rotation and the translation of body parts to generate a wrinkle-free yet globally deformed shape of cloth. The local wrinkles are calculated by solving simple elliptical equations based on the orthogonality between conjugate harmonic functions representing the wrinkle amplitude and the direction of wrinkles. The proposed method requires no interpolative time frames even for discontinuous body postures. Standing away from the incremental approach of time integration in conventional methods, the proposed method yields a remarkable reduction of CPU time and an enhanced stability. Also, the transient motion of cloth could be achieved by interpolating between the deformations corresponding to each static posture.

Development of a Probabilistic Model for the Estimation of Yearly Workable Wave Condition Period for Offshore Operations - Centering on the Sea off the Ulsan Harbor (해상작업 가능기간 산정을 위한 확률모형 개발 - 울산항 전면 해역을 중심으로)

  • In this study, a probabilistic model for the estimation of yearly workable wave condition period for offshore operations is developed. In doing so, we first hindcast the significant wave heights and peak periods off the Ulsan every hour from 2003.1.1 to 2017.12.31 based on the meteorological data by JMA (Japan Meterological Agency) and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), and SWAN. Then, we proceed to derive the long term significant wave height distribution from the simulated time series using a least square method. It was shown that the agreements are more remarkable in the distribution in line with the Modified Glukhovskiy Distribution than in the three parameters Weibull distribution which has been preferred in the literature. In an effort to develop a more comprehensive probabilistic model for the estimation of yearly workable wave condition period for offshore operations, wave height distribution over the 15 years with individual waves occurring within the unit simulation period (1 hour) being fully taken into account is also derived based on the Borgman Convolution Integral. It is shown that the coefficients of the Modified Glukhovskiy distribution are $A_p=15.92$, $H_p=4.374m$, ${\kappa}_p=1.824$, and the yearly workable wave condition period for offshore work is estimated to be 319 days when a threshold wave height for offshore work is $H_S=1.5m$. In search of a way to validate the probabilistic model derived in this study, we also carry out the wave by wave analysis of the entire time series of numerically simulated significant wave heights over the 15 years to collect every duration periods of waves the height of which are surpassing the threshold height which has been reported to be $H_S=1.5m$ in the field practice in South Korea. It turns out that the average duration period is 45.5 days from 2003 to 2017, which is very close to 46 days from the probabilistic model derived in this study.

Generalization of Integration Methods for Complex Inelastic Constitutive Equations with State Variables (상태변수를 갖는 비탄성 구성식 적분법의 일반화)

  • The prediction of the inelastic behavior of the structure is an essential part of reliability assessment procedure, because most of the failures are induced by the inelastic deformation, such as creep and plastic deformation. During decades, there has been much progress in understanding of the inelastic behavior of the materials and a lot of inelastic constitutive equations have been developed. These equations consist of the definition of inelastic strain and the evolution of the state variables introduced to quantify the irreversible processes occurred in the material. With respect to the definition of the inelastic strain, the inelastic constitutive models can be categorized into elastoplastic model, unified viscoplastic model and separated viscoplastic model and the different integration methods have been applied to each category. In the present investigation, the generalized integration method applicable for various types of constitutive equations is developed and implemented into ABAQUS by means of UMAT subroutine. The solution of the non-linear system of algebraic equations arising from time discretization with the generalized midpoint rule is determined using line-search technique in combination with Newton method. The strategy to control the time increment for the improvement of the accuracy of the numerical integration is proposed. Several numerical examples are considered to demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the present method. A Route Search of Urban Traffic Network using Fuzzy Non-Additive Control (퍼지 비가법 제어를 이용한 도시 교통망의 경로 탐색)

  • This paper shows alternative route search and preference route search for the traffic route search, and proposes the use of the fuzzy non-additive controller by the application of AHP(analytic hierarchy process). It is different from classical route search and notices thinking method of human. Appraisal element, weight of route is extracted from basic of the opinion gathering for the driving expert and example of route model was used for the finding of practice utility. Model evaluation was performed attribute membership function making of estimate element, estimate value setting, weight define by the AHP, non additive presentation of weight according to $\lambda$-fuzzy measure and Choquet fuzzy integral. Finally, alternative route search was possible to real time traffic route search for the well variable traffic environment, and preference route search showed reflection of traffic route search disposition for the driver individual. This paper has five important meaning. (1)The approach is similar to the driver's route selection decision process. (2)The approach is able to control of route appraisal criteria for the multiple attribute. (3)The approach makes subjective judgement objective by a non additive. (4)The approach shows dynamic route search for the alternative route search. (5)The approach is able to consider characteristics of individual drivers attributed for the preference route search.

Performance Analysis of Noncoherent OOK UWB Transceiver for LR-WPAN (저속 WPAN용 비동기 OOK 방식 UWB 송수신기 성능 분석)

  • IEEE802.15.4a, which is started to realize the PHY layer including high precision ranging/positioning and low data rate communication functions, requires a simple and low power consumable transceiver architecture. To satisfy this requirements, the simple noncoherent on-off keying (OOK) UWB transceiver with the parallel energy window banks (PEWB) giving high precision signal processing interface is proposed. The flexibility of the proposed system in multipath fading channel environments is acquired with the pulse and bit repetition method. To analyze the bit error rate (BER) performance of this proposed system, a noise model in receiver is derived with commonly used random variable distribution, chi-square. BER of $10^{-5}$ under the line-of-sight (LOS) residential channel is achieved with the integration time of 32 ns and signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 15.3 dB. For the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) outdoor channel, the integration time of 72 ns and SNR of 16.2 dB are needed. The integrated energy to total received energy (IRR) for the best BER performance is about $86\%$.

A Numerical Simulation of Three- Dimensional Nonlinear Free surface Flows (3차원 비선형 자유표면 유동의 수치해석)

  • In this paper, a semi-Lagrangian method is used to solve the nonlinear hydrodynamics of a three-dimensional body beneath the free surface in the time domain. The boundary value problem is solved by using the boundary integral method. The geometries of the body and the free surface are represented by the curved panels. The surfaces are discretized into the small surface elements using a bi-cubic B-spline algorithm. The boundary values of $\phi$ and $\frac{\partial{\phi}}{\partial{n}}$ are assumed to be bilinear on the subdivided surface. The singular part proportional to $\frac{1}{R}$ are subtracted off and are integrated analytically in the calculation of the induced potential by singularities. The far field flow away from the body is represented by a dipole at the origin of the coordinate system. The Runge-Kutta 4-th order algorithm is employed in the time stepping scheme. The three-dimensional form of the integral equation and the boundary conditions for the time derivative of the potential Is derived. By using these formulas, the free surface shape and the equations of motion are calculated simultaneously. The free surface shape and fille forces acting on a body oscillating sinusoidally with large amplitude are calculated and compared with published results. Nonlinear effects on a body near the free surface are investigated.

Analysis and Measurement of the Magnetic Fields Cause by Operation of Electromotive Installations (전동력설비의 운전에 의해 발생되는 자계의 측정과 해석)

  • The paper describes the variation of magnetic fields caused by the operation of induction motors. The measuring system consists of the self-integrating magnetic field sensor, amplifier, and active integrator. From the calibration experiments, the frequency bandwidth of the magnetic field measuring system ranges from 20[Hz] to 300[kHz] and sensitivity is 0.234(mV/$\mu\textrm{T}$]. The magnetic fields generated under steady state and starting operations of duction motor are recorded by the proposed measuring system, and the fast Fourier transformation(FFT) of the measured data is performed to analyze the harmonic components. A single pulsed magnetic field is strongly caused by direct starting the induction motor, and its peak value is greater than 5 times as compared with the steady state value. The long transient duration and high intensity originates from the large inductance and dynamic characteristic of the induction motor, During the steady state operation of induction motor, subharmonics of magnetic field components, which depend on the pole number of induction motor, are observed. The lower order power-line harmonics can be inferred from the voltage flicker and current ripple which are derived from the torque fluctuation of induction motor. In the case of the induction motor drived by inverter, the harmonics of magnetic field are much more than those caused by direct starting method and are found generally to increase with decreasing the driving frequency.

Real-Time Vehicle License Plate Recognition System Using Adaptive Heuristic Segmentation Algorithm (적응 휴리스틱 분할 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 차량 번호판 인식 시스템)

  • The LPR(License plate recognition) system has been developed to efficient control for complex traffic environment and currently be used in many places. However, because of light, noise, background changes, environmental changes, damaged plate, it only works limited environment, so it is difficult to use in real-time. This paper presents a heuristic segmentation algorithm for robust to noise and illumination changes and introduce a real-time license plate recognition system using it. In first step, We detect the plate utilized Haar-like feature and Adaboost. This method is possible to rapid detection used integral image and cascade structure. Second step, we determine the type of license plate with adaptive histogram equalization, bilateral filtering for denoise and segment accurate character based on adaptive threshold, pixel projection and associated with the prior knowledge. The last step is character recognition that used histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) and multi-layer perceptron(MLP) for number recognition and support vector machine(SVM) for number and Korean character classifier respectively. The experimental results show license plate detection rate of 94.29%, license plate false alarm rate of 2.94%. In character segmentation method, character hit rate is 97.23% and character false alarm rate is 1.37%. And in character recognition, the average character recognition rate is 98.38%. Total average running time in our proposed method is 140ms. It is possible to be real-time system with efficiency and robustness.

Digitalization of the Nuclear Steam Generator Level Control System (증기발생기 수위조절 시스템의 디지탈화)

  • The safe and efficient operation of nuclear plants is recognized to be accomplished through the application of plant automation using digital technology, which is one of main targets of the next generation nuclear plants. For plant level automation, it is first required that each major subsystem be digitalized, and the steam generator water level control system is discussed in this study. The transfer functions between inputs and the level are derived by employing the thermal hydraulic model of the steam generator and are applied to the analysis of the current three-element control system. Since the control scheme in this study includes the steam generator itself as a process plant, the system order is high and the numerical instability arises in digitalizing. Together with this, the unreliability of the feedwater feedback signal at low power level leads to the proposal of a two-element control system with a proper digital controller. The digital PI controller developed for this system has the initial power adaptive gain and integration time constant. And it makes the overall system response satisfy the stability and other necessary control specifications simultaneously. Since the two-element control system using this controller depends on the initial power only, it is simple to define and it shows a similar level response behavior to that of its corresponding analog system.
