The PSC box bridge constructed of concrete, reinforcing bar and tendon is a complex structure that exhibits tension cracks, nonlinear behaviour of steel and time dependent behaviour of concrete. The frame element is commonly used for construction stage analysis PSC bridges. However, the frame element does not show sufficient information when in the curved PSC box bridges. For the case of curved PSC bridges, the deformations in the inner and outer web are different. In this case, different jacking forces are required in the inner and outer webs. However, it is impossible to calculate different jacking forces if we use the frame element for construction stage analysis. In order to overcome this problem, the use of the shell element is essential for a three-dimensional construction stage analysis of PSC bridges. In the following, the formulation of a Quasi-conforming shell element and its application of PSC box girder bridge analysis are presented.

The advanced development in many fields of engineering and science has caused much interests and demands for crashworthiness and non-linear dynamic transient analysis of structure response. Crash and impact problems have a dominant characteristic of large deformation with material plasticity for short time scales. The structural material shows strain rate-dependent behaviors in those cases. Conventional rate-independent constitutive equations used in the general purposed finite analysis programs are inadequate for dynamic finite strain problems. In this paper, a rate-dependent constitutive equation for elastic-plastic material is developed. The plastic stretch rate is modeled based on slip model with dislocation velocity and its density so that there is neither yielding condition, nor loading conditions. Non-linear hardening rule is also introduced for finite strain. Material constants of present constitutive equation are determined by experimental data of mild steel, and the constitutive equation is applied to uniaxile tension loading.

The alternative material for cement has been attracting attention in construction projects. Especially, the alkali activated slag(hereafter, AAS) concrete is able to use for a structural vertical member because of 40MPa of compressive strength, However, the research about time-dependent deformation such as creep which is important to strength member is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, experiments were performed with respect to time-dependent deformation including the drying shrinkage and creep deformation of AAS concrete. The creep deformed ratio of AAS concrete was more than OPC concrete by approximately 4.3% and the dry shrinkage deformation of AAS concrete was more than OPC concrete by approximately 69%. The large amount of sodium silicate, alkali activator, is added causing temperature crack than promoted drying and drying creep which is confirmed by water ration test and SEM.
The reasonable prediction of time-dependent deformation of prestressed concrete(PSC) box girder bridges is very important for accurate construction as well as good serviceability. The long-term behavior is mostly influenced by the probabilistic characteristic of creep and shrinkage. This paper presents a method of statistical analysis and sensitivity analysis of creep and shrinkage effects in PSC box been taken into account - model uncertainty, parameter variation and environmental condition. The statistical and sensitivity analyses are performed by using the numerical simulation of Latin Hypercube sampling. For each sample, the time-dependent structural analysis is performed to produce response data, which are then statistically analyzed. The probabilistic prediction of the confidence limits on long-term effects of creep and shrinkage is then expressed. Three measure are examined to quantify the sensitivity of the outputs of each of the input variables. These are rank correlation coefficient(RCC), partical rank correlation coefficient(PRCC) and standardiozed rank regression coefficient(SRRC) computed on the ranks of the observations. Three creep and shrinkage models - i. e., ACI model. CEB-FIP model and the model in Korea Highway Bridge Specification - are studied. The creep model uncertainy factor and the relative humidity appear to be the most dominant factors with regard to the model output uncertainty.

In the present study, pure RHO zeolite was hydrothermally synthesized by using 18-crown-6 ether as a structure directing agent(SDA), and the small gases adsorption was investigated. Synthesized RHO zeolite was a cube shape particle of which average edge length was around $1.2{\mu}m$ and composed of primary crystallites having a diameter of around 100 to 200 nm. RHO zeolite structure was stable under 3h calcination at $600^{\circ}C$. Water adsorption data announced that RHO zeolite has a specific surface area of 483.32 m2/g and its micropore diameter was about 4 A. Gas adsorption was studied in the pressure range of 50 to 500 kPa for $CO_2$, $N_2$, $O_2$ and $H_2$. It was evident that RHO zeolite showed a strong $CO_2$ adsorption behavior. Especially, RHO zeolite showed a transient $CO_2$ adsorption behavior. The 3h $CO_2$ up-take at 50 kPa and 500 kPa was 1.283 and 3.357 mmol/g, respectively. The $CO_2/H_2$ selectivity was around 16 at 500 kPa. Compared with gas adsorption data for some representative microporous adsorbents, it was certain that RHO zeolite is a beneficial adsorbent for $CO_2/H_2$ separation.

A study for the nonlinear analysis method of flexural behavior of concrete girders strengthened with unbonded prestressed CFRP plates is presented. The concrete girders strengthened with unbonded prestressed CFRP plates exhibit more complex nonlinear behavior due to the slip between the concrete girder and the CFRP plates than the case of bonded CFRP plates. The unbonded CFRP plate is modeled as an assemblage of the curved elements both ends of which are rigidly linked to the nodes of fibered frame elements. The slip effect of the unbonded CFRP plate is taken into account using the force equilibrium relationship at each node. To evaluate the validity and the capability of the proposed analysis method, the ultimate analysis results of the concrete beams strengthened with unbonded prestressed CFRP plate are compared with the experimental results obtained from other investigators. The proposed analysis method is found to predict ultimate behaviors of these beams fairly well. Additionally the time-dependent deformations of the concrete beam seems to have little influence on the ultimate behaviors of concrete beams strengthened with unbonded prestressed CFRP plate, and the cracks of the concrete beam which occurred before strengthening it with CFRP plate are found to have almost no influence on the ultimate capacity of the beam.
The carbonate sands of the Sabkha layer in the Middle East have very low shear strength. Therefore, instant settlement and time-dependent secondary settlement occur when inner voids are exposed, as in the case of particle crushing. We analyzed settlement of the Sabkha layer under a large-scale foundation by hydrotesting, and compared the field test results with the results of laboratory tests. With ongoing particle crushing, we observed the following stress-strain behaviors: strain-hardening (Sabkha GL-1.5 m), strain-perfect (Sabkha GL-7.0 m), and strain-softening (Sabkha GL-7.5 m). General shear failure occurred most frequently in dense sand and firm ground. Although the stress-strain behavior of Sabkha layer carbonate sand that of strain-softening, the particle crushing strength was low compared with the strain-hardening and strain-perfect behaviors. The stress-strain behaviors differ between carbonate sand and quartz sand. If the relative density of quartz sand is increased, the shear strength is also increased. Continuous secondary compression settlement occurred during the hydrotests, after the dissipation of porewater pressure. Particle crushing strength is relatively low in the Sabkha layer and its stress-strain behavior is strain-softening or strain-perfect. The particle crushing effect is dominant factor affecting foundation settlement in the Sabkha layer.

This study finds the characteristics of long-term settlement of Bottom Ash and to review the application of Singh-Mitchell creep equation and Burgers Model to the creep behavior of Bottom Ash. In the undrained state, it was confirmed that creep behavior appeared in the range to 30-80 % of the maximum deviator stress by applying condition in other three stresses through triaxial compression test after isotropically consolidation. By using sieve analysis, it was compared to each sample that was passed through 9.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.25 mm sieves. Also, using Singh-Mitchell creep equation and Burgers Model, it was compared between the theoretical behavior and the observed behavior for each sample. In the result, it is found that creep behavior of Bottom Ash is similar to the theoretical behavior of Singh-Mitchell creep equation and Burgers Model in early stage and it is possible to predict creep behavior of Bottom Ash by these models.
To effectively manage flood risk, it is crucial to assess the stability of flood defense structures like levees under extreme flood conditions. This study focuses on the time-dependent probabilistic assessment of embankment slope stability when subjected to rapid water level drops. We integrate seepage analysis results from finite element analysis with slope stability analysis and employ Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the time-dependent behavior of the slope during rapid drawdown. The resulting probability of failure is used to develop fragility curves for the levee slope. Notably, the probability of slope failure remains low up to a specific water level, sharply increasing beyond that threshold. Furthermore, the fragility curves are strongly influenced by the rate of drawdown, which is determined through hydraulic analysis based on flood scenarios. Climate change has a significant impact on the stability of the water-side slope of the embankment due to water level fluctuations.
This paper presents the numerical investigation for the hydraulic behavior of a fractured rock mass with a hydromechanical interaction which may be considered during the in-situ hydraulic injection test. These experiments consist in a series of flow meter injection tests for fractures existing along an open hole section installed in a borehole, and experimental results are applied for testing a numerical model developed to the analysis and prediction of such hydromechanical interactions. Field experimental results show that conductive fractures form a dynamic and interdependent network, that individual fractures cannot be adequately modeled as independent systems, that new fluid intaking zones generate when pore pressure exceeds the minimum principal stress magnitude in that borehole, and that pore pressures much larger than this minimum stress can be further supported by the circulated fractures. In this study, these characteristics are investigated numerically how to influence the morphology of the natural fracture network in a rock mass by using a discrete fracture ntework model.
