  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the regional change of dental scaling experience by scaling insurance coverage in July, 2013. The data were used in the "Community Health Survey" of the 2012 and 2014. The results of the study are as follows; 1) The subjective oral health status and brushing of lunch was highest in Gangnam-gu in both 2012 and 2014(p<0.001). 2) Regular dental check-up was high in Gangnam-gu in both 2012 and 2014(p<0.001). 3) The Scaling experience rate increased in all three regions(p<0.001). 4) The socio-demographic characteristics and scaling experience were higher in 2012 and 2014(p<0.001). The scaling experience was higher when there were office workers and spouses(p<0.001). From the policy perspective, it seems necessary to take measures to reduce the gap in scaling experience rate due to differences in income and unequal medical environment.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to find scaling patients' oral health belief and satisfaction by applying Comprehensive Dental Hygiene Care (CDHC) process. Methods: From July 1 to September 20, 2020, the data about 182 patients who had scaling in dental clinics and hospitals had been collected and analyzed. For data analysis, SPSS Statistics 22.0 was applied to conduct frequency analysis, chi-square, t-test, One way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: Regarding oral health behavior, in the CDHC group 92.4% used oral care products (p<0.001), and 67.4% regularly visited dental clinics for oral care (p<0.001). Regarding the oral health belief according to general characteristics, in the CDHC group, persons aged '50-65' scored 2.4 (the highest), and were significantly different from those aged '20-29' as the result of post-hoc analysis (p<0.001). Regarding the oral health belief of the CDHC group according to oral health behavior, the scaling cycle '3 months' scored the highest (p<0.05). The patients' satisfaction had high correlations with benefit (p<0.01) and Importance (p<0.05) as the sub factors of the oral health belief of the CDHC group. Conclusions: CDHC positively influenced scaling patients' oral health belief and satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to expand CDHC, as the medium to improve oral health belief and satisfaction, to clinical settings.

  • Based upon the results of numerical calculation, empirical scaling equations were made for supersonic under-expanded jets in both axisymmetric and two dimensional flows. The objective of the present study is to find a straightforward method that can predict the under-expanded supersonic jets issuing from various kinds of nozzles. The present empirical equations were agreed with the calculation results of total variation diminishing difference scheme. The supersonic under-expanded jets operating at a given pressure ratio could be well predicted by the present scaling equations.

  • Recently, many studies using reinforcement learning-based autoscaling have been performed to make autoscaling policies that are adaptive to changes in the environment and meet specific purposes. However, training the reinforcement learning-based Horizontal Pod Autoscaler(HPA) policy in a real environment requires a lot of money and time. And it is not practical to retrain the reinforcement learning-based HPA policy from scratch every time in a real environment. In this paper, we implement a reinforcement learning-based HPA in Kubernetes, and propose a transfer leanring technique using a queuing model-based simulation to accelerate the training of a reinforcement learning-based HPA policy. Pre-training using simulation enabled training the policy through simulation experience without consuming time and resources in the real environment, and by using the transfer learning technique, the cost was reduced by about 42.6% compared to the case without transfer learning technique.

  • In this study, 110 adults aged 40 to 69 years were surveyed from April 28, 2016, to May 28, 2016 to analyze their periodontal status according to daily stress, coping methods, and oral health behavior. The collected data were analyzed using the t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and hierarchical multiple regression. Daily stress levels of all subjects were most frequent potential risk 64.5% of the subjects, the high risk 19.1% and 16.4% of the health group. Regarding stress coping methods, active methods recorded 2.46, passive methods recorded 2.32. Regarding oral health behaviors, subjects brushed an average of 2.45 times daily, for an average of 2 minutes. Futhermore, 69.1% of subjects brushed before bedtime and 89.1% practiced scaling. Regarding periodontal status, the O'Leary index was 73.45, gingivitis index was 1.30, an average of 2.83 quadrants possessed a periodontal pocket. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis identified, type of employment (${\beta}=-0.348$), scaling (${\beta}=-0.253$), and age (${\beta}=0.244$) as factors that influence the number of quadrants possessing a periodontal pocket. These results confirmed that the oral health behavior of scaling, but not stress levels of coping methods, strongly influenced periodontal status.

  • Workers' oral health is important to guarantee workers' right of health and increase productivity. The aim of this study was to investigate recognition and satisfaction of national oral examination for workers in Incheon and Daejeon. Three hundred seventy-nine workers who were selected by convenience cluster sampling answered the questionnaire about experience, recognition and satisfaction of national health examination and oral examination by self recording type. A total of 76.0 percent of the subjects had national health examination, and 51.7% had national oral examination. A total of 64.9 percent had experienced notice about national health examination from the company, and 28.2% about national oral examination. The subjects had high positive score about intention of treatment, dental scaling, and change of toothbrushing method depending on oral examination, need of national health and oral examination, and usefulness to one's health through national health and oral examination. Office workers, regular workers, and the workers with monthly income more than 2 million won had more notice about national health and oral examination compared with sales and production workers, contract workers and the workers with monthly income less than 2 million won. We suggest institutional management of the notice about national oral examination be needed, especially for economically poor, or contract workers to increase the ratio to have national oral examination.
