  • This paper deals with the design and analysis of a beating cam. The beating device of a high speed rapier loom, weaving fabric by completion of warp-weft patterns, is driven by double cam type on the same axis. As the double cam, coupled with two cams, performs the mutual conjugate motion, the double cam must be very preciously designed for smooth. For the shape design of a double cam, an instant velocity center method is proposed. This method can determine the cam profile from the contact conditions of the cam and roller follower and the velocity relationships at the instant velocity center. And the practical applicability was verified by developing “DISKCAM of a CAD program. As the results in this paper, the shapes of two cams, which are in the conjugate motion, are designed by instant velocity center method. We applied 8-order polynominals for the beating as displace¬ment curves for shape determination of double cams. The data of displacement, velocity, and acceleration of beating cam can be used adjust in accurate operation and to develope an advanced beating device.

  • Determining the robot motion using optimal technique has been studied often in recent years however the study of determining the optimal robot dimensions is very rare. In this paper, the authors attempted to find out the least driving torques at each joint as the optimization of link length refered to a 3R robot manipulator. For the given linear path with triangular velocity profile, the inverse kinematic and inverse dynamic problems are examined in order to lead into solution of problem suggested for optimal design of link lengths. Accordingly, optimal link lengths in the case of given linear path is obtained with respect to the parameter of link ratios.

  • This paper reports the design of solenoid in a coilgun for high velocity of projectile in a coilgun system, according to diameter of coil. Coilgun using a magnetic force means a mechanism that can control the magnetic material. When momentarily supply a large current to the solenoid instantaneous magnetic field is created around the coil, the projectile is fired by receiving a magnetic force towards the center of the coil, based on the right-hand rule of Fleming. The velocity of projectile is proportional to the magnetic force generated by the electromagnetic coil. The current affects the life of the coil and the current limit exists. Therefore, the coilgun design, which does not exceed the current limit and the magnetic forces are at the maximum, is required. In this paper, whether it is possible fire looking for the optimal number of turns according to the diameter of the coil from AWG #6 to AWG #18 for the design of the solenoid coil, and comparative analysis firing rate associated with it.

  • This study implicates a quality evaluation technique for lining concrete using the ultra-sonic technique and proposed a classification for quality evaluation. From the comparison of test results, an improved result comparable to the results by destructive test can be obtained by using averaged transmission velocity of velocities obtained at pure space and central space between two sensors of ultrasonic tester. It is also shown that strength evaluation by ultra-sonic method is not reliable and an evaluation according to the transmission velocities can be improved method for the strength evaluation of concrete.

  • The purpose of the study was to provide the fundamental data to instruct athletes through the analysis athletes' movement in javelin. Three athletes in the level of national representative were participated in this study. The study analyzed kinematic variables(lead foot and releasing javelin) through 3-D analysis and obtained the following results. 1. During withdrawal, it is important to maintain of running horizontal velocity. 2. It was showed that throng average height was $84{\pm}3.3%$ and javelin adequative degree, Among the athletes, $S_2$ who had the best record was released the javelin with the fast velocity, but throw the javelin with the less releasing velocity. 3. $S_2$ released after lead foot were completely landed and therefore it is no problem in a kinematic aspect. However, $S_1$ angle was too small. it caused increase of release velocity to be prevented. 4. $S_2$ showing the best result indicated shorter in duration time. Generally, the shorter duration time in release phase showed the longer release distance. Especially $S_1$ and $S_3$ showing the worse result indicated the longer duration time in preparatory phase, causing the breakup of force. Therefore to improve the record, it should be decreased the duration time in preparatory phase. 5. Compared with $S_1$ and $S_3$, $S_2$ showing the best record indicated the higher velocity in center of mass, trunk, upper arm, lower arm and hand That is the higher velocity of upper arm at release leaded the better velocity transfer from upper arm to following lower arm and hand, these action should be considered to be helpful of better record. According to the above conclusion, when the athletic leaders cauch athletes, they should focus on maintaining knee angle, upper body and hip angle in a previous stage of release and throwing angle, throwing height, throwing velocity in a release stage.

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the kinematics of the 205B movement in platform diving. For the experiment, 2 athlete from the national diving team were chosen as the subject and two S -VHS video cameras were used. For this diving players preparing for the olympics participated. It was shown that the mean total took $1.112{\pm}0.12s$. In order to perform better, the divers time must be increased, at take off and rotation must be done high up and the horizontal distance must be shorted to main entrance of the water. To enter the water safely, the jump has to be high, the horizontal speed slow and the vertical speed as fast as possible. At E1 the lower limbs change in speed should decrease and after the rotation begins at E2. At take off, the jump is more important than the rotation for the performance of the dive. At take off, the trunk angular velocity was high, and this was needed to jump high for moment of inertia for rotation because for efficient jumping the upper body has to spread out and increase the height of the center of mass.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causes of errors from EGR posture on the balance beam, which is bending flick-flack salto backward stretched national team players through kinematic analysis, and present training methods for them so as to provide scientifically useful information to coaches and athlete. Findings from this study are summarized below. The most important factors that affect the errors in boyd center position and speed change were the speed change of left and right body centers and the horizontal and vertical speed changes. The left and right acceleration changes were greater in failed posture than in successful posture. The horizontal and vertical accelerations in E3 and E5 were the key factors that affected the backward somersault and landing. The angular speed changes which varied between success and failure were notable in head and shoulder joints. In individual results. The section when the angular speeds of head and shoulder joint must be the greatest was E4. In this section, when the body is extending instantly in a bent posture, increasing the angular speeds of head, shoulder and hip joints can improve the duration of staying in the air and the rotation radius of a somersault.

  • Current mechanical devices are trending toward being a small size, high speedy, automation. For performing these functions, machinery elements organizing a machine should be designed exactly. Cams have high confidence and economics in ablility to transmit a motion. Accordingly, A cam mechanism is very important for processing the machine automatically. This paper introduce an inverse cam mechanism. A square shaped cam which cannot be commonly analyzed is designed and manufactured by using the NURBS interpolation algorithm. The objective of this paper is to develop a computer-aided design program. In this paper, a displacement curve of oscillating motion inverse cam mechanism with square shaped follower is analyzed. The data is redistibuted by the NURBS algorithm. A cam shape is designed by the instant velocity center method, and simulated to verify the validity of the operation state.

  • This study was conducted to provide useful information for the scientific training of spikes and instruction, by analyzing all kinematical variants including time, distance, velocity, angle factors in spike movements of volleyball matches. The subjects were 4 foreigner players, who participated in the V-League of 2008-2009. The conclusion from this study is as follows. Time for a jumping step was .33s, and Angelko had a bit longer takeoff time than other players. In Angelko and Anderson who were leading in attack power, the whole distance of a spike motion was relatively short, less than 4m. The moment when the center of gravity reached the lowest point was when the right foot bearing weight in the jumping step was passing the left foot, and the highest point of gravity was 2.30m, which appeared just before the impact. The horizontal speed of the center of the gravity was highest as 4.19m/s at the beginning of a jumping step, and lowest at the stance phase of the fore foot just before takeoff. The vertical speed of the center of the gravity was lowest after the right foot touched the ground, and highest after the takeoff of the fore foot. Impact was 3.22m, and the highest ball speed was 28.18m/s.
