  • The study shows the typical 7 models of gifted students teaching-learning developed at home and abroad so far and suggests on integrated teaching-learning model that we can commonly apply to mathematics-information gifted students. This teaching-learning model is developed, based on Renzulli Enrichment Triad Model.

  • In this study we aimed to find out if a mathematics lesson with Jigsaw model can help to change such negative mathematical affective characteristic to a positive one. The results of the study were as in the following. First, the mathematics lessons applied Jigsaw model can help to inspire curiosity and motivation of students. During the lessons, communication among students was vitalized. Such communication inspired learner's curiosity and learning motivation. The expert group and home group activities in the Jigsaw model made the learner's question-answering activities more instantaneous and frequent. Second, the mathematics lessons applied Jigsaw model can help students to become aware of the value of mathematical concepts and formula.

A Mathematical Model for Prediction of the Fats of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Activated Sludge Processes : Steady State and Dynamic Simulation (활성슬러지 하수처리장에 유입된 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons의 농도분포를 예측하기 위한 수학적 모형의 개발)

  • A mathematical model was proposed to predict the predominant reactions and transport pathways of anthracene in a conventional activated sludge wastewater treatment system. The model consists of five differential equations with seven kinetic parameters and eighteen input variables. Volatilization, biodegradation, adsorption/desorption as well as the convective inputs and outputs are included in the model. The steady state calculations showed that volatilization (61%) in aeration tank and the withdrawal of primary sludge (33%) were two major pathways for removal of anthracene from the system. The overall removal was about 97%. The system reached a practical steady state at about 160 hours via dynamic modeling. The proposed model can give plausible predictions of the fate of priority organic pollutants in activated sludge processes.

  • 이 연구는 인지기제를 활용한 문제기반학습이 학습자의 학업성취도와 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 우선 초등학교 수학과 학습에서 학습자들의 인지과정을 안내할 수 있는 문제기반학습 설계를 위해 문제기반학습 모형에 란다(N. Landa)의 인지기제 교수학습설계이론을 적용하여 인지기제 활용 문제기반학습 모형을 도출하였다. 그리고 초등학교 수학과 4학년 2학기 4개 단원의 8차시를 추출하여 문제를 개발하고 서울시 소재 'ㅈ' 초등학교 4학년 학생들 중 동질집단으로 확인된 2개 학급에 이 모형을 적용하였다. 연구 결과 인지기제 활용 문제기반학습을 적용한 실험집단과 적용하지 않은 통제집단 간 학업성취도 효과에 있어서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 수학적 태도와 관련해서는 하위영역 중 수학에 대한 자아개념과 수학에 대한 태도 영역에서는 유의한 차이가 있었으나 수학에 대한 학습습관 영역에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 특히 세부영역별로 자신감, 흥미, 우월감, 주의집중, 목적의식, 자율학습에 있어서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 학습기술 적용과 성취동기에 대해서는 유의한 차이가 없었다.

  • 파랑의 변형 가운데 천수, 굴절, 회절, 반사를 예측하는 수학적 모형은 크게 두 가지 유형으로 나눌 수 있는데, 첫 번째로 파형경사인 ha(k:파수. $\alpha$:진폭)를 비선형의 매개변수로 하는 Stokes 파랑식이 있고, 두 번째로 상대파고인 $\alpha$/h를 비선형의 매개변수로 하고 상대수심인 kh를 분산성의 매개변수로 하는 천수방정식(Shallow water equation)이 있다. 파랑의 변형 가운데 천수, 굴절만을 예측하고 회절, 반사를 예측하지 못하는 수학적 모형으로는 에너지 이송방정식이 있다.   • 재래의 공학적 해석과정에서는, 주어진 시스템에 대한 정량적 해석을 위해 우선 시스템에 대한 수학적 모형을 가정.도입하고, 미지계수에 대한 결정은 시스템으로부터 관측된 자료에 의존하게 된다. 반면 DDS에 의한 모형화는 시스템에 대한 사전 지식이 없어도 시스템으로부터의 자료에 대한 체계적인 정량적 해석을 통해서 시스템을 특성화시키는 미분방정식을 유도할 수 있게 하며 오히려 시스템에 대한 이해를 돕게 한다. 이 때 결정되는 모형은 최소오차자승법(least square error method)에 의한 통계학적으로 가장 적합한 근사모형으로 결정된 모형의 계수로부터 시 스템의 물리적 특성을 규명(identify)할 수 없는 경우에도 그 모형으로 표현되는 추상시스템을 바탕으로 특성화, 예측 내지 제어 목적으로 활용할 수 있다. DDS는 단일변수(univariate)및 다 변수(multivariate) 자료에 모두 적용 가능하며 전달 함수 규명(Transfer Function Identification) 및 닫힘 루우프 시스템(closedloop system)의 모형화 및 해석에도 이용되고 있다.

  • Field and laboratory studies of the near field behavior of the San Francisco ocean outfall were reported. The data sets cover broad ranges of discharge conditions and oceanic conditions, and are associated with a typical type of outfall discharges with multiport diffusers. The laboratory data sets were obtained in density-stratified towing tanks to replicate the field tests. Model studies of wastefield behavior using these data sets were predicted by the mathematical models UM, UDKHDEN, RSB, and CORMIX2 for minimum dilution, the height to top of wastefield, and wastefield thickness. In this paper, the results are discussed and compared measurements with mathematical model predictions. The hydraulic model studies reproduced the major features observed in the field. It also afforded considerable insight into the mechanics of mixing of multiport risers which could have been obtained neither from the field test nor the mathematical models.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze teaching-learning program which can be applied to mathematically gifted students in primary school, Our program is based on constructivist views on teaching and learning of mathematics. Mainly, we study the algorithmic thinking of mathematically gifted students in primary school in connection with the network problems; Eulerian graph problem, the minimum connector problem, and the shortest path problem, The above 3-subjects are not familiar with primary school mathematics, so that we adapt teaching-learning model based on the social constructivism. To achieve the purpose of this study, seventeen students in primary school participated in the study, and video type(observation) and student's mathematical note were used for collecting data while the students studied. The results of our study were summarized as follows: First, network problems based on teaching-learning model of constructivist views help students learn the algorithmic thinking. Second, the teaching-learning model based on constructivist views gives an opportunity of various mathematical thinking experience. Finally, the teaching-learning model based on constructivist views needs more the ability of teacher's research and the time of teaching for students than an ordinary teaching-learning model.

  • A mathematical model of responsibility-sensitive safety (RSS) has been proposed as a way to determine whether an autonomous driving accident has occurred. Autonomous vehicles related industry and academia have shown great interest in this model. However, this mathematical model lacks a comprehensive review on whether the model can be used to clarify responsibilities of autonomous vehicles in the event of a traffic accident. In this study, we analyzed the issues that need to be solved in order to apply the RSS model. In conclusion, there is a limit in the equation and the social acceptability of the RSS model. To use the RSS model practically, it is necessary to define the response time of the autonomous vehicle and to measure and control the reaction time value according to the appropriate technology level for each autonomous vehicle.
