Synovial Chondroma Causing Radial Nerve Palsy (요골 신경 마비를 유발한 활액막 연골종)

  • Synovial chondroma is an uncommon benign lesion characterized by metaplastic cartilage formation within the synovial connective tissue, usually intraarticular, commonly affects the knee, hip and elbow. We would like to present the case of a 65-year-old man suffering from synovial chondroma of the right elbow responsible for radial nerve entrapment neuropathy. This is a case of synovial chondroma of the right elbow in an 65-year-old man presenting with pain and restricted joint movement of the right elbow, loss of extension and sensation of the right thumb and wrist. Plain radiographs showed narrowing of elbow joint space, bony spur on the edge of the joint, and radio-opaque sclerotic change of subchondral area. MRI revealed $16{\times}12$ mm sized round mass on the radial head, homogenous low signal on T1WI, heterogenous high and low signal on T2WI. The patient underwent marginal excision of the mass, compressing the radial nerve. Diagnosis was confirmed by histologic examination.

A Study on the Cure Behavior of Epoxy Molding Compound (Epoxy Molding Compound의 경화거동에 관한 연구)

  • The cure behavior of commercial epoxy molding compounds (EMC) commonly used for IC package was studied at constant cure temperatures as well as at constant heating rates using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), rheometer, and dielectric analyzer (DEA). The cure kinetics were obtained using autocatalytic reaction model according to the Ryan Dutta method after assuming m+n equal to 2. The prediction of reaction rates by the model equation corresponded well to experimental data at all temperatures except for 10$0^{\circ}C$. The phase transitions such as gelation and vitrification occurred during network formation. At each isothermal cure temperature, $T_{g}$ was measured in accordance with cure time, and the vitrification point was attained when $T_{g}$ was equal to $T_{cure}$. The temperature dependence of gel points and vitrification points showed good agreement with Arrhenius relation. DEA using parallel plate electrode was effective for the monitoring of EMC cure. we knew that if the resin systems are materials of comparable quality, $_{gel}$$T_{g}$ is constant regardless of accelerator concentration in TTT (Time-Temperature-Transformation) diagram.

  • The wastes generated in farming or fishing villages are mostly those of high moisture content or those once used for farming or fishing work, which require a complex process even for disposing of them alone, and moreover they have been recognized to cause a secondary side effects. The study thus is intended to conduct the basic character analysis and incineration test so as to develop the thermal decomposition furnace which will be optimal in disposing of the wastes generated from urban area that mostly have a high thermal energy or require a complex treatment process. And the subject included in the study, in addition, is to design and develop the furnace aimed at reducing the harmful ingredient as well as recycling the heat generated in the course of incineration.

  • Fresh materials were obtained during collection trips to $Ull\check{u}ng$ Island in October, 1989, and August, 1990. Among them, some resupinate fungi were identified. Seven fungi were confirmed new in Korea and are recorded here with descriptions. They are Gloeocystidiellum karstenii, Peniophora lilacea, Phlebia cremeo-alutacea, P. deflectens, P. livida, Resinicium bicolor, and Hymeno­chaete corrugata.

A Study on Korean Textbooks by Japanese in the Korean Enlightenment Period (개화기 일본인 간행 한국어 문법서에 대한 일고찰: 『한어통(韓語通)』의 품사 설정과 문법 항목 기술을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the aspect of the decision of the Korean part of speech and the properties of the grammatical items based on "韓語通" which was published in 1909. "韓語通" is a Korean grammar book written by 前間恭作 who also published "校訂交隣須知" in 1904. "韓語通" is known for influencing of 'Otsuki grmmar(大槻 文法),' dividing Korean part of speech into eleven. Based on 'mood' and 'voice' we can assume that "韓語通" adopted Otsuki's grammar. '存在詞' is another clue that "韓語通" adopted Yamada's grammar. However, 前間恭作 persisted that Korean language is different from Japanese language. This view is different from 寶迫繁勝, 高橋亨, 藥師寺知? etc. This study tried to investigate the interchange of the two languages in historical study of Korean and Japanese linguistics during modern and contemporary period. For this purpose, we searched the aspect of the part of speech and analyzed the grammar items. In conclusion, we was able to light on how Japanese scholars approached to Korean grammar system in late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Effectiveness of IL-12 Administration and Fusion on Tumor Antigen Sensitization Methods for Dendritic Cells Derived from Patients with Myelogenous Leukemia (골수성백혈병에서 배양한 수지상세포(Dendritic Cell)에 대한 종양항원 감작법으로 IL-12 첨가와 융합법의 효과)

  • Backgroud: Immunotherapy using dendritic cells (DC) loaded with tumor antigens may represent a potentially effective method for inducing antitumor immunity. We evaluated the effectiveness of DC-based antitumor immune response in various conditions. Methods: DC were cultured from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNC) in myelogenous leukemia (ML) and lysates of autologous leukemic cells are used as tumor antigen. The effectiveness of interleukin-12 (IL-12) and CD40L (CD154) on the antigen presenting function of lysates-loaded DC was analyzed by proliferation, cytokine production, and cytotoxicity tests with activated PBMNC (mainly lymphocytes). For generating antigen-loaded DC, direct fusion of DC with ML was studied. Results: Antigen loaded DC induced significantly effective antitumor immune response against autologous leukemic cells. Administration of IL-12 on the DC based antitumor immune response showed higher proliferation activity, IFN-$\gamma$ production, and cytotoxic activity of PBMNC. Also, fused cell has a potent antitumor immune response. Conclusion: We conclude that lysates-loaded DC with IL-12 may be effectively utilized as inducer of antitumor immune reaction in ML and in vivo application with DC-based antitumor immunotherapy or tumor vaccination seems to be feasible.

The Characterization of Recycle PE/PET/TPE Blend with Compatibilizers (폐 PE/PET/TPE Blends 제조와 상용화에 따른 특성 분석)

  • This study focused on the characterization of recycle PE/PET/TPE blend with compatibilizers. The heat resistance and impact strength of a weak point on PET/HDPE blend has been improved. TPE added polyester-based recycle heat-resistant properties to $150^{\circ}C$ showed more than $50^{\circ}C$ higher than HDPE added. Elastomer applied is a significant increase in the impact strength, and then it is possible to apply for safety materials in industries requiring heat-resistance and elasticity. Also using PET blend compatibilizer improves the strength of the polyolefin resin. The mechanical properties of recycle HDPE and PET blend has been greatly improved, and the reduction in the size of the dispersed phase by the addition of compatibilizers on morphology characteristics were observed uniformity becomes.

  • 제지 기계의 습부 공정을 안정화시키고, 또한 종이의 지필도에 악영향을 끼치지 않으면서 종이의 기계방향 물성의 변이를 줄이기 위해서, 보류도와 지필도 공정을 동시에 제어하기 위한 제어전략들이 개발되었다. 보류도와 지필도에 미치는 주 변수들에 관한 연구를 양이온성팜(CPAM)/벤토나이트 보류제와 파일럿 제지 기계를 사용하여 수행하였다. 마이크로파티클 보류제 첨가량이 보류도와 지필도에 미치는 영향을 설명하기 위해서 deposition efficiency 모델과 bridging strength 모델을 개발하였다. 제지 기계 보류 공정의 동특성 모델을 질량수지분석을 사용해서 개발하였다. 지료화학 변수의 효과를 모델에 포함하기 위해서, 보류도를 작업조건들에 의존하는 변수로 모델에 포함시켰다. 또한 지필도의 실험적 모델을 개발하고 보류공정을 위한 동특성 모델들과 연계해서 지필도의 동특성을 모사하였다. 여러 제어 전략들이 시뮬레이션상에서 실험되어졌다. 평량과 종이의 회분율 대신에 종이내의 펄프 질량과 충전제 질량을 제어하면 decouper를 사용하지 않고도 두 제어 루프간 상호작용을 줄일 수 있음을 보였다. 지필도의 제어를 위해서, 헤드박스 펄프 농도제어와 폴리머유량과 벤토나이트 유량의 비율제어를 제안하였다. 지종 변경시 백수농도의 설정값을 계산하는 문제를 해결하였다. 또한, 평량, 회분율, 백수농도 및 헤드박스 펄프 농도의 다변수제어가 논의되었다.

  • 유수사용허가업무를 담당하는 실무자들은 현행 공무원 보직체계에 따라 인사이동이 되는 경우가 많으므로 유수사용허가업무를 수행하는 담당자의 해당 분야에 대한 전문성이 결여될 수 있다. 또한, 유수사용허가 권한 자체가 수계나 하천의 등급에 따라 각 하천의 홍수통제소와 지방자치 단체에 위임되어 있어 동일한 업무이지만 업무의 일관성이 보장되기 힘든 여건이다. 따라서, 업무를 일관적으로 처리할 수 있는 시스템의 개발이 절실히 요구된다. 특히 국유인 수자원을 배분하는 유수사용허가 검토는 일관된 방법과 기준을 적용해야 하는 것이므로 컴퓨터 시스템으로 개발할 경우 간단한 조작방법을 습득하는 것만으로 업무의 일관성을 유지 할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 여러 사용자가 동시에 접속하여 사용이 가능한 웹 프로그램을 이용한다면, 4대강 홍수통제소 및 각 지방자치단체로 분할된 업무를 하나의 시스템에서 체계적으로 수행할 수 있게 된다. 하천유수사용허가관리를 위한 시스템은 유역에 대하여 상 하류에 걸쳐 일관성 있게 적용할 수 있는 자동화된 물수지 분석을 실시할 수 있으며, 유수사용허가에 따른 허가이력 관리, 서식의 자동출력, 허가대장의 시스템과의 연계운영 등을 전산화하였다. 하천유수사용허가관리시스템은 웹기반 의사결정 시스템으로서 앞으로 각 유역에서 발생되는 신규 하천유수사용허가신청의 허가여부 검토와 허가 갱신시 허가량 조정 등에 사용할 수 있으며 수리권 및 시설물 정보의 유지 관리에 도움을 줄 것이다.

Flexural Properties and Thermal Stability of Bifunctional/Tetrafunctional Epoxy Blends (2 -관능성 에폭시 수지 블렌드의 굴곡 특성과 열 안전성)

  • Flexural properties and thermal stability have been studied as a function of blend composition in bifunctional DGERA (diglycidyl ether of hisphenol A)/tetrafunctional TGDDM(tetrag1ycidyl diamino diphenyl methane) cured with DDM(4, 4'-diamino diphenyl methane). The flexural modulus and the glass transition temperature increase with an increase of TGDDM and show discontinuous dependence on blend composition around the composition range of 80/20~60/40(L)GEBA/TGDDM). This can be explained with a structural phase inversion (ductile-to-brittle) in crosslinking networks. With increasing TGDDM, the maximum decomposition temperature(Ts) increases, whereas the activation energy during thermal degradation decreases.
