  • 초고속해상무선통신망(LTE-Maritime)은 연안으로부터 100km 까지 전국 3해안(동 서 남해)에 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 통신 체계를 구축하여 항해 중인 선박(어선, 소형선박, 상선 등)을 대상으로 바다에서도 LTE급의 데이터 통신이 가능한 해상 e-Navigation 서비스 제공을 목표로 한다. 본 논문은 초고속해상무선통신망의 커버리지 및 통신서비스 품질검증 기준이 되는 연안으로부터의 통신서비스 제공 거리, 전송 속도, 전송성공률 등에 대해 검토해 보고, 각 품질 지표를 검증할 수 있는 시험항목 설정, 시험 환경 구성, 시험 방법 및 품질 결과 분석 방안에 대해 논의해보고자 한다.

A Study on the Improvement of Resistance Performance for G/T 4.99ton Class Korean Coastal Fishing Boats (G/T 4.99톤급 한국 연안어선의 저항성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Korean fishing boats have had appropriate hull forms for the safety, stability and convenience of fishing ability. However, Korean fishermen are recently concerned about the resistance performance and speed of Korean fishing boats, because the prices of fuel oil are gradually risen, also the exhausting of fish resources and the demand of high speed fishing boats are increased. Therefore, the necessity of the study on the improvement of resistance performance for Korean small coastal fishing boats is gradually increased. This study compares the hull form characteristics of Korean fishing boats with those of Japanese fishing boats, and the hull form of a representative Korean fishing boat is modified. From the modification of the hull form parameters for the Korean fishing boat, the improvement of resistance performances is evaluated. Moreover, the increase of resistance performances is also achieved from the modification of local characteristics for the hull form of the Korean fishing boat. A computational method and ship model tests in towing tank are used for the conformations of the improvement of resistance performance.

A Study on the User-Based Small Fishing Boat Collision Alarm Classification Model Using Semi-supervised Learning (준지도 학습을 활용한 사용자 기반 소형 어선 충돌 경보 분류모델에대한 연구)

  • This study aimed to provide a solution for improving ship collision alert of the 'accident vulnerable ship monitoring service' among the 'intelligent marine traffic information system' services of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The current ship collision alert uses a supervised learning (SL) model with survey labels based on large ship-oriented data and its operators. Consequently, the small ship data and the operator's opinion are not reflected in the current collision-supervised learning model, and the effect is insufficient because the alarm is provided from a longer distance than the small ship operator feels. In addition, the supervised learning (SL) method requires a large number of labeled data, and the labeling process requires a lot of resources and time. To overcome these limitations, in this paper, the classification model of collision alerts for small ships using unlabeled data with the semi-supervised learning (SSL) algorithms (Label Propagation and TabNet) was studied. Results of real-time experiments on small ship operators using the classification model of collision alerts showed that the satisfaction of operators increased.

A Study on the Characteristics of Motion Response of Stern Trawlers in Following Seas (선미식 트롤선의 추파중 선체동요특성에 관한 연구)

  • In the field of research of sea keeping quality, much development has been made in recent years using the method of calculation based on the strip theory. It is very important to investigate the hull response of a fishing vessel in waves to ensure the safe navigation and fishing operation in rough seas by preserving excellent sea keeping qualities. For this purpose, the author measured various responses of three fishing vessels in waves using real sea experimental measuring system and analyzed the experimental data The results obtained can be summarized as follow. 1. The amplitudes of pitching motion in the experiments appeared low values with more than one peak occasionally in following sea and quartering sea, and the band width of those was found to be wide relatively. 2. The amplitudes of rolling motion in the experiments appeared high values with only one peak in following sea and quartering sea regardless of ship's tonnage, and the band width of those was found to be narrow relatively. 3. The comparisions of theoretical results with those of experiments for the pitching motions and rolling motion in following sea and quartering sea show that the theoretical values are higher slightly than those of experiments in both directions and the period at which the peak appears in the calculations and the experiments has good agreement approximately 4. The calculated responses of two vessels under a assumed wave of 2.2m height and 5.0sec period showed that the response of pitching motion of ship-A are 2.2 times bigger than those of ship-C in following sea and quartering sea, and the response of rolling motion of ship-A is 4.2 times bigger than that of ship-C in quartering sea.

On the motion characteristics of small trawler in trawling job and sailing (소형 트롤 어선의 예망과 항해중의 동요특성)

  • It is very important for the safe navigation and fishing operation to ensure the hull response of a fishing vessel in rough seas. This is an experimental study on the dynamical characteristics of ship's motion during operating job and sailing in the real sea. The experiments were carried out on the small stern trawler in operating job and sailing, and then the ship's roll and pitch motion were simultaneously recorded by P/C according to the wave directions. From these data, the statistical properties and power spectra were obtained and the analysis of ship's motions in the both case were made. The results obtained are summarized follows : (1) The amplitudes of pitch motion don't appear a big different between trawl job and sailing, but at bow seas, its in sailing have a tendency to increase more than in trawl job. The amplitudes of roll motion appear a bog different between trawl job and sailing, but at beam sea, that slightly decreasing tendency. (2) The peak period of pitch motion in trawl job and sailing change, but that of roll motion don't change according to the direction of waves. (3) The warp tention cause the motion of hull to be reduce, if the tention of each side have a ballance.

  • The satellite navigation system is widely used for identifying a user's position regardless of weather or geographic conditions and also make effect on new technology of marine LBS(Location Based Service), which has the technology of geographic information such as the ENC. Generally, there are conceivable systems of marine LBS such as ECDIS, or ECS that use the ENC itself with powerful processor in installed type on ships bridge. Since the ENC is relatively heavy structure with dummy format for data transfer between different systems, we should reduce the ENC to small and compact size in order to use it in mobile platform. In this paper, we assumed that the mobile system like PDA, or Webpad can be used for small capability of mobile platform. However, the ENC should be updated periodically by update profile data produced by HO. If we would reduce the ENC without a consideration of update, we could not get newly updated data furthermore. As summary, we studied considerations for ENC reduction with update capability. It will make the ENC be useful in many mobile platforms for various applications.

  • The long line fishing machine is combined with motor and two disc rollers has used on the small size fishing-boat under 1 ton located in near Jeollanam-do seaside. The long line fishing motor is controlled only one direction because the fishing line is loaded heavily at pulling up. On this paper we made the long line fishing 400W power motor controller which it was usually applied under 1 ton fishing boat, and designed the controller using PWM chip, Half bridge driver and MOSFET for one direction motor control. Furthermore some user convenience devices were added like battery indicator and safety protection circuit for battery overdischarge and battery source wire mismatch connection. So we protected the battery from overdicharging when the battery voltage was below 11.5V and fishermen didn't need to worry about source lines misconnection anymore. We confirmed the test version of controller was the good working condition at land and sea.

Approaching Method for Detecting Vessels in the Korean Waters using the Panchromatic Imagery of IRS-1C Satellite (Panchromatic 위성 자료를 이용한 선박 확인의 접근 기법)

  • The feasibility of counting number of small vessels and position in Korean waters using the panchromatic imageries derived from the IRS-1C was tested. The parameters for interpretation of satellite's imageries of small vessels were location(position), size, shape, shadow, tone, texture and pattern, height and depth, situation and association with other vessels. The position of small vessels in the sea without GCP(ground control point) was considered to be inclusive in the satellite imagery with 35 km semi-diameter, denoting rough geographical position of the vessel. The size of vessel was measured by length from stem to stern of the vessel, distinguished by following wave on the surface water. Offshore fishing vessels were separated from merchant ships by their length smaller than 100 m. The shape of vessels on panchromatic imagery of IRS-1C appeared just streamline. In case of clouds which were similar to the shape of small vessels, we were able to distinguish between vessel and cloud by shadow of cloud in the water surface. The tone of sea surface was dark black while small vessel appeared bright white. Small vessel was distinguished from the rough texture of the sea surface and the regular pattern of the waves with white capes when weather was not so good. The situation of the fishing activity was estimated by information of fishing method related to the fishing boat such as the pair trawl in the Yellow Sea.

Hind-casting Simulation of Sedimentation Changes and Passage Hindrance In Keum River Estuary (금강하구 퇴적변화 및 통행지장에 관한 후측모의)

  • Sedimentation changes related with bottom shear stress attenuation at JangHang channel in the Keum River Estuary, where several huge coastal constructions including an estuarine dam have been conducted for last 2 decades, were evaluated for 7 cases to figure out passage hindrance through the channel by a hydrodynamic model using hind-casting technique from 1988 to 2000 at every 2 years interval. Due to the construction of Keum River Estuary Dam, the maximum bottom shear stress rapidly lessened to $0.2-0.6N/m^2$ compared to$1-2N/m^2$ in natural status. Especially it marks below the critical shear stress of $0.4N/m^2$ resulting in severe siltation in the channel just after the closing of dam gates in 1994. It is concluded that the dam may block the tidal energy propagation to upstream and directly results in sedimentation environment in front of dam site. It is also revealed that at least 20% of passage hindrance of small fishing boats through the channel could be counted due to sedimentation by analysis of predicted mean spring tides.

Mechanization of Fishing Operation on the Sea Eel Pots (장어통발 어업의 자동기계화에 관한 연구)

  • The basic investigation of the sea eel pots fisheries by questionnarie observation and dimension of the pots by fishing operation were carried out in order to develop for mechanical hauling system with 20~50 gross tonnage fishing boats from June to December, 1988. Number and weight of fish per pot between smaller diameter 11cm and larger 13cm of the pot have no significance so that the drag of the smaller pots can be decreased about 20% than the larger pots. The operating time by two men from opening to closing with screwing lock entrance was slightly faster than that by three men with knotting entrance even though the losses with two kinds of entrances while fishing operation were about the same. It was very reasonable that stone and lead sinker on the main line were substitute for two or three lead core P.P rope to make it smooth surface of the main line for mechanization of the continuous fishing operation.
