A Diversity Transmission Technique for Single-Antenna Single-Carrier Systems with Frequency-Domain Equalization (주파수축 등화기를 사용하는 단일 안테나 단일 반송파 시스템을 위한 다이버시티 전송 기술)

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is widely used in wideband wireless communication systems due to its excellent performance. However, OFDM has a disadvantage of high peak-to-average power ratio and SC-FDE(Single-Carrier with Frequency-Domain Equalization) was introduced to overcome the drawback. SC-FDE is less sensitive to nonlinear power amplifiers than OFDM while its complexity and performance is comparable. This paper proposes a frequency diversity technique for single-antenna BPSK SC-FDE systems using repeated QPSK transmissions with rearranged transmission patterns.

  • 귀금속의 가격 앙등은 치과보철치료에 있어서 비귀금속합금의 이용을 촉진 시키고 있다. 가공의치 제작에 비귀금속합금을 이용할 경우에는 납착상태에 대한 신빙성 문제로 인하여 one-piece cast법이 널리 사용되고 있으나 이에 의하여 제작된 가공의치의 적합도에 관하여는 논의가 분분하다. 고로 저자는 one-piece cast법에 의한 비귀금속 가공의치에 있어서 경화수축에 따른 거리변화를 계측현미경을 이용하여 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 4개 치아를 포함하는 가공의치 제작에 있어서 Hi-Temp 매몰재는 비귀금속합금(Lite-Cast B)의 수축을 보상하고도 남음이 있다. 2. Hi-Temp에 사용되는 액(液)을 증류수로 희석할 경우 그 농도 조절에 의하여 Hi-Temp 매몰재의 팽창을 크게 변화시킬 수 있다. 3. one-piece cast법에 의한 가공의치 제작의 문제점은 두 지대치의 서로 바라보고 있는 인접면간의 거리는 증가됨이 없이 외측 인접면간의 거리만 다소 증가되어야 한다는 것이다. 4. 비귀금속합금을 이용하여 수직적인 큰 변형없이 4개 치아가 포함되는 가공의치를 제작할 수 있다. 5. 수개 치아를 포함하는 가공의치의 주조 정확도를 계측할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 창안하였다.

Preliminary Tests of Mortars Containing Magnetite as Fine Aggregate (자철석 혼입 모르터의 기초물성 연구)

  • In this project a preliminary experimental research work was done to apply mortars containing magnetite as fine aggregates unto floor finishing materials in order to make indoor environment eco-friendly and to have noiseproof control between floors. Crushed magnetites were substituted as sands in the mix design with a range of 0, 20, 40, 60, 100%. First far-infrared radiation tests to determine emissivity and emission power were done in accordance with the KICM test standard and an outstanding result was obtained. Density and compressive strength test results also showed that as the substitution increases, test values increase in a linear trend. However dry shrinkage test results revealed that as the substitution increases, shrinkage strain also increases. To clearly seek a solution about this problem, more experimental works should be done on oncoming experimental program.

Premature Ventricular Contraction Classification through R Peak Pattern and RR Interval based on Optimal R Wave Detection (최적 R파 검출 기반의 R피크 패턴과 RR간격을 통한 조기심실수축 분류)

  • Previous works for detecting arrhythmia have mostly used nonlinear method such as artificial neural network, fuzzy theory, support vector machine to increase classification accuracy. Most methods require higher computational cost and larger processing time. Therefore it is necessary to design efficient algorithm that classifies PVC(premature ventricular contraction) and decreases computational cost by accurately detecting feature point based on only R peak through optimal R wave. For this purpose, we detected R wave through optimal threshold value and extracted RR interval and R peak pattern from noise-free ECG signal through the preprocessing method. Also, we classified PVC in realtime through RR interval and R peak pattern. The performance of R wave detection and PVC classification is evaluated by using 9 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database that included over 30. The achieved scores indicate the average of 99.02% in R wave detection and the rate of 94.85% in PVC classification.

A comparison study of Bayesian high-dimensional linear regression models (베이지안 고차원 선형 회귀분석에서의 비교연구)

  • We consider linear regression models in high-dimensional settings (p ≫ n) and compare various classes of priors. The spike and slab prior is one of the most widely used priors for Bayesian regression models, but its model space is vast, resulting in a bad performance in finite samples. As an alternative, various continuous shrinkage priors, including the horseshoe prior and its variants, have been proposed. Although each of the above priors has been investigated separately, exhaustive comparative studies of their performance have been conducted very rarely. In this study, we compare the spike and slab prior, the horseshoe prior and its variants in various simulation settings. The performance of each method is demonstrated in terms of the regression coefficient estimation and variable selection. Finally, some remarks and suggestions are given based on comprehensive simulation studies.

  • Legacy study for detecting arrhythmia have mostly used nonlinear method to increase classification accuracy. Most methods are complex to process and manipulate data and have difficulties in classifying various arrhythmias. Therefore it is necessary to classify various arrhythmia based on short-term data. In this study, we propose a feature extraction based on auto regressive modeling and an premature contraction arrhythmia classification method using SVM., For this purpose, the R-wave is detected in the ECG signal from which noise has been removed, QRS and RR interval segment is modelled. Also, we classified Normal, PVC, PAC through SVM in realtime by extracting four optimal segment length and AR order. The detection and classification rate of R wave and PVC is evaluated through MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The performance results indicate the average of 99.77% in R wave detection and 99.23%, 97.28%, 96.62% in Normal, PVC, PAC classification.

A Study of Relations of Chain Lengths and Properties for Bifunctional linear DGEBF/Linear Amino (EDA, HMDA) Cure Systems (선형 이관능성 DGEBF/선형아민(EDA, HMDA) 경화계의 경화제 사슬길이와 물성과의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • To determine the effect of chain length and chemical structure of linear amine curing agents on thermal and mechanical properties, a standard bifunctional linear DGEBF epoxy resin was cured with EDA and HMDA having amine group at the both ends of main chain in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio in condition of preliminary and post cure. From this work, the effect of linear amine curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties is significantly influenced by numbers of carbon atoms of main chain. In contrast, the results show that the DCEBF/EDA system having two carbons had higher values in the thermal stability, density, shrinkage (%), grass transition temperature, tensile modulus and strength, flexural modulus and strength than the DGEBF/HMDA system having six carbons, whereas the DGEBF/EDA cure system had relatively low values in maximum ekothermic temperature, maximum conversion of epoxide, thermal expansion coefficient than the DGEBF/HDMA cure system. These findings indicate that the packing capability (rigid property) in the EDA structure affects the thermal and mechanical properties predominantly. It shows that flexural fracture properties have a close relation to flexural modulus and strength.

Age Dependent Behaviors of Composite Girders Subjected to Concrete Shrinkage and Creep (건조수축과 크리프에 의한 합성형 거더의 재령종속적 거동)

  • An incremental approach to predict the time dependent flexural behavior of composite girder is presented in the framework of incremental finite element method. Age dependent nature of creep, shrinkage, and maturing of elastic modulus of concrete is prescribed in the incremental tangent description of constitutive relation derived based on the first order Taylor series expansion applying to the total from of stress-strain relation. The loop phenomenon in which age dependent nature of concrete causes stress redistribution and it causes creep in turn is taken into account in the formulation through the incremental representation of constitutive relation. The developed algorithm predicts the time dependent deflections of 4.8m long two span double composite box girder subjected to shrinkage, maturing of elastic modulus, and creep initially induced by self weight. Comparison shows a good agreement between the predicted and measured results.

Normal blood pressure values and percentile curves measured by oscillometric method in children under 6 years of age (진동식 자동 혈압계로 측정한 6세 이하 아동의 정상 혈압치와 백분위수 곡선)

  • Purpose : Hypertension is defined as average systolic blood pressure and/or diastolic blood pressure that is ${\geq}95^{th}$ percentile for gender, age, and height on ${\geq}three$ occasions. Knowing that blood pressure values increase in children as they grow older, the purposes of this study were to measure blood pressure by an oscillometric device and to determine normal values and percentile curves for children. Methods : Systolic and diastolic blood pressures were measured twice with an oscillometric device in 3,545 boys and 3,145 girls under six years of age, in Seoul. Using this data, we determined average blood pressure values and percentile curves based on gender and age; we subdivided these values into blood pressures of $50^{th}$, $90^{th}$, $95^{th}$, and $99^{th}$ percentiles, by percentile of height. The regression coefficients and standard deviations of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were obtained from linear regression models. Results : Older boys and girls had higher systolic and diastolic blood pressure values. Older boys and girls in the same percentile of height for age had higher systolic and diastolic blood pressure values. Taller boys and girls within the same age group had higher systolic and diastolic blood pressure values. Conclusion : Blood pressure standards based on gender, age, and height were obtained via an oscillometric method. Llimitation of this study is that the study population was not from the whole country, but exclusively from Seoul. Nonetheless, the data from this study will be helpful in diagnosing and managing hypertension in Korean children.

Evaluation of Nozzle's Combustion Instability Suppression Effect by Linearized Euler Equation (선형 오일러 방정식을 이용한 노즐의 연소불안정 감쇠 효과 평가)

  • The wave motion inside the nozzle is known as one of the major damping elements of the rocket's combustion instability by it's aeroacoustic effects that result from the flow passage through the nozzle throat. These effects can be quantitatively evaluated by the nozzle admittance. In this study, one-dimensional linearized Euler equation was adopted to calculate the nozzle admittance, and trend analysis was performed depending on the nozzle's main design variables. As a result, when nozzle converging part shortens, it is verified that the frequency dependency of the nozzle admittance is decreased due to the widened frequency range with lowered longitudinal nozzle admittance. Also, admittance estimation using the short nozzle theory is not appropriate when the first tangential mode of the pressure perturbation arises.
