  • This research studied Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning("小學枝言") and Private Examination of Classic of the Mind("心經密驗") from the ethical perspective. Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning and Private Examination of Classic of the Mind are writings that play a role of bridge between Chinese classics(經學) and Theory of Statecraft(經世論). These two essays were written for the purpose of putting virtue into practice, which had been attained by studying Chinese classics, through a vehicle called Theory of Statecraft. If Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning called as a book of cultivation of outward morality or outward behavior, then Private Examination of Classic of the Mind is the book for cultivation of inward temperament. The 'practice' emphasized by Dasan through these two essays denotes ceaseless efforts toward goodness or virtue. Such efforts can be interpreted as 'ethical practice', if looked at from the perspective of aggressive struggle toward virtue. Dasan, in these two essays, had stressed to practice Good(善) through positive and lively actions. The matter of Good and Bad(善惡) in humans is not associated with their mind, but related to their practice. That is to say, humans may turn out to be good through means of 'ethical practice'. For Dasan, 'ethical practice' toward Good should have to be continued and upheld not only in the course of self-cultivation, but also in 'establishing relationship' with others. Such an assertion of Dasan was to lay emphasis on accomplishment of 'ethical practice' toward Good amid close relationship between personal and social ethics. Also, Dasan had emphasized free will(自由意志) in humans. This means that Good and Bad will be determined according to humans' free will, and to the same extent, that humans are responsible for its consequence. It is noted that Dasan had stressed that any human having free will should have to be a 'man of virtue'(君子) through means of 'ethical practice'.

동중서(董仲舒)의 인성론에 관한 연구

  • 董仲舒以爲性是自然的本質, 猶荀子所謂 "性者, 天之就也", 與孟子所謂"人之有是四端也, 猶其有四體也" 生而自然意義相同。也因爲董仲舒說性是自然樸實的本質。董仲舒以天生民性, 人以副天爲基礎, 以陰陽分性情。董仲舒所說的性, 有廣義與狹義之分, 廣義者泛指人性說, 包含性與情; 狹義者是單指與情分離的性來說。董仲舒認爲以陽爲善, 陰爲惡。而在性屬陽, 陰屬情的觀點上, 則性爲陽爲善, 情爲陰爲惡。而董仲舒基於 "天兩, 有陰陽之施, 身亦兩, 有貪仁之性", 他的人性說爲性善情惡的善惡混論, 故只有中民之性才是董仲舒所指稱的性。而董仲舒以人性具有陽善陰惡之質, 但不是善的決定要素, 董仲舒以米與禾作比喩。他將善質與善的關係比喩禾與米, 目與見物的關係, 禾待舂碾才能爲米; 目須覺醒才能見物, 性要待敎而爲善。

  • The main purpose of this dissertation is a introductive proposal to reconstruct confucian moral principles. The most classical question in moral principles is : what is the good. In order to reconstruct confucian moral principles, this dissertation begin with question of what is the good in confucian moral principles. Confucianism believe in reality of the human good mind and good nature. Confucian the human good mind and good nature is comprised of benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom. Benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom(四德) is the origin of morality. Confucian's moral principles of human relationship is none other than conscientiousness and altruism. Conscientiousness is a principle of self-cultivation and self-revelation. As to altruism, confucious said, "the man of perfect virtue, wishing to be established himself", or "do not impose on others what you do not desire others to impose upon you." Altruism is rectified as a principle of reciprocity methodology of the making of whole kingdom peaceful in The Great Learning. Confucian golden rule(conscientiousness and altruism is equal to Kantian categorical imperative in The Fundamental principles of Metaphysics of Ethics. : Act only on that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law ... etc. Kant's three principles of moral philosophy(Categorical Imperatives) imply that the idea of universality, freedom, and the kingdom of ends. We contrast confucian moral principles with Kant's three principles of Categorical Imperatives. In conclusion, confucian moral principles implicate Kant's principle of universalizability and impartiality.

  • Purpose: In fact, to manage response and recovery successfully, although mitigation and preparedness should be accomplished naturally and automatically through thorough analysis and assessment, response, recovery, mitigation, and preparedness have not done in the way of virtuous cycles and continued broken disaster management repeatedly. Method: By Analysis through the critical methods, to enhance the community disaster resilience centered by social disaster management system in Korea, Result: (1) public training & education preparing for emergency or disaster (2) supplying public with disaster, or hazards information, and sharing at real time (3) networking emergency and disaster informational communication system & alarm system (4) analysis and assessment of risk(or disaster) in community (5) inter-governmental cooperative relationship and agreements (6) adopting and implementing disaster or hazards mitigation plan Conclusion: These will be able to be fully melt down into and specifically focused in the disaster policies in Korea for the better disaster management.

  • The Chinese classic 'The Great Learning' presents a guideline in which direction we should go for the character education and the realization of a just society. It conveys the message, 'Everyone must remain at the level of goodness for our community based on training our own mind and body.' Goodness is a generic concept that means universal truth in the right direction. This study aims to present the direction of communication education for how everyone should stay in goodness. Communication education about goodness could be conducted as follows. Based on the theory of interpersonal communication and persuasive communication, first the abstract concept of goodness is understood, brainstorming and schema activity for the good are performed for true communication, and then the teaching and learning method combining debate, flipped learning, and writing could be utilized. It is difficult to provide communication education with the message of goodness with students who have grown up on the basis of comparatively cramming education. However, through communication using discussion, a paradigm shift in education will take place, and it will not only help form human relationships, but also recognize the importance of the meaning of the community in the society in which we live, and ultimately it will help foster character.

  • Su-un 'sicheonju' is emphasised transcendency of god that it is sincerity, earnestness and belief in the practice ethics. But he is exhibited the ancient sage-kings of ancient propriety and humanity, righteousness, propriety and wisdom. Su-un 'sicheonju' change 'insicheon' of Hae-wol at immanence of god the emphasis. He is exhibited 'sainyeocheon' in the practice ethics. Eu-am is changed 'Innaecheon' more immanence of god the emphasis. He exhibit good the subject of human. It's the change cause research Su-un. He exhibit Confucianism ethics at the same time as point out Confucianism because Hae-wol and Eu-am is changed the emphasis at the subject of human. It is influenced pantheism and the theory of social evolution.

  • Jeong Yakyong deconstructs the Li theory of human nature in order to restore the original tradition of Confucius and Mencius. He downgrades theoretical statuses of Taeguk(ultimate pole) and Li, and denies truth values of the sameness premise of human nature and Li. He argues that human nature must be non other than mind's preference, and thus that human substance must not be human nature, but mind. Since mind can do good things as well as bad things, he tries to lead mind to do good things by way of restoring a primitive worship for Sangje(heavenly emperor). However, his major concepts and premises do not fit with original meanings of old confucian biblical books. Futhermore, his preference theory of human nature contains many contradictions and errors. Thus, his theory could not be evaluated as one which had transcended the Li theory of human nature.

Woo-dam(愚潭) and Nok-mun(鹿門)'s understanding about the ground of universality in the pure goodness and its bases on the realization - Focusing on the analysis of Yul-gok(栗谷)'s all penetrating Li and defining Ch'i (선(善)의 보편성(普遍性)과 실현근거 관한 우담(愚潭)과 녹문(鹿門)의 이해 - 리통기국(理通氣局)에 대한 해석을 중심으로 -)

  • There exists various advantages and disadvantages with various thoughts in human beings. Therefore, it causes very complicated conflict by these diversity. It would be impossible if there would not be solved in classes, areas, schools, cultures whether it is simple or complicated. The proposition which totally shows these logic are Cheng-Yi(程頤, 1033-1107)'s principle is one but its manifestations are many(理一分殊) and Yul-gok(栗谷, 1536-1584)'s all penetrating Li and defining Ch'i. The main concern is how to realize concretly the pure goodness in theory of principal and vital force. There are opinion which Li shows it's pure goodness initiatively and it only has to be shown through Ch'i. Toi-gyeo(退溪, 1501-1570)and Woo-dam(愚潭, 1625-1707) thought the subjectivity lies on Li which shows itself even though Li can't shows itself. On the while, Yul-gok thought it realize through Ch'i, and Li has the superintendence which Li shows itself through Ch'i. Regardless with above, Nok-mun(鹿門, 1711-1788) had the point of view which pure goodness come to realize by the coincidence of Li and Ch'i, on the same time, it didn't matter whether the subjectivity lay on Li or Ch'i, Li showed by nature while Ch'i did by vital energy controlled and worked together. While Yul-gok established his theoretical ground of universality in the best pure good and its bases on the realization, Woo-dam put an emphasis on the practice and realization of goodness to endow with its positive meaning. On the contrary of it, Nok-mun emphasised vital enerty, that is, enabled to realize goodness which premised Li and Ch'i are reciprocally related to other in non-segregated condition(理氣不相離). Still however, the most important thing is how the rightness can be concreately explained which human have to practice its pure goodness. It is not restricted on the Sung Confucianism, it is the material question in philosophy.
