The Comparison of Analytical Methods for Gypsum and Gypsum Slurry (석고 및 석고 슬러리에 대한 분석방법의 비교)

  • The purity of gypsum and quantitation of impurities of flue gas gypsum will not only play an important role in deciding of the optimal condition during a trial run of FGD (flue gas desulfurization), but also can be utilized in quality control of gypsum. The purity of gypsum can be determined from combined water, sulfur trioxide and calcium concentration. We found that the thermal analysis by TGA (thermogravimetric analysis) was the most accurate and convenient method to determine the purity of gypsum. This method will be done in a hour and the results were reproducible. On the other hand, the best way of the analysis of impurities in gypsum was fusion method using $LiBO_2$ as a fusion agent. We also determined the amount of $CO_2$ gas to analyze magnesium carbonate and calcium carbonate contents. The analyses of combined water by TGA, fusion method followed by ICP-AES (inductively coupled plasmaatomic emission spectroscopy) and determination of $CO_2$ amount can lead to more accurate and convenient method for gypsum analysis.

So I try to objectify Sasagn Consitutional Classification of Gypsum Fibrosum in DongyiSooseBowon. Among the soyangin(少陽人) Pyobyung(表病) prescription, Fever MangYin Symptom(fever, headache, diarrhea) prescription include Gypsum Fibrosum, Cold MangYin Symptom(cold, pain in abdomen, diarrhea) prescription does not include Gypsum Fibrosum. So, I to make manifest the spirit of using Gypsum Fibrosum in Soyangin(少陽人) PyoByung(表炳), and the differences of two symptom, and the literature on this subject, I searched oriental medical books. 2. result 1. Fire Resistance Performance of High Strength Concrete Columns with Fireproof Gypsum Board (방화석고보드를 부착한 고강도 콘크리트 기둥의 내화성능)

  • In this study, fire resistance performance of high strength concrete specimen with fireproof gypsum board was investigated for possible use in upgrading fire-resistant performance of the existing building and repair of fire damaged structures. Fire test of eight identical high strength concrete columns were carried out for 180 minutes in accordance with ISO-834. The temperature distributions in longitudinal reinforcement and concrete temperature at various depths were recorded. The fireproof performance of gypsum board and explosive spalling of concrete were observed. The specimens with 15 mm thick twoply fireproof gypsum board spalled after gypsum board crumbled regardless of fastening methods. However, when the thickness of fireproof gypsum board was more than 30 mm, it was possible to prevent the explosive spalling and control the rebar temperature. Although the effect of cover thickness could not be compared because the explosive spalling occurred, there seemed to be no difference in insulation efficiency.

Determination of $^{226}Ra$ Isotope in the Leachate around Phosphogypsum Stack Using Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid (EDTA) (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)를 이용한 인산석고 야적장 침출수 중의 $^{226}Ra$ 분석법 개발)

  • Ba is the most useful element to get the $Ba(Ra)SO_4$ precipitate. However, when the high concentrations of ions such as sulfate, calcium are existed in the leachate of phosphogypsum stack, it is difficult to get the $Ba(Ra)SO_4$ precipitate. Since this reason, the developed method for the Ba coprecipitate using EDTA was performed to determine the $^{226}Ra$ concentration in the high sulfate sample. The average concentration of $^{226}Ra$ in a leachate of phosphogypsum using this method was 0.102 $Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ and the minimal detectable activity is 3.4 $mBq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$. The $^{226}Ra$ stock solution and the CRM (Certified Reference Material) were analyzed to verify this method. In analyzed $^{226}Ra$ stock solution, bias with added concentration was approximately 1% and the correlation curve between $^{226}Ra$ concentration in simulated standard sample and measured $^{226}Ra$ concentration showed good agreement with a correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of 0.99. In analyzed CRM, maximum bias with reference value was 5.8% (k=1) and the analytical results were in good agreement with the reference value.

Uniformity of Large Gypsum-cemented Specimens Fabricated by Air Pluviation Method (낙사법으로 조성된 대형 석고 고결시료의 균질성)

  • The method to prepare the large cemented sand specimen for calibration chamber test by air-pluviation is investigated in this study. The uniformity of cemented specimen is evaluated by performing the CPTs, DMTs, and bender element tests in the calibration chamber. The sand particles, pre-wetted with 0.5% water content, are mixed with gypsum to provide the homogeneous coating of gypsum particles on the grain surface. It was shown that the pre-wetting of particle surface is effective to minimize the potential for segregation between sands and gypsum during air-pluviation. It was observed that the extreme void ratios ($e_{max}\;and\;e_{mix}$) of the mixture of pre-wetted sand and gypsum powder increase at lower gypsum content while those of the mixture of dry sand and gypsum decrease with increasing gypsum content. It was also shown from the test results that large cemented specimens reconstituted in calibration chamber by rainer system are quite uniform in vertical and horizontal directions.

A Study on the Properties of Foamed Concrete with Plaster Using the Experimental Design (실험계획법을 이용한 석고 혼입 기포콘크리트의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This research was performed through the experimental design to get the statistical analysis on foamed concrete mixed plaster with hydrogen peroxide. In this experiment, we set the ratio of each material, which part of lightweight concrete, as experimental factors and evaluated on the mechanical properties by statistical analysis for response variables obtained from experiments. Experimental factors are plaster replacement, water binder ratio, and hydrogen peroxide ratio. Response variables are dry density, compressive strength, and flexural strength. Mixing design of the foamed concrete set up a total of 15 experimental points by Box-Behnken (BB) method of the response surface analysis. Thus, the results of a study were summarized as follows. Values of the probability in experimental factors (plaster replacement, water binder ratio and hydrogen peroxide ratio) on the response variables were estimated to be significant at the 95% of confidence limit. On response surface analysis for dry density of foamed concrete, water binder ratio and hydrogen peroxide ratio were estimated to be significant (${\alpha}$ = 0.05), and the relationship between the amount of void and the water content for dry density is inverse proportional. On response surface analysis for the compressive strength of foamed concrete, water binder ratio, hydrogen peroxide ratio and (hydrogen peroxide ratio)$^2$ was estimated to be significant (${\alpha}$ = 0.05). On response surface analysis for the flexural strength of foamed concrete, water binder ratio, hydrogen peroxide ratio was estimated to be significant (${\alpha}$ = 0.05). Through multi response surface analysis, we found the optimal area that meets performance goals.
