Research on Relative Importance of Business Model Factors by Using AHP Method : Focused on Knowledge Service Firm (AHP분석을 활용한 비즈니스모델 구성요인의 상대적 중요도 연구 : 지식서비스기업을 대상으로)

  • This study analyzed relative importance among business model factors for improving business performance of Knowledge Service Enterprises using the Business Model methodology. It also compares and analyzes the relative importance of manufacturing enterprises by using the previous research conclusion. This study finds Product & Service factor(0.361) is the most important among Marketing(0.251), Financial aspects(0.234), and Infrastructure(0.154) are follows. For the sub factors, Value Proposition(0.254) is the most importance factors and Revenue Streams(0.154), and Key Activities(0.107), and Key Resources(0.100), and Channels(0.086) are follows. Also, The Marketing has higher relative importance for Manufacturing enterprises, whereas the Product&Service has higher relative importance for Knowledge Service Enterprises. It proves that there is a difference in the relative importance between Manufacturing Enterprises and Knowledge Service Enterprises. This study concludes the importance of business model factor is different for each respective industry. Therefore, it suggests to consider different industrial aspects when build the business model for each industry.

Voluntary Choice of Part-time Work and Job Satisfaction (시간제근로에서 자발성과 일자리 만족)

  • One of the key features of the Korean labor market is that, even though the central axis of employment has shifted from manufacturing sector to service sector, the ratio of part-time work is very low. Its major reasons are low wage rate, insufficient fringe benefits including social insurance, and deficient job security, even though part-time work has positive characteristics. This study examines whether part-time work would be a decent one and an alternative to full-time work by answering two questions: one is who chooses part-time work and another is whether part-time work is satisfactory. Analyses of 3,971 wage workers in the 8th wave of the Korea Labor and Income Panel Survey reveal that, as expected, part-time work is prevalent among the young, married women, and the old supporting the results from previous studies and that choosing part-time work on one's initiatives has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction for women while it is not for men. Form the result, it can be concluded that part-time work can be an appropriate alternative for full-time work if one chooses it voluntarily.

The Formative Factors and the Economic Effects of the Basic Job Skills in Korea (한국사회의 직업기초능력의 결정 요인 및 경제적 성과)

  • This article analyzes the formative factors of the basic job skills(also the ability of computer using) and the economic effects of the basic job skills in Korea. This article uses the ALL(Adult Literacy and Life Skills) 2005 data in Korea. The factors which form the basic job skills are school years, father's education. Women are under men in the ability of computer using. The older a man grow, the more basic job skills he has, but the less ability of computer using he has. The employees in office worker or new service industry have more using computer ability than them in sales worker or manufacture industry. The wage effects of the basic job skills are insignificant, and the economic effects of basic job skills appear apparently in the entry into the good jobs. As the basic job skills can play a important role to enter into the good jobs, the policy agenda should make deal with the methods and programs through which the people without basic job skills must have the opportunities to get a lifelong learning for the basic job skills.

  • This paper illustrates not only the effectiveness of applying content quota system for on-demand video streaming platform, but also the effect of OTT regulation on copyright protection and cultural industry protection in a single market, focusing on the community's response to Netflix's entry into the EU market. Additionally, this paper examines on-demand video streaming services, growth of Netflix. The EU policy on the on-demand video streaming service market consists of 'portability' in the digital single market and content quota for copyright protection. In this paper, I analyze the market protection and the aspect of improving competitiveness of online streaming service industry. The EU is trying to protect the cultural industry and copyright protection in the region by applying and regulating the OTT business in content quota system, which has been applied only to European broadcasting companies.

Analysis of Perceptions on Safety and Health Training and Measures to Improve the Training (안전보건교육에 대한 인식 분석 및 개선 방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest measures to improve safety and health training by analyzing trainees who participated in the training programs. A survey was administered to 226 trainees who participated in and completed the safety and health training programs provided by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. The study results showed that the level of satisfaction of employers for the training programs was the lowest compared to the middle managers and employees. Moreover, the middle managers' job competencies were increased, and they applied newly acquired knowledge and skills to their jobs. However, there were significant differences between industries. Finally, although all levels of trainee agreed on the effectiveness of safety and health training, the perceptions of employers were lower than those of employees. Based on these study results, several implications to improve the safety and health training were suggested.

The Causes of Demand Increase and the Real State of Non-Standard Workers (비정형근로자의 활용실태와 수요증가의 원인 -사업체 조사를 중심으로-)

  • According to the survey results on non-standard employment, most of the non-standard workers are women and work at service jobs and some jobs that do not require firm-specific skill. Also wages of non-standard workers appear to be lower than those of standard workers by 10~19%. Non-standard workers are very much likely to be excluded from beneficiaries of economic growth because job contents and ability are not important relatively as criteria in determining their basic wage and their benefits are also much lower in severance pay and bonuses, vacations, 4 social insurances, education and training opportunities. Because of very low rate of union membership, the working conditions of non-standard workers are not expected to be improvable easily by unions. It seems that the reason of the demand increase for non-standard workers is mainly because not only an individual establishment demands quantitative flexibility in employment, but also there are tendencies of being smaller in establishment size and of growing service industries macro-economically. The number of non-standard workers are expected to increase continuously in the future, too.

Location Factors Determining Hair-style Service Sales (미용서비스업체의 입지요인과 경영성과에 관한 실증연구)

  • This paper aims to examine the location factors affecting small service business performance, especially hair-style service business sales which are assumed to be dependent on outskirts' residents. In contrast to the prior research, this study measures sales amount as business success factors rather than business man's satisfaction level or customers' royalty. The empirical results show that hair-style service business can be determined by visibility and access level of its shop. In addition, its sales can be influenced by hairstyling chair, but its sales per a designer can impacted by hairstyling chair. This study also presents additional examinations about several independent factors which can have influence on hair-style business performance and several location traits that can have an significant influence on its sales volume.

The Effect of Job Training in Korea on Employment and Wage (직업훈련의 취업 및 임금효과)

  • The empirical study that used the logit model and the Heckman's selection bias model based upon 'Korea Labor & Income Panel Study' shows that the experience of job training has a positive effect on the probability of employment, as well as on the wage increase. The analysis also sheds light on the effect on employment with wage workers who experienced job training. When the discouraged unemployed are not classified as labor force participants, that is the unemployed, and the industrial dummy variables are excluded, logit estimation shows that training program in the public sector, not in the private sector, significantly increases their employment probability. However when these same workers are classified as the unemployed and the industrial dummies are included, logit estimation shows that public and private training programs has no effect on their employability.

A study on composite precedence indices focusing on Jeju (제주지역 경기선행종합지수에 관한 연구)

  • The developed composite index has limits to estimate and predict economic status due to economic pattern change and the response change of explanatory variables. A higher precedence individual indicators should be selected to predict the future accurately. In this study, effectiveness of Jeju Island precedence indicators consists of constituents in the area, the consumer price index, services production index, mining and manufacturing production index. The average temperature of Seogwipo and credit card purchase amount is reviewed as an economic turning point consideration and time lag correlation analysis with real data. In addition, we suggest the proper reference cycle in Jeju composite precedence index and evaluate the configuration in leading indicators for Jeju by comparing national economic indicators. Based on the derived results, the current problems of Jeju Island precedence indicators will be illustrated and the improvement methods to estimate a regional composite index will be suggested.

Exposure Assessment of Diesel Engine Exhaust among Door-to-door Deliverers in Daegu (대구지역 택배서비스업 종사자의 디젤엔진배출물 노출 평가)

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the diesel engine exhaust (DEE) exposure levels of door-to-door deliverers in Daegu from July to September. Methods: We measured exposure levels of DEE surrogates for the same door-to-door deliverers who joined the particulate matter 2.5 exposure study previously published in this journal. Black carbon(BC) concentrations were measured using real-time BC monitoring devices with 1 minute interval. $NO_2$ concentrations were monitored using passive badges. DEE exposure data were analyzed using the same characteristics and GPS information as the first study. Results: A total of 40 measurements of BC concentrations and $NO_2$ concentrations were collected during delivery of parcels. The average exposure levels to BC, and $NO_2$ were $2.23{\mu}g/m^3$ ($0.001-350.85{\mu}g/m^3$) and 21.26 ppb(3.3-61.37 ppb), respectively. Exposure levels to BC according to the day of a week and coverage areas were not significantly different(p>0.05). Delivery trucks manufactured before 2006 caused significantly higher exposure to BC than the trucks manufactured after 2006(p<0.05). Exposure levels of BC integrated for each time in residential area and roadsides were $1.96{\mu}g/m^3$ and $3.46{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.001). The Pearson correlation coefficients between the ambient $PM_{2.5}$ and BC was significant, r=0.26(p<0.01); however, the correlations between $PM_{2.5}$ and ambient $PM_{2.5}$, and between BC of DEE and $PM_{2.5}$ of DEE did not show a significant correlation Conclusions: BC and $NO_2$ exposure levels were significantly lower when door-to-door deliverers drove newer trucks. BC exposure levels of deliverers were higher in roadsides than in residential area. DEE from nearby vehicles through open windows might be the main source of BC exposure.
