Optimum Maintenance Strategy of Bridges Based on System Reliability (시스템 신뢰성에 기초한 교량의 최적 유지관리 계획)

  • Bridge construction is almost complete in many countries. Thus, the government and highway agencies change their focus from constructing to maintaining. Effectively maintaining bridges require predicting their lifespan using a system reliability viewpoint. Likewise, maintenance models based on the system reliability concept should be developed. Thus, this study developed maintenance models for preventive maintenance and essential maintenance using system reliability and lifetime distributions. The optimal maintenance strategy for an existing bridge was obtained using the developed maintenance models.

  • Construction of highway bridges is almost complete in many countries. Thus, the government and highway agencies are shifting their remaining life span from the viewpoint of system reliability. As such, it is necessary to develop maintenance models based on system reliability concept. In this paper, preventive and essential maintenance models were developed using system reliability and lifetime distribution.

  • The main objective is to predict the future degradation and maintenance budget for a suspension bridge system. Bayesian inference is applied to find the posterior probability density function of the source parameters (damage indices and serviceability), given ten years of maintenance data. The posterior distribution of the parameters is sampled using a Markov chain Monte Carlo method. The simulated risk prediction for decreased serviceability conditions are posterior distributions based on prior distribution and likelihood of data updated from annual maintenance tasks. Compared with conventional linear prediction model, the proposed quadratic model provides highly improved convergence and closeness to measured data in terms of serviceability, risky factors, and maintenance budget for bridge components, which allows forecasting a future performance and financial management of complex infrastructures based on the proposed quadratic stochastic regression model.

Development of A Model for Diagnosing Management Capabilities of Public Facility (공공시설물관리 역량 진단 모델 개발)

  • Recently, the aging of public facilities in Korea have accelerated, and the existing framework for facility management is shifting toward to facility asset management in terms of performance-based proactive control. Therefore, the operation of public facility involves both safety assurance from the deteriorated facilities and management capabilities for sustainable maintenance in the required valuation and level of service, such as valuation of facility assets, life-cycle management plans, financing, and so on. In this study, the Facility Asset Management Indicator(FAMI) has been developed for public facility asset management, and it provides the quantitative management grade, based on international standards, such as ISO 55000 series and International Infrastructure Management Manual(IIMM). The FMMI includes 10 key areas to apply a diagnosis model into management capabilities, 113 detailed elements, and 5 maturity grades. As the importance of public facility asset management is increasing constantly, this is expected to identify previously the strengths and weaknesses of public facility operating institutions. Eventually, they can obtain the effective ways to improve their own capabilities, minimize the public funds, establish the strategies for innovating the current management structures, and operate stably the facilities in the required performance.

  • 오늘날의 기업은 상품을 판매하는 것 뿐만 아니라 기업의 신용과 이미지를 위해 그 상품에 대한 사후처리(After Service) 업무에 많은 투자를 하고 있다. 이러한 양질의 사후서비스를 고객에게 공급하기 위해서는 많은 인력을 합리적으로 관리해야 하며 요청되는 고장수리 서비스 업무의 신속한 해결을 위해 업무를 인력에게 합리적으로 배정을 해야 한다. 그러므로, 회사의 비용을 최소화하면서 정해진 시간에 요청된 작업을 처리하기 위해서는 인력들에게 작업을 배정하고 스케줄링하는 문제가 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 화학계기의 A/S작업을 인력에게 합리적으로 배정 하는 스케줄링 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 먼저 스케줄링 모델을 HP사의 화학분석 및 시스템을 판매, 유지보수 해주는 Y사의 작업 스케줄을 분석하여 필요한 도메인과 고객서비스전략과 인력관리전략에서 제약조건을 추출하였고 여기에 스케줄링 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 제약만족문제(CSP) 해결기법인 도메인 여과기법을 적용하였다. 도메인 여과기법은 제약조건에 의해 변수가 갖는 도메인의 불필요한 부분을 여과하는 것으로 제약조건과 관련되어 있는 변수의 도매인 크기가 축소되는 것이다. 또한, 스케줄링을 하는데에 있어서 비용적인 측면에서의 스케줄링방법과 고객만족도에서의 스케줄링 방법을 비교하여 가장 이상적인 해를 찾는데 트래이드오프(Trade-off)를 이용하여 최적의 해를 구했으며 실험을 통해 인력에게 더욱 효율적으로 작업들을 배정 할 수 있었고 또한, 정해진 시간에 많은 작업을 처리 할 수 있었으며 작업을 처리하는데 있어 소요되는 비용을 감소하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • It is critical to effectively change the measures of prevention from the breakdown maintenance proceeding an apartment housing maintenance task scope. It is necessary that systematization be performed for a series of tasks, such as facility inspection, diagnosis and replacement. In addition, it is preceded by establishing a standardization for maintenance work scope. Therefore, this study examined the problems related to public rental housing maintenance work scope to manage it more systematically. In addition, the study suggests a work process section for facility repairs, long term replacement and general maintenance using one on one interviews with experts to classify the occupants, management office and head office. This study's standard work system is expected to provide fairness and transparency in addition to improving the productivity in public rental housing maintenance via an efficiency promotion plan. In addition, it is used as the basic reference for developing a system of public rental housing maintenance costs and diagnosis actions. Finally, it is necessary to create improvements that provide a more objective work system standardization throughout the analysis of the productivity data according to the work flow and the review of the occupants, management office and head office in the future applications of the pilot site.

  • The level of information protection is relatively low, in comparison with the informatisation in this country. The budget for information protection is also quite marginal at 5% of the entire information-related policy budget. The passive information protection practices by companies, which focus more on the aftermaths, lead to repeated expenses for risk management. The responses to the violation of information protection should be changed from the current aftermaths-oriented focus to prevention and early detection of possible violations. We should also realize that the response to a violation of protected information is not a responsibility of an individual but a joint responsibility of the nation and the industry. South Korea has been working towards to building a systematic foundation since 2004 when guidelines were announced regarding the information protection policy and the safety diagnosis. The current level of safety policies cannot provide a perfect protection against actual violation cases in administrative, technological and physical ways. This research evaluates the level of prevention that the current systematic protection policy offers, and discusses its limitation and possible ways for improvement. It also recommends a list effective measures for protection against information violation that companies can employ to maintain the actual target safety level.

  • In recent years, with the rapid development of large and medium-sized urban rail transit in China, the total operating mileage of high-speed railway and the total number of EMUs(Electric Multiple Units) are rising. The system complexity of high-speed EMU is constantly increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety of equipment and the efficiency of maintenance.At present, the maintenance mode of high-speed EMU in China still adopts the post maintenance method based on planned maintenance and fault maintenance, which leads to insufficient or excessive maintenance, reduces the efficiency of equipment fault handling, and increases the maintenance cost. Based on the intelligent operation and maintenance technology of PHM(prognostics and health management). This thesis builds an integrated PHM platform of "vehicle system-communication system-ground system" by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data of different scenarios of high-speed EMU, and combines the equipment fault mechanism with artificial intelligence algorithms to build a fault prediction model for traction motors of high-speed EMU.Reliable fault prediction and accurate maintenance shall be carried out in advance to ensure safe and efficient operation of high-speed EMU.

  • 최근 기업에서는 기업경쟁력 강화의 일환으로 다수의 업무처리솔루션을 활용하여 업무처리의 효율성과 효과성을 제고하기 위해 노력하고 있다. ERP 시스템 또한 이러한 맥락으로 기업에서 활용하는 기업형 솔루션으로서 현재 대부분의 기업에서 이를 활용하여 업무를 처리하고 있으며 많은 연구문헌으로 그 효과가 널리 알려져 있다. 이러한 ERP 시스템은 도입이 중요한 것이 아니라, 도입후의 활용으로 효율성을 증대하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 업무처리능력의 향상. 비용절감효과, 재고의 감소 등 실질적인 성과를 위해서는 시스템의 도입뿐만 아니라 유지보수, 시스템 교육과 같은 사후 관리가 절실히 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기업의 ERP 시스템의 활용을 지원하기 위한 방안으로서 e-learning을 제안한다. 기업에서의 e-learning 활용방안에 대한 문헌은 다수 있지만, ERP 시스템의 지원을 위한 e-learning 활용방안은 부족한 현실이다. 따라서 ERP 시스템과 e-learning 시스템과의 연계모델을 제안하고, ERP 시스템 교육을 위한 방법으로서의 e-learning의 우수성을 증명하고자 한다.

A Long-term Durability Prediction for RC Structures Exposed to Carbonation Using Probabilistic Approach (확률론적 기법을 이용한 탄산화 RC 구조물의 내구성 예측)

  • This paper provides a new approach for durability prediction of reinforced concrete structures exposed to carbonation. In this method, the prediction can be updated successively by a Bayes' theorem when additional data are available. The stochastic properties of model parameters are explicitly taken into account in the model. To simplify the procedure of the model, the probability of the durability limit is determined based on the samples obtained from the Latin Hypercube Sampling(LHS) technique. The new method may be very useful in design of important concrete structures and help to predict the remaining service life of existing concrete structures which have been monitored. For using the new method, in which the prior distribution is developed to represent the uncertainties of the carbonation velocity using data of concrete structures(3700 specimens) in Korea and the likelihood function is used to monitor in-situ data. The posterior distribution is obtained by combining a prior distribution and a likelihood function. Efficiency of the LHS technique for simulation was confirmed through a comparison between the LHS and the Monte Calro Simulation(MCS) technique.
