The aims of the study were to analyze the San-Sul-Kwa textbook under the rule of Japanese Imperialism(1909～1945). It was analyzed that the contents of San-Sul-Kwa were selected for the purpose of national interests of Japanese as a ruling country through four times of amendment of education and many kinds of drill and practice in terms of number and operations were emphasized toward entire grades. However, some parts of textbook over the period seem to have had significant affects on mathematics education of Korea since the period.

In the era of globalization, universal values and empathy are analyzed as important factors in the success of media content. In this context, the perspective of interculturalism is meaningful in K-culture discourse. The TV drama <Itaewon Class> presented a storytelling structure in which the existing order was overturned and new values triumphed. This concept has led to great success in the global market. First of all, it shows multiculturality through the symbolic space of Itaewon. It reproduces people who have various cultural differences in various standards. Characters with diverse values realize intercultural values through cultural dialogue. Such storytelling is evaluated as something that can be widely accepted by people around the world. Interculturalism enables us to seek the direction of sustainable Korean Wave.

Korea society in the 1980s is the timing of the hybrid intermingled with the continuous industrialization in the 1970s and the democratic aspirations of the 1990s. Korean films in the '80s codified a tension and conflict patterns of the industrialization and democratization in the style such as film space. The purpose of this study is to consider how this aspect of industrialization and democratization in the '80s was codified in Korean films of the '80s. Specifically, it focuses on the style representing the urban space in Korean films of the '80s. This study looks at the changing pattern of the Korea Society through the 1980s by analyzing the space configuration form of Good Windy Day(1980) and Chil-su And Man-su(1988). Good Windy Day to finalize the '70s and Chil-su And Man-su to greet the '90s show the hybrid aspect of the '80s. In particular, the urban space style of the two films codified the political, economic and social culture of Korea as a whole.

People are most commonly divided by their nationality, but that does not mean they share the same culture. Even for people from one cultural background, subcultures play an important role for diversity and identity, and popular music is one way to express them. This study analyzed 6 songs of the Hip Hop genre from the US, Germany and South Korea, with one song each from the time of first emergence of the term 'Hip Hop' and one song each from 2016, selected on the basis of popularity indicated by music record sales and specialist literature on the history of Hip Hop. Through semiotic analysis of early and recent Hip Hop in each country, the changes in popular Hip Hop over time were examined. The results of this study show that through standardization, Hip Hop in the three countries has superficially become more similar and more focused on the individual, but on a detailed level shows significant differences: while U.S. Hip Hop refers to the American Dream, German Hip Hop displays an extreme image of masculinity, and Korean Hip Hop deals with private thoughts. Although popular Hip Hop nowadays does not explicitly exercise social criticism it is still ascribed the symbolic significance of a rebellious and revolutionary cultural practice that can be used to criticize and change culture as well as society.

This study was an entertainer who was in charge of female music in the Joseon Dynasty, but the existence of gisaengs, who were recognized as'sexual partners' of the four grandfathers, and the Joseon Dynasty, when their existence was possible. I tried to reveal the social characteristics of Therefore, the research is meaningful in that it attempted to reveal the relationship between the grandfather and the gisaeng from various perspectives, and that it is possible to confirm the various social roles of the gisaeng. In the Confucian society, female musicians were not allowed to participate in Naeyeon and Chinjamrye, where women were the main pillars, so not only could the girl's music survive until the end of the Joseon Dynasty, but it was enough to reveal the existence of a professional artist. The existence of gisaengs is not irrelevant to the social background of the Joseon Dynasty, and therefore, it is impossible to define the Joseon Dynasty with the holy morality of modern society. It is believed that 『catching green onions is expected to enhance the aspect of a gisaeng as a celebrity, based on the interpretation that it is viewed from the perspective of an entertainer possessing an extraordinary and noble spirit rather than portraying the gisaeng in an erotic standard.

In this study, the Korea Youth Policy Institute applied a self-registering model to verify the patterns of parental stress, multicultural youth psychological maladjustment, and interdependence between three factors by using five-point-time data tracked from middle school to high school. According to the analysis, First, Parent' stress at the time of the five surveys had a significant positive effect on the psychological maladjustment and the risk of academic interruption of multicultural adolescents at that point. Second, the psychological maladaptation of multicultural adolescents at the time of the previous five surveys had a significant positive effect on the risk of academic interruption at that point. Based on these analysis results, various support measures were proposed to cope with the stress of multicultural youth parents, and policy alternatives were proposed to prevent the risk of academic interruption by reducing the psychological maladjustment of multicultural youth.

This study aims at exploring the transnational care for family members back home among the Nepalese marriage immigrant women in Korea on the bases of some transnational care practices like remittances, virtual intimacy through information and communication technologies, visit to Nepal, and invitation of family members to Korea. This study argues that in order to understand migrant women's care practices properly, Nepalese marriage immigrant women should be considered as 'being in-between' the societies and cultures of Nepal and Korea. This study identifies the characteristics of transnational care practices of Nepalese women are closely related to the role expectation for the eldest daughter as well as whether or not migrant women have children, jobs, and original family member in Korea. Furthermore, this study highlights that migrant women's transnational care practices should be considered as 'reciprocal exchange of cares' between marriage women and their family members rather than one-way benefits going to the latter.

This study is aimed to track down on changes in the way Korean culture was covered in Japanese textbooks over the past three decades since the 1980s by reviewing 'social studies' textbooks for the 6th graders in elementary school and 'geology' textbooks for middle school, which are two compulsory subjects in Japanese schools where Korean cultures is the most often mentioned. To that end, Korean culture contents mentioned in the textbooks were classified into basic element, unique element and element that reflect the times, each of which was then divided into the categories of traditional & modern and surface & in-depth so as to see how each of the categories was presented. Japanese textbooks mentioned mostly surface and basic elements of Korean culture relating to food, clothing and shelter, such as Hanbok, Kimchi, Ondol, high-rise apartment and table manners, and also landscape of Seoul. Also, the kinds of contents which constantly appeared in the textbook were mostly basic elements including to food, clothing and shelter. Elements that reflect the times such as the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and the Korean Wave were adequately covered as part of chronological explanations in the books. The aspect of Korean culture in Japanese textbooks seems to expand in depth and scope over the years. More recently, detailed explanations and visual images were increasingly used to introduce Korean culture.

The purpose of this paper is to examine website information as well as promotional texts comparing source texts of Korean with translated versions of English, and drew characteristics of tourism texts from a discourse and communicative perspective. This study shows that the website or promotional texts is the first source of information in tourism, which is most referred to by the in-bound tourists, and the information given by the official homepage is most trustful content of Korean tourism. With comparison of source text of Korean with the translated English version, this paper shows that Korean source texts have a tendency to prefer the longer explication and more detailed information on the scenic spots and attractions than the English translations. When it is translated into English, the translated version does not follow the literal way of translation, and is segmented for reader's understanding and adapted following the target language's communicative conventions and the target culture. Consequently, this study supports the adaption in tourism promotional English translation, and ensures that the communicative constraints of tourism, that is, politeness and Grician maxims are preserved even in the written form of communication, translation.

This research explores the empirical confirmation of the Internet development including from the period of innovation to the time of social-cultural use in today. The research focused on how tradition news media rover about the Internet developed from early to today, and understanding the media characteristics on the each stages from news frame. The research Is designed to conduit content analysis from 1989 to 2004, then this research is divided four(4) stages of the Internet development: innovation, diffusion, commercial usage, social-cultural usage. The results shows that there are significant different coverage by the stages. First of all, the news coverage pattern shift from technology focused on early stages to social usage focused on the later stages. This research confirms that the ratio of the seriation(technology) coverage defined when social usage is increased, on the other hand skeumorphs(social usage and content) coverage is increased in the commercial and social usage stages. This coverage pattern among news media does not such a big different and there is no competitive coverage. Moreover, the news coverage shifted from thematic coverage on early stages to episodic coverage while the number of usage increasing. In addition, the tone of coverage has not been changed significantly.
