In addition, we examined the perception difference to the Korean-Chinese consumers in these relations. The results of the data analysis showed that the economic responsibility and ethical responsibility had a significant influence on the integrity trust, expertise trust and benevolence trust in the case of the Korean consumers. But, in the Chinese consumers, the economic responsibility positively influenced on the expertise trust and benevolence trust. The legal esponsibility had a significant impact on the integrity trust and benevolence trust in the case of both Korean consumers and Chinese consumers. Also, ethical responsibility positively influenced on the integrity trust and benevolence trust in the case of Chinese consumers. Finally, philanthropic responsibility had not significant influence on the expertise trust in case of both Korean consumers and Chinese consumers. • This paper examines the effect of corporate social responsosibility(CSR) on the firm value. Based on the argument that CSR would play the role of mitigating conflicts between firms and society, I hypothesized that CSR would enhance the firm value. This study used regression analysis with a data set of 733 from 2009 to 2012 using KEJI(Korean Economic Justice Institute) Index. An Index published by KEJI was used as the measure of CSR performance. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, there is a significant positive relation between CSR and firm value. Second, in the seven-rating items consist of the KEJI Index, most items have the positive relationship with the firm value. These results suggest that firm with higher CSR activities exhibit better financial performance as measured by Tobin's Q.

  • Recently, as managing organization's stakeholders become important, a viewpoint of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been changed. Unlike in the past, organizations have performed CSR in their active and strategic point of view. Previous studies about the effect of social responsibility generally focused on customer response, social performance, and financial performance, and studies about the influence on business processes and organizational members are relatively not sufficient. In particular, there is few studies about the relationship among CSR, organization's innovation capability, and non-financial performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of CSR to knowledge management and organizational performance by using multiple regression analysis. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study with 256 Korean finns in diverse industries including the manufacturing, we identified that CSR has positive influence on knowledge management and organizational performance.

  • This study examines respondents' perception of influence of corporate social responsibility on the corporate effectiveness. Also it investigates the relationship between Machiavellianism and corporate social responsibility. Survey data were collected from undergraduate business students, Advance Management Program attendants and business professors of Hallym University. The results show that they perceive corporate social responsibility's positive contribution to profitability and success. Older respondents thought more positively about contributions of corporate social responsibility to short-run success than younger ones. Also Machiavellian scores of older ones were lower than those of younger ones. The findings indicate that Machiavellianism influences directly respondents' perception of corporate social responsibility. It implies that understanding of human nature is important to induce corporate managers to be socially responsible.

  • Based on the previous research that the social responsibility of a for-profit company has a positive effect on the decrease in turnover intention, we examine the effect of CSR of a non-profit organization, hospital, on the turnover intention of members of the organization. We collected data through questionnaire surveys for medical institution workers, and conducted exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis using this data. The analysis showed that HSR had a significant effect on organizational trust, and that hospital members' organizational trust had a negative impact on turnover. In conclusion, HSR Had a significant effect on the turnover. Therefore, medical institution managers have to recognize the effect of HSR on decreasing the turnover and carry out HSR for effective management. By identifying the impacts of hospital social responsibility activities that reduce the intention of employees to turn over, it is possible to contribute to the efficient operation of medical institutions, As a future research task, it is necessary to increase the generality of research by broadening the distribution of members.

Therefore, in this article, setting two hypotheses with sampling 600 corporate firms from 2003 to 2005,first we analyzed financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility and which is not. Second, we analyzed corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility before and after. In results of this paper, carrying execution into corporate social responsibility affects financial performance badly in short term. That's why we need to study for further more long term periods such as after 5-years or so. And financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility is higher than others, accepting the second hypothesis just as this paper has set.

  • Despite expectations of short- or long-term positive effects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on firm performance, the results of existing research into this relationship are inconsistent partly due to lack of clarity about subordinate CSR concepts. In this study, keywords related to CSR concepts are extracted from atypical sources, such as newspapers, using text mining techniques to examine the relationship between CSR and firm performance. The analysis is based on data from the New York Times, a major news publication, and Google Scholar. We used text analytics to process unstructured data collected from open online documents to explore the effects of CSR on short- and long-term firm performance. The results suggest that the CSR index computed using the proposed text - online media - analytics predicts long-term performance very well compared to short-term performance in the absence of any internal firm reports or CSR institute reports. Our study demonstrates the text analytics are useful for evaluating CSR performance with respect to convenience and cost effectiveness.

  • This paper examines accountability trend for government supported research institutes through the analysis of what aspects of accountability have been emphasized in the institute evaluation from 1991 to 2005. We divided research period into pre-research council period(1991-1998) and post-research council period(1999-2005). In pre-research council period, we find four kinds of accountability for government supported research institutes, that is, compliance accountability for regulation, managerial accountability, performance accountability and social accountability and great emphasis has been put on compliance accountability for regulation and managerial accountability. In post-research council period, financial accountability for soundness has been added to the above four kinds of accountability and great emphasis has been put on performance accountability and managerial accountability, especially performance accountability. The concrete contents of an accountability has been also changed between pre-research council period(1991-1998) and post-research council period(1999-2005). Regulation accountability in the pre-research council period are related to conforming to government rules for institute operation and regulation defining institute function for reformulation, but in post-research council period, it has been focused on rules for the rationalization of management. Managerial accountability has been changed from emphasizing on management efficiency approximately to focusing on more specific management efficiency like the appropriateness of personnel management, the efficiency of budget management and project management, reasonableness of evaluation and compensation. Performance accountability has been changed in methods for measuring performance, in the pre-research council period, it has been taken quantitative method for measuring productivity, but, in post-research council period, qualitative approach like objective management has been complemented. Finally, accountability for government supported research institutes has been changed towards being concrete in many sided accountabilities and focusing on performance accountability.
