  • There has been an increasing attention to social diversity within communities. Previous studies suggest that social diversity is positively related to social trust and social capital that are intimately related to quality of life. Because of the controversy on social segregation that is an opposite concept of social diversity and is a factor negatively affecting quality of life, more studies on the association between social diversity and quality of life should be undertaken. This study employs a multilevel model to examine the association between social capital and quality of life. We analyzed the association using both the pooled sample and samples splitted based on social class. The empirical result shows that the occupational diversity positively affects quality of life while the income diversity negatively affects quality of life. These results provide useful policy implications for setting urban policy directions.

Social contributions reciprocity has been shown to influence familiarity (hypothesis 3) and it was not statistically significant to the authenticity (hypothesis 4). Looking at the relationship between the familiarity and authenticity from the product side, charm and familiarity (hypothesis 5), uniqueness and authenticity (hypothesis 8) showed that the impact on the definition. On the other hand charm and authenticity (hypothesis 6), uniqueness and familiarity (hypothesis 7) appeared to be not statistically significant. Finally, the relationship between familiarity, authenticity and empathy is as follows. First, the familiarity was found that it is affecting the authenticity (hypothesis 9) and for the consumer sympathetic (hypothesis 10) appeared to be not statistically significant. And the authenticity was found having a defined effect on the consumer sympathetic (hypothesis 11). It is really far more important to suggest an integrated approach to continue a sustainable and stable relationship by increasing consumer purchasing and empathy for the products and services of social enterprises. • This study focused on the characteristics of motiveless crimes that mainly originated from interpersonal problems and were acts of revenge against innocent third parties. This study confirmed the relationship between the experience of social exclusion and displaced aggression and examined the relationship between the two variables. We sought to confirm the role of related factors such as stress and social support. For this purpose, we established and tested hypotheses about the mediatingon effect of stress and the moderated mediatingon effect of social support on the effect of social exclusion experience on displaced aggression among 353 adult males aged between 19 and 49 years. The main results are that, first, social exclusion had a positive effect on displaced aggression. Second, stress was found to partially mediate the relationship between social exclusion and displaced aggression. Third, the hypothesis that social support would moderate the mediating effect of stress was not provedvaild, but the conditional direct effect of social support was confirmed in the mediation model. In other words, social support did not affect the indirect effect mediated by stress, but appeared to moderate the direct effect between social exclusion and displaced aggression. Social exclusion's prediction of displaced aggression was significant only in the average social support group (mean) and the high group (M+1SD), and appeared to increase as the group increased. This means that in groups with high social support, displaced aggression is used as a stress control strategy, which is a different result from previous studies that found that social support plays a role in lowerings aggression. People with low levels of social support showed unexpected results in that they used displaced aggression less frequently despite their experiencinge of social exclusion. In the discussion, the social implications of these results were interpreted, and additional research ideas were proposed to specify the relationship between social exclusion and displaced aggression.

  • The study was intended to explore the relevance of the variables below, assuming that the intolerance of uncertainty and dichotomous thinking would represent sequential serialized effects in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety. The data of this study were collected on questionnaire survey of 252 adult men and women in Seoul using perfectionistic self-presentation scale, social interaction anxiety scale, social phobia scale, intolerance of uncertainty scale and dichotomous thinkingI-30R as index, which results are as follow. First, intolerance of uncertainty and dichotomous thinking showed perfect mediation effects on the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety. Intolerance of uncertainty and dichotomous thinking were identified as contributing factors to the development and preservation of social anxiety by perfectionistic self-presenters. Second, in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and dichotomous thinking, intolerance of uncertainty showed mediation effect. And in the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and social anxiety, dichotomous thinking showed mediation effect. This suggested that if tolerance of uncertainty was deficient, it was likely to lead to dichotomous thinking. And a dichotomous thinking has prompted or accelerated negative cognitive biases resulting from intolerance of uncertainty, triggering and deepening social anxiety. Lastly, the limitations of this study and future research direction were suggested.

  • This paper examine the roles of social rapport and friendship which are the representative variables of strong emotional bonds between customers and firms in service relationship marketing. As results, social rapport and friendship were confirmed as positive moderators between a relational antecedent variable and a relational mediator variable. In other words, emotional bonds, such as social rapport and friendship, stimulated relationship development in service relationship marketing. Meanwhile, customer-firm emotional bonds seemed to be a negative effect on the stage of a relational mediator variable and a relational outcome variable. This meant that relational mediator variable and emotional bond variables(social rapport and friendship) individually had an positive effect on a relational outcome variable. If emotional bonds between customers and firms had already built, they could have positive influence on the relational outcome, regardless of relational mediator variables. Conclusively, firms' relational efforts focus on the building the emotional bonds with customers, not on the process of relational antecedents, mediators, and consequences.

  • This study examined the relationship between prosocial motivation and acquiescent, defensive, and relational silence behaviors, and identified the mediating effect of emotional job burnout. We also examined whether these relationships differed depending on whether the organization is currently working virtually or not. To this end, we collected 359 samples from Korean employees working in general office jobs below managerial positions using online survey methods. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and PROCESS Macro, and the results showed that the relationship between prosocial motivation and acquiescent, defensive, and relational silence behaviors was mediated by emotional job burnout, with a partial mediation effect for acquiescent silence and a full mediation effect for defensive and relational silence behaviors. Furthermore, these relationships were found to be the same regardless of whether employees worked virtually or not. Finally, we discuss the implications of our findings, limitations of this study, and suggestions for future research.

  • Objective : This study investigated the effects of depression on online and offline social interactions among middle-aged and older adults with the aim of enhancing their social connectivity and mental well-being. Methods : Utilizing the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 and the Lubben Social Network Scale-6, this study assessed depression and social relationships in 429 middle-aged adults. We explored the mediation effects of offline relationships on online interactions using path analysis and the Sobel test. Results : Significant links were found between depression and social relationships in a cohort of educated males averaging 63 years of age. Offline interactions mediated 32% of the influence of depression on online relationships, with strong model fit indices emphasizing the importance of offline social interactions. Conclusion : This study highlights the role of active engagement in online and offline networks in improving mental health and managing the impact of depression on social activity among older adults, helping prevent isolation.

  • The present study examined the mediating role of the subjective norm about social distancing in the relationship between individuals' collectivistic orientation and their social distancing behavior during the early COVID-19 crisis in Korea. A total of 445 South Korean adults residing in Korea participated in a survey during which level 2 to 2.5 prevention policies were being enforced. Results indicated, as expected, that collectivism positively predicted the perceptions of subjective norm that supports social distancing, which in turn predicted positively individuals' participation in social distancing as prescribed by the central government. This result emerged regardless of the individuals' perception of personal vulnerability to COVID-19. We discuss implications of these findings and directions for future research regarding the link between individualism-collectivism and the behavioral immune system, along with the role of social distancing in effectively curbing the spread of corona virus during the pandemic.
