The purpose of this research is to propose a powerful alternative in designing knowledge portals using Topic Maps(TM). To demonstrate the power of TM In constructing knowledge portals. we designed a TM-based korean folk music(pansori) site, tested It with an existing pansoree site (pansoree.com ) employing diverse query patterns : simple, advanced, associative, and cross referential Queries. The results show that the TM-based site outperforms the pansoree.com in searching time and steps. The TM-based site also provide novice users who do not know pansori domain with easy access to Information that they need.

1999년 7월에 국내에 도입된 인터넷 뱅킹 서비스는 서비스 제공 은행들의 계속적인 투자와 보안, 결제시스템의 보완, 이용자들의 확산으로 빠르게 성장하고 있다. 효과적인 웹 사이트 관리는 인터넷 비즈니스의 성패를 좌우한다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내 은행 웹사이트의 인터넷 뱅킹 서비스에 대한 진단 및 평가를 통하여 효율적으로 인터넷 뱅킹을 수행할 수 있도록 지원코자 하는 실무적 목적을 연구의 출발점으로 삼았다.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the organization system and the labeling system of information architecture of a website for the elderly. To achieve this aims, we selected a representative website, i.e., Naver, and the participants were conducted given three types of search tasks using their own information literacy skills and they were answered to the questionnaire and an additional interview, if necessary. A total of 74 valid data were collected through the experiment, and we analyzed the data using SPSS Ver. 20. It revealed that Naver received a positive evaluation in the organization system aspect, particularly its systematic subject categorization and chronological browsing mechanisms. Old adults were preferred the icon-based labeling than the text-based labeling system, and showed a significant difference among their academic backgrounds.

Real-time search keywords are not only limited to search keywords that are rapidly increasing interest in real-time, but also have a limitation that they are difficult to determine the sustainability as there is a difference in ranking between portal sites. Estimating sustainability for real-time search keywords is significant in terms of overcoming these limitations and providing some predictability. In particular, long-term search keywords that last for more than a month are of high value as long-lasting social issues. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the interest based on the ranking of the real-time search keywords and the duration based on sustained weeks, days and hours of real-time search keywords by each portal site and the integrated portal site, and then estimating sustainability based on high level of interest and duration, and present a method to derive real-time search issues with high long-term sustainability.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the subject and standards of evaluation on integrated IR interface. For this study, we studied the preceding research about major IR interface models. We took the survey for interface elements which were verified by experts. These interface elements are divided twe viewpoints. One is the cognitive viewpoints which are the page design, content design, site design, output form, usability and aesthelic facet. The other is the objective viewpoints which are page design, dontent design, site design, output for and usability. We found that these evaluation elements have a crediblilty.

This study, systematically evaluated the services provided by consumer organization site in order to improve the possessing problems or deficient aspects and present a desirable direction for instituting the planning of a new consumer group site. An evaluation of the level with respect to contents of consumer organization site showed that communication had the lowest grade while design had the highest. There were some technical errors related to accessibility of the site. An examination of the quality of consultation showed that success rate was low and the contents of the consultation were inadequate. However, compared with service quality of the consumer organization site estimated in the year of 2000, the current service showed significant improvements in terms of the overall quantity of information.

이 글은 신뢰성 문제와 관련된 현대 정보사회의 특성을 되짚어 본 다음, 정보보호와 신뢰성의 관계에 대해 살펴보고 웹 정보를 중심으로 신뢰성의 개념, 신뢰성 평가의 방법, 웹 사이트의 신뢰성 요인, 범주별 웹 사이트 신뢰도 등에 대해 이용자들을 대상으로 조사, 분석하고자 한다. 웹 사이트의 신뢰성 평가 항목과 조사 대상자의 표본 수가 제한되어 있다는 한계를 갖고 있으므로 이 부분은 향후 지속적인 조사와 연구를 통해 보완해 나갈 필요가 있다

Predication of protein interaction sites for monomer structures can reduce the search space for protein docking and has been regarded as very significant for predicting unknown functions of proteins from their interacting proteins whose functions are known. In the other hand, the prediction of interaction sites has been limited in crystallizing weakly interacting complexes which are transient and do not form the complexes stable enough for obtaining experimental structures by crystallization or even NMR for the most important protein-protein interactions. This work reports the calculation of 3D surface patches of complex structures and their properties and a machine learning approach to build a predictive model for the 3D surface patches in interaction and non-interaction sites using support vector machine. To overcome classification problems for class imbalanced data, we employed an under-sampling technique. 9 properties of the patches were calculated from amino acid compositions and secondary structure elements. With 10 fold cross validation, the predictive model built from SVM achieved an accuracy of 92.7% for classification of 3D patches in interaction and non-interaction sites from 147 complexes.

The number of websites in Korea is increasing rapidly as demonstrated by more than 510,000websites registered under the ".kr" domain as of the end of December 2000. In order to effectively copewith the deluge of web information and maintain ready access to useful information on the web,utilization and management of web information through websites that have been evaluated and ratedfavorably is becoming increasingly important. As websites now increasingly provide industry-specificinformation, information managers are now finding it essential to meet their specific information needsthrough separation and ranking of useful information from the rest.However, evaluation of industry-specific information requires industry-specific expertise as well asgeneral website evaluation tools. This paper develops a website evaluation model and attempts to rankindustry-specific websites through case studies of previous website evaluation and consultation withexperts in specific industries. Based on the model developed, this paper selects 100 outstanding websitesin 10 areas of construction industry. The research also hypothesizes that, with appropriate modifications,the rating models used for the construction industry can also be applied to other industries for moreefficient information management.e efficient information management.
