The Trend-analyses of Studies on Estimation of Cost for Early Childhood Education and Child-care Services (유아교육비·보육비 산정연구 동향분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze the trends of studies on estimation of cost for early childhood education and child-care services provided by both the kindergarten and child-care centers. A total of 21 papers including academic journals and policy research reports were collected. The papers were analyzed with the annual trends, research contents, and estimation methods of cost for early childhood education and child-care services. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, the studies on estimation of cost for early childhood education were performed earlier than the ones on estimation of cost for child-care services. The research contents were composed of analyzing operating expenses and estimating cost for early childhood education and child-care services. Secondly, there were similarities in the estimating processes of cost for early childhood education and child-care services, but the definition of operating expenses used for the estimation of cost differed. Thirdly, there were differences in the items of operating expenses inputted to estimate cost and in the calculation procedures of items in studies. Finally, based on the results, this study suggested what future studies and policy should consider in the estimation of cost for early childhood education and child-care services.

The Ecological Variables Research on the Effect of Teacher's Happiness in Child Care Center (보육교사의 행복에 영향을 미치는 생태체계변인 연구)

  • The purpose of research is analyzing the ecological variables on the effect of child care teacher's happiness. The data was collected by the survey of the happiness factors and ecological variables of child care teachers. The results are listed below. First, of organismic variable, the age and the educational background of child care teacher showed discrimination one's happiness. Second, of micro system variable, the marital status is the only thing that affect the happiness. Third, of meso system variable, the teachers who are highly interact on each other such as, child to teacher and parents to teacher are much happier than others. Finally, of the outside system variable, the teachers who are working at the better working environment and good quality of duty are much happier than others.

Changes in Preschool Childcare and Private Education Expenses of Different Income Groups Caused by the Expansion of the Childcare Subsidy Recipients: A Focus on Universal Childcare Policy (보육비 지원대상 확대에 따른 소득계층별 유아 보육비 및 사교육비 변화: 무상보육정책 시행을 중심으로)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the changes of childcare expenses and private education expenses caused by target expanding the childcare subsidy policy and its relationship to household income. Methods: The study analyzed data of the Korean Welfare Panel Study from 2009, before the universal childcare policy was enforced, to 2013, when the universal childcare policy was enforced. Results and Conclusion: The results of analysis were as follows. First, while childcare expenses, private education expenses, and their ratios to household income showed a tendency of gradual decline, the graphs of childcare and private education expenses were symmetric. Second, there were differences in childcare and private education expenses among income classes. Third, in 2009, before the universal childcare policy was enforced, household income affected childcare and private expenses. Lastly, in 2013, after the universal childcare policy was implemented, household income had a greater effect on private education expenses, while the effect of household income on childcare expenses became insignificant.

Childcare Facilities, Private Education Expenses, and Birth Rate: Evidence from Korean Regional Data (우리나라 지역별 자녀 양육환경과 출산율에 관한 실증분석)

  • This study attempts to assess the effects of childcare facilities and private education expenses on birth rate and also, to examine whether or not the quality and reliability of childcare facilities affect birth rate. Private education expenses are proxied by the number of private educational institutes or their employees. The study measures the quality and reliability of childcare facilities either by the number of employees per childcare facility or by the ratio of childcare facilities with less than 10 employees to total facilities. Empirical analysis is carried out with a cross-sectional data of 232 areas (si/gun/gu) in 2009. Empirical results indicate that the number of childcare facilities or their employees tended to increase birth rate, while private educational expenses had no effects on birth rate. It appears that the presence of good and reliable childcare facilities contributed to an increase in birth rate. The results provide several policy implications for an increase in fertility.

The Estimation of Standard Child Care Service Cost in Family Childcare Centers (가정어린이집 표준보육비 산정 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the operating expenses and to estimate the standard child-care service cost in family childcare centers. The subjects were 442 family childcare centers in Korea and the data were analyzed with descriptive statistics by using SPSS 18.0 programs. The main results were as follows. Firstly, as the result of operating expenses analyses of family childcare centers, monthly average staff wages were 5,120,000 won and average general operating costs per month were 5,114,170 won. Therefore, monthly average operating costs of family childcare centers were totally 10,234,170 won. Secondly, the four standard child care service costs were calculated on the basis of the directors holding an additional teacher's position concurrently, whether the additional cooking staff were employed or not, and the type of lunch/snack materials.

  • This study aimed to investigate the current condition of student childcare training in Korea. Participants were 221 university professors, 467 childcare center directors, and 1,260 guidance teachers in Korea. They completed questionnaires the current condition of student childcare training centers, guidance teachers, student teachers, and student childcare training fees. The results showed 64.4% of these centers charged a student childcare training fee, and 35.6% of them did not charge a fee. The average student childcare training fee was 41,000 won. This study aims to offer a realistic understanding and effective information on student childcare training in Korea and to suggest practical standards for student childcare training.

The Relations of Maternal Beliefs about Employment and Characteristics of Infant Child Care to Maternal Well-Being (취업에 대한 어머니의 태도와 영아의 보육이 어머니 복지감에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 모성취업에 대한 태도에 따른 영아보육의 특성과 어머니의 심리적 복지감 간의 관계를 밝히고자 했다. 취업 중이거나 학교를 다니는 809명의 미국여성을 대상으로 하였으며, 이들의 자녀가 생후 1개월, 6개월, 그리고 15개월일 때 면접조사를 실시하였다. 모성취업에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 가지고 있는 어머니들은 그렇지 않은 어머니에 비해 더 나은 심리적 복지감을 보였으며, 개별 보육보다 시설 보육을, 그리고 더 많은 시간의 보육을 이용하였다. 이들 어머니들은 자녀들이 친인척에 의해 보육되는 경우(relative care)보다 보육시설(child care center)을 이용할 때 더 낮은 수준의 역할 긴장과 높은 수준의 취업결정 만족감을 나타냈다. 보다 부정적 태도를 가진 어머니들은 가정보육(child care home) 이용시 역할긴장 수준이 낮았다. 영아들이 생후 6개월 무렵 두 집단의 어머니 모두 보육시간이 증가함에 따라 취업 결정에 대한 만족도가 낮았으나 15개월에는 부정적 태도의 어머니에게만 이 관계가 유의했다.

경기도 문화콘텐츠분야 창업보육센터 지원서비스가 입주기업 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 창업아이템의 사업타당성을 중심으로

  • 연구에서는 기존의 업종구분 없이 창업보육센터의 서비스와 입주기업의 성과와의 상관관계 분석과 관련된 연구들을 문화콘텐츠 분야의 기업 관점에서도 유의미한지 재 검증해보고, 또한 문화콘텐츠 기업의 특성상 아이템의 사업성이 입주기업의 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 검증하고자 한다. 그래서 문화콘텐츠 분야의 창업보육 시 필요한 서비스를 발굴하고 빠르게 변화하는 문화콘텐츠 시장의 성장에 따른 아이템의 사업성 평가에 따른 차별화된 창업보육 서비스를 통해 성과가 도출될 수 있도록 체계적이고 합리적인 문화콘텐츠 분야의 창업보육시스템 구축의 중요성에 대해서 논의하고자 한다. 실증분석을 위하여 설문조사는 경기도 문화콘텐츠분야 창업보육센터 입주기업을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 설문 데이터의 실증분석 방법으로는 SmartPLS 2.0를 이용해 빈도분석(頻度分析), 신뢰도분석(信賴度分析), 그리고 구조모형을 통하여 가설검증을 실시하였다. 가설검증을 통해 분석한 결과를 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경기도 문화콘텐츠 분야 창업보육센터의 지원서비스 수준이 창업아이템의 사업타당성에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과에서는, 공간 및 부대지원서비스, 경영지원서비스, 기술지원 서비스는 창업아이템의 사업타당성에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 인적지원 서비스 및 마케팅 지원 서비스는 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 경기도 문화콘텐츠 분야 창업보육센터의 지원서비스 수준이 입주기업의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과에서는, 공간 및 부대지원 서비스, 인적지원 서비스 및 마케팅지원 서비스는 입주기업의 재무적 성과에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것을 확인 할 수 있었으나, 경영지원 서비스, 기술지원 서비스는 입주기업의 재무적 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 공간 및 부대지원 서비스, 경영지원 서비스, 인적지원 서비스 및 마케팅지원 서비스는 입주기업의 비재무적 성과에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것을 확인 할 수 있었으나. 기술지원 서비스는 입주기업의 비재무적 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경기도 문화콘텐츠 분야 창업아이템의 사업타당성이 입주기업의 성과에 미치는 영향을 미치는 것을 분석한 결과 창업아이템의 사업타당성이 입주기업의 성과(재무적,비재무적) 성과에 모두 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 확인 할 수 있었다.

The Study on the Assistance Program for Evaluative Accreditation in terms of Child Care Teacher's and Principal's Position, Certificate Level, Expertise Level (보육시설종사자의 직위와 전문성 발달수준 및 보육교사의 자격에 따른 보육시설 조력활동에 대한 평가의 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the principals' and teachers' assessment about the assistance program for the evaluative accreditation of child care centers. Subjects were 138 teachers and principal who work in private(family) child care center in D and G city. An instrument to survey of this study was 'Assistance Program Evaluation Scale for the Evaluative Accreditation of Child Care Centers'(Nam, 2010) and 'Self-Assessment of Developmental Levels for Kindergarten Teacher'(Baek & Jo, 2004). Data were analyzed by paired t-test and ANOVA With SPSS 18.0 Version. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were significant differences in the both 'assistance system category' and 'assistance content category' between child care teacher group and principal group. Second, there were significant differences in the 'assistance content category' between the high group and the low group in expertise level. Third, significant differences were found to exist between a second-grade certificate level of child care teacher and a first-grade certificate level of child care teacher in terms of 'assistance domain'.
