  • Due to recent growth in IT industry along with the expansion of smartphone, we came to connect to the Internet wherever and whenever we are. However, this causes negative side effects, though. One of them is a rapid increase of the financial crimes such as the Phishing and the SMishing. There have been many on-going researches about crimes such as Phishing and SMishing to protect users. However, the study about sharing knowledge on SNS to prevent such a crime can be hardly found. Based on social identity theory, we conduct the research about factors on SNS users' intention to share the information security knowledge on SNS. As a result, we found that knowledge provision self-efficacy has a significant impact on self-expression. In addition, it also found out self-expression, awareness about information security and the sense of belonging have a significant impact respectively on the intention to share the information security knowledge on SNS. On the other hand, the altruism didn't have a significant impact to the intention to share information security knowledge on SNS. With this research as a starting point, it seems necessary to expand its range to all types of online community in the future for the generalization of the hypotheses.

  • As the number of people using digital devices has increased, the digital forensic, which aims at finding clues for crimes in digital data, has been developed and become more important especially in court. Together with the development of the digital forensic, the anti-forensic which aims at thwarting the digital forensic has also been developed. As an example, with anti-forensic technology the criminal would delete an digital evidence without which the investigator would be hard to find any clue for crimes. In such a case, recovery techniques on deleted or damaged information will be very important in the field of digital forensic. Until now, even though EVTX(event log)-based recovery techniques on deleted files have been presented, but there has been no study to retrieve event log data itself, In this paper, we propose some recovery algorithms on deleted or damaged event log file and show that our recovery algorithms have high success rate through experiments.

  • Criminology has been understood within a sociological framework until the emergence of neurocriminology, which describes, understands and predicts criminal behaviors from a neurobiological point of view. Not only using biological factors including genes and hormones to understand criminal behaviors, but also using neuroimaging techniques, the field of neurocriminology aims to delve into both structural and functional differences in the brain of individuals with aggression, antisocial personalities, and even the criminals. Various studies have been conducted based on this idea, however, there still are limitations for the knowledge from these studies to be used in the court. In this review article, we provide an overview of the various research in neurocriminology, and provide insight into the future direction and implication of the field.

For the study, 10 correctional professionals were interviewed including university professors majoring in criminology, judges of family court, various correctional workers and 8 correctional counselors responsible for counseling of ex-offender's in the Korea Rehabilitation Agency. The interviews were analyzed using content analysis procedures proposed by Krippendorff(2003). The results were composed of 5 spheres, 15 dimensions, 36 categories, and 77 meaning contents. With regard to social readjustment experiences of ex-offender's, domains such as 'education', 'psychotherapy', 'employment and job search', 'service, culture and leisure', and 'social and national support' were drawn from the analyses. Based on the results of this study, significance and implications were presented.

  • On the high seas, under international law, a ship is subject to the jurisdiction of the state whose flag she flies. Vessels of any flag are free to navigate the high seas without interference from other states. Thus, there are certain limits of coastal state's exercising law enforcement jurisdiction over a foreign flag vessel on the high seas. However, there are exceptions to exclusive flag state jurisdiction. One of them is the theory of constructive presence. The other is theory of partial execution. Korea Coast Guard's law enforcement authority should be exercised more actively based on those theories supported by the international cases.

  • The Capital punishment is a sentence which imposes the defendant to be put to death for his crime, thus depriving him/her of life and it's the heaviest punishment of all. It is a very sensitive issue in the sense that it denies a person's life and dignity. It is also an on-going issue which continues to cause political and ethical controversies. Although there is no direct stipulation acknowledging capital punishment in the constitution, there is controversy on the existence of indirect basis. The Art. 12. I. can not be regarded as an indirect provision if it is interpreted to have criminal punishments stipulated by written law. As the supreme Court and the Constitution Court are supporting the capital punishment which seems unconstitutional, legislative examination is inevitable. Considering the fact that the Constitution is neither for nor against the death penalty positively, it is possible to abolish it by enactment of a law and thus, constitutional amendment would not be needed.
