본 연구는 심리적으로 불안정하여 준거집단이나 사회의 영향을 민감하게 받으며, 의복과 외모에 관심이 높은 청소년을 대상으로 전통적 가치관이 무너지고 소비 지향적인 물질주의 가치관이 팽배한 사회 분위기 속에 이들의 심리적 변수인 가치관이 의복행동에 영향을 미치는 지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법은 서울의 강남과 강북에 위치한 고등학교 1학년 남녀 학생 530명을 대상으로 선행연구에서 사용된 척도를 사용한 실증연구를 하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS/PC$^{+}$프로그램을 사용하여 t-test, ANOVA, MANOVA등을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 물질주의 가치관은 청소년의 의복착용행동에 영향을 미쳐, 물질주의 가치관이 높은 청소년은 물질주의 가치관이 낮은 청소년에 비해 의복 착용시 심미성을 더 중시하고 의복에 대한 관심과 의존도가 높으며, 의복을 또래집단과 비슷하게 입으려는 동조성도 더 높았으며 의복을 통해 과시하려는 경 향도 높았다. 그러나 의복착용시 정숙성은 그리 중요하게 생각하지 않았다. 물질주의 가치관은 청소년이 의복을 구매할 때도 영향을 미쳐, 물질주의 가치관이 높은 청소년의 의복구매동기는 물질주의 가치관이 낮은 청소년에 비해 더 충동적이고 과시적이며, 유행과 개성 지향적인 것을 알 수 있었으나 실질적이거나 실용적인 구매동기는 상대적으로 약한 것으로 나타났다. 물질주의 가치관에 따라 청소년의 의복 구매시 사용하는 정보원천과 즐겨 구매하는 장소도 차이가 나타나, 물질주의 가치관이 높은 청소년이 물질주의 가치관이 낮은 청소년보다 의복 구매시 정보를 얻기 위해 더 많은 정보원천을 사용하며, 다양한 구매장소를 활용하며, 더 비싼 의류제품을, 더 자주 구매하며, 쇼핑을 위해서도 더 많은 시간을 할애하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과로 청소년의 물질주의 가치관은 이들의 의복관심과 의복착용 그리고 구매에 지대한 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다.

본 연구는 성인대학생과 일반대학생의 물질주의 가치관 및 대인관계의 상관관계를 알아보고 두 집단을 비교하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국에 재학 중인 성인대학생 228명, 일반대학생 216명을 대상으로 SPSS Statistics 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 성인대학생과 일반대학생의 일반적 특성에 따른 물질주의 가치관의 차이를 알아본 결과, 성별, 종교, 학교형태, 학년, 한 달 월급(용돈), 한 달 지출금액, 지출항목, 취미에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 성인대학생과 일반대학생의 일반적 특성에 따른 대인관계의 차이를 알아본 결과 성별, 학년, 한 달 월급(용돈), 한 달 지출금액, 지출항목, 취미에 따라 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 성인대학생과 일반대학생의 물질주의 가치관과 대인관계의 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 넷째, 성인대학생과 일반대학생의 물질주의 가치관은 대인관계의 하위요인에 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 이상의 연구결과는 성인대학생과 일반대학생 구분 없이 물질주의 가치관이 대인관계에 부정적인 영향을 미친다는 점을 시사한다.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of maternal materialism and parenting on materialism in adolescents. Moreover, the relative significance of maternal materialism and parenting materialism in adolescents was also explored. The study subjects were 199 (98 male, 101 female) high school students in Seoul and their mothers. The following are the major findings. 1) Maternal materialism was not related with male adolescents' materialism but was with female adolescents'. 2) Maternal support, and open communication were negatively related with female adolescents' materialism while maternal control, and permissiveness were positively related. On the other hand, only maternal control was positively related with male adolescents' materialism. 3) Stepwise regression analysis revealed that maternal support, followed by maternal materialism, was the most important variable affecting female adolescents'. However, for male adolescents, maternal control was the only one variable affecting their materialism.

청소년의 애니메이션의 이용도를 조사하고 사회적 가치관과의 관계를 분석하며, 사회적 가치관이 의복행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보아 청소년의 가치관 형성에 긍정적인 역할을 하는 애니메이션의 개발 및 청소년의 올바른 자기 이미지 형성에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 위해 수도권 지역의 4개교의 남녀 청소년을 대상으로 애니메이션의 이용도, 사회적 가치관, 의복행동에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 187부를 분석에 이용하였다. 청소년들 애니메이션을 보기위해 가장 많이 이용하는 대중매체는 인터넷이었으며, 이용 횟수는 일주일에 $2{\sim}3$회와 거의 이용하지 않는다가 비슷한 응답률을 보였다. 주로 시청하는 애니메이션의 장르는 전체적으로는 액션 공상과학이 가장 높게 나타났지만, 성별에 따라 선호 장르에 차이가 나타났으며, 남학생의 경우 액션 공상과학, 명랑 코믹, 드라마 순정의 순서였고, 여학생의 경우는 드라마 순정, 액션 공상과학, 명랑 코믹의 순으로 응답하였다. 애니메이션의 이용도와 사회적 가치관의 관계는 주로 시청 장르에 따라서 공동체 생활과 물질주의에 유의한 차이를 나타내었고, 사회적 가치관과 의복행동의 관계에 있어서는 의복 동조성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 공동체 의식과 물질주의로 나타났고 유행에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 물질주의로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과는 시청하는 애니메이션의 장르에 따라 청소년의 사회적 가치관 요인인 공동체 의식과 물질주의에 영향을 주고 있으며, 이러한 사회적 가치관은 의복 행동과도 관계가 있으므로 청소년들의 가치관 형성에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 애니메이션의 개발과 보급이 확대되기를 바라며, 동시에 청소년들의 적절한 의복행동에 도움을 줄 수 있기를 바란다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate familism and materialism of the Korean-Americans. A total 370 subject completed structured questionnaires. Major conclusions of this study are as follows: First, the Korean-Americans are found to support familism below average. But subgroup differences (according to age, for example) were discovered. Second, the Korean-Americans are found not to support materialism. But, like familism, subgroup differences by several variables were discovered. Third, among the Korean-Americans, the urban Koreans and the rural Koreans, the rural Koreans are found to support familism most strongly. But theres no difference between the Korean-Americans and the urban Koreans. The Korean-Americans are found not to support materialism.

The main purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting adolescents materialism and the relations between parenting, materialism and self-esteem in adolescents. The subjects were 439 first-grade high school students in Kang-nam area located in Seoul. The main results were as follows; (1) Material value was not significantly different according to gender, SES and parents education; (2) Adolescents whose parents are permissive or inconsistent have higher material value. On the other hand, adolescents whose parents are affectionate have relatively lower material value. And adolescents who communicate openly with their parents also have lower material value; (3) Lower material value was found for the adolescents whose self-esteem was high; (4) The mediating role of self-esteem was found: Adolescents self-esteem mediate the relations between parenting, parent-child communication style and material value of adolescents.

본 연구는 기존 연구들에서 미혼 청년들의 결혼의향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 제시된 경제적 변인들을 객관적/주관적, 개인 수준/부모 수준으로 구분하여 변인들 간의 상대적 영향력을 확인하고, 그러한 변인들의 영향력을 고려한 상황에서 물질에 대한 가치관, 즉 물질주의(성공판단, 소유중심, 행복추구)가 결혼의향에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 성별에 따라 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 전국 2-30대 미혼 남녀 557명을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 데이터를 수집하였고, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 남성과 여성 각각에 대해 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 여성의 소득은 결혼의향을 정적으로 유의하게 예측하였지만 남성은 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 주관적 계층인식은 남녀 모두의 결혼의향을 정적으로 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모의 결혼지원 기대 정도는 남성의 결혼의향을 예측하였다. 넷째, 물질에 대한 가치관은 다양한 경제적 요인들의 영향을 고려한 상황에서도 결혼의향에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 여성의 경우 물질의 소유를 통해 자신과 타인의 성공을 판단하는 경향이 높을수록 결혼의향을 가질 확률이 높고, 물질의 소유를 통해 자신의 행복과 만족을 추구하는 경향이 높을수록 결혼의향을 갖지 않을 확률이 높았다. 남성의 물질적 가치관은 결혼의향을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하지 않았다. 이 같은 결과에 대한 구체적인 의의와 추후 연구를 통한 추가적 탐색과 이해의 필요는 논의를 통해 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate American traditional values and American culture in English education. The understanding of American culture in English education requires the analysis of world changes in the global age. The history of American English, the formation of American society, and the background of natural environment are described in relation to the traditional American values of the earliest settlers, such as multi-culture, individual freedom, frontier heritage in the West, equality of opportunity and wealth and material abundance. Hence the case studies of students' project presentations on the American culture in English education exemplify the reflection of American traditional values in the current American life and society. It is concluded that project-based method with regard to cultural studies in English education reveals very positive learning effects by driving students' interests and active participation through the student-centered, creative, and cooperative project presentations.

본 연구는 최초로 한국인의 기념일 지향성과 식사 간의 관련성을 실증적으로 밝히기 위한 것이다. 연구는 3단계로 진행되었는데, 제1단계에서는 우리 문화에서 거론되고 있는 기념일들을 목록화하기 위해 문헌 조사와 20대~50대의 남여 각 2명, 총 4명을 대상으로 미니 포커스그룹인터뷰법(mini focus group interview)을 진행하여 78개의 기념일 목록을 구성하였다. 제2단계에서는 이 결과를 바탕으로 22개 문항으로 구성된 기념일 지향성 척도를 개발하였다. 제3단계에서는 이 기념일 지향성 척도를 중심으로 인구통계학적 변수인 성별, 연령, 지각된 경제적 수준, 심리적 변수인 자기존중감, 생활만족도, 우울감, 사회적지지, 개별성과 관계성, 대인영향력에 대한 민감성, 가치관 변수인 물질주의 가치관, 그리고 식사 행동(식사 빈도)간 관계를 파악하기 위해 만 20세~ 62세까지 총 486명(남자 200명, 여자 286명)을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 여자가 남자보다 기념일 지향성이 유의미하게 더 높았고, 20대와 30대가 40대 이상의 집단에 비해 기념일 지향성이 높았다. 그리고 생활만족도가 높을수록, 지각된 사회적 지지가 높을수록, 관계성이 높을수록, 대인영향력 민감성이 높을수록, 물질주의 가치관이 높을수록 기념일 지향성이 높은 것으로 드러났다. 그리고 기념일 지향성이 중간 이상인 경우에는 그 이하인 경우에 비해 기념일에 식사를 하는 빈도가 유의미하게 많은 것으로 드러났다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of the materialism of university students. The data were collected for 331 university students. The data were analyzed by the package of SPSS program. The methods of analyses included basic descriptive categorical analysis (frequencies, means, percentages) as well as t-test, one way ANOVA, and multiple regressions. To summarize major findings from the analysis: (1) A significant difference was found in the materialism of university students by the socio-economic variables such as the amount of pocket money. (2) A significant difference was found in the materialism of university students by more self-esteem than life satisfaction. (3) A significant difference was found in the materialism of university students by parent's materialism and competitive achievement pressure. (4) According to the multiple regression analysis, it was found that the materialism of university students was influenced by the order of self-esteem, parent's materialism and competitive achievement pressure.
