Modernization projects are actively underway to replace conventional logistics equipment for the development of the 21st century logistics management system. The modernized logistics system is expected to expand to each troops on future. In this paper, we deal with simulation of automated logistics center to analyse the current system. Especially, the alternative to the same scale is designed based on needs of military distinctiveness. As a result, it can be effectively compared the current system. The result obtained in this design process is comprehensively analyzed by the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The proposed method in this study is allowed to cost-effectively evaluate current and future automated logistics center. And, that is expected to contribute to modernization projects of the military logistics system.

The distribution logistics center has its own inventory, so designing an efficient storage area is very important. The purpose of this study is to present the optimal storage area calculation method for distribution logistics center considering the use of standard pallet unit load, and the results of this study are as follows. First, standard rack modules for storing T-11 and T-12 type pallet, which is generally used in Korea, were defined. Second, a variety of pallet transport equipments were investigated and analyzed to define the standard transport equipment's work passageway by type. Finally, it has great implications in terms of suggesting measures to minimize unused space that may occur during placement of pallet rack modules within storage space, as well as the easy and optimal calculation of the storage area for the distribution logistics center. Future research require a study on the layout of the entire distribution logistics center, which reflects the latest logistics technologies, such as standard rack modules for Mini-Load and GTP picking system.

The bidding phase for logistics outsourcing services is critical for both shippers and logistics companies. According to the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide logistics operation information to logistics companies to resolve uncertainty. In addition, the logistics company can win the contract volume that was placed in the bid by expressing their experience and know-how, and proposing to share the risks and benefits of the shipper's logistics operation. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the factors that can be identified during the bidding phase for logistics outsourcing and how these factors affect the satisfaction of logistics outsourcing services. Based on the factors identified in the preceding studies on logistics outsourcing partnership factors and those on logistics outsourcing determinants, a survey was conducted on experts engaged in logistics companies, performing logistics for domestic shippers and analyzed using Smart-PLS. This study presents the following implications. First, in the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide its logistics operation information to logistics firms to resolve uncertainties. Details An in-depth explanation of the operation details will be presented via the bidding presentation, and on-site tours of manufacturing plants and logistics centers should also be carried out if necessary. Second, in the bidding phase, logistics companies should appeal through proposals to their competitiveness, such as experience and knowledge of the logistics of the shipper, and also consider alliances with other logistics companies to supplement their insufficient logistics services. Third, logistics companies should make proposals to share profits and risks through logistics outsourcing during the bidding phase, propose accepting risks from environmental uncertainties of the shipper within its capacity to an acceptable extent, and share the benefits of carrying out the shipper's logistics.

Distribution Activity for customer is preferred at Physical distribution system in e-commerce, so fast delivery and low distribution cost determine the core competency of enterprise. Because there is no cooperative system between with distribution centers in traditional distribution system, it is difficult to optimize the system. The purpose of this paper is to propose a cost structure model for multi-stage distribution system, which is used for determination of joint lot size and optimal demand and transportation policy. It is expected to contribute to development of algorithm for joint distribution system, which is minimized the transportation cost by the result of this cost structure model.

It It is not easy to reduce the operation costs at a time when it is hard to expect increase sales due to growing economic uncertainties. For logistics centers, which need to keeps their competitive advantage in the market by raising service levels at low cost, it is essential to drastically improve service levels at low cost. This study suggests that KPI (Key Performance Indicator) analysis should determine whether efficient logistics operation is being performed for the entire process of the logistics operation system. And also we suggests that each item should be set up, measured, and improved so that customer satisfaction can be increased based on performance indicators.

Railroad logistics transporting freight by train takes charge of 10 or 20 percent of domestic cargos. Railroad logistics users such as transport companies including shippers or Inland Container Depot(ICD) use electronic document(EDI or XML) or input data through WEB to process railroad logistics business. However, as business environments evolving into e-business, it is required to upgrade the legacy railroad logistics process. As the increase of using ebXML-based schema format, it is also needed to improve the electronic documents based on DTD format into those of XML schema format. This study deals with information standard for railroad logistics to improve the railroad logistics business. To this purpose railroad business processes were re-defined through the standard business process modeling methodology. Information model was also derived by defining railroad logistics activities from business process model. And Business Information Entities(BIEs) were defined to design new electronic documents according to the extracted information model. An improved system architecture for railroad logistics was proposed as well. The results of this study will provide an effective and flexible business flow to railroad logistics business.

This paper analyzes the relative efficiency of Korea's logistics industry with the DEA-ANP model from 2003 to 2005. To measure the efficiency, this paper used the numbers of employees, fixed assets. total capital. and operating costs as input factors and sales amounts and net incomes as output factors. The average efficiency score of the entire logistics industry is 0.175, so most logistics companies in Korea should improve their current inefficiencies. The industry with the highest efficiency score is marine transportation. with an average three-year efficiency score of 0.3692. In terms of sales and high efficiency. most of the highest-ranked companies belong to the marine transportation industry, so marine transportation has the most influence on raising the efficiency score of Korea's logistics industry. To improve the inefficiency of inputs that exists overall in the logistics industry it is necessary to control excessive numbers of employees. To improve the amount of sales, it is necessary to make a policy of satisfying various logistics demands, continuous investments, and attracting foreign logistics demand: such things will help strengthen the international competitiveness of Korea's logistics industry.

Green logistics is regarded as an inevitable global trend in the 21st century. It can be accomplished through more broad and active reverse logistics globally, resulting in use of less fossil fuels, finally reducing carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Many countries such as U.S., Japan, EU nations have already set up policies related to carbon reduction, so-called 'green policies.' This paper aims to identify evaluation criteria for logistics policies and relative importance among those criteria, especially in the field of ports and in-land hub terminals. We examined projects related to carbon reduction from domestic and foreign ports and logistics centers and found evaluation factors and assessment indicators. With pre-evaluative items and pre-assessment indicators, we have done a survey and selected evaluation factors and assessment indicators for ports and inland hub terminals in Korea. By analyzing the mutual importance of each pre-evaluative items and pre-assessment indicators related to carbon reduction policies, this research provides guidelines on selecting the key items for the propulsion of carbon reduction projects. This study shows the importance of preliminary evaluation items and indexes with AHP in evaluating carbon reduction policies and the result shows the restrictions and change in transportation and use of alternative fuels. Lastly, it provides a guideline to policy-makers and firm managers in the field of green logistics.

본 논문은 물류창고 내 컨베이어벨트에서 자동으로 화물의 크기와 무게를 분석하고 이를 인공지능을 기반으로 분류하는 기술에 관한 연구를 다루고 있다. 우리의 연구를 통해 넓은 물류창고에서 전체 분류 과정을 모니터링할 수 있으며, 웹사이트를 활용하여 원거리에서도 물류 분류 과정을 실시간으로 확인 가능하게 한다. 또한 문제 발생 시 기록을 남겨 관리자 간에 관리, 감독이 원활하도록 도와준다.

In this study, I have suggested a basic theories in introducing and applying EC indispensible for a positive development of international logistics' competitiveness by the Chonbuk firms, and I assure that the Chonbuk firms can get a full effect in strengthening international competitiveness in worldwide trade war by effectively utilizing the application method suggested in this study as well as by erecting its basic direction. Our market faced an accelerating pressure against a full-scale market opening with the WTO system, and our Chonbuk firms will face a danger that all the markets, domestic and international will be occupied by the foreign enterprises, for we can not win the competition with the foreign enterprises, provided that we do not prepare for the rationalization and effectiveness of management. It will be very significant for our Chonbuk firms to introduce and utilize EC as a method for innovation and rationalization of management as well as a method for strengthening international competitiveness. This study will serve the study of this field, for the purpose of this study is on analyzing its propriety in introducing and utilizing EC. It will guarantee the importance that this study helps the Chonbuk firms to upgrade understanding on introduction and utilization of EC for strengthening their logistics competitiveness, and this study serves to improve international competitiveness in an era of information and globalization.
