The purposes of this study were to identify factors affecting the quality of universities' e-learning contents from the perspectives of learners and to find out specific solutions for improving them. To achieve these goals, research questions were established as follows: 1) What factors were influencing the quality of universities' e-learning contents, and how were learners perceived about each factor(by its importance and satisfaction)? 2) Were there any differences on the learners' perceptions about each factor(by its importance and satisfaction)? 3) What were any specific ways to enhance the quality of universities' e-learning contents? The participants were of 543 university students who took at least one e-learning course and were living in the metropolitan areas(Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi). The survey questionnaire was consisted of 38 items developed through the literature review. To analyze the data collected, factor analysis and paired-sample t-test were conducted. The results were as follows: Five identified factors influencing the quality of universities' e-learning contents from the perspectives of learners were instructional strategies, learning contents, usability, evaluation/feedback, and interface design, and all identified factors were statistically significant differences among the learners' perceptions of its importance and satisfaction. The analysis results of importance-satisfaction matrix by each factor showed that 1) learning contents was the factor that current status should be at least continuously maintained, 2) usability, instructional strategies, and evaluation/feedback were the factors that learners' satisfactions still need to be increased although those importances were not relatively high, and 3) interface factor was important, while learners' satisfaction toward it was not much high so that solutions to increase the satisfaction need to be immediately considered. Based on the results, several suggestions to enhance universities' e-learning contents from the learners' perspectives were also recommended.

Background and Objectives The purpose of this study was to develop the differential diagnosis scale containing items from adductor spasmodic dysphonia (ADSD) to muscle tension dysphonia (MTD) and the determine clinical utility of newly developed items. Materials and Method The four parts of pitch, redirected phonation, automatic speech and voiced sound were selected for analyzing the characteristics of ADSD in the literature. One part of tense voiceless sound was developed according to the Korean manner of articulation. The content validity was evaluated based on 5 scales (1-5 point) analysis from 30 experts. One hundred patients (50 ADSD and 50 MTD) were recorded in reading a sentence and sustained phonation. The two speech language pathologist evaluated recorded voices through a blind test using 4 scales (0-3 point) for newly developed items. Results As a result of verifying the content validity of items with experts, it was identified that the differentiated items were valid with 4.2 out of 5. Through the differential diagnosis between two groups according to the items, the correlation between sub-domains and total scores was shown as higher than 0.710. The result of analyzing the reliability on each diagnosis domain was 0.840-0.893, which showed the internal consistency of items was great. Newly developed five parts of ADSD were significantly higher than those of MTD with strong correlation (p<0.01). The reliability among the evaluators was analyzed as high with 0.892. Conclusion In this study, the differential diagnosis scale of ADSD was revealed as having validity and reliability. It is considered that it will be useful for differentiating ADSD and MTD in the clinical field.

Objective: The purpose of this study was performed to modify the performance-based assessment tool, Melbourne Low-Vision ADL Index (MLVAI) had been developed in Australia to suit the Korea culture to verify the reliability and validity. Methods: The subjects were only over the age of 20 living in communities, 26 with low-vision and 42 normal persons. The Korean MLVAI was completed through the expert translation verification and validation of the configuration tool. The validity of the Korean MLVAI was established through the content, discriminant, and convergent validity. Also, the reliability was analyzed through internal consistency reliability for the items, test-retest, and interrater reliability. Results: The Content Validity Index(CVI) was more than .78. There was a statically significant low in low-vision. Also, there was a statically significant low in low-vision. The convergent validity was determined the correlation coefficient of .751 analyzing LVQOL and Korean MLVAI total score, had a significant correlation(p<.05). Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient indicated an internal consistency of .983(p<.05). Test-retest reliability had a high, significant correlation of .976 and interrater reliability had a high, an intraclass correlation coefficient of .91(p<.05). Conclusion: The results of this study mean that the Korean MLVAI which was modified to fit the Korean is the ADL assessment tool with both validity and reliability. Based on this study, the Korean MLVAI can be used as a useful ADL assessment for OT interventions in low vision.

The purpose of this study is to find out whether Achievement Tests are fully performing their role as an objective standard that measures student's educational achievement level by analysing the content validity of Achievement Tests developed by KICE and teachers at elementary school. In the study, the content validity of achievement tests were analyzed in the behavioral content objective dimensions. 60 instructional objectives from the Unit one to the Unit six contained in the teachers' guidebook for the elementary third-grade Math subject were analyzed into dimensions of behavior and content. And the Achievement Test developed by KICE and teachers in five elementary schools randomly chosen were collected and analyzed. Then, differences of the proportion between instructional objectives and evaluative objectives in each dimension statistically were verified. The results of the study are as follows : 1. In the dimension of behavior, as analysing and comparing the content validity of achievement tests, there was no significant difference in all domains(knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation). (p<.05) Therefore, it could be concluded that content validity of the Achievement Test is very high. 2. In the dimension of content, similarly there is no significant difference in all domains between achievement tests by both KICE and teachers. (p<.05) Therefore, the content validity of all tests are very high. In conclusion, it could be concluded that content validity of achievement tests is considerably high in content and behavior dimension. The study suggest the followings : 1. By expanding to the other subjects, there are needs to analyze and verify the content validity of achievement tests. 2. Even the content validity of achievement tests is considerably high however, achievement items are focused on evaluation 3 domains(knowledge, comprehension, application). Therefore evaluation evenly among 6 cognitive domains is required. And further to reduce the deviation of schools, there are needs to active interchange between teachers.
In this study, the instrument of mathematical creative problem solving ability test were considered the differences between Korean and American sixth grade students in mathematical creativity ability and mathematical thinking ability. The instrument consists of 9 items. The participants for the study were 212 Korean and 148 American students. SPSS were carried out to verify the validities and reliability. Reliabilities(Cronbach ${\alpha}$) in mathematical creativity ability is 0.9047 and in mathematical thinking ability is 0.9299 which were satisfied internal validity evaluation on the test items. Internal validity were analyzed by BIGSTEPS based on Rasch's 1-parameter item response model. The results of this study can serve as a foundation for understanding the Korean and American students differences in mathematical creativity ability and mathematical thinking ability. Especially we get the some informations on mathematical creativity ability for American's fifth grade to seventh grade students.
Objectives: This study aims to evaluate effectiveness of hypertension prevention and management programs (HPMPs) in rural Korea. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted with 700 community health practitioners working at primary health care posts (PHCPs). The questionnaire had four domains, which were hypertension management, hypertension prevention, the PHCP environment, and evaluation system, each with different maximum weighted values (WVs). Weighted values of 100 indicate the best effectiveness for the HPMP in all four domains. Results: The average WVs and percent effectiveness of all four domains combined was 61.65 (62%); the hypertension management domain was 28.81 (72%); the hypertension prevention domain was 23.44 (67%); the PHCP environment was4.29(43%); and the evaluation system was5.10(34%). Conclusion: The HPMPs were generally effective, and hypertension management was the most effective. The environment of PHCPs and the evaluation system of HPMPs should be improved to increase the effectiveness of the HPMPs.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of formative assessment with detailed feedback on students' science achievement, attitude, and interactions between the teacher and the students. For the study, 133 seventh graders were selected from a girl's middle school in Seoul, and assigned to the experimental and the control groups. The duration of the treatment was over a period of nine weeks. In the experimental group, detailed feedbacks on the solution, teacher's comments on the results, and relevant references were provided after each formative assessment. However, only the answers were presented in the control group. Prior to instructions, a achievement and a attitude tests were administered. After the instructions, follow-up tests which were similar to the pretests were also administered. The results showed significant difference between the two groups in science achievement. It was found that the usage of formative assessments with detailed and supportive feedbacks was more effective in stimulating students' interest, raising their confidence in the subject, increasing their participation, as well as reducing their anxiety. The results also strongly indicated that detailed feedbacks were more effective in improving the interactions of the teacher and the students. The results strongly suggest that formative assessment utilizing detailed and supportive feedback is a necessary component of effective science teaching and learning.
The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of a respectful scientist from the perspective of the science gifted students and their recognition on the event of Dr. Hwang, Woo Seok and its effects on their future goal decision. The participants of this study are 19(11 males, 8 females) second grade of junior high school students, chemistry department of S Science-gifted Education Center, and 44(32 males, 12 females) first and second grade of J Science high school students. The questionnaire was developed and both quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. The result showed the characteristics of a scientist the students respect were varied by school level and the sex. For the event of Dr. Hwang, Woo Seok, 47.6% students recognized that he must be banished from the science field and 36.5% students showed sympathy for Dr. Hwang, Woo Seok. It was said that most science gifted students realized the importance of honesty through this event. Most science gifted students were recognized the necessity of moral education in science gifted education.

The aim of the study was to verify the effects of simulation-based stroke care education on the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students. The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 64 nursing students in a nursing college participated in this study. The participants were assigned conveniently according to the academic year to either the experimental group in 2013 (n = 32) or control group in 2014 (n = 32). The experimental group received a simulation-based stroke care education, and the control group received a clinical placement with self-directed practicum. The data was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the scores of the overall nursing performance ability (z = -3.373, p < .001) and satisfaction (z = -3.245, p = .001) in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Overall, simulation-based stroke care education is an effective teaching strategy of improving the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students.
Background: Currently, evidence-based medicine is widely propagated as a reference for proper clinical practice. As a result, there is an increasing need for more clinical trials based on Oriental diagnostic methods to evaluate the efficacy of Oriental medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine. The purpose of this study was to confirm which symptoms are adequate indicators of effects of Ojeock-san for lower back pain and develop a questionnaire to evaluate its effects. Methods: We interviewed 102 Oriental medical doctors working in Seoul with a preformed questionnaire which included questions about symptoms of lower back pain and indicators for Ojeock-san. We sampled respondents who answered that they trust the effectiveness of Ojeock-san in telephone survey carried out using multistage stratified random sampling technique from March to April, 2009. We categorized the respondents into two groups, differentiating them by gender, career, workplace, and trust level of Ojeock-san effect. Results: About half of the respondents selected 13 questions as the adequate indicators of Ojeock-san for low back pain. There were no differences in the top 11 selected indicators in total selection and top 3 ranking selection. The comparison of frequency of top 13 questions in total selections between the two groups showed no difference. Conclusions: There were 13 symptoms which were considered adequate indicators of effects of Ojeock-san for lower back pain found by many Oriental medical doctors. This questionnaire can be utilized as a diagnostic adjunctive tool, tested for validity and reliability of questionnaires through further studies.
