Open-pit mine development requires continuous management because of topographical changes and there is a risk of accidents if the current status survey is performed directly in the process of calculating the earthwork. In this study, the application of UAV photogrammetry, which can acquire spatial information without direct human access, was applied to open-pit mines development area and analyzed the accuracy, earthwork, and mountain restoration plan to determine its applicability. As a result of accuracy analysis at checkpoint using ortho image and Digital Surface Model(DSM) by UAV photogrammetry, Root Mean Square Error(RMSE) is 0.120 m in horizontal and 0.150 m in vertical coordinates. This satisfied the tolerance range of 1:1,000 digital map. As a result of the comparison of the earthwork, UAV photogrammetry yielded 11.7% more earthwork than the conventional survey method. It is because UAV photogrammetry shows more detailed topography. And result of monitoring mountain restoration showed possible to determine existence of rockfall prevention nets and vegetation. If the terrain changes are monitored by acquiring images periodically, the utility of UAV photogrammetry will be further useful to open-pit mine development.

High voltage power transmission lines have been to keep the proper dip for maintenance. Powerline dips at a random point are conventionally measured by the direct or indirect observation but it is not only unsafe but labor-intensive. Therefore in this study we applied the photogrammetric technique to remotely measure the powerline dips. Since it is not easy to extract conjugate points from linear powerlines, we exploited the epipolar lines acrossing the powerlines for 3D mapping of the powerlines and dip measurements. The vertical mapping accuracy estimated at two field-surveyed power line points was 15~16cm that are within 5% of deflection at the points and less than 3% of the powerline dip.

This study estimates possibility and limitation on production of DEM using aerial photo by comparison of DEMs using aerial photo and digital map. Mountain and urban areas show higher elevation in DEM using aerial photo than in DEM using digital map, due to height of vegetation cover and buildings, respectively. However, artificial affects due to bridge, embankment and road construction are responsible for areas with higher elevation in DEM using digital map than in DEM using aerial photo. This difference in elevation between DEMs seems to be caused by rapid change in real elevation that is not reflected in digital map. There is little difference in elevation between DEMs in plain and area with little or no vegetation cover. This study suggests that problems associated with vegetation cover and error by GCP should be fixed, although DEM using aerial photo can quantitatively and 3-dimensionally reconstruct topography with a high resolution.

In the view of the application of high-precision spatial information production, UAV (Umanned Aerial Vehicle)-Photogrammetry has a problem in that it lacks specific procedures and detailed regulations for quantitative quality verification methods or certification of captured images. In addition, test tools for UAV image quality assessment use only the GSD (Ground Sample Distance), not MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), which reflects image resolution and contrast at the same time. This fact makes often the quality of UAV image inferior to that of manned aerial image. We performed MTF and GSD analysis simultaneously using a siemens star to confirm the necessity of MTF analysis in UAV image quality assessment. The analyzing results of UAV images taken with different payload and sensors show that there is a big difference in σMTF values, representing image resolution and the degree of contrast, but slightly different in GSD. It concluded that the MTF analysis is a more objective and reliable analysis method than just the GSD analysis method, and high-quality drone images can only be obtained when the operator make images after judging the proper selection the sensor performance, image overlaps, and payload type. However, the results of this study are derived from analyzing only images acquired by limited sensors and imaging conditions. It is therefore expected that more objective and reliable results will be obtained if continuous research is conducted by accumulating various experimental data in related fields in the future.

Satellite imagery is generally used for investigating the damage from natural disaster for wide area and remotely piloted vehicle or aerial photos are used for the local damage. But for more detailed information such as damages of public facilities, these methods are inadequate and so in this case field surveying has been carried out. We tried to estimate the damage of public facilities faster and more accurately using photogrammetric method. We developed a digital stereo camera system by fixing two digital cameras on a frame, and with this system the photos of actually damaged areas were collected. The damages were estimated from these stereo photos. Then the estimated data was compared with field surveying data in order to verify our system.

This study investigated the ground displacement occurring in a slope below a waste-rock dumping site and estimated the likelihood of a disaster due to a landslide. To start with, photogrammetry was conducted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to investigate the size and extent of the ground displacement. From April 2019 to July 2020, the average error rate of the five UAV surveys was 0.011-0.034 m, and an elevation change of 2.97 m occurred due to the movement of the soil layer. Only some areas of the slope showedelevation change, and this was believed to be due to thegroundwater generated during rainfall rather than the effect of the waste-rock load at the top. Sensitivity analysis for LS-RAPID simulation was performed, and the simulation results were compared and analyzed by applying a digital elevation model (DEM) and a digital surface model (DSM)as terrain data with 10 m, 5 m, and 4 m grids. When data with high spatial resolution were used, the extent of the sedimentation of landslide material tended to be excessively expanded in the DEM. In contrast, in the result of applying a DSM, which reflects the topography in detail, the diffusion range was not significantly affected even when the spatial resolution was changed, and the sedimentation behavior according to the river shape could be accurately expressed. As a result, it was concluded that applying a DSM rather than a DEM does not significantly expand the sedimentation range, and results that reflect the site situation well can be obtained.

The author tried to propose the orthographic and DTM (digital terrain model) creation and evaluate the accuracy for an university campus using UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) system. Most previous studies used GPS-based data, but in this paper, the observations of triangulation level measurements was used for comparison of accuracy. Accuracy analysis results showed that the operational requirements for aerial photographic standards are satisfied in all scenaries. The author confirmed availability in aviation photo measurements and applications using UAV (Drone). In order to create a sophisticated DTM and contour, we need to eliminate interference from building, trees, and artificial objects. The results of this study are expected to be used as the basis for future studies in the creation of DTM and the accuracy assessments using Drone.

In recent years, various methods have been attempted to visually manage the construction site efficiently, and in particular, there has been a tendency to use a UAV or a drone in the air rather than a land on a construction site, Can be visually photographed and recorded or analyzed. In this study, the unmanned aerial photographs were taken at least three times and the USN sensors were simultaneously operated on the main structure at the time of shooting, The goal of this research was to make the image information and environmental information of the construction site available for efficient construction management by matching. As a result, not only professional engineers at construction sites but also administrative managers can visually confirm the detailed situation of the site at the time of the construction site and the completion status, and can help decision making in appropriate budget input and appropriate resource support The experts in each field discussed the safety management of the construction site, the prevention of disaster and various factors of change which can be changed by natural environment factors.
In this study, the practicality of unmanned aerial vehicle photography information was identified. Therefore, a total of four consecutive surveys were conducted on the field-level survey areas among the areas subject to photography using unmanned aerial vehicles, and the changes in crop conditions were analyzed using pictures of unmanned aerial vehicles taken during each survey. It is appropriate to collect and utilize photographic information by directly taking pictures of the survey area according to the time of the on-site survey using unmanned aerial vehicles in the field layer, which is an area where many changes in topography, crop vegetation, and crop types are expected. And it turned out that it was appropriate to utilize satellite images in consideration of economic and efficient aspects in relatively unchanged rice paddies and facilities. If the survey area is well equipped with systems for crop cultivation, deep learning can be utilized in real time by utilizing libraries after obtaining photographic data for a certain area using unmanned aircraft in the future. Through this process, it is believed that it can be used to analyze the overall crop and shipment volume by identifying the crop status and surveying the quantity per unit area.

Even though existing methods for orthophoto production in traditional photogrammetry are effective in large areas, they are inefficient when dealing with change detection of geometric features and image production for short time periods in small areas. In recent years, the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), equipped with various sensors, is rapidly developing and has been implemented in various ways throughout the geospatial information field. The data and imagery of specific areas can be quickly acquired by UAVs at low costs and with frequent updates. Furthermore, the redundancy of geospatial information data can be minimized in the UAV-based orthophoto generation. In this paper, the orthophoto and DEM (Digital Elevation Model) are generated using a standard low-end UAV in small sloped areas which have a rather low accuracy compared to flat areas. The RMSE of the check points is σH = ±0.12 m on a horizontal plane and σV = ±0.09 m on a vertical plane. As a result, the maximum and mean RMSE are in accordance with the working rule agreement for the airborne laser scanning surveying of the NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) on a 1/500 scale digital map. Through this study, we verify the possibilities of the orthophoto generation in small slope areas using general-purpose low specification UAV rather than a high cost surveying UAV.
