News plays a similar role with myths in modern society. Myths provide the framework from which people understand and experience the world, and news media plays an important role in constructing these myths. In this context, this study examined how female and male business leaders have been represented in newspaper photographs through quantitative and qualitative textual analyses. Photographs of female business leaders which appeared in news interviews and profile news stories from 1990 to 2011 were analyzed, and photographs of male leaders corresponding to the total number of female photographs were also investigated. As a result, gender perspectives were found. While male business leaders were portrayed as active and serious figures in connection with their professional work places, mostly in bust shots, female business leaders were represented as passive objects artificially posed for the news in a context separated from their business, and often in full length shots.

In this study, the flexural strength, absorption rate, methylene blue photo catalyst decomposition performance and anti-fouling performance were evaluated according to the photo catalyst mixing rate and block surface wash status by applying photo catalyst to the surface layer of concrete sidewalk block. The results showed that the flexural strength of the block that mixed photo catalyst only in the surface layer of the concrete block was 5.32MPa of the general block (SNW) of 5% photo catalyst, compared to 5.46MPa of the non-mixed concrete block of the reference concrete block. Surface washing block (SW) 5.26MPa, 10% photo catalyst general block (SNW) 5.26MPa, and 5.15MPa surface washing block (SW). It has been shown that the presence of surface washing and the mixing rate of photo catalyst in the concrete block have no effect on the flexural strength. Moreover, the photoreaction performance of concrete sidewalk blocks showed that the methylene blue removal rate of specimens with 5% TiO₂ was 34.2%, the methylene blue removal rate of specimens with 10% TiO₂ was 37.1%, and the removal rate of the methylene blue of specimens with 5% TiO₂ was about 37.9% and 10% mixed specimens with TiO₂ was about 37.6%.

The purpose of this study was to investigate consumers' perceptions on monosodium L-glutamate (MSG) in social media. Data were collected from Naver blogs and Naver web communities (Korean representative portal web-site), and media reports including comment sections on a Yonhap news website (Korean largest news agency). The results from Naver blogs and Naver web communities showed that it was primarily mentioned MSG-use restaurant reviews, 'MSG-no added' products, its safety, and methods of reducing MSG in food. When TV shows on current affairs, newspaper, or TV news reported uses and side effects of MSG, search volume for MSG has increased in both PC and mobile search engines. Search volume has increased especially when TV shows on current affairs reported it. There are more periods with increased search volume for Mobile than PC. Also, it was mainly commented about safety of MSG, criticism of low-quality foods, abuse of MSG, and distrust of government below the news on the Yonhap news site. The label of MSG-no added products in market emphasized "MSG-free" even though it is allocated as an acceptable daily intake (ADI) not-specified by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). When consumers search for MSG (monosodium L-glutamate) or purchase food on market, they might perceive that 'MSG-no added' products are better. Competent authorities, offices of education and local government provide guidelines based on no added MSG principle and these policies might affect consumers' perceptions. TV program or news program could be a powerful and effective consumer communication channel about MSG through Mobile rather than PC. Therefore media including TV should report item on monosodium L-glutamate with responsibility and information based on scientific background for consumers to get reliable information.

The study analyzed the greenness index that residents experience on the streets of rural areas, where characteristics are different from those of urban areas and the effects of these characteristics were investigated. In Yesan-gun, Chungnam, in order to analyze the greenness indices, the streets were categorized into 7 types. Then, two types of streetscape greenness indices were surveyed, analyzed, and compared. One is the street-trees greenness index which takes into account only the trees lining the street and the other is the street greenness index considering total artificial green, natural green, and productive green surfaces. As a result, using the street-tree greenness index the street greenness index of Yesan-gun was analyzed as 15.93% on national highways, 26.14% for local roads, 28.28% for gun-roads, 24.72% for myun-roads, 40.70% for li-roads, 32.78% for nong-roads, and 18.36% for urban planning roads. Using the street greenness index, the street-trees greenness index was analyzed to be 5.02% for national highways, 9.10% for local roads, 8.55% for gun-roads, 4.51% for myun-roads, 6.92% for li-roads, 2.56% for nong-roads, and 9.39% for urban planning roads. To analyze what factors have an impact on the street-trees greenness index and the street greenness index, the study analyzed the effects of street side-land uses, lane types, street-trees, and sidewalks. As a result, both the street greenness index and the street-trees greenness index responded according to the land use adjacent to the street, lane types, and sidewalks. The street greenness index did not change due to the existence of street-trees, but the street-trees greenness index did. Through comparison with other studies, it was found that Yesan-gun needs to improve its streetscape to improve its greenness index rating.

개인의 정보통신에 대한 수요가 증가하면서 음성 위주의 무선통신은 인터넷 지원이 가능한 데이터 중심 의 무선통신으로 빠르게 전환하고 있어 무선통신 환경에서 전자상거래를 비롯한 데이터 서비스의 제공이 미래 정보통신산업의 핵심이 될 것이다. 이러한 환경 속에서 여러 매체나 보도를 통해 쉽게 접하는 용어중의 하나가 바로 무선인터넷 전자상거래(M-Commerce)이다. 이런 M-Commerce는 휴대용 무선기기를 사용한 모든 인터넷 비즈니스를 통칭하는 말로써 구매자와 판매자의 정보를 통하여 각각이 필요로 하는 상품이나 서비스를 이동 컴퓨팅 단말을 통하여 연결시켜 주는 서비스이다. 그러나 무선통신 환경에서 데이터 서비스가 원활하게 제공되기 위해서는 인터넷에서와 마찬가지로 정보보호 문제가 반드시 선결되어야한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 데이터의 비밀성, 무결성, 인증 메카니즘, 부인봉쇄 서비스 등 기본적인 정보보호 서비스를 갖춘 안전한 M-Commerce 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

보행자 추적은 무인 자동차 시스템, 보안 또는 감시 시스템, 횡단보도 신호제어 시스템 등 실세계의 다양한 응용 분야에서 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 걸어다니는 보행자의 움직임 정보를 이용하여 다수의 보행자를 추적하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 보행자의 움직임 정보는 연속된 두 개의 비디오 프레임간의 그레이 레벨 차를 이용하여 추하고, 이를 통하여 물체를 검출한다. 검출된 물체에는 보행자뿐만 아니라 다른 이동 물체가 포함될 수 있으므로 프로젝션 히스토그램(PH: Projection Histogram)을 생성한 후 보행자 유형을 기반으로 PH를 분석하여 보행자를 검출, 추적한다. 제안된 방법의 성능 평가를 위해서 복잡한 도시 환경 영상에 적용하고 그 성공적인 결과를 보인다.

The case of 'Paik Jong-moon's Taped Conversation,' has presented "an important and serious challenge to the freedom of the press and democracy" in South Korea. Nevertheless, this case has not been reported by the mainstream news media. It has also been forgotten without a proper fact-finding or investigation by regulatory agencies, like The Foundation for Broadcast Culture, The Korea Communications Commission, or The National Assembly. This study aims to examine why the above has happened through in-depth interviews of reporters and TV producers, senior journalists, former and incumbent commissioners of the broadcasting regulatory agencies, and experts of the industry, as well as literature research. Here, I present three answers. First, I found two reasons the mainstream press has ignored this incident. 1) It serves for political interests instead of reporting truth. 2) Public broadcasters' watchdog role has been neutralized. Second, regulatory agencies like The Foundation for Broadcast Culture, The Korea Communications Commission and The National Assembly are ruled by political tribalism. The ruling party's members of the National Assembly and these agencies were reluctant to investigate allegations surrounding Paik Jong-moon, such as illegal dismissals, illegal intervention in programming or production, illegal recruitment and illegal business deals. That's because they considered CEO Paik an ally. Using their majority power, they have rejected the request from opposition-affiliated commissioners or from opposition lawmakers to investigate the allegations. Third, there were no alternative forces within the public broadcasters to unveil the truth. In conclusion, the legal and institutional shake-up of corporate governance is urgently needed for public broadcasters and broadcasting regulatory agencies.

Recently, incidents such as proxy surgery (unlicensed medical practice) have been reported in the media that threaten the safety of patients. Alternatives such as the introduction of operating room surveillance camera devices to prevent proxy surgery are emerging, but there are practical difficulties in implementing them due to strong opposition from the medical community. However, the social credibility of doctors is falling as incidents such as proxy surgery occur frequently. In this paper, we propose a medical staff identification system combining Beacon and iris recognition. The system adds reliability by operating on the blockchain network. The system performs primary identification by performing user authentication through iris recognition and proves that the medical staff is in the operating room through beacons. It also ensures patient trust in the surgeon by receiving beacon signals in the background and performing iris authentication at random intervals to prevent medical staff from leaving the operating room after only performing initial certification.

Presently, pedestrian's signal time models in korea are not considering Vulnerable-Pedestrian. So, the safety of Vulnerable-Pedestrian is being threatener and the number of accidents is increasing. Besides, the existing operational system for pedestrians can't offer the cross signal time in road corresponded the changing environment when the school zone is revitalized and the Silver zone is introduced for Vulnerable-Pedestrian. Conclusively, Vulnerable-Pedestrian's signal time models which are able to consider classified Vulnerable-Pedestrian speed, Vulnerable-Pedestrian perception-reaction time, Vulnerable-Pedestrian Spare(congestion-delay) time are suggested by the result of experiment in virtual crosswalk. the application of suggested models in this study to the site. It is possible to use as a basic stuff on study of pedestrian's signal time and expected to contribute the safety and mobility in future.

The purpose of this study is to develop the U-turn accident model at signalized intersections in urban areas. The characteristics of the accidents which are associated with U-turn operation at 3 and 4-legged signalized intersections was analyzed and the U-turn accident model was developed by regression analysis in Changwon city. First, in order to analyze the effectiveness on traffic accidents by U-turn installation, the difference of mean of traffic accident number are measured between two groups which are composed by whether or not U-turn installation the groups by Mann-Whitney U test. The result of significance test showed that intergroup comparison on mean by accident types made difference except rear-end accident type and by accident locations exit section only showed difference in significance level at 4-legged intersections, so the accident number have more where the U-turn is permitted than not. Response measures about the number of accidents were classified by whether accidents occurred and accident model were constructed using binomial logistic regression analysis method. The developed models show that the variables of conflict traffic, number of opposing lane are adopted as independent variable for both intersections. The variables of longitudinal grade for 3-legged signalized intersection and number of crosswalk for 4-legged signalized intersection at which the U-turn is permitted is adopted as independent variable only. These study results suggest that U-turn would be permitted at the intersection where the number of opposing lane is more than 3.5 each, the longitudinal grade of opposing road is upward flow and there is need to establish the U-turn traffic sign at signalized intersections.
