A Study on the Optimum Size Calculation of Unit Classroom in Elementary School Based on the Size of the Human Body and the Layout of Teaching Tools and Desks (인체치수와 교구배치를 고려한 초등학교 일반교실의 규모산정계획에 관한 연구)

  • This study is for the size calculation of classroom based on the size of human body and teaching tools. The curriculum of Elementary school has been changed since 1960. It has been reflected on the size of classroom of elementary school. The new education curriculum-the 7th curriculum- demands various activities in classroom. And the Ministry of Education repealed the statute about the facilities of the schools on September in 1997. So we need to different size of unit space of the classroom in elementary school because the size of classroom will affect the quality of education. It is generally known that a part of human body-size has an invariable proportion with human's status, age and weight. In this study, regression analysis is used to find out a part of human body-size of Korean. Then the size of classroom is calculated by the part of human body-size, teaching tools and the type of desk arrangement.

Effect of swimming exercise on anti-angiogenesis of white adipose tissue in high-fat diet-fed female ovariectomized mice (고지방식이를 섭취한 난소절제 암컷 쥐의 수영운동이 백색지방조직의 항혈관신생에 미치는 효과)

  • This study investigated whether swimming exercises improves obesity through regulation of angiogenesis in white adipose tissue. Female mice with high-fat diets were divided into sham-operated group (Sham), ovariectomized group (OVX), and swim-trained ovariectomized group (OVX + Swim). Compared to the Sham, OVX increased body weight, adipose tissue mass and size of adipocyte. However, these factors (: such as body weight, adipose tissue mass and size of adipocyte) of OVX + Swim decreased compared with OVX. Compared with the Sham, OVX increased the mRNA expression of angiogenic activator and MMPs and decreased the mRNA expression of angiogenic inhibitors in white adipose tissue. But OVX + Swim decreased the mRNA expression of angiogenic activator and MMPs and increased the mRNA expression of angiogenic inhibitors in white adipose tissue, compared with the OVX. Theses results suggested that swimming exercises the angiogenesis in white adipose tissue, resulting to improve obesity in high-fat diet-fed female OVX mice.

A Comparison study on the relationship between the Self-reported Voice Problem and Body Mass Index (자가 음성평가와 체질량지수의 특성 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between self-reported voice problem and body mass index. Data were collected from the 5th Korea National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (2010) from 5,811 subjects(2,503 men and 3,308 women) aged 19 years and olders. chi-square, t-test and multi-nominal logistic regression analysis were used that to compare self-reported voice problem and variable(age, sex, hight, weight, waist measurement, body mass index). body mass index(OR=1.028, 95% CI: 1.003-1.056) was independently associated with self-reported voice problem(p<0.031). also over weight-two step obesity (OR=1.765, 95% CI: 1.036-3.006) were independently associated with self-reported voice problem(p<0.036). The results of comparison verified that body mass index are valuable self-reported voice problem of risk factor. when the evaluation were conducted, what was considered body mass index is needed.

Elephant Hawk-Moth (Deilephila elpenor L.) as a Herbivore of the Bog-bean (Menyanthes trifoliata L.), an Endangered Plant Species (멸종위기식물인 조름나물의 섭식자로서의 주홍박각시)

  • Even though many researches are conducted for the conservation and restoration of endangered species Menyanthes trifoliata, recently, there is no study on the threatening factors to this plant. This is the first time in Korea to study growth and feeding characteristics of Deilephila elpenor as a threatening factor to Menyanthes trifoliata through an experiment. Experiment was done with 6 Eephant hawk-moth larvae and change of body weight, food preference, and ingestion amount of Bog-bean were investigated. It took 27 days from larva to pupa and maximum body weight of lavae was in the range of 4-7.5g. The food preference sequence of the lavae was Menyanthes trifoliata, Impatiens balsamina, Ampelopsis brevipedunculata var. heterophylla, Parthenocissus tricuspidata. Ingestion model shows the total amount of ingestion by a larva is 11-30g and this amount can be acquired at $0.03-0.08m^2$ of Menyanthes trifoliata pure stand. This study showed Deilephila elpenor as a potential threatening factor and suggests that the conservation and restoration plan of endangered species Menyanthes trifoliata include the control plan of Deilephila elpenor, also.

The effect of swimming plus hypolipidemic agent on obesity (비만에 대한 고지혈증 치료제와 수영운동의 병합처방의 효과)

  • Obesity is frequently associated with metabolic disease. This study showed whether fenofibrate, a hypolipidemic agent, swimming and swimming combined with fenofibrate (: combination) regulate obesity, and whether combination is more effective than fenofibrate on regulation of obesity in high-fat diet-fed mice for 8 weeks. Both fenofibrate and swimming decreased obesity-associated factors such as body weight, adipose tissue mass, serum lipid levels and adipoctye size, compared with control mice. When mice were concomitantly treated with fenofibrate and swimming, combination reduced further the inhibitory effects on obesity-associated factors, compared with fenofibrate. Both fenofibrate, swimming and combination decreased serum glucose levels, compared with control mice. The evidence is presented herein that combination were effective to control obesity and serum glucose levels, suggesting that swimming combined with fenofibrate might contribute to inhibition of high-fat diet fed-induced metabolic syndrome.

Reduction of Visceral and Body Fats in Mice by Supplementation of Conjugated Linoleic Acid with γ-Oryzanol (Conjugated linoleic acid와 γ-oryzanol 혼합물의 생쥐 체지방 및 복부지방 감소 효과)

  • The synergistic effect of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and $\gamma$-oryzanol (OZ) on the reduction of visceral and body fats was investigated in mice. Female ICR mice, 10 weeks of age, were acclimated for one week and then randomly divided into 5 treatment groups by body weights: Control (70 ${\mu}l$ olive oil + 30 ${\mu}l$ CLA), CLA-OZ 1 (70 ${\mu}l$ olive oil + 30 ${\mu}l$ CLA + OZ 0.5 mg), CLA-OZ 2 (70 ${\mu}l$ olive oil + 30 ${\mu}l$ CLA + OZ 1.0 mg), OZ (100 ${\mu}l$ olive oil + OZ 1.0 mg), and Olive oil (100 ${\mu}l$ olive oil). Samples were daily intubated, p.o., for 4 weeks. Food and water were ad libitum. Four weeks later, mice were sacrificed by neck dislocation, followed by measuring whole body weight, empty carcass weight (ECW), which is weight without organs and visceral fats, visceral fats, body fats and protein content. Mice treated with CLA (control) sample maintained significantly, p<0.05, lower whole body weight, ECW, visceral and body fats, relative to mice treated with olive oil sample, indicating that CLA reduces the visceral and body fats. The CLA-OZ 1 treatment significantly reduced, p<0.05, visceral and body fats as compared to OZ treatment, but not significantly different from control treatment.Meanwhile, CLA-OZ 2-treated mice maintained significantly, p<0.05, lower visceral and body fats than control and OZ-treated mice. Protein contents in mice were not affected by any other treatments. These results suggest that OZ enhanced the reduction of visceral and body fats in mice by CLA.

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 발생되는 기상이변의 원인인 에너지의 과도한 사용을 감소시키기 위하여 사용자가 인지하지 못하는 동안 낭비되고 있는 대기전력을 자동으로 제어하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 현재 사용되고 있는 대기전력 제어 시스템의 경우 일정 전력 이하의 전력량이 감지되면 자동으로 차단하는 형태로 운영되고 있으나 재가동을 위해서는 사용자의 수동 제어에 의존해야 하는 불편함이 발생한다. 이에 본 논문은 사용하지 않는 가전기기의 대기전력을 차단할 뿐만 아니라 사용자의 편의성을 고려하여 자동으로 전력을 재공급하는 대기전력 컨트롤러를 구현한다. 기기의 전력 재공급은 각 사용자별 기기 사용패턴을 고려하여 구현하였으며, 이때 사용자의 구분은 2개의 Ultrasonic 센서로부터 산출된 사용자의 키와 무게 감지 센서로부터 산출된 사용자의 몸무게를 활용하였다.

  • 현재 많은 국가들이 복지를 위해 많은 투자와 지원을 하고 있으며, 이러한 시대의 배경을 바탕으로 복지에 많은 관심이 몰리고 있으며, 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 전 세계적으로 의료가 발달하면서 인간의 수명은 늘어나게 되고, 노인들의 증가로 인하여, 노인에 대한 복지가 문제가 되고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 이동에 불편함을 느끼거나, 주기적인 관리나 보호가 필요한 노인들이 집에 있으면서 여러 가지 서비스들을 이용 가능하도록 도와주는 기능을 제공한다. 이 시스템을 사용하는 노인들은 기본적인 혈압이나 몸무게 등 측정과 관련된 서비스를 이용할 수 있고, 기초적인 집안일도 서비스로 이용 받을 수 있다. 또한, 관리자가 집을 방문하고, 관리자는 노인이 설정해 놓은 측정 및 서비스들을 확인할 수 있다.
