도서관에서 기술의 진보와 표준화로 인해 분류 목록 업무가 근본적으로 달라지진 않았지만 목록 작성 방법이나 이용자에게로의 제공 방법은 분명히 변하였다. 따라서 이러한 업무를 책임져야하는 정리 부서 담당 사서는 전에 비해 여러가지 자질을 필요로 하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 American Libraries라는 미국 도서관계 잡지의 사서직 구인 광고를 바탕으로 1970년도부터 1995년도에 이르기까지 변화한 목록사서의 임용조건을 직책명, 목록경력, 업무감독 경력, 서지 유틸리티, 기계가독형 목록 경험, 분류체계, 기타 경력, 인성, 언어, 주제 분야 등의 요소로 나누어 분석하여 관련 교육 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

This study aims at understanding in detail the process of constructing database from outsourced cataloging by investigating the actual conditions of university libraries nationwide regarding the outsourcing of cataloging processing that are being carried out in technical processing. And librarians' opinions about the cataloging inserted by outsourcing companies are considered and revised in depth. Also the degree of understanding of outsourcing company staffs regarding the cataloging is investigated then compared to that of library processing staffs and the difference is analyzed. Coupled with that, degree of understanding about CIP of National Library of Korea and functionality of reference cataloging of Korea Education & Research Information Service(KERIS) is investigated, thus the future directions to which technical processing of library should move forward are presented.

This study intends to make a comprehensive investigation on the present stage of library catalogs in Korea. To the end, this study analyzed the utility of the library catalog from both librarians' and end-user's viewpoint. Emphasis was on analyzing the different viewpoints between these two groups and on verifying the problems of library catalogs in such a rapidly changing information environments. The result of this study is expected to be useful in preparing both strategies and methods to enhance the utility of library catalogs.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the ways to apply describing attributes and relationships of person to Korean Cataloging Rules. In order to achieve the objective of this study, the conceptual models such as FRBR and FRAD, and the cataloging rules such as AACR2R, RDA, and KCR2 were compared and analyzed. For describing attributes of person, this study analyzed names, dates, titles, fuller form of names, genders, places, affiliations, languages, fields of activity, professions or occupations, biographical information, and identifiers of person. For describing relationships of persons, this study investigated describing relationships to persons associated with each resource, such as a work, an expression, a manifestation, and an item, and describing relationships between persons, relationships between persons and families, and relationships between persons and corporate bodies. Based on these analyses, this study suggested the application methods of describing attributes and relationships of persons in Korean Cataloging Rules.

The alms of this study is to analyse the user's behavior, satisfaction, difficulties and selection of retrieval keywords for the use of Web-based OPAC in the College students. The methods of the questionnaire and the interview was applied to get the data and processed by using SPSSWIN 10.1. Several research results was proved the hypothesis such as differences between major subject of students in their fields. Furthermore, based on the result of this analysis, another purpose is to come up with the Improvements of functions prompting difficulties and answers to problems found in the Web OPAC, helping them to use the Web OPAC efficiently.

In this paper we outline the evolving process of the cataloguing rules in Korea focused on the standardization. We analyzed the new and updated rules under the KCR4( Korean Cataloguing Rules, 4th edition) in terms of usability of the catalogue. Our findings can be summarized as follows: 1) Since there are the rules of the unlimited number of the statement of responsibility, the access point is expanded and may bring the high searchability as a result, 2) Since the rules of the general material designations are added, the catalogue users may easily identify the material, 3) Since the rules of the material specific details area are added, the catalogue users may easily understand the characteristics and other features of a publication, 4) The KCR4 seems a kind of the integrated cataloguing rules for diverse types of materials including the monographs, 5) Since the rules of choice and forms of the access point treated in the authority control, there seem some Problems in usability of the catalogue, 6) The concept of the uniform heading is eliminated which seems considered only for the convenience of the cataloguers not for usability of the catalogue.

The rise of music resources has led to a parallel rise in the need to manage thousands of songs on user devices. So users are tend to build play-list for manage songs. However the manual selection of songs for creating play-list is bothersome task. This paper proposes an auto play-list recommendation system considering user's context of use and preference. This system has two separate systems: mood and emotion classification system and music recommendation system. Users need to choose just one seed song for reflection their context of use and preference. The system recommends songs before the current song ends in order to fill up user play-list. User also can remove unsatisfied songs from recommended song list to adapt user preferences of the system for the next recommendation precess. The generated play-lists show well defined mood and emotion of music and provide songs that user preferences are reflected.

The purpose of the study is to develop a unit catalog system that can be linked with the curriculum. As for the research method, first, unit subject words were extracted through the analysis of middle school curriculum and science textbooks in all grades. Based on this, we designed a unit catalog system that has a unit book catalog by connecting books related to the unit topic of the subject, an index word catalog that organizes unit subject words into index words, and a grade and school level linked subject linked to the unit topic as a subsystem. Using the Notion program, a unit catalog system was implemented on the web using a middle school science unit 1 as a sample. To evaluate the system, experiments and surveys were conducted targeting students, and very positive results were shown in terms of satisfaction with the system and intention to use it in the future. Meanwhile, this study was limited to middle school science departments, but it was proposed to expand the application to all grades and subjects.

For bibliotherapy, users should understand their own life situation, select and access the book (self-help book). User access to book through situation catalog (or list) in reading list, but user is difficult to define and simplify in one word after understanding their own situation. Catalog of bibliotherapy reading list classifies books using one situation category or maximum of two categories other than the age-specific classification. In this study, the author approached and analyzes based on the result of the research on the relationship between bibliotherapy and reading list, in order that access more efficiently to book what user wants. Bibliotherapy reading-list by using mapping and crosswalk between categories, and analyzes category of reading lists through comprehensive review.

Resource Description and Access(RDA) was published in 2008, reflecting IFLA IME ICC's International Cataloguing Principles(ICP), conceptual model for cataloging of Functional Requirement for Bibliographic Records(FRBR), and conceptual model for authority data of Functional Requirement for Authority Data(FRAD). Therefore, new tags and fields have been added to MARC21 format, and researches about the prototype have been studied to implement FRBR as envisioned by the new RDA standard. According to the innovative international cataloging environments, KCR and KORMARC must be revised to accommodate RDA description. This study was to grasp occurrence rate of work and expression element of FRBR and RDA among MARC field of Hansung University library and to analyze limitation of MARC data for RDA. Based on this limitations, cataloging rules and tags and fields of KORMARC were suggested to accommodate RDA in national cataloging environment. This study reviewed cataloging rules such like representation, main entry and rule of three, preferred title, types of content, media and carrier. This study is to suggest the consideration of KCR and KORMARC for RDA in Korea.
