  • Big data analysis is a technique for effectively analyzing unstructured data such as the Internet, social network services, web documents generated in the mobile environment, e-mail, and social data, as well as well formed structured data in a database. The most big data analysis techniques are data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and pattern recognition, which were used in existing statistics and computer science. Global research institutes have identified analysis of big data as the most noteworthy new technology since 2011. Therefore, companies in most industries are making efforts to create new value through the application of big data. In this study, we analyzed using the Social Matrics which a big data analysis tool of Daum communications. We analyzed public perceptions of "Artificial Intelligence" keyword, one month as of May 19, 2018. The results of the big data analysis are as follows. First, the 1st related search keyword of the keyword of the "Artificial Intelligence" has been found to be technology (4,122). This study suggests theoretical implications based on the results.

WebRSF: A Web-based Rich Communication Service Software Framework for Providing the 1-to-1 Chat Service (WebRSF: 1대 1 대화 서비스 제공을 위한 웹 기반 리치 커뮤니케이션 서비스 소프트웨어 프레임워크)

  • The Rich Communication Service(RCS) is a next generation mobile messaging service. Since it has been developed and managed by a wireless service provider, 3rd party application developers cannot utilize the RCS features in their apps. A few studies have been proposed to solve this problem, even though they were not viable level of deployment. This paper presents a Web-based Rich Communication Service Software Framework(WebRSF) to help the 3rd party application developers adopt RCS features easily. WebRSF converts complicated RCS protocols to simple web-based protocols for providing the RCS 1-to-1 chat service to the 3rd parties. Communication protocols between WebRSF and its clients are defined in this paper. Also, a network configuration diagram and a message flow diagram are defined. Finally, performance evaluation between the WebRSF client and the RCS client are performed to simulate the load on clients' devices. It shows that the WebRSF client has 17% less loads than the RCS client while initiating sessions, and has 25% more loads after initiating sessions.

Design and Implementation of Kernel Binder Cache for Accelerating Android IPC (안드로이드 IPC 가속화를 위한 커널 바인더 캐쉬의 설계 및 구현)

  • In Android platform, as applications invoke various service functions through IPC (Inter-Process Communication), IPC performance is critical to the responsiveness in Android. However, Android offers long IPC latency of hundreds of micro-seconds due to complicated software stacks between the kernel Binder and the user-level process Context Manager. This separation provides modularity and flexibility, but degrades the responsiveness of services owing to additional context switching and inefficient request handling. In this paper, we anatomize Android IPC mechanisms and observe that 55% of IPC latency comes from the communication overhead between Binder and Context Manager. Based on this observation, this paper proposes a kernel Binder cache that retains a popular subset of service function mappings, thereby reducing the requests transferred to the user-level daemon. The proposed Binder cache is implemented in Android 5.0 and experimental results with various benchmarks show that the proposed cache architecture improves performance by 52.9% on average.

Consequences of Brand Identity Letter Type for Brand Image (국내기업의 전용서체 개발과 배포가 브랜드 이미지에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the consequences of using a company's own letter type for the brand image. After evaluating the brand image of companies that have their own letter types, the study concluded that the fact a company has its own letter type works positively for the brand image. In addition, the survey respondents see the corporate activity for developing letter types as an action for the public interest, and they agree with an argument that each company' own letter type can symbolize the company as CI. By studying literatures in the field of cognitive science, the study indicates that for communication through the letter type with consumers, companies should be careful when choosing their specific letter types and that repetitive exposure to a letter type helps people recognize it through a human experiment.

Perceived Social Presence in the Text-Based Media: Mobile Communication Case (문자기반 매체에서 느끼는 사회적 현존감: 모바일 커뮤니케이션의 사례)

  • Since the advent of smart phone, a variety of text-based media are developed and used as popular communication tools even in mobile phone environment. This study explores differences in terms of users' perceived social presence level across different text-based media, specifically KakaoTalk, Facebook, SMS. A survey was conducted using items adopted from previous studies on social presence. 203 data points were collected and used for analysis. Across the whole sample, KakaoTalk is perceived as the highest in terms of perceived social presence level, followed by Facebook and SMS. Also, the users with higher level of sociality tends to reveal higher level of perceived social presence across all the media while younger and/or student users tend to maintain higher level of social presence perception across all the media. Further studies seem necessary investigating features of specific medium that may increase or decrease the perceived level of social presence.

Designing an Instructional Model for Smart Technology-Enhanced Team-Based Learning (스마트 테크놀로지를 활용한 팀 기반 학습 모형 설계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore and develop a new instructional approach to a technology-enhanced, collaborative learning environment called Smart technology-enhanced Team-Based Learning (S-TBL). We designed a novel instructional model that combines mobile technology, collaborative teamwork, a problem-solving process, and a variety of evaluation techniques from the viewpoint of a conventional team-based model. Based on the traditional TBL model, we have integrated smart learning technologies: 1) to provide a holistic learning environment that integrates learning resources, assessment tools, and problem solving spaces; and 2) to enhance collaboration and communication between team members and between an instructor and his or her students. The S-TBL instructional approach combines: 1) individual learning and collaborative team learning; 2) conceptual learning and problem-solving & critical thinking; 3) both individual and group assessment; 4) self-directed learning and teacher-led instruction; and 5) personal reflection and publication.

  • The development of social platforms and digital technology has promoted the age of the communication in our society. As online communication has become commonplace, expressing feelings, thoughts and experiences on the Internet has become an everyday routine. Among them, SNS is one of the representative platforms for expressing oneself easily and interacting with other users. The way of communicating with the SNS about what they did and what experiences they experienced from one's everyday lives became more common. As a result, the museum makes various efforts to enhance visitors' attention and interest with the use of SNS. It provides a content-based programs and museum environment that allow visitors to enjoy playing and learning at the same time. This study will explore not only a simple appreciation, but also the way of communicating to everyday life in terms of the changes for museum environment through the development, implementation and adaptations of digital technology. Through this, mobile-based communication with SNS provides various values and quality of museum visit, can be completed with meaningful museum experience, and various roles and functions of the museum are examined in terms of social platform of experience.

  • 최근 지식정보 사회는 IT가 핵심 구성요소인 스마트 사회로 변모하고 있으며, 인간과 사물 간 의사소통에서 사물과 사물 간 의사소통까지 확장하고, IT간 융합에서 나아가 타 산업과 융합하는 지능형 사회로 나아가고 있다. '공간'에 대한 정보는 '시간'과 함께 인간이 생활하는데 있어 반드시 알아야 하는 가장 근본적인 정보로써, 공간에서 발생하는 정보를 기반으로 다른 사람들과 소통을 하고 목적을 충족함으로써 삶의 질을 향상시킨다. 현대 사회에서 공간정보는 중요한 인프라 가치를 증대시키므로 새로운 사회 패러다임 전환을 위한 필수적인 요소라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수재해 정보 플랫폼 구현에 앞서 사용자의 니즈를 만족시키고 효용가치 증대가 가능하도록 공간정보서비스 활용 방안 연구를 하고자 한다. 공간정보는 시대의 흐름에 따라 형태 및 생산?활용방법이 달라졌으나 항상 중요한 정보로 인식되어 왔으며, 미래 공간정보는 단순 콘텐츠 영역을 뛰어넘어 상황(Context)정보까지 범위를 확장하였다. (1)미국의 공간정보는 시설, 기록관리 및 지도와 같은 공공분야에서 현재는 업무통합관리, 의사결정지원 등에서 데이터 웨어하우스(Data Warehouse)로서의 역할 담당한다. (2)일본은 아시아 최고의 원천기술력을 보유하고 있으며, 높은 수준의 GIS, RS(위성항측), ITS(지능형 교통 시스템) 기술을 기반으로 하고 있다. (3)영국은 지리정보시스템과 공공서비스를 접목하여 시민의 요구에 부응하는 고객맞춤형서비스 제공을 국가정보화의 우선과제로 선정하고 있다. (4)우리나라는 초고속통신망과 모바일 기술 등 세계 최고 수준의 인프라를 확보하고 있어, 이러한 인프라 기반융 복합 공간정보서비스를 이용하는데 안정적인 기반을 확보하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내외 공간정보서비스의 패러다임 변화 및 추진 동향 등을 제시하였으며, 수재해정보 플랫폼 활용에 능동적 적극적으로 접근할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다. 공간정보서비스를 활용하여 커뮤니케이션 강화, 수재해 정보 서비스의 효율성 증진, 재해부문 선진화 측면에서 발전적 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 특히 각종 현안에 대한 미래 예측 및 대응에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
