This study aimed to evaluate of the hardened properties (mortar consistency, setting time, absorption properties, drying shrinkage, and bond strength) of the basalt powder sludge mortar recycling a basalt powder sludge occurred during the manufacture process of basalt stone as a replacing material for the sea-sand used to cement filling compound for surface preparation. The hardened mortar made of the basalt powder sludge showed an enhanced performance or similar with the properties of normal mortar used to cement filling compound for surface preparation. But, the drying shrinkage was increased more than a normal cement mortar in the hardened mortar made of the basalt powder sludge since curing 8 - 9days. And the bond strength is low in the hardened mortar used the basalt powder sludge. On the whole, properties of the hardened mortar used the basalt powder sludge correspond to the required minimum quality criterion in the KS F 4716 'cement filling compound for surface preparation'.

The objective of this study is to develop a mortar mixture with high workability and adhesive strength for section jacketing in seismic strengthening technology of existing concrete structures. To achieve targeted requirements of the mortars (initial flow exceeding 200 mm, compressive strength of 30MPa, and adhesive strength exceeding 1MPa), step-by-step tests were conducted under the variation of the following mixture parameters: water-to-binder ratio, sand-to-binder ratio, polymer-to-binder ratio, dosage of viscosity agent, and content of ultra-rapid-hardening cement. The adhesive strength of the mortars was also estimated with respect to the various surface treatment states of existing concrete. Based on the test results, the mortar mixture with the polymer-to-binder ratio of 10% and the content of ultra-rapid-hardening cement of 5% can be recommended for the section jacketing materials. The recommended mortar mixture satisfied the targeted requirements as follows: initial flow of 220 mm, high-early strength gain, 28-day compressive strength of 35MPa, and adhesive strength exceeding 1.2MPa.
In this study, we investigated the strength, shrinkage and durability of alkali-activated mortar using blast furnace slag only, and admixed with blast-furnace slag and fly ash as cementious materials in oder to develop cementless alkali-activated concrete. In order to compare with the alkali-activated mortar, the normal mortar using ordinary portland cement was also test. In view of the results, we found out that strength development, the resistance to shrinkage and freezing-thawing of the cementless alkali-activated mortar have better than the mortar using ordinary portland cement. Especially, using the combined with blast furnace slag and fly ash develop high strength of above 60 MPa, reduce shrinkage of about 40% and improve freezing-thawing durability of approximately 20%, but promote the velocity of carbonation of 2~3 times.
The effects of polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content on the setting time and durability of high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As the result, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tends to be delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio, regardless of the antifoamer content. The water absorption, chloride ion penetration depth and carbonation depth of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content. The resistance of freezing and thawing and chemicals improvement is attributed to the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the incorporation of redispersible polymer powder
Concrete is much more easily damaged by various parameters than by the only one and performance reducing mechanism grows more complicated in that condition. In addition, the factors which really act in concrete structure tend to be activated in turn and the degradation of concrete is very rapidly progressed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the properties of polymer cement mortars under combined cures. The polymer cement mortars are prepared with various polymer types, polymer-cement ratios and cement-fine aggregate ratio, and tested for compressive and flexural strengths, accelerated carbonation, chloride ion penetration and acid resistance test, and freezing-thawing test. The properties of polymer cement mortars under combined cures is discussed. From the test results, polymer cement mortars have superior strengths compared with plain cement mortar under combined cures. The strengths of polymer cement mortars are markedly increased at curing condition II and V, however strengths are not improved at curing condition I and IV irregardless of polymer types. The carbonation and chloride ion penetration depths of polymer cement mortars tend to decrease in curing conditions, III-C, IV-B, V-A order, and decrease with increasing polymer cement ratios. It is concluded that polymer cement ratio of 10 to 15% are considered optimum for the preparation of such polymer cement mortars.

Tunnel structures are constructed even longer and more extensive these days than they were in the past. Because of this reason, breaking out a large scale of fire in tunnel structures is frequently. Recently, a noticeable event is reported that the temperature of inside of tunnel rises significantly when an oil car detonated in the tunnel and it reached 1,350$^{\circ}$C. It did damage to people who used the tunnel at that time and caused many demaged parts of tunnel to recover. To improve a fire resistance of tunnel, many methods are studied focused refractory concrete and mortar. This study deals with refractory mortar and is a part of initial basic step. In this study mechanical properties are considered before fire resistance test. As result of test for examination of mechanical properties, it is considered that a consistency and strength of refractory mortar in this study are suitable to construct.
The purpose of this study is to propose the more reasonable equation of bond strength of grout-filled splice sleeve. To accomplish this objective, total 60 full-sized specimens were tested under monotonic loading. The experimental variables are compressive strength of mortar, embedment length and size of reinforcing bars. Following conclusions are obtained; 1) If the adequacy of existing equations which estimate the bond strength of grout-filled splice sleeve are investigated, they underestimate the bond strength of grout-filled splice sleeve by 8-18%. Also the existing equations have a tendency to underestimate with decrease in the embedment length of reinforcing bars. 2) From the test result of bond failure, the equation which estimates the confining pressure of grout-filled splice sleeve was proposed by making multiple regression analyses of which independent variables are embedment length of reinforcing bars and compressive strength of mortar. This equation predicted the measured bond capacity of this test more accurately than existing equations and eliminated the deviation according to the embedment length of reinforcing bars.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect of the monomer ratio on properties of the polymer-modified mortars based on styrene and butyl acrylate latexes, and to obtain basic data necessary to develop appropriate latexes for cement modifiers. This paper deals with the effects of monomer ratio on the typical properties of the polymer-modified mortars with styrene and butyl acrylate latexes. The polymer-modified mortars using the styrene and butyl acrylate latexes polymerized with various monomer ratios are prepared with different polymer-cement ratios, and tested for the particle size of polymer latexes, air contents, water-cement ratios, flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption, and chloride-ion penetration. From the test results, the polymer-modified mortars using styrene and butyl acrylate latexes with the mix proportions of synthesis having monomer ratios of 50:50 to 60:40 for the appropriate mix proportions can be recommended for practical applications. Their basic properties are greatly affected by the polymer-cement ratio rather than the monomer ratio, and are improved over un-modified mortar.
This study was evaluated that fundamental quality properties in the mortar level, as part of a basic study for development of fiber reinforced concrete using basalt fiber. Mortar mixtures used in the experiments used the mortar using cement only and high volume fly ash mortar using fly ash of 50%, was evaluated by comparison. As a experiments results, high volume fly ash mortar using 50% fly ash was effective for improving fiber dispersibility than mortar using cement only, accordingly, it showed that fiber aggregation phenomenon has been greatly reduced. In addition, if the fly ash used much more than 50%, the compressive strength has been shown to decrease of about 30%, fiber length and mixing ratio of basalt fiber was found to have a greater effect on flow properties than mechanical properties.

The development of building must be accompanied with construction technology and performance of materials. In particular, wet processes have a high level of dependence on manpower and a low level of diversification of materials used. This study aimed to determine the applicability of various materials for wet process, mechanized construction and eco-friendly building materials through a comparison with dry premixed mortar. As a result, it was found that resin plaster and gypsum plaster's strength is lower than that of dry cement mortar, but their mechanization application, construction simplification, smoothness and bond strength are higher than that of dry cement mortar. And estimate that is valid as workability, bonding strength, eco-friendly building material in occasion of gypsum plaster.
