  • For the district heating and cooling business, it is required to install energy-saving facilities using energy from waste and land fill gases such as combined heat and power(CHP). The current issues that this business faces can be summarized as below: which facilities including CHP can be economically introduced and how much of their capacities should be. Most of such issues are clearly related to the optimal plant design of the district heating and cooling business, and the prices of energy services such as heating and cooling energy, and electricity. The purpose of this study is to establish linear program model of least cost function and to practice the empirical test on a assumed district heating and cooling business area. The model could choose the optimal type of energy-producing facilities among various kinds available such as CHP's, absorption chillers, the ice-storage system, etc. CHP with the flexible heat and power ratio is also in the set of available technologies. And the model show us the optimal ration of heat producing facilities between CHP and historical heat only boiler in the service area. Some implications of this study are summarized as below. Firms may utilize this model as a tool for the analysis of their optimal size of the facilities and operation. Also, the government may refer the results to regulate resonable size of business.

  • Cu$_{6}$Sn$_{5}$-dispersed 63Sn-37Pb solder bumps of 760$\mu\textrm{m}$ size were fabricated on Au(0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$)/Ni(5$\mu\textrm{m}$)/Cu(27$\pm$20$\mu\textrm{m}$) BGA substrates by screen printing process, and their shear strength were characterized with variations of dwell time at reflow peak temperature and aging time at 15$0^{\circ}C$ . With dwell time of 30 seconds at reflow peak temperature, the solder bumps with Cu$_{6}$Sn$_{5}$ dispersion exhibited higher shear strength than the value of the 63Sn-37Pb solder bump. With increasing the dwell time longer than 60 seconds, however the shear strength of the Cu$_{6}$Sn$_{5}$-dispersed solder bumps became lower than that the 63Sn-37Pb solder bumps. The failure surface of the solder bumps could be divided into two legions of slow crack propagation and critical crack propagation. The shear strength of the solder bumps was inversely proportional to the slow crack propagation length, regardless of the dwell time at peak temperature, aging time at 150 $^{\circ}C$ and the volume fraction of Cu$_{6}$Sn$_{5}$ dispersion.> 5/ dispersion.

  • A ultrasonic probe is very important in medical ultrasonic image, but the frequency of probe defects are often. Therefore practical tools for probe based ultrasonic QA should be developed. Advanced research on the effects of the probe defects on the quality of ultrasonic images is required. This study has investigated the effects of the defects in the probe elements influence Doppler images in the medical ultrasonic scanners. Especially the defects in a set of adjacent elements(SAE) electrically disconnected influence Doppler images were tested. The results show Doppler brightness and velocity became rapidly reduced as the defected elements is located centrally, as the defected elements is activated. The more the defected elements increased, the more Doppler brightness and velocity increased. As a set of the element disconnected moved, it appeared Doppler velocity starting to decrease and then was followed by brightness. The strength is not consistent with the velocity in the number and location of the defected elements. The defects in the probe elements influence Doppler velocity when the defected elements got out of the elements activated at Doppler mode.

  • Composite has become one of the most frequently used material for a tube of satellite camera due to its attractive characteristics. However, laminated composites can be weakened by delamination which comes from interlaminar stress. Such failure mode cause structural instability of the camera as well as degradation of optical quality. Therefore composite tube should be robust in delamination. Also, composite tube should have high stiffness, sufficient high natural frequency and small coefficient of thermal expansion. The design procedures presented in this paper are based on design of experiments. The experiments for mechanical analysis are designed by the tables of orthogonal arrays. In order to manipulate the various mechanical properties systematically, multiple-attribute decision making(MADM) is employed. Through analysis of variance and F-test, the critical design variables which have dominant influences on mechanical performance are determined. Finally improved ply angles for composite tube are determined.

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)is a one of the nst promising digital modulation techniques adapted for Digital audio broadcasting or Digital TV since it is very robust against multipath fading channels. From 1997, since the OFDM technique was considered as the physical layer standard for the high data rate wireless LAN systems in the 5㎓ band, related studies have been studied actively. The key element to implement high data rate wireless LAN system using OFDM technique are IFFT and FFT modules. In this paper, new IFFT and FFT module are designed and implemented using current cut circuit based on the matrix-rounding process for the low-power consumptive operation and high-speed data processing. In addition to, we certify the available operation of the rounded IFFT/FFT module in the AWGN channel by using the BER performance simulation of IEEE 802.11TGa based OFDM modem with rounded IFFT/FFT module.

  • This paper presents the design and the implementation of a MissCW(Multi user Interactive System for Synchronous Collaborative Writing). The document model DMDA(Distributed Multimedia Document Architecture) of MissCW consists of the logical structure, presentation style object, and mark object. The windows. The collaborative editor of this system proposes a structure oriented editing mechanism to combine distrbuted objects into one document. The middleware SOM(Shared Object Manager) maintains shared objects consistently and helps application programs use objects efficiently. The infrastructure of this system is a hybrid structure of replicated and centralized architectures, that is to maintain shared objects consistently inside of SOM and to reduce the overhead of network traffic. The central part is a virtual node which corresponds to the Object Controller of SOMwith the SOT(Shared Objet Table).

  • Attack on Cloud Computing, an intensive service solution using network infrastructure recently released, generates service breakdown or intrusive incidents incapacitating developmental platforms, web-based software, or resource services. Therefore, it is needed to conduct research on security for the operational information of three kinds of services (3S': laaS, PaaS, SaaS) supported by the Cloud Computing system and also generated data from the illegal attack on service blocking. This paper aims to build a system providing optimal services as a 4-stage defensive method through the test on the attack and defense of Cloud Computing services. It is a defense policy that conducts 4-stage, orderly and phased access control as follows: controlling the initial access to the network, controlling virtualization services, classifying services for support, and selecting multiple routes. By dispersing the attacks and also monitoring and analyzing to control the access by stage, this study performs defense policy realization and analysis and tests defenses by the types of attack. The research findings will be provided as practical foundational data to realize Cloud Computing service-based defense policy.

  • Knowing the mean free paths (MFPs) of thermal phonons is an essential step in performing heat transfer analysis for nanomaterials, and in determining the optimum design for tailoring the heat transfer characteristics of nanomaterials. In this study, we present a method that can be used to calculate accurately the phonon MFP spectra of nanostructures based on simple phonon kinetic theory. Here, the kinetic theory may be employed by extracting only the diffusive-transport part of the phonon spectrum (i.e., the MFPs are less than a thermal length). By considering phonon dispersion and polarization effects, the phonon MFP distributions of silicon at room temperature are calculated from phonon transport properties and the spectral MFP. Our results are validated by comparison with those of the first principle and MFP spectroscopy data.

  • As a preceding process for preparing several micrometer sized Ag-coated Cu flakes, ball milling of submicrometer-sized Cu particles synthesized through a wet chemical method was performed in order to convert the particles into flakes. To suppress oxidation and aggregation of the particles during ball milling, ethylene glycol and ethyl acetate were used as a medium and a surface modifying agent, respectively. Results obtained with different rotation speeds of a jar indicated that the rotation speed changes a rotating mode, and strikingly alters the final shapes and shape uniformity of Cu particles after milling. The diameter of zirconia ball was also confirmed. Although there was aggregates in the initial submicrometer-sized Cu particles, therefore, well-dispersed Cu flakes with a size of several micrometers were successfully prepared by ball milling through optimization of rotation speed, amount of ethyl acetate, and diameter of zirconia ball.

  • Polymer dispersed liquid crystal mode can be classified into two cases, normally scattering mode (NS) and normally transparent (NT) mode according to an initial state. Electro-optic characteristic NS/NT PDLC mode can be improved by controlling the factors to influence the phase separation. In case of NS PDLC mode, we inspected change of a phase separation as a function of curing temperature for the mixture of E7 and NOA65 with different ratios. When the LC concentration is less than polymer such as LC : NOA65 = 40 : 60wt%, the PDLC cell is influenced strongly by the curing temperature. However, when LC concentration is much less than polymer such as LC : NOA65 : 80 : 20wt%, it is influenced slightly by the curing temperature. In case of NT PDLC mode, we observed change of a phase separation as a function of the ratio of the mixture and UV conditions such as curing temperature, UV intensity The cell made with strong UV intensity and curing temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, in case that the ratio of LC to polymer is 70:30wt%, showed good electro-optic characteristics.
