The effects of online learning situation and learners' learning style on satisfaction in Blended Learning (온라인 학습상황과 학습자의 학습스타일이 블랜디드 러닝 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was executed to give a help in planning and implementing Blended learning through investigating the learners' satisfaction difference according to Blended learning situation and learners' trait. For this purpose this study divided online learning situation into three types to examine the influence on satisfaction. And participants was divided based on the learning style to examine the influence of the trait on satisfaction. The Blended learning satisfaction classified into four; web environment, content, face to face sessions, general view on Blended learning's implementation.

Pedagogy of E-Learning in Engineering Classes Using Multimedia Contents: Case of K University (멀티미디어 콘텐츠 기반의 공과대학 이러닝 교수법 연구: K대학 사례)

  • Whether the engineering department of universities employs ideal usage of e-learning or not needs to be investigated as many engineering departments diversify the use of the e-learning elements for educational purpose. Applying the teaching and learning methods and characteristics would lead to better strategies which are applied to development of contents and deployment of the e-learning courses. This study examines the characteristics and approaches of the usage of e-learning elements used by some instructors who use multimedia contents in offline teaching and learning environment. The results of this study shows that the e-learning elements assist the face-to-face course and the interactions are manifested in the classroom rather than in online setting. Lecture, hands-on-practice, simulation, and PBL(Problem-based learning) are turned out to be the major teaching and learning methods. This study signifies the need for use of various teaching and learning methods by the instructors and provision of PBL environment.

An Exploration of Interaction Factors and Analysis on Interaction-Level of Synchronous Online Education in University (대학 실시간 온라인 교육에서의 상호작용 요소 탐색과 수준 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore what are the interactive factors of synchronous online education in university and identify the level of interaction. This study used mixed research method. As a result of the interaction level, it was recognized that face-to-face education could be more interactive than synchronous online education. Synchronous online education could have better interactive between instructor and learner, and among learners than asynchronous online education. Factors which influencing the interaction were as follows: small group activities and scaffolding, diversification of communication channels and integration of learner's question in learning content. Detrimental elements were distance felt between instructor and learners, low intimacy among learners, content-focused lecture, restrictions on non-verbal communication, unstable systems and misusing microphones. The necessary factors to promote interaction are planning interactive class activities, etc. Based on the results, it was to suggest what kinds of efforts are needed to make interaction more effective in terms of teaching and learning method & activity, tool & system, and environment.

  • In the era of wireless internet, we are apt to use a mobile phone for learning mathematics, besides the pc computer and the notebook computer. This study was to investigate the effect of M-learning when students were given a wireless mobile phone in terms of their perspectives towards the use of a mobile phone, achievement and attitudes towards mathematics. They were the 3th grader in a high school, who were expected to take Aptitude Test for the entrance of the university level. The most students who took an ubiquitous environment of M-learning showed it as a benefit for learning mathematics and did not spend time at other activities such as listening to music, sending text-message, playing games, etc, but at the M-learning activities. The students who engaged in the M-learning activities were improved a significantly higher score at Aptitude Test than the students who took the make-up courses in the school and also did a significantly higher disposition towards mathematics which was caused by curiosity among 7 components of the mathematical disposition.

  • World-Wide Web으로 인하여 인터넷 상의 다양하고 고품질의 자료들을 교육 자료에 손쉽게 활용할 수 있는 시대가 도래하였다. 그러나 이러한 자료들은 교육적 효과를 극대화시키기 위해서 좀 더 정제되고, 교육과정에 맞는 흐름을 가질 필요가 있다. 이러한 과정의 흐름을 제공하기 위해서는 웹 상에서 분산되어 독립적으로 존재하는 디지털 문서들을 교육 목적에 맞게 새로운 순서, 즉 문맥화된 순서를 가진 자료로 재구성할 수 있어야 하며, 문서간의 부드러운 내용 전개를 위해서 부가적인 설명이나 기존 문서에 빠져 있는 내용들을 보완할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문의 연구과정에서 개발된 가상교육 시스템은 교사가 교육용 지식문서를 작성하여 면대면(face to face) 교육에서는 직접 학생들을 교육할 수 있는 교육 자료로 사용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 웹을 통해서는 학생 스스로가 부족한 부분을 원하는 시간에 학습할 수 있는 능동적인 교육 환경을 제공할 수 있다. 또한, 가상교육 시스템에 가상문서 개념을 도입함으로써 인터넷 상의 수많은 리소스들을 인용하는 것에 대한 부하를 막을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 상의 디지털 컨텐츠를 전문적인 지식을 가진 교사가 교육과정에 맞게 쉽게 재구성해 줄 수 있도록 가상교육 시스템을 설계 및 구현한 내용에 대해 기술한다.

Design of Web-Based Digital Contents for Cyber University (Cyber 대학을 위한 Web 기반 컨텐츠 설계)

  • The cyber university, which authoring systems for digital contents using multimedia technologies ate used for its courses, is highlighted to be a promising alternative for the current off-line education system. As the demand for the authoring system is constantly increasing, many systems, which emphasize the developers' convenience only, are currently used. Since the generated digital contents using these systems are failed to draw the learners' active interaction with contents, the new authoring system is expected to be existed. This paper presents, develops, and implements the new contents authoring system by using programing languages and/or software tools based on the storyboard. The presented, developed, and implemented system mimics the face-to-face education in off-line system, induces the users' active interaction with contents, and the effective evaluation system to the users.

  • This study intends to analyze the learning effect of asynchronous online classes used in education fields around the world after the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, we compared and analyzed the lecture evaluation and final exam questions of the HTML5 web programming course, which was conducted offline in 2019 and asynchronously online in 2020 due to COVID-19. As a result of the analysis, no significant difference was drawn between the two teaching methods in the lecture evaluation score and final exam score. However, contrary to concerns about the application of online classes to the entire curriculum, the lecture evaluation and final exam scores of the video-based online classes were high, suggesting the possibility that online classes could be more effective than offline classes if well organized and managed in the future.

A Study on the Effectiveness the Blended e-Learning on Teaching and Learning of the Engineering Mathematics (블렌디드 이러닝이 공학수학 교수·학습에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out how Blended e-Learning affected the teaching and learning of engineering mathematics for engineering students. It has researched the application condition of Blended e-Learning and the students' attitude in the offline classes of students. The subject were 42 students of Junior in the Department of Mechanic Engineering in M-University participated in the study. The lecturer taught the class for the students by fact-to-face teaching at the offline. It was recorded all processes during the class, and the video was loaded at the Learning Management System(LMS). The students studied online by themselves. This study investigated the attitude of students at the offline and the Utilization of Online Data by learners through the mixed class for one semester. The results were as follows. First, Blended e-Learning applied engineering mathematics affected positively for the self-regulated and individualized learning to the students. Second, Blended e-Learning has shown a positive impact on the teaching and learning of engineering mathematics. Finally, it also had a positive effect on the class satisfaction level of students.

  • We propose how to configure the AI education system based on the purpose of hybrid learning and the teaching-learning principle. Based on the four components of hybrid learning, we have designed the system conceptual diagram and DB configuration diagram for on-line and offline learning environments for effective AI education. The proposed AI education system model in this paper is expected to be a foundation for maximizing the effectiveness of AI education according to the level and needs of learners and building a more effective learner-centered learning environment in cultivating computational thinking in AI education.

  • In this study, we analyzed the application of flipped learning in the untact online classes, focusing on thr social and engineering subjects of universities. Due to the unprecedented situation of COVID-19, the professors and learners were unable to conduct the face-to-faceclasses, and the existing flipped learning classes were analyzed separately from the social and engineering subjects. In particular, the results of this study will provide the basic data on the direction of post-corona-era university classes in that it can increase the effectiveness of flipped learning if it is linked to the flexibility of the university's academic system such as intensive course.
