An Ad-Hoc Network Routing Scheme based on Mechanism Design Approach (메커니즘 디자인 접근방식에 기반을 둔 애드혹 네트워크 라우팅 기법)

  • In this paper, a new routing protocol is proposed to manage selfish nodes which make a strategic choice to maximize only their own profits. To provide incentives to nodes on the path, VCG mechanism is introduced. Therefore, based on the collaborative actions among nodes, the entire network performance can be improved. With a simulation study, the proposed scheme can approximate an optimized solution while ensuring a well-balanced network performance under widely diverse network environments.

A Study on the Effectiveness of the Appropriability Mechanism of IT Companies (IT 기업의 전유 메커니즘 효과성에 관한 연구)

  • As the technology advances and convergence progresses, companies are increasingly interested in the appropriability mechanism. Therefore in this study tried to understand the effectiveness of the appropriability mechanism of domestic IT companies. To this end, 7 appropriability mechanisms were finally derived and empirically analyzed from a review of previous studies and experts. As a result of the analysis, the importance of lead time advantage, patent, secrecy, complementary sales and service, design registered, complementary manufacturing, and learning curve effect was shown in the order of SW companies. HW companies, the importance of patent, secrecy, lead time advantage, design registered, complementary sales and service, learning curve effect, and complementary manufacturing were shown in the order of importance. Also patent, secrecy, and lead time advantage was selected as important factors. The results of in this study are expected to be used as useful guidelines on establishing an appropriability mechanism strategy in companies.

  • If researching popular culture is understanding a mechanism to make us the general public, then researching, design is discovering and developing a mechanism to qualitatively improve the life of the general public's life. Since this means that the relation of popular culture and design is correlated among social, cultural and historical ties, but this study isolated popular culture and design as a separate variable, and examined and analyzed cultural factors such as the constantly changing objective, role, contents and formativeness(Gestaltung) of design through already researched various(6) criteria of the concept of popular culture. Thus, this study strives to present the orientation of design with culture by including cultural thinking starting from the stage of design, design planning.

  • The purpose of this study is to implement various movements of multiple objects using a small number of power devices in producing a kinetic design, achieving an effect similar to a work comprised of multiple objects controlled using multiple power devices. While it is more typical to control various objects using multiple power devices, the use of multiple devices leads to higher costs and heavier overall weight. In addition, more power is required to operate the multiple power devices. This study applied a mechanism that allows multiple objects to perform various movements using a small number of power devices. The mechanism significantly reduces overall weight and power consumption. In addition, various movements could be expressed by increasing the rows and columns of objects through the use of the camshaft structure that changed the position and shape of the cam and the use of bevel gears. The significance of this study lies in presenting a new method of controlling multiple objects for designers involved in kinetic design.

  • As the gaming industry grows, the need to understand and study on game Addiction and overindulgence have also grown. For this object, in this study, the author first studied how game elements and game mechanisms were categorized by using previous studies. As a result, game elements are divided into three elements that compose visual, competitive, and probability elements. And the game mechanisms that establish three elements were grouped into subcategories. Risk of competitive and visual element that effect on overindulgence is depended on what mechanism has used. But, in the probability element, Gambling mechanism must be viewed in terms of addiction, not overindulgence.

  • Different from the traditional client-server model, it is possible for participants in a cooperative distributed system to get quality services regardless of the number of participants in the system since they voluntarily pool or share their resources in order to achieve their common goal. However, some selfish participants try to avoid providing their resources while still enjoying the benefits offered by the system, which is termed free-riding. The results of free-riding in cooperative distributed systems lead to system collapse because the system capacity (per participant) decreases as the number of free-riders increases, widely known as the tragedy of commons. As a consequence, designing an efficient incentive mechanism to prevent free-riding is mandatory for a successful cooperative distributed system. Because of the importance of incentive mechanisms in cooperative distributed system, a myriad of incentives mechanisms have been proposed without a standard for performance evaluation. This paper draws general incentive design considerations which can be used as performance metrics through an extensive survey on this literature, providing future researchers with guidelines for the effective incentive design in cooperative distributed systems.

  • 본 연구는 소셜로봇 디자인 연구의 흐름 중 하나인 로봇의 외형에 관하여 시선 추적을 활용하고자 한다. 소셜로봇의 몸 전체, 얼굴, 눈, 입술 등의 관심 영역으로부터 측정된 사용자의 시선 추적 지표와 디자인평가 설문을 통하여 파악된 사용자의 태도를 연결하여 소셜로봇의 디자인에 연구 모형을 구성하였다. 구체적으로 로봇에 대한 사용자의 태도를 형성하는 메커니즘을 발견하여 로봇 디자인 시 참고할 수 있는 구체적인 인사이트를 발굴하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서 사용된 시선 추적 지표는 고정된 시간(Fixation), 첫 응시 시간(First Visit), 전체 머문 시간(Total Viewed), 그리고 재방문 횟수(Revisits)이며, 관심 영역인 AOI(Areas of Interests)는 소셜로봇의 얼굴, 눈, 입술, 그리고 몸체로 설계하였다. 그리고 디자인평가 설문을 통하여 소셜로봇의 감정 표현, 인간다움, 얼굴 두각성 등의 소비자 신념을 수집하였고, 종속변수로 로봇에 대한 태도로 설정하였다.

Resolving the Runtime Class Reference Problem of the Type Object Design Pattern by Type Object Class (Type Object Class에 의한 Type Object 디자인 패턴의 런타임 클래스 참조문제의 해결)

  • The Type Object Design Pattern is proposed to provide a solution on the situation in the case that one class has too many subclasses or the number of subclasses are undefined. Although this pattern has many advantages in terms of applicability and dynamic object behavior, it has a weak point in runtime pattern operation that it has to build and maintain a class reference mechanism in runtime to reference the class (de facto 'object') of instances. To solve that problem, this paper addresses the solution of the runtime class reference problem of Type Object Pattern. it defines a new class of Type Object Class (TOC) from Type Class and Object Class in Type Object pattern and presents the methods of creating, compiling, and memory-loading the TOC. It depends on built-in class reference mechanism of object-oriented programming language, and is not necessary to fit with the additional mechanism. Consequently, we need not to set up the additional class reference mechanism and system performance is enhanced due to it.

  • In product design, many designers incorporate psychological aspects to express the "fun" factor. If so, is it possible to apply the fun inducing mechanism utilized in psychology to product design and are there any problems in the application\ulcorner Psychology defines the sense of fun as the result of relief to a situation that causes a mental accumulation through the discovery of a due. The psychological extraction of fun inducing mechanism tends to lean too much to the cognitive aspect. Therefore, when dealing with product design, psychology's particular disposition is inadequate in explaining the important perceptive factor of fun. This study hypothesizes that perceptive aspect of should be induced along with the cognitive aspect in order to rationalize fun in product design. In order to understand the perception of fun, this study will introduce the amusement aspect within Kitsch products. Methods of developing a humorous form will be studied and these methods will be applicable to perceptive aspects. This paper hypothesizes that through the theoretical basis of internal characteristic of cognitive factors and external characteristic of perceptive factors, the mechanism of fun can be determined.etermined.
