  • In this paper, the characteristics and structural meaning of the Palyupsimryeon mandala, which represent the high spiritual world among Korean traditional cultural relics, are analyzed and visualized. Various studies on foreign mandalas are being introduced, but there is a lack of systematic analysis of the meaning of existing Korean mandalas. In this paper, we visualize the seeds of the Palyupsimryeon mandala in Korea by matching them with the image of the mandala, which is based on the shape of the mandala. Through this process, it shows that Korea's unique seed mandala has a form of mandala that combines the existing the Diamond World Mandala and the Matrix Mandala. Applications include Mandara's characterization, digital storytelling, and games.

  • When most middle-aged women live in a time when they have to take responsibility for their lives, they feel lonely when they realize that their experience of not expressing their feelings properly has ended up being left alone due to their own existence and loss. As the first step in conscious awareness of unconsciousness of middle-aged women through analytical psychology, we performed "Mandara" and "Nanhwa Mandara," which meet me inside. The intermediate stage can be divided into transition and work phase. The working phase, develops one's own advantages and unique strengths that meet the inner world of promoting and acting values, correctly looks at reality, corrects emotion perception and balance, and is self-contained, seed mandala, associative mandala. They performed the strong points of mandala, the free mandala, and the Western mandala. The results of the study showed that mandala art therapy was found in middle-aged women. First, Mandarin art therapy experience affects the physical, psychological and human relations aspects of middle-aged women. Second, middle-aged women's experience of individualization through mandala art therapy shows psychological reversals and affects positive thinking and self-effectiveness. This study was suitable for qualitative research that approached the essence through practical understanding and direct exploration of research participants, and it is meaningful to suggest that it is necessary to develop an art therapy program through various mediums considering the lack of art therapy research in middle-aged women and problems experienced by the physician.

The Diamond World Mandala has a very high value as cultural archetype due to have better specific meaning and aesthetic quality than other mandalas. Most researches of Buddhist cultural contents have focused on cultural assets restoration and abstract discussion on contents industrialization until now. However researches on contents directly delivering Buddhism scriptures' meanings are insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze concept of mandala and symbolical meaning of appeared elements in mandala rather than theoretical development appropriateness of mandalas' contents, then implement a prototype of a mandala animation. The animation is made of intangible culture such as an intellectual legacy of mankind, and its applications are as follows; education service for Buddhist doctrines, and cultural services through easy accessibility of Buddhist culture, etc.

This researcher made Mandala figures as an intermediary between consciousness and unconsciousness, and then took Mandala figures a research starting point. Until now, Mandala has been used therapy tool for emotional stability. But, this researcher tried Mandala coloring to develope cognitive and emotional abilities for early childhood. This paper is a result of experiment to recognize geometric and spacial conceptions for early childhood.

The subjects were 127 students from a nursing university in South Chungcheong Province. The data were collected from October 16 to November 13, 2020 and analyzed using χ2 test, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffé test with SPSS ver.25.0. Mandala analysis method and evaluation criteria of Mandala referred to the Fincher(1991), Kellogg(1977), and Jeong Yeo-ju(2001), and a total of three people discussed the adequacy and clarity of the analysis criteria composition system. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. As a result of the study, there were significant differences between the thinking type in the case of overwhelming color, the instinct type in the case of light and dark, and the thinking type and emotion type in the case of the Great mandala. Through the results of this study, it is necessary to understand one's personality type in the nursing education process from the freshman year, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide a process that can be supplemented.

  • The importance of cultural contents industry is steadily growing owing to the Korean wave etc. and Buddhist cultural contents is a part of the cultural contents. However, the development of Buddhist cultural contents in many ways has left much to be desired. That is because, it is difficult for the public, who is not Buddhist scholar, to understand and take interest in conventional contents on Buddhist books themselves which are digitalized. Also, most contents researches are discussed on the necessity of contents development and just stay in these subjects, but it is insufficient to study a semantic analysis and visualizing contents on Buddhist books. So, in this paper, we analyse mandala's twinning rite in the Buddhist books and implement visual contents on the rite. The mandala is using toohadeokbul in a special way as the abhisinca rite. We analyse concept of the toohadeokbul and implement its visual contents which visualize ideological logic of Buddhism. The implemented contents are able to provide the public with Buddhist cultural experience of the yard. Additional, by trying to visualize descriptive expressions of Buddhist books, this paper could be a precedent for developing visual contents of unlimited data comprised in Buddhist books.

  • This study is a result of experiment to recognize geometric and spacial conceptions for early childhood. This researcher had built up Mandala figures which was an intermediary between consciousness and unconsciousness, and then have studied about early childhood's geometric and spatial concepts by using Mandala figures. In this paper, authors have studied fractal art activities of early childhood as a follow-up study, since the structure of fractal art is similar to Mandala. As a result, three years old young children have significant correlation in four areas(figure perception, visual discrimination, position-in space perception and visual memory), but five years old young children have significant in three areas(figure perception, position-in space perception and visual memory). For five years old group, there is some difference between boys and girls, also they had described for their art activities like real models.

  • This study is on the consideration of the scope of application of art therapy and fractal through the review of literature at home and abroad. The complex system is the opposite of the Euclidean system, a concept suitable for understanding the contemporaries with ambiguous boundaries and decentralized phenomena. The self-similarity and inventiveness of fractal, the geometry of nature, is used as fractal art in art as well as tree trunk, cloud and plant, especially in art therapy, fractal is considered to be available in the field of mandala and neuroscience. From brain-based research to mandala, exposure to natural patterns, clinical diagnosis through fractal analysis and software development, fractal has potential elements that can be developed in art therapy. Fractal, which is easy to link with computers due to its nature, is a necessary study at this point when non-face-to-face contact with the Corona virus is recommended. Currently, research on fractal art therapy is insufficient in Korea. Therefore, this research is intended to present as a basis for scientific and objective diagnostic tools and treatment at clinical sites using art therapy using fractal.

  • This study was attempted to identify the media preferences and the reasons of cancer patients. The data collection was conducted on 76 people. and they are 6 men, 70 women with 38 breast cancer patients, and 38 patients with other cancers. For measuring tools, self-written questionnaires and Mandala paintings were used for single-time art therapy. The data analysis compared the results of technical statistics, independence verification and chi verification using the SPSS WIN ver.25.0 with the Mandala painting. There were no significant differences in media preference by age and duration of the disease, and there were significant differences in media preference by disease. In the Mandala painting, the characteristics of the medium and the factors of specific disease showed that there were reasons and effects of preference media choice. This study is meaningful in that it concentrated on the art therapy access and support in terms of the cancer outpatients, which have been concentrated on inpatients so that they shed light to the support and intervention needed by the outpatients, and can be used as basic data for the development of art therapy programs to help stabilize the mind of cancer patients in the future.
