Music Recommendation System in Public Space, DJ Robot, based on Context-awareness and Musical Properties (상황인식 및 음원 속성에 따른 공간 설치형 음악 추천 시스템, DJ로봇)

  • The study of the development of DJ robots is to meet the demands of the music services which are changing very rapidly in the digital and network era. Existing studies, as a whole, develop music services on the premise of personalized environment and equipment, but the DJ robot is on the premise of the open space shared by the public. DJ robot gives priority to traditional space and music. Recently as the hospitality and demand for cultural contents of South Korea expand to worldwide, industrial use of the contents based on traditional or our unique characteristics is getting more and more. Meanwhile, the DJ robot is composed of a combination of two modules. One is to detect changes in the external environment and the other is to set the properties of the music by psychology, emotional engineering, etc. DJ robot detect the footprint of the temperature, humidity, illumination, wind, noise and other environmental factors measured, and will ensure the objectivity of the music source by repeated experiments and verification with human sensibility ergonomics based on Hevner Adjective Circle. DJ robot will change the soundscape of the traditional space being more beautiful and make the revival and prosperity of traditional music with the use of traditional music through BGM.

Development of User Music Recognition System For Online Music Management Service (온라인 음악 관리 서비스를 위한 사용자 음원 인식 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, recognizing user resource for personalized service has been needed in digital content service fields. Especially, to analyze user taste, recommend music and service music related information need recognition of user music file in case of online music service. Music related information service is offered through recognizing user music based on tag information. Recognition error has grown by weak points like changing and removing of tag information. Techniques of content based user music recognition with music signal itself are researched for solving upper problems. In this paper, we propose user music recognition on the internet by extracted feature from music signal. Features are extracted after suitable preprocessing for structure of content based user music recognition. Recognizing on music server consist of feature form are progressed with extracted feature. Through this, user music can be recognized independently of tag data. 600 music was collected and converted to each 5 music qualities for proving of proposed recognition. Converted 3000 experiment music on this method is used for recognition experiment on music server including 300,000 music. Average of recognition ratio was 85%. Weak points of tag based music recognition were overcome through proposed content based music recognition. Recognition performance of proposed method show a possibility that can be adapt to online music service in practice.

  • Historically, internet is the fastest growing media together with the ICT development and the key of the development is contents. Digital contents indicate information which covers voice, DB, game, publications and music etc. and the areas have been creating new technology business opportunities. The value chain of digital contents consists of production, collection, processing, services, connection and navigation and is expected to be reorganized around business players of production and distribution areas. This paper presents on those changes occurring in business environment and examples of business models, and further provides industries and academias with technology commercialization strategies.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the current situation and background of the Russian consumer music market, where digital music sources are making great strides in the noted recent years. In addition, music storage technology, media and change are considered together in this report. Moreover, Russia is the 12th largest music market in the world. The Russian music industry is following the recent trend of the global music industry, where the digital music market is growing rapidly on many different levels. The explosive growth of the digital sound sources in Russia's music industry is attributed to the explosive increase in available consumer downloads, streaming sound source service, and the increase in the number of digital sound sources using mobile technologies due to the development of the Internet. In particular, the sales of the available and accessible streaming sound sources are expected to grow explosively by the year 2020, which is expected to account for more than 85% of total digital music sales. In other words, the spread of smartphones and the resulting changes in the lifestyle of the Russians have created these changes for the global consumer of music. In other words, the time has come for anyone to easily access music and listen to music without a separate audio or digital player. And the fact that the Russian government's strong policy on the eradication of illegal copying of music is becoming an effective deterrent, as is also the factor that led to the increase of the share of the digital sound source to increase sales in Russia. Today, the Russian music industry is leading this change through the age and process of simply adapting to the digital age. Music is the most important element of cultural assets, and it is the beneficial content, which drives the overall growth of the digital economy. In addition, if the following five improvements(First, strengthen the consciousness of the Russian people about copyright protection; Second, utilizing the Big Data Internet resources in the digital music industry; Third, to improve the monopoly situation of digital music distributors; Fourth, distribution of fair music revenues; and Fifth, revitalization of a re-investment in the current Russian music industry) are effective and productive, Russia's role and position in the world music market is likely to expand.

  • 인터넷 포털 대전쟁이 시작됐다. 한국 통신시장을 사실상 양분하고 있는 KT와 SK텔레콤이 인터넷 포털 사업에 포문을 열고 시장재편을 위한 움직임을 본격화하면서다. KTH의‘파란’이 최근 공식 오픈하면서 포털 시장에 파란을 예고하고 있고, 미니홈피로 돌풍을 일으킨 싸이월드를 합병한 SK커뮤니케이션즈의 네이트닷컴은 업계 선두를 넘보고 있다. 여기에 최근 한발 물러서긴 했으나 영화.음악.게임 콘텐츠에서 막강한 지배력을 갖춘 CJ까지 가세해 벤처 텃밭이었던 포털 시장에 대기업을 등에 업은 공룡 등장을 알렸다. 하지만 터줏대감인 NHN.다음.야후코리아 등 전문 포털업체들도 쉽게 물러서지 않을 태세다. 이들 업체들은 검색, 커뮤니티, 메일 등 다양한 신규 서비스를 경쟁적으로 선보이며 전면전을 준비하고 있다. 이에 따라 하반기 포털 시장은 기존 인터넷 전문 포털들과 시장지배력을 갖춘 대기업 포털간의 피할 수 없는 진검승부가 예고되고 있다. 하반기 혈전이 예고되는 공룡기업과 벤처의 싸움이‘골리앗과 다윗’싸움이 될지,‘ 고래싸움에 새우등 터지는’격이 될지 주목된다.

  • The development of digital technology and the Internet has brought about a great change in the content industry. In order to keep pace with these changes, the copyright law has undergone several revisions, and the concept of "digital sound transmission" was introduced in the 2006 revision. However, in the current law, digital audio transmission is problematic in that the criteria for distinguishing between broadcasting and transmission is abstract and unclear. This ambiguity makes it difficult to judge the legal status of new music webcasting service such as "Free Litsen". Although these services are positioned as digital audion transmission, they have created a new concept of pseudo transmission because of its similarity to the audio transmission in its convenience and utility. These problems stem from the imbalance of between the development of technology and the legal system, so the change of the legal system is inevitable. Thus, this study discusses US copyright law and related cases, and then suggests solutions for pseudo transmission problems. This study suggests legislative criteria for pseudo transmission problems and legislative measures that can reduce the actual damage to the music market.

Communication overhead management techniques based on frequency of convergence contents using the P2P environment (P2P 환경에서 융복합 컨텐츠 사용 빈도수에 따른 통신 오버헤드 관리 기법)

  • The P2P technology is becoming a technology for receiving a service, such as the latest YouTube and Facebook. P2P technology can be easily downloaded to a large amount of multimedia content over a distributed environment. However, pictures, music, a large amount of multimedia content such as videos each user is unable to manage the content management operating smoothly because, Song communication processing overhead caused when the reception is likely to remain the problem. In this paper, we propose a convergence content management technique that provides a low communication overhead of the frequency of use of the convergence content when trying to provide a large amount of convergence content to users in a distributed environment. Our method can be used to select the appropriate frequency is high among the shared content on the P2P multimedia environments that are distributed across a frequency of use of the convergence content and provides the service. Experimental evaluation proposed method, the convergence content browsing speed than conventional techniques improved communication about 13.3% and reduced overhead to about 9.5%.

Auto Frame Extraction Method for Video Cartooning System (동영상 카투닝 시스템을 위한 자동 프레임 추출 기법)

  • While the broadband multimedia technologies have been developing, the commercial market of digital contents has also been widely spreading. Most of all, digital cartoon market like internet cartoon has been rapidly large so video cartooning continuously has been researched because of lack and variety of cartoon. Until now, video cartooning system has been focused in non-photorealistic rendering and word balloon. But the meaningful frame extraction must take priority for cartooning system when applying in service. In this paper, we propose new automatic frame extraction method for video cartooning system. At frist, we separate video and audio from movie and extract features parameter like MFCC and ZCR from audio data. Audio signal is classified to speech, music and speech+music comparing with already trained audio data using GMM distributor. So we can set speech area. In the video case, we extract frame using general scene change detection method like histogram method and extract meaningful frames in the cartoon using face detection among the already extracted frames. After that, first of all existent face within speech area image transition frame extract automatically. Suitable frame about movie cartooning automatically extract that extraction image transition frame at continuable period of time domain.

The Improved UCI Identifier Syntax for Convergence Digital Contents (융합 디지털콘텐츠에 적합한 UCI 식별자 구문구조 개선)

  • The proposed new UCI syntax is compatible with the existing identifier and defines fixed length in such cases as printable ID, bar code and QR code which may entail better usage of identifier itself. For the compatibility, the identifiable metadata "key" is used for the existing UCI identifier and "UCI" element of metadata is defined for the new UCI identifier. The new UCI identifier plays roles of the resolution service and representation, and the old UCI identifier plays a role of internal DB management. Also, the object code has two types, meaningless and meaningful. The meaningful object code type can be used according the content classification standards in various field as comics, games, advertisement etc. The standardization activities can be supported by the root agency of UCI.

A Content-based Audio Retrieval System Supporting Efficient Expansion of Audio Database (음원 데이터베이스의 효율적 확장을 지원하는 내용 기반 음원 검색 시스템)

  • For content-based audio retrieval which is one of main functions in audio service, the techniques for extracting fingerprints from the audio source, storing and indexing them in a database are widely used. However, if the fingerprints of new audio sources are continually inserted into the database, there is a problem that space efficiency as well as audio retrieval performance are gradually deteriorated. Therefore, there is a need for techniques to support efficient expansion of audio database without periodic reorganization of the database that would increase the system operation cost. In this paper, we design a content-based audio retrieval system that solves this problem by using MapReduce and NoSQL database in a cluster computing environment based on the Shazam's fingerprinting algorithm, and evaluate its performance through a detailed set of experiments using real world audio data.
