Application and Evaluation of the Bibliotherapy for University Students (대학생을 위한 독서치료의 적용과 평가)

  • The aim of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of bibliotherapy program for university students. Bibliotherapy program was designed and apply to crash course of 'Library Science' at Graduate School of Library, Archive & Information Studies in Pusan National University for fall semester 2006. A evaluation way of bibliotherapy program was a self-evaluation method for 5 cases of 39 university students participated in bibliotherapy program with examining of self-identity. The results have two obtains. 1) This program has a effectiveness in change of inner world. 2) Bibliotherapy program has a effectiveness in establishing ego-identity of university students.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss about problems exposed as operating of bibliotherapy program and to find way to vitalize bibliotherapy as a correctional education for juvenile delinquents. The institutionalized youths of juvenile correctional school at P city which have been chosen as the sample representatives for planning, implementing, accessing and analyzing this program. The analysed results of the program show that points are to be considered: (1) Priority should be given to self-motivated youths when selecting participants. (2) Setting up as a regular program at juvenile correctional school. (3) To be necessary active participation, individual program should be provided in abreast of group program. (4) Creating adequate environment in other to ensure continuous self-healing for bibliotherapy (5) To create of professional bibliotherapy programs specialized for juvenile delinquents (6) Bases for Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and The National Central Library, and between local juvenile corrective institutions and local libraries (7) Ultimately, To found a library at juvenile correctional schools.

  • The study is intended to plan and apply developmental bibliotherapy program to housewives. Two bibliotherapy programs were proceeded in Pusan Namgu Public Library. One was to care for wounded emotions through general course of bibliotherapy. The other was to redefine participants' life through their languages in the advanced course of bibliotherapy program. The study evaluate on result of the bibliotherapy program for housewives.

  • In Korea, only a small study based on the bibliotherapy program for responsibility promotion of at risk or alienated youth has been performed. The purpose of this proposed study is to further examine the challenges and effects of a group bibliotherapy program on alienated youth to determine the degree of success in terms of "responsibility" and/or positive results. The current research program included a relatively small sample size of 11 young people (2 boys, 9 girls) in the Suwon Youth Center from November to December, 2015. The alienated youth program consisted of 8 sessions in the correct activity center with or having levels of insight, application, and verification measured using the Lee Sang Ro et al. (1989), Developmental Responsibility Examination (Scale of Responsibility). As a result, this study will confirm that the program to raise the level of alienated youth responsibility produces positive effects. These results will provide additional theoretical rationale and implications capable for applying "responsibility" education for alienated youth to the overall field encompassing youth education. Based on this, it will be necessary to extend various identified methods in depth to achieve this overall goal.

A Study on the Bibliotherapy Program's Influence on the Improvement of a Junior High School Student's Career Maturity Degree (독서치료 프로그램이 중학생의 진로성숙도 향상에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study is to see how the bibliotherapy program has an effect on the improvement of a junior high school student's career maturity degree, and how it can be applied to students for developmental and collective approach. In this experiment, bibliotherapy program was progressed 11 times for 60 minutes to twenty second grade students of W junior high school in Kyeonggi-Do. There are two groups: one is the control group, and the other experiment group. In order to verify the effect of a bibliotherapy program a correspondence specimen t-test analysis was used. The degree of youth's course maturity has been checked to see if there is any difference between the preliminary inspection and the post inspection for both the experiment group and the control group. Moreover, ANCOVA was applied in order to grasp if there is any difference between the experiment group and the control group to the post mark.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a new bibliotherapy program on the happiness index of University students. The results were as follows: Firstly, we can raise the happiness index through the new bibliotherapy program. More specifically, we can reduce negative emotions to a great extent, and raising the level of satisfaction with life is effective. But increasing positive emotions is not easy. Secondly, Effect of bibliotherapy program on the factors of Happiness is different by various situations. Thirdly, reaction of participants of bibliotherapy program to religeous and spiritual media is different.

  • This study was conducted to contribute to the improvement of bibliotherapy programs in the LIS field by analyzing 76 bibliotherapy program researches of 6 different major fields published in journals during 2001 to 2014. The programs were analyzed in terms of research trends, major areas, subjects and detail subjects. According to the study, the proportion of graduate students was higher than that of professors and instructors in terms of researchers' status in LIS and psychology. Also, programs for elementary students were found to be frequently carried out in schools and libraries by all fields. As for the topics of the programs, self-esteem was the most frequent topic and others such as depression, broken families, sociality, academic achievement and interpersonal relationships were also being dealt with. Detail subjects, measurement tools and application data have been proposed according to different research subjects.

  • This paper applies bibliotherapy in order to restore the self-esteem of a middle-aged man in particular. The Bible and six self-help books are used for its therapy. In conclusion, the middle-aged male clients have restored their self-esteem and improve their sense of human dignity in the counseling program which used the Bible and self-help literatures. Bibliotherapy has also proven itself as an important method of psychotherapy which educates the clients to resolve their psychological issues.

  • Public libraries and the Library & Information Sciences departments at Korean universities are increasingly interested in the application of a variety of bibliotherapy methods. Bibliotherapy serves as a therapy to understand a client and participants basic material sources and the effects of that particular treatment (necessary for program verification of psychological tools utilized). Its design is based both on literature selection and employed activities tools. Currently, bibliotherapy has been used mainly as a method to understand and diagnose a client and participants using simple and uniform questions. The development of appropriate and, possibly, additional assessment tools and report forms required for bibliotherapy evaluations in this study will be applied to actual case scenarios to determine the validity of this program and/or tools.

힐링스토리 프로그램 개발과 적용에 관한 연구

  • 이 연구는 힐링스토리프로그램의 기초를 구축하고 그 효과를 입증하기 위하여 '친구'의 주제 아래 상황별 힐링스토리를 창작하고, 이것을 적용한 '우리, 친구하자' 독서프로그램을 개발하여 친구관계의 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과, 힐링스토리 독서팀이 독서팀보다 대인관계능력이 전체적으로 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서는 일반학생을 대상으로 다양한 상황의 힐링스토리를 창작하여 프로그램에 접목시켰으며 상황을 독서치료의 개념보다는 독서의 큰 범주로 판단하여 독서교육으로 적용하였다.
