The Center for Nanotechnology in Society at Arizona State University (CNS-ASU) is a Nano-scale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) funded by the US National Science Foundation (NSF). It implements an agenda of "real-time technology assessment" (RTTA) in pursuit of a strategic vision of the "anticipatory governance" of nanotechnologies. To achieve this vision, CNS-ASU unifies research programs not only across several universities but also across three critical, component activities: foresight (of plausible future scenarios), integration (of social science and humanities research with nano-scale science and engineering), and engagement (of publics in deliberations). CNS-ASU also performs educational and training activities as well as public outreach and informal science education. This paper elaborates the Center's strategic vision of anticipatory governance and its component activities, especially in the context of extending the concerns of societal dimensions research beyond the traditional risk paradigm.

In recent years, an understanding and concern about the Photo Realistic CG increased while the CG industry grew. The overall understanding of a system, an output and algorithm, and etc. are needed in order to implement the Photo Realistic CG. Moreover, for the realistic output on CG, the texture task that it is logical the various environment condition according to the physical environment and time, and etc.s has to show. For carrying out the Photo Realistic CG texture task, the extensity of a texture, the physical properties, a material, and an environment, the various access and the logical analysis are needed. Analyzed data reaches the direct affect to the final product for expressing. The realistic ancient history site, and the cultural inheritance and industrial product will be implemented with the ground of the research of the upper part in the imaginary realistic world.

A college campus tour is a great opportunity to promote the school environment, facilities and history to visitors or prospective students. Along with the population of smart phones and the advancement of information and communication technologies, many universities have recently provided mobile applications for campus tour, and some are starting to utilize augmented reality technology. However, most of the existing campus tour augmented reality systems tended to present a description-oriented campus tour guide. Their main focus is simply to provide information about the campus's main buildings or symbols. This study focuses on self-guided tours of the campus through games making new students and visitors to get familiar with the campus in a more natural and intuitive way. In this paper we present the design and development of a location-based mobile augmented reality treasure hunt game to enhance the user experience.

The current study explored how robot's persuasive intent and its' physical distance affect consumers' evaluaton on the robot and the product that the robot advertises. This study administered a 2 (level of pursasion intent: low vs. high) × 2 (physical distance: normal vs. close) between-subjects factorial design experiment. The findings revealed that consumers evaluated the robot' expertise and trustworthiness more negatively and reported lower intentions to buy the produce when they perceived robot's persasive intent saliently high. Consumers were also found to show more negative attitude toward the robot and lower intentions to buy the produce when the robot approached to their personal space more closely. The theoretical and practical implications about human-robot interaction in marketing context were discussed.

In this study, in order to develop a manual for the AI convergence education competency strengthening project, project personnel were interviewed and an overall analysis of the business process was made. As a result of analysis, the manual includes methods to solve problems currently being raised in the field such as recruitment of graduate students, education program management, academic registration management, and budget management. In order to increase the continuity and efficiency of the project, it is necessary to build an administrative management site that provides information on the overall project, to strengthen publicity for general teachers about AI convergence education, and meet the educational needs and level of enrolled students.

우리나라는 2009년 OECD DAC 회원국으로 가입하면서 6.25전쟁직후 세계 최빈국으로써 원조를 받는 국가에서 60년만에 국제사회에 원조를 제공하는 공여국으로 성장한 국제사회의 유일무이한 사례이다. 우리 나라의 ODA(Official Development Assistance)는 ICT, 교육 분야 등과 같이 우리나라가 세계적으로 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 분야를 특성화하여 제공하고 있다. 모로코는 2012년까지 9,000여개의 모로코 초중등학교에 ICT를 보급한다는 계획과 ICT 산업 육성을 국가 주요 정책으로 추진하고 있는 있어 금번 프로젝트는 모로코 교사의 ICT 역량 강화를 지원하기 위하여 한국의 ICT 교육시스템을 모로코 초중등 교사에게 제공하는 것이다. 본 프로젝트는 교육쎈터 리모델링, ICT 기자재설치, 교사 커리큘럼 개발, 홈페이지 개발, 정책보고서 발간, 모로코 교사 초청 연수로 구분되어 있으며, 2009년 1월에 시작되어 2010년 11월에 완료된다. 본 프로젝트를 통해 모로코 초중등 교사 23만명중 년간 1,000명을 교육하고, 교육을 받은 교사는 소속지역에서 ICT Master Teacher 역할을 담당하게 된다. 본 프로젝트를 통하여 우리나라는 모로코 교육 선진화에 기여하며, 한국 ICT 기자재를 활용함으로써 한국산 H/W, SW 및 교육컨텐츠의 우수성을 모로코와 인근 국가에 홍보하고, 이를 통해 국내 기업의 북아프리카 진출을 간접 지원하였다. 또한, 본 프로젝트를 통하여 모로코를 비롯하여 2000년도부터 년평균 5.3%의 경제성장을 지속하고 있는 아프리카지역에 한국 ICT제품이 진출할 수 있는 방안으로, 국산 e-러닝 개발툴을 영어, 불어와 아랍어 버젼으로 추가 개발하였으며, 모로코 대학과 합작기업을 설립을 추진하고 있다.

문제: 전자의무기록(EMR) 시행 후 의무기록 정리율의 저하와 질적인 측면에서의 충실성과 정확성에 대한 문제점이 제기되었다. 목적: 전자의무기록의 정리율과 충실성 검토를 통하여 문제점을 파악하고 개선점 찾아 의무기록 정리율을 향상시키고 충실성을 높이고자 하였다. 의료기관: 서울시에 소재한 대학병원 의무기록과 질 향상 활동: 전자의무기록의 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 사용자 편의를 위한 EMR 프로그램 수정 및 보완, 진단 수술 관련 작업, 업무개선, 교육, 홍보 등의 활동을 실시하였다. 개선효과: 의무기록 정리율, 전자인증미비, 경과기록 기재일수, 퇴원요약 주진단 적합률, 기록지별 필수항목 기재율, 충실성에서 향상이 이루어졌다.

The purpose of this study is to effectively provide professors in the design field with information services by identifying their information use behaviors. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires after dividing the specialties of 110 professors in the design field into 4 areas. The results were made in terms of purposes of use and the acquisition channels, types of information sources, difficulties of information acquisition and the library use of the institution. Some suggestions were shown as follows: collection of gray literatures such as exhibition data, seminar data, reports and pamphlets, purchase of web databases in design field, information literacy education including the use of domestic and foreign design databases for the professors and the construction of web directories on the library web sites.

In many countries of the world, cultural activities are introduced as a popular means of promoting local economies and identities. In many places of Japan, a traditional cultural activity, "Machtskuri" (meaning "Vilige Making," literally) has been practiced in the past several decades. A small town, Nagahama of Shiga Prefecture, with 50,000 people, started restoring an old castle and historical build, art exibition, traditional fashion festivals, etc. Based on the successful experience from the cultural activities, community leaders of Nagahama made success in creating other projects, such as construction of a baseball stadium, a hotel and a community college. It can be concluded that Nagahama has been successful in creating making the place famious and the people confident.

The aim of this study was to assess the degree of association between individual stress and the amount of smoking among male senior students of a medical college. The questionnaire survey was conducted twice for collecting the data on stress level in terms of BEPSI score, smoking amounts, alcohol intake, and residence type in 1992 and 1993. Among the 223 responders, 39.9% were smokers. In the smokers, the association between stress level and smoking amount was significant after controlling for alcohol intake and residence type (p<0.1). Especially in the group of living without family, the association was more significant (p=0.06). Therefore, it is recommendable that the stress management program is called upon for the student smokers to reduce smoking amount.
