A Study of Influencing Factors for Job Stress in University Administrative Staff (대학 행정 직원의 직무스트레스 및 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this research was to examine that the essence of university administrative staff's job stress and relevant characteristics that could influence their stress at work. For this research, we collected 250 samples of university administrative staffs in Seoul from March to April, 2017 and used 227 ones for final analyses. The results indicated that organizational characteristics (organizational commitment, organizational culture, perceived organizational support) and job characteristics (job satisfaction, job control, emotional labor) tended to be significantly associated to Job stress. These findings suggested that Employee Assistant Program (EAP) should be launched in order to provide integrated services for university staff. Second, diverse psycho-social services, such as consultation, leisure activities, and empowerment, should be provided by utilizing the resources of university. Lastly, the Korean Ministry of Education needs to support for enhancing the staff's work environments.

A Study on the Difference of Career Barriers, Career Attitude Maturity, and Career Competencies based on Gender, Grade, and Fields of Major of Undergraduate students in the age of Convergence (융·복합 시대에 대학생 배경변인별 진로장벽, 진로태도성숙, 진로직업역량 차이분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of career barriers, career attitude maturity, and career competency based on gender, grade, and major fields of university students. 320 students responded the survey and the data were analyzed through MANOVA. There were significant differences in a sub-components of career barriers and career attitude maturity according to gender. Female students were higher in 'lack of self-clarity' and 'interpersonal difficulty' while male students were higher in the 'independency'. Lastly, there were significant differences in sub-components of career competencies according to gender, grades, and fields of majors. Female students were higher in 'career exploration'. Also, sophomore students showed the lowest scores and senior year students showed highest scores in 'career exploration' and 'career performance'. Students in the field of the social science showed highest scores in the 'career design' and 'career performance'. Suggestions and ideas to develop employability of students were discussed.

A Study on Creativity Convergence Competency for Developing Creativity Human Resources (창의융합인재 양성을 위한 일부 대학생의 창의융합역량 수준 분석)

  • This study obtained basic data for developing human resources with creativity convergence competency by surveying and analyzing the level of creativity convergence competency of university students. The study was conducted from October 1, 2019 to November 10, 2019 on university students attending the departments of computer science, pharmaceutical engineering, physical therapy and dental hygiene. The data from 296 students was finally used for this study, and IBM SPSS/Win statics 23.0 programs were used to analyze the data. Students who graduated from Seoul/Gyeonggi High School or those students with high undergraduate satisfaction were found to have high creativity convergence ability, and these results were statistically significant. Further, the group of students who had experience with Campus/Suburban competition, Global Competency training/ International exchange programs or the Capstone Design/Team Based Project showed high creativity convergence competency, and these results were statistically significant. Thus, this study identified the necessity of developing and operating various extra-curricular programs at education institutes in order to enhance students' creativity convergence capability.

Factors affecting on Perceived Medication Administration Competence in Senior Nursing Students (졸업 예정 간호대학생의 주관적 투약수행역량 영향요인)

  • The objective of study was to identify perceived medication administration Competence of senior nursing students. A total of 128 students were recruited. The instruments for this study were self-efficacy for drug dosage calculation, anxiety for drug dosage calculation and perceived medication administration competence. The data were collected from November 2018 to January 2019, analyzed by descriptive analysis, chi-square, t-test, Scheffe test, correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using the SPSS 25.0 program. The main predictors of perceived medication administration competence were identified as confidence in drug dosage calculation (${\beta}=.463$, p<.001), Attitude of participation at clinical practice (${\beta}=.168$, p=.040). These two factors explained about 29% of variance in perceived medication administration competence (F=26.93, p<.001). It can contribute to improve their ability to administrate medication in practice, with the accuracy of prescription, recalculation of prescribed drug dose, and observation of adverse reactions in clinical practice and simulation with collaborative approach.

Analysis of the Type of Policy Instruments on Higher Education Policy in Korea (우리나라 고등교육 정책의 정책수단(policy instrument) 유형 분석)

  • This study examines the types and characteristics of the policy instruments of Korea's higher education policies since the Lee Myung-bak administration. To this end, McDonnell and Elmore (1987)'s types of policy instruments were adopted and the higher education policy tasks announced by the Ministry of Education were classified by sector and type. As a result of the analysis, Korea's higher education policy showed a tendency to gradually shift from 'mandates' to 'inducements' and 'capacity building'. Despite this trend, however, in policy tasks such as university evaluation, the Lee Myung-bak, Park Geun-hye, and Moon Jae-in administrations all maintained policy instruments that combine 'mandates' and 'inducements'. Third, the 'system change' based on a market-oriented mechanism was used only in the Lee Myung-bak administration, and was not adopted in the higher education policies of the Park Geun-hye and Moon Jae-in administrations. In the field of global and industry-university cooperation at universities, it is encouraging that the Lee Myung-bak administration to the Moon Jae-in administration have steadily introduced policy instrument of 'capacity building', but in the fields of specialization and competitiveness enhancement, policies centered on 'mandates' and 'inducements' was using the policy instrument.

  • The opportunity provided for design method and strategy of sustainable campus on the waterfront, is the purpose of this paper. Waterfront campus is an important issue as it seeks to revive the sustainability and to renew the facilities. This paper reviews an assessment of its success for waterfront campus in 10 principles such as waterfront, water and safety, climate & energy, green building and transportation, green labs and recycling, health and food, social economic sustainability, fund, human, smart, also concludes with the establishment of space making for the waterfront campus for future educational facilities on the waterfront; implementation of waterfront campus maserplan; building sustainable campus in adaptation to climate change; creative and resilient cooperation.

Networked Structure and Message Types of Newspaper Advertisements about Universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk provinces in Korea: A Social Network Analysis (사회연결망 분석을 활용한 대학의 신문광고 게재 구조와 메시지 유형: 대구·경북 지역을 중심으로)

  • This study examined the networked structure and message types of newspapers advertisements in which universities have put in Daegu and Gyeongbuk provinces in Korea. Data were collected from July to September in 2020. As a result, universities preferred newspapers located in Daegu and Pohang areas. Next, universities have emphasized their cooperations with industries, basic competency capacities, and specialization programs in the advertising messages. When analyzing the findings in terms of university level, key words related to mid- to long-term development plans often appeared in the four-year schools. On the other hand, two or three-year universities frequently used an appeal that emphasized tangible performances. The findings showed the way in which the direction of university newspaper advertisements have been set in line with the rapidly changing environment.

  • This research examines the sustainable mutual growth of academia and industry regarding human resource cultivation and recruitment of local communities. at the beginning of regularized survival competitions and university innovations according to University Basic Competence Evaluations and etc., This research considers the substantive effect of educational resources of universities on recruitment rates in the pursuit of enhancing university-industry cooperation. Therefore, to identify factors of recruitment rates, we employ a university-wise index based on a quantitative index of educational resources of universities. Regarding study methods, set-up and verification of hypothesis, empirical analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, and correlation analysis are used to identify the correlation between dependent variables and independent variables based on the three sub-indexes of open records at Higher Education including educational environments, educational finances, and research achievements. Implications were derived from multiple regression analysis results regarding education conditions and recruitment rates, educational finances and recruitment rates, and research achievement and recruitment rates. This research can be extended to predict regional university recruitment rates with empirical analysis considering regional characteristics.

  • BSC(Balanced Scorecard)는 재무적 성과지표의 한계를 지양하고 고객관점, 내부 프로세스 관점, 학습과 성장 관점, 재무 관점의 다양한 관점에서 성과측정시스템으로 상용 될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전략의 해석, 전략적 캐스케이딩(cascading), 전략적 자원분배, 전략적 학습도구를 위한 전략관리시스템으로 또한 의사소통도구로서 사용된다. 분 논문에서는 대학내의 학과들이 각각 개별적인 특성이 존재하고 학과의 제한된 자원과 역량하에서의 효율적인 운영과 이에 대한 조직적인 접근방법이 필요하기 때문에 학과조직에 BSC를 적용하는 방안을 모색하였다. 이러한 학과 BSC는 대학 전체 또는 그 상위조직의 BSC를 위한 토대로 이용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 교육에 관련한 다양한 인증 및 평가와 연계할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 논문에서는 최소한의 프로그래밍과 이해하기 용이한 수행규칙, 그리고 유연한 개정을 위하여 비즈니스 규칙(Business Rule)으로 이루어지는 BRMS(Business Rule Management System)로 학과 BSC를 설계할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다.

Effects of Science high school students' Competency through Intensive Research and Education Program in KAIST (과학기술특성화대학(KAIST)을 중심으로한 R&E 집중연구가 과학고등학교 학생에게 미치는 영향)

  • Research and Education(R&E) program has been emphasized for scientifically gifted students since it can improve scientific research abilities and problem solving abilities because it provides scientific research experiences with professional researchers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of R&E program on creative leader competency and science career orientation. For this study, 62 science high school students participated from 78 science high school students participating in an R&E program. Pre and Post surveys of creative leader competency and science career orientation were administered to the students. The results showed that R&E program improved students' creative leader competency in intellectual and affective characteristic. However, there are no differences in science career orientation because science high school students already had high science career orientation. The implications of this study were discussed.
