Optimum Detector Location for Collecting Traffic Information using Microscopic Traffic Simulator for Interrupted Flow (미시 교통류 모형을 이용한 단속류 교통정보 수집용 검지기의 최적 위치 결정)

  • 본 논문에서는 추종 모형을 이용한 미시 교통류 시뮬레이션 모형을 개발하고, 이 모형을 통한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 단속류에서 검지기의 설치 위치에 따른 검지 특성을 알아보고, 교통정보 수집용의 검지기의최적 위치에 대해 평가하였다. 검지기로부터 발생하는 교통량, 점유율, 속도 자료중 링크의 통행시간을 가장 잘 반영하는 것은 점유율에 의한 검지기의최적위치는 정지선으로부터 150∼250m이다. 점유율 다음으로 통행시간을 잘 반영하는 자료는 지점속도로서 점유율보다는 상관관계가 낮지만, 양호한 설명력을 가지는 것으로 보인다. 교통량 자료는 상관관계가 낮으며, 교통량에 의한 위치 선정은 각 모의 실험 결과에서 일관적이지 않아 적절한 설명변수가 아니라고 판단하였다. 모든 경우에서, 정지선이나 링크 최상류에 위치한 검지기로부터의 자료는 통행시간과 독립적이므로 이러한 검지기는 교통정보 수집용을 사용할 수 없으며, 일반적인 검지기의최적 위치는 정상상태의 교통류 뿐만 아니라 대기행렬내에 존재하여 매우 혼잡한 상태를 경험할 수 있는 위치라고 할수 있다.

  • ATM 망을 효율적으로 구축하고 여러 가지 형태의 제어를 통하여 망 자원을 안정적으로 관리하기 위해서는 망의 성능에 대한 다양한 관점에서의 분석이 필수적이며, 그 기본이 되는 것이 ATM 다중화기에 대한 성능 분석이다. ATM 다중화기에 입력되는 트래픽을 분석하는데 있어서 MRP(Markov Renewal Processes) 또는 SMP(Semi-Markov Processes)는 자동 상관계수를 계산하기가 비교적 용이해서 높은 양의 상관관계를 가지는 버스티한 트래픽을 표현하기에 적절한 구조를 가지고 있으며, 입력 트래픽의 머무는 시간이 어떠한 분포이든 표현 가능한 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 ATM 트래픽을 분석하는데 있어서 입력되는 on/off 소스를 MRP로 모형화하고, 이를 도착과정으로 하는 이산시간 MR/D/1B 대기시스템으로 구성하여 ATM 다중화기의 셀 손실확률 등의 성능분석을 제시한다. 또한 본 연구에서 제시한 방법에 대한 타당성 검증을 위하여 시뮬레이션과 비교 검토한다.

  • This paper proposes queueing models for a Web server system which is composed of an infinite-buffer main server and finite-buffer auxiliary server(s). The system is modeled by the level-dependent quasi-birth- death (QBD) process. Utilizing the special structure of the QBD, we convert the infinite level-dependent QBD into a finite level-independent QBD and compute the state probabilities. We then explore the operational characteristics of the proposed web-server models and draw some useful conclusions.

  • We build a queueing model for buffered leaky bucket system. First, we set up system equations and them calculate the steady-state probabilities at an arbitrary time epoch by recursive method. We derive the mean waiting time and the mean number of cells in the input buffer, and evaluate the performance of the buffered leaky bucket system to find the optimal queue capacity and token generation rate that meet the quality of service(QoS).

  • A system is considered which is required to perform tasks that arrive randomly during a fixed mission duration. We develop queueing models to obtain the mission effectiveness and the blocking probabilities. Exact probabilities are computed by using the Finite Fourier Cosine Transform.

  • The BMAP/M/N/0 queueing system operating in Markovian random environment is investigated. The stationary distribution of the system is derived. Loss probability and other performance measures of the system also are calculated. Numerical experiments which show the necessity of taking into account the influence of random environment and correlation in input flow are presented.

  • The linear traffic model(Vertical queueing model) that is adopted widely in traffic flow estimation assumes that all vehicles have the identical motion before joining a queue at the stop-line. Thus, a queue is supposed to form vertically not horizontally. Due to the simplicity of this model, the departure time of the leading vehicle is assumed to coincide with the start of effective green time. Thus, the delay estimates given by the Vertical queueing model is not always realistic. This paper explores a microscopic traffic model(a Kinematic Car-following model at Signalised intersections: a KCS traffic model) based on the one dimensional Kinematic equations in physics. A comparative evaluation in delay and sensitivity of delay difference between the KCS traffic model and the previously known Vertical queueing model is presented. The results show that the delay estimate in the Vertical queueing model is always greater than or equal to the KCS traffic model; however, the sensitivity of delay in the KCS traffic model is greater than the Vertical queueing model.

Dynamic Network Loading Method and Its Application (동적 네트워크 로딩 방법 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This study first explains general features of traffic assignment models and network loading methods, and investigates the relationship between them. Then it introduces a dynamic network loading method, which accounts far time variable additionally. First of all, this study suggests that it is important to consider some requirements for the dynamic network loading, such as causality, FIFO(First-In-First-Out) discipline, the flow propagation, and the flow conservation. The details of dynamic network loafing methods are explained in the form of algorithm, and numerical examples are shown in the test network by adopting deterministic queuing model for a link Performance function.

  • Recently, brisk up the construction of the spatial information, many people highly concern to tile information circulation of GIS. Each system like GIS has a structure of the information circulation to itself. In this paper, we study on the performance evaluation method of tile structure which to circulate tile spatial information based on the internet. To do this, we hypothesize values of content and scale of the geo-spatial information on each internet network and volumes of the information to circulate between internet networks. Then we suggest a method to evaluate the performance of the structure to aid the circulation of spatial information based on queueing model. Henceforth, with the volumes of data stored and circulated information of each GIS, this method can help to design the structure to circulate the GIS information more efficiently.

  • The increasing demand for various mobile telecommunication services calls for more spectrum resource. Considering the scarcity of spectrum resource and the difficulties of development of higher frequency band, the unique way to meet the increasing demand is to maximize the utilization efficiency of the current spectrum resource. Under the circumstances, various spectrum sharing plans have been in recent studies to dissolve the excess spectrum demand. In addition, spectrum efficiency measurement methods become more important to verify the effectiveness of spectrum sharing and estimate the performance of various wireless systems. Our research addresses measurement methods to estimate spectrum utilization efficiency in a rational manner. Based on ITU-R recommendations, various measuring methods for spectrum utilization efficiency are reviewed. Then a queueing based approach is newly presented as alternatives to the current models. By using the proposed model, the spectrum efficiency increment with the adoption of spectrum sharing plans can be estimated more properly.
