Analysis of Disaster Recovery System in Bank Industry (국내 금융권 재해복구시스템의 문제점 분석)

  • DRS (Disaster Recovery System) that was invested on a large-scale becomes obsolete when it is neglected for a certain Period of time. Also the DRS can not be accomplished through the duplicated computer systems. When a disaster happens, the normal operation is possible only if the processes that had been being done before the disaster recover without any loss. Therefore the DRS is not a IT project but needs an analysis of whole business Processes and business continuity plans. This paper analyze the present state of DRS of the domestic bank industry and suggests a remedy.

  • Korean professors and students majoring IS (information systems) were asked "How much knowledge and skills will be required for entry level IS practitioners?" The result shows that there are significant perception gaps between IS academics and IS practitioners and that the perception of IS academics is obsolete. The result implies that the obsolete perception of IS academics is one of the major causes that Korean IS practitioners are experiencing so severe knowledge and skill deficiency.

  • Recently, various construction projects are invested with plenty capital, manpower and resources. The advanced methods of the construction management is introduced to Korea. However, the cases which get involved in excessive cost frequently occur. We can explain it means that the cost management in the entire phases and the risk factors in its works has not been done yet as expected. Thus, it is necessary to unearth risk factors relative to cost management and analyse them for preventing cost-increasing and the success of projects. In this point of view, this study aims to identify the risk factors of the cost management focused on pre-construction stages from the perspective of construction management which is possible to take part in the whole phases and works in cost management. Also, the impact priority and grade of risk factors to cost-increasing are evaluated by using FMEA.

Time Management Status of Small Contractors and Suggestions on Education for Time Management in Colleges (소규모 건설회사의 공정관리 현황과 대학의 공정관리 교육방안)

  • A construction manager tries to complete a construction project within its duration and budget using available resources. Schedule networks such as Bar-chart and CPM(critical path method) are used to finish the project within the duration. A survey shows that small contractors prefer Microsoft Excel to commercial time management softwares to manage construction time in their fields, because the Excel is useful to control cost with schedule and few time management experts works in the small contractors. A college produces talented graduates who are able to manage time of a construction project. But the quality and quantity of college eduction for time management is insufficient. Another survey shows that majors in Architectural engineering of local national universities have the curriculum for time management, and teach mainly the theory of network scheduling and how to make the network schedule. The several majors have classes for the theory and exercise of commercial time management softwares in several majors. It is necessary to educate time management experts able to use Bar-chart and commercial time management softwares for the small contractors.

  • Computer Graphics(CG) are very important in the movie industries. Recently, many domestic CG Companies participate in a movie creation. However, most companies only use commercial tools, and do not concentrate on developing techniques. This is why they use the commercial tools in spite of its lack of functions. In this paper, we explain the importance of developing technical tools to complement the shortage of commercial tools through the previewer for fluid simulation. We present how we design and implement the previewer to specialize it for fluid simulation. Finally, we estimate our previewer's performance and discuss with result.

  • Global efforts continue with the goal of transition to a "carbon neutral (net zero)" society with zero carbon emissions by 2050. For this purpose, the technology of water electrolysis is being developed, which can store electricity generated from renewable energies in large quantities and over a long period of time as hydrogen. Recently, various research and large-scale projects on 'green hydrogen', which has no carbon emissions, are being conducted. In this paper, a comparison of water electrolysis technologies was carried out and, based on data provided by the International Energy Agency (IEA), large-scale water electrolysis demonstration projects were analyzed by classifying them by technology, power supply, country and end user. It is expected that through the analysis of large-scale water electrolysis demonstration projects, research directions and road maps can be provided for the development/implementation of commercial projects in the future.

Evaluation of Organization and Use of Data Model for Structural Experiment Information (구조실험정보를 위한 데이터 모델의 구성 및 사용성 평가)

  • The data model for structural experiment information formally organizes the information involved in the structural experiments before the data repository using the data model is implemented. The data model is particularly required for the data repositories for the large-scale structural experiment information and the general information for various types of experiments, such as the NEEShub Project Warehouse developed by NEES. This paper proposes criteria for evaluating the organization and the use of design model for structural experiment information. The term of AVE(attribute value existence) indicates the ratio of attributes who values exist in objects, and then used for defining the Attribute AVE for the use of an attribute, the Class AVE for a class, the Class Level AVE for a class including its lower-level classes, the Project AVE for a project including all classes at class levels, and the Data Model AVE for a data model including projects. These criteria are applied to the projects in the NEES data model, and it is successively possible to numerically describe the evaluation of the use of classes and attributes in the data model.

  • 본 연구에서는 청주와 그 인근 지역에서 정보시스템을 개발하거나 운영하고 있는 업체의 IS 실무자들에게 (1) IS 실무자의 업무 수행 성과, (2) 소프트웨서 및 IT 전문기술수준, (3) IS 지식 및 능력 수준, 그리고 (5) 재교육 수요에 대해서 설문 조사하였다. 본 연구의 조사 대상자들은 주로 Sl(system integration) 업체에 종사하는 IT(information technology) 실무자들과 e-Business를 수행하는 일반 기업에서 전산 업무를 담당하고 있는 실무자들이며, 구체적으로는 전산시스템 운영자, 시스템/데이터베이스 분석/설계자, 어플리케이션/웹 프로그래머, 최종사용자 지원 담당자, e-Business를 위한 IT 지원 인력 등이다. 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 충북 지역에서 IS 실무자들은 자신들의 업무를 성공적으로 수행하기 위한 지식 및 기술의 다양한 영역에서 광범위하게 지식 및 기술의 결핍을 느끼고 있으며, 자신의 업무 성과가 전반적으로 좋지 않다고 판단하고 있고, 업무 관련 지식 및 기술에 대한 재교육의 필요성을 강하게 느끼고 있다. 또한, 충북 지역의 IS 실무자들은 주된 활동이나 업무가 시스템 개발과 유지보수, 최종 사용자 지원 등의 활동이며, 이에 대한 최신의 기술과 고객 중심의 시각화된 도구(GUI)를 제공하는데 많은 시간을 투자하며, 기존의 반복적인 개발 업무에서 점차 경력이 쌓임에 따라 고객 중심적인 새로운 시스템 개발을 위한 기획과 관리에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있으나, 조직 운영 및 의사결정 등과 같은 기술/지식들에는 낮은 관심을 보였다. IT전문 기술들 중 IS 실무자들이 필요로 하고 보유해야 한다고 응답한 기술들은 대다수가 웹 개발에 관련된 기술이며, IS 실무자들은 대규모 프로젝트의 수행에 필요한 공동 작업 수행 능력의 제고와 그를 위한 재교육에 높은 관심을 나타내었다. 본 조사는 충북의 IS 실무자들을 위한 대학 교육과 재교육을 포함하는 최적의 평생 교육계획 수립을 위한 기초적이고 필수적인 정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Recently construction industry has faced new era as following the advances of IT technology. It becomes possible that information and knowledge among people are exchanged actively thanks to computer-based tools. In fact, the tools, PMIS(Project Management Information System) and KMS(Knowledge Management System) already have been introduced to constuction industry successfully. Lately IETM(Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) is tried to be one of these systems. This trying is being enlarged that the IETM's concept is changed to administrative and legal process provider throughout the lifespan of construction projects. However, it is hard to define construction IETM in mega-scale project like urban regeneration project because construction projects are complex and have diverse stakeholders. These properties may make the IETM ambiguous system. To do define IETM as a administrative and legal process provider, this research will conduct survey and interview, then analyze its own properties and find out design strategies. Based on the properties and strategies, suggesting IETM's system demands and architecture of urban regeneration processes.

The Application Scheme of Management of Technology for Strengthen the Competitiveness in Oil and Gas Plant Industry (오일.가스 플랜트 산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 기술경영 도입방안)

  • Recently orders of project in the field of oil & gas plant have been increased due to raising oil prices and consumptions. Domestic oil & gas companies are expanding into the Middle East area and all over the world. In the field of oil & gas plant, it is important to manage a technical control and a license that is occurred when developing the manufacturing processes and technologies. Because the oil & gas market has a lot of executions of the oversea construction, competitions between the advanced companies is more important. Therefore, we have to adopt systematic management style for achievements of the technical competitive power and the higher position. However, domestic oil & gas plant companies have not enough competitive powers of the license and the design phase. So, they are faced with difficulties of adopting the technology which is maximizing the effect of investments and scheduling a long-range plan. To achieve the technology management and the competitive power, this study proposes a long-range plan through the analysis of execution methods for technology management.
