A Study on the Effects of Fuel Rail Pressure and Engine Speed on Gas Fuel System (연료레일 압력과 엔진 속도가 가스연료 시스템에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to figure out the fuel injection characteristics according to the injection pressure and engine speed in the fuel supply system for gas fuel. The fuel rail pressure was from 1.5 to 6.0 bar by 1.5 bar increment and engine speed was set 1,000 ~ 6,000 RPM at interval of 1000 RPM. Considering the real engine operation, the injection pulse width was set 2.5ms, 5.0ms, and 13.0ms which correspond low, mid and high load condition respectively. In conclusion, in case of 100cc fuel rail, 4.5 bar of injection pressure showed best performance and the minimum required injection quantity 53cc which guarantees engine output can be obtained in each 1000~ 6000 rpm engine speed.

  • 본 프로젝트는 수주 오더에 대한 납기 예측과 가공사 Delivery 체계의 전반적 향상을 목적으로 하며, 이에 따른 목표로는 로트 편성의 자동화, 월간, 주간 및 일간 단위의 생산 스케쥴 자동 작성, 원자재 소요량과 재공 및 재고 예측, 설비 부하 분석, 생산 사이클 타임 분석 및 단축이다. 상기의 목표 달성을 위한 가공사 Delivery Scheduling 시스템은 계획용 로트 편성 모델, 실행용 로트 편성 모델, 그리고 가공사 생산 스케쥴 작성을 위한 Simulation 모델로 구성된다. 계획용 로트 편성 모델은 현행의 로트 편성 기준에 따라 미가공 생산의뢰서 전체 물량을 대상으로 로트를 편성하여 이 로트를 염색기에 할당하는 모델이며, 실행용 로트 편성 모델에서는 일일 원사재고, 염색기 고장 등과 같은 실제 조업여건을 고려하여, 작업지시서 발행이 가능한 생산의뢰서 물량에 대하여만 로트 편성을 행한다. 가공사 생산 스케쥴 작성을 위한 Simulation 모델은 계획용 혹은 실행용 로트 편성 모델로부터 얻어지는 로트 편성 결과 또는 로트 번호가 부여된 최종 로트 편성 결과 (재공 로트 포함)를 입력으로 하여 이들 로트가 가공사 생산공정에서 처리되는 상세한 조업을 모의 생산하는 모델이다. 본 시스템은 영업부 및 기획부와 가공부의 사용 목적에 따라 크게 두가지로 사용될 수 있다. 영업부 및 기획부에서는 계획용 로트 편성 모델과 Simulation 모델을 사용하여 수주 오더에 대한 납기 예측 및 원사 수급 계획의 작성에 의사결정 지원을 받을 수 있으며, 가공부에서는 실행용 로트 편성 모델 및 Simulation 모델을 사용하여 상세 가공사 생산 스케쥴의 작성 및 긴급 오더의 처리 등에 관한 의사결정 지원을 받을 수 있다. 본 프로젝트를 통한 효과로는 정확한 생산 스케쥴의 자동 작성 및 스케쥴 작성시간 단축, 납기 예측 및 납기 준수율 향상, 실적관리 향상, 그리고 설비 가동율 분석, 현장관리 등을 위한 기타 유용한 정보제공 등이다.

Evaluation of Downflow Granular Media Filtration for Stormwater Treatment (강우유출수에 의한 비점오염 저감을 위한 하향류식 입상여과 효율 평가)

  • The stormwater runoff from the increasing paved roads and vehicles resulted in the increase in the pollutants load to adjacent water bodies. The granular media filtration facilities are the most widely adopted to minimize the non-point source pollution from motorways. It is essential to consider the severe variation of hydraulic condition, suspended solid (SS) characteristics, and the medium characteristics for stormwater management filter. In this study, different types of media, including sand, were tested and the performance of downflow sand filters was investigated under various linear velocity and influent solid particle size. Results showed that the best medium is the coarse sand with large grain size, which showed the specific SS removal before clogging of more than $8.498kg/m^2$, the SS removal of higher than 95%, and minimum head loss. Linear velocity did not affect the total solid removal, while the performance was improved when fine solid was introduced. It is suggested that the life of a downflow sand filter bed can be extended by deep bed filtration when influent particles are fine. However, the captured particles can be washed out after a long period of operation.

Thermal Efficiency analysis according to tar fouling by Structure Improvement of Wood pellet boiler using Computational Fluid Dynamics (전산유체역학(CFD) 목재펠릿보일러 구조개선 전·후 타르생성에 따른 열효율 분석)

  • 목질계바이오매스 중 목재펠릿은 '탄소중립(Carbon Neutral)' 연료로써 온실가스 감축 의무에 대응 가능한 에너지원이다. 하지만 목질계바이오매스 연소 시 발생되는 타르는 보일러 내부에 누적되어 효율을 감소시킨다. 타르 및 연소 불꽃에 의한 효율 감소를 최소화하기 위해 반대측면에 내화재(Castable)를 적용하여 실험하였으며 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 구조변경 분석이 실시되었다. 적용된 내화재는 비중이 낮고 단열성이 우수하여 열손실을 막아 연료비 절감의 효과를 가져 오며, 연소실 내부 청소 면적 감소로 인한 경제적 효과도 기대 할 수 있다. 분석결과를 이용하여 최적화된 펠릿보일러가 제작되었으며, 실험을 통하여 200시간 가동 후 열효율 감소량이 나타났다. 단위시간별 동일한 외부환경(산화제량, 부하, 주변 온도, 펠릿소비량)에서 실험이 진행 되었으며, 타르생성이전(Non-tar), 이후(Tar-existence) 보일러의 열효율 성능 비교실험이 실시되었다. 실험결과 타르생성이전 조건에서 구조변경 전 후 보일러의 열효율은 각각 91.87%, 90.73%로 확인되었으며, 타르생성이후 조건에서 각각 82.68%, 83.27%의 열효율을 확인하였다. 타르생성이전 대비 이후 조건에서 열효율 감소량은 각각 9.19%p, 7.46%p로 구조변경 전 대비 변경 후 보일러의 열효율이 약 1.73%p 더 적게 감소됨을 확인되었으며, 시뮬레이션 결과 타르생성이전 조건에서 구조변경 전 후 보일러의 효율은 각각 91.83%, 92.05%로 확인되었으며 타르 생성이후 조건에서 각각 85.25%, 87.43%의 열효율을 확인하였다. 타르생성이전 대비 이후 조건에서 열효율 감소량은 각각 6.58%, 4.62%로 구조변경 전 대비 변경 후 보일러의 열효율이 약 1.96%p 더 적게 감소됨을 확인하였다.

  • The urban is possessing of various landuses such as commercial, industrial, residential and official areas. All of these landuses is including the paved areas that are roads and parking lots. The NPS (nonpoint sources) pollutants are generally originated from pavement areas in urban by human activities. Especially the roads are stormwater intensive landuses because of high vehicle activities and high imperviousness. The main NPS pollutants from roads are particulates and metals from vehicles and pavements. The Korea MOE (Ministry of Environment) is developing the NPS control program to reduce the NPS pollutants from the basins. However, it is not easy to control the NPS because it has high uncertainty by characteristics of rainfalls and watersheds. Therefore, this research was conducted on characterizing the runoff and providing mean EMC from roads. The monitoring were performed for total 16 rainfall events from a road in Youngin City since 2006. The results show that the TSS is highly correlated with other pollutant parameters. The statistical regression models using TSS EMC have been developed to easily determine the EMC of other pollutant parameters.

Musculoskeletal Workload Evaluation in Physical Therapist (물리치료사의 근골격계 부담작업 유해요인 조사)

  • This study investigated the symptoms of work-related musculoskeletal disorder(WMSDs) for physical therapists who have different work duties. We analyzed the symptoms in the musculoskeletal system and the degree of work-harmfulness by the survey of the symptom in the musculoskeletal system and rapid upper limb assessment(RULA) for pain control group(n=56), adult exercise group(n=53), and pediatric exercise group(n=22). As a result, 69.6% of the pain control group, 84.9% of the adult exercise group, 81.8% of the pediatric exercise group show the observable symptom. The adult exercise group has the biggest work load per hour in the final wrist & arm score of the ergonomic risk assessment using RULA. The action level of the pain control group is $3.0{\pm}0.9$; the Action Level of adult exercise group is $3.3{\pm}0.6$; the Action Level of the pediatric exercise group is $3.2{\pm}0.8$, and so it is shown that the adult exercise group has a problem of working posture. It is considered that devices and education system for preventing from WMSDs should come into wide use.

  • An experimental research was performed employing the two stage anaerobic digestion of the mixture of the nightsoil and septic tank sludge to determine the effects of various hydraulic retention time of the digestion on chemical characteristics and treatment effeciency, thus determining the proper retention time. Results of the research are as follows, 1. Volatile-acid decreased as HRT increased. 2. Alklinity and ammonia-N tended to increase as HRT increased as did pH values, however, were observed to be constant at higher HRT values than 15 days. 3. The removal efficiencies of TBOD, TCOD and VS increased as HRT increased. 4. The removal efficiency of volatile solid decreased as VS loading increased. 5. It was observed that the rates of gas production were: 0.33 with HRT of 5 days, 0.58 with HRT of 15 days and $0.57m^3/kg$ VS fed/day with HRT of 25 days respectively. It is believed that the highest rate of gas production was at HRT of 15 days. 6. The sludge settling experiment showed that the minimum settling time required to ensure the desired underflow concentraton was estimated to be 8.6 days.

  • LBS (Location-Based Service) systems have become a serious subject for research and development since recent rapid advances in wireless communication technologies and position measurement technologies such as global positioning system. The architecture named the GALIS (Gracefully Aging Location Information System) has been suggested which is a cluster-based distributed computing system architecture to overcome performance losses and to efficiently handle a large volume of data, at least millions. The GALIS consists of SLDS and LLDS. The SLDS manages current location information of moving objects and the LLDS manages past location information of moving objects. In this thesis, we implement a monitoring technique for the GALIS prototype, to allow dynamic load balancing among multiple computing nodes by keeping track of the load of each node in real-time during the location data management and spatio-temporal query processing. We also propose a buffering technique which efficiently manages the query results having overlapped query regions to improve query processing performance of the GALIS. The proposed scheme reduces query processing time by eliminating unnecessary query execution on the overlapped regions with the previous queries.

High safety battery management system of DC power source for hybrid vessel (하이브리드 선박 직류전원용 고 안전 BMS)

  • In order to drive a hybrid propulsion device which combines an engine and an electric propulsion unit, battery packs that contain dozens of unit cells consisting of a lithium-based battery are used to maintain the power source. Therefore, it is necessary to more strictly manage a number of battery cells at any given time. In order to manage battery cells, generally voltage, current, and temperature data under load condition are monitored from a personal computer. Other important elements required to analyze the condition of the battery are the internal resistances that are used to judge its state-of-health (SOH) and the open-circuit voltage (OCV) that is used to check the battery charging state. However, in principle, the internal resistances cannot be measured during operation because the parallel equivalent circuit is composed of internal loss resistances and capacitance. In most energy storage systems, battery management system (BMS) operations are carried out by using data such as voltage, current, and temperature. However, during operation, in the case of unexpected battery cell failure, the output voltage of the power supply can be changed and propulsion of the hybrid vehicle and vessel can be difficult. This paper covers the implementation of a high safety battery management system (HSBMS) that can estimate the OCV while the device is being driven. If a battery cell fails unexpectedly, a DC power supply with lithium iron phosphate can keep providing the load with a constant output voltage using the remainder of the batteries, and it is also possible to estimate the internal resistance.

Application of Automatic Stormwater Monitoring System and SWMM Model for Estimation of Urban Pollutant Loading During Storm Events (빗물 자동모니터링장치와 SWMM 모델을 이용한 강우시 도시지역 오염부하량 예측에 관한 연구)

  • An automatic flow and water quality monitoring system was applied to estimate pollutant loads to an urban stream during storm events in DTV (Daeduk Techno Valley), Daejeon, Korea. The monitoring system consists of rainfall gage, ultrasonic water level meter, water quality sensors for DO, temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity and automatic water sampler for further laboratory analysis. All data are transmitted through on-line system and the monitoring system is designed to be controlled manually in the field and remotely from laboratory computer. Flow rates were verified with field measurements during storm events and showed good agreements. Automatic sampler was used to collect real time samples and analyzed for BOD, COD, TN, TP, SS and other pollutant concentrations in the laboratory. SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) urban watershed model was applied and calibrated using the observed flow and water quality data for the study area. While flow modeling results showed good agreement for all events, water quality modeling results showed variable levels of agreement. These results indicate that current options in the SWMM model to predict pollutant build up and wash-off effects are not sufficient to satisfy modeling of all the rainfall events under study and thus need further modification. This study showed the automatic monitoring system can be used to provide data to assist further refinement of modeling accuracy. This automatic stormwater monitoring and modeling system can be used to develop basin scale water quality management strategies of urban streams in storm events.
