Recently, dissection puzzles such as pentominoes have been used in mathematics education. But they are not actively applicable as a tool of problem solving or introducing mathematical concepts since researches about the historical background and developments of mathematical applications of such puzzles have not been effectively accomplished. In this article, in order to use pentominoes in mathematical teaming effectively, we first investigate geometric problems related to dissection puzzles and the historic background of development of pentominoes. And then we collect and classify data related to pentomino activities which can be applicable to mathematics classes based on the 7th elementary school national curriculum. Finally, we suggest several basic materials and directions to develop more systematic learning materials about pentominoes.

The purpose of this study was to explore and classify the types of portal sites' preferences among korean elderly in Korea by using the Q-methodology. 35 q-samples were adopted based on literature reviews and interviews with elderly and staff in charge of information education for the elderly. As results, types of portal sites' preferences among Korean elderly were categorized into four: 1) universality and popularity, 2) personal interests, 3) social relationship, and 4) convenience. This study also explored attributes of each type of perception and delivered implication to prepare and improve better portal sites for the elderly and finally help them use portal site more effectively and enhance their quality of life.

이 연구는 노인들의 혈액형이 인지 기능및 행동성향과 상관 관계가 있는지를 개인이 지닌 뇌신경 생리학적 지표인 뇌파 측정을 이용하여 비교 하여보았다.. 대상자는 2008년 9월에서 2009년6월까지 한국정신과학연구소에 뇌파측정 의뢰한 노인(60세 이상)을 기준으로 선정한 자료이다. 노인 여자 311명 노인 남자명451명 총762 명이다. 노인 혈액형 분포는 A형이 남 289명(64%), 여 111명(36%), B형이 남 78명 (17%), 여 64명(20%), O형이 남 57명(13%), 여 100명(32%), AB형이 남 27영(6%), 여 36명(12%)로 A>B>O>AB형 순이었다. 분석 결과 노인들의 혈액형과 행동성향과 상관관계에서 여자노인에서는 무관하였고 남자노인에서는 유의미한 차이가 있었다. B형과 O형의 남자노인에서 부정성향이 높다고 본다. 인지기능과의 상관관계에서는 정서지수(p=.001)와 활성지수(우)(p=.040)에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다.. 정서지수에서는 A형이 가장 높았고 활성지수에서는 AB형이 가장 높았다. 이 연구 결과 몇 개의 범주에서 혈액형과 의의있는 상관 관계를 보여 주었으며 미치는 영향이나 유전적인 역할이 어떻게 영향을 주는지의 작용기전을 규명하는 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

Using 492 older people in Chuncheon, this study examines whether social support is associated with depression of older people. Findings show that stress is positively associated with depression. Social support is negatively related to depression of older people. Analysis on the sources of social support reveals that all of the supports from families, friends, and important others are negatively associated with depression of the elderly. However, buffering effects of social support is not confirmed. Depression of older people is also associated with gender, household type, economic activity participation, and chronic diseases. Based on the findings, this study provides suggestions to prevent depression of older people and future research agenda.

The Internet is being used in daily life, information literacy for the aged is become necessary. For the aged, they can communicate with different age groups and can improve their lives as a component of the society through information literacy. In this paper, we first analyze the computer class of Gumi Senior Welfare Center of Gyeongsangbuk-Do and then present the questionnaire including their needs for education and their changes after receiving information literacy. We also give the future direction of information literacy for the aged. The results of this paper will be useful to improve the lives of the local aged.

본 연구는 계룡산국립공원 갑사 계곡에 위치하는 낙엽활엽노거수군집의 식생군집구조를 부석하기 위하여 18개의 Belt-transect를 설정하여 조사하였다. 노거수군집 전체면적은 $46.442\m^2$이었고, 이 중 노거수가 차지하는 면적은 $35.246\m^2$이었으며, 대표적인 현존식생은 느티나무군집, 팽나무군집, 회화나무군집, 소나무군집, 말채나무군집이었다. 노고수의 규 은 흉고직경이 50~120cm, 수고가 18~22m 이었으며, 흉고직경 70cm이상되는 수종은 소나무(1주), 느티나무(9주), 갈참나무(8주), 졸참나무(1주), 회화나무(2주), 말채나무(1주)이었고, 본 조사 대상지의 평균수령은 150년생 내외이었다. 18개 조사구에 대하여 DCA의 ordination 분석결과 소나무군집, 느타나무-낙엽활엽수군집, 검팽나무-낙엽활엽수군집, 회화나무군집, 말채나무군집, 팽나무군집으로 분리되었다. 교모측의 우점종감의 평균거리는 8~12m이었고, Shannon의 종다양도는 0.7~0.9(단위면적:$200\m^2$_이었다.X>_이었다.

As a part of improving early response system for senior emergency patients in rural areas in preparation for accelerated transition of Korea into aged society, this study seeks to make effective use of town broadcasting equipments and improve conventional educational ways for the first aid for senior people to boost up availability of private rescue personnel, so that it can contribute to improving capacity to early response to potential occurrence of emergency situations. In addition, this study focuses on profiling current activities of 119 geriatric Emergency Medical Services available in Korea, and also exploring possible ways to improve emergency services for senior safety which can play useful roles of social safeguard in imminent aged society as well as efficient ways to build up infrastructure for senior safety on the basis of opening up senior safety center.

The purpose of this study was to empirically test whether occupational welfare in Korea would have grown since the mid 1990s. The result of this study showed that after the IMF fiscal crisis, the policies of labor flexibility in labor market initiated flexible forms of employer-provided benefits, including cafeteria plan or profit-based funds, which finally led to a decline of occupational welfare rather than a growth. Existing studies haven't agreed on trade-off of statutory and voluntary social provisions since the crisis of welfare state. However, based on the case of Korea, this study suggested archetypal development of welfare system experiencing a decline of occupational welfare paralleled with a growth of state welfare provision.

In this paper, Electronic Drum based on Arduino and Processing language to communicate with a computer is implemented. First, we made a drum pad by using piezoelectric sensors. The drum pads prevent damage to the sensor and new mechanism was fabricated to mitigate the impact structure. Arduino connected to the pad, the sensor detects a signal when the shock sends it to Arduino. The received signal of Arduino sends a signal to the computer, and the signal received is stored in the computer to output sound of the drum. Through this structure, the micro-controller, the computer and communications technology can be combined and applicable to a many system.

The 2018 midterm elections were considered a referendum for Trump Presidency, especially because Latino community has been feeling that the anti-immigration, anti-Latino policies of Trump administration are harmful to the community. News Media and pundits predicted the boost of the Latino turnout and its positive effects on Democratic candidates at all levels. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of Latino demographics and Latino public opinion and to analyze the election results with exit poll data and actual aggregate data. The data analysis shows that, compared to 2014 midterm elections, Latino turnout and the support for Democratic candidates actually increased in most counties and precincts, which is more salient in the areas with heavy Latino concentration.
