A Selection-Deletion of Prime Implicants Algorithm Based on Frequency for Circuit Minimization (빈도수 기반 주 내포 항 선택과 삭제 알고리즘을 적용한 회로 최소화)

  • This paper proposes a simple algorithm for circuit minimization. There are currently two effective heuristics for circuit minimization, namely manual Karnaugh maps and computable Quine-McCluskey algorithm. The latter, however, has a major defect: the runtime and memory required grow $3^n/n$ times for every increase in the number of variables n. The proposed algorithm, however, extracts the prime implicants (PI) that cover minterms of a given Boolean function by deriving an implicants table based on frequency. From a set of the extracted prime implicants, the algorithm then eliminates redundant PIs again based on frequency. The proposed algorithm is therefore capable of minimizing circuits polynomial time when faced with an increase in n. When applied to various 3-variable and 4-variable cases, it has proved to swiftly and accurately obtain the optimal solutions.

  • This paper revises the Quine-McCluskey Algorithm to circuit minimization problems. Quine-McCluskey method repeatedly finds the prime implicant and employs additional procedures such as trial-and-error, branch-and-bound, and Petrick's method as a means of circuit minimization. The proposed algorithm, on the contrary, produces an implicant chart beforehand to simplify the search for the prime implicant. In addition, it determines a set cover to streamline the search for $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ essential prime implicants. When applied to 3-variable and 4-variable experimental data, the proposed algorithm has indeed proved to obtain the optimal solutions much more simply and accurately than the Quine-McCluskey method.

  • Nowadays, the redevelopment of the conventional pier in Busan port has been one of top issues on Busan port. Busan Port Authority has already launched a research project on that and the Master Plan undergoing. However, the conventional pier is still booming one for small vessels providing feeder service to and from Busan port and both Japanese ports and Chinese ones. Accordingly, there are several terminal operation companies(TOC) and union workers which make might be a major obstacle for the redevelopment. Furthermore, it has been said that alternative pier is necessary before starting redevelopment. Under such circumstance this paper tries to review the major limitations and provide some thought for the solution.

  • In view of the great disparity between forecasts of Shanghai port container handling capacity and its real results, we choose a dynamic forecast method by the causality model dynamic compensation to predict Shanghai port container handling capacity. And we forecast Shanghai port container handling capacity by using this method. We have made a satisfactory achievement, which provides a more reliable and practical way to forecast container handling capacity.

  • The domestic law establishes a sea trial prohibited area and stipulates that a sea trial is prohibited in this area. However, depending on the user, the term is used interchangeably with on-board test after repaired, In particular, ships undergoing test called a sea trial after remodeling and repairing ships at repair shipyards do not comply with these regulations. By this study, we would like to look at the relevant laws and regulations to see if these ships can be interpreted as sea trial, and suggest the necessity of managing repaired test ships with risks comparable to those of sea trial ships.

  • Analysis of siR isolates of Trichemenes veginalis was carried out with sodium dodecyl sulfate- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot (EITB). Trichloroacetic acid-treated antigens of the 6 isolates revealed 25 protein profiles ranging 12~170 kDa of molecular weight in SDS-PAGE. In EITB, the specific immunogenic bands were visualized at 51 kDa and 96 kDa when HY-1 antigen was probed with difFerent mice sera immunized with 6 isolates of T. vaginalis. The banding patterns with different sera showed isolate-to-isolate variability. In EITB, homologous antigen (HY-1) did not show any enhanced response in reacting to homologous antiserum(HY-1) when 6 isolates of T. vaginalis were probed with a single serum (HY-1). It is assumed that the different banding patterns of six isolates show isolate-to-isolate variability and immunogenic common bands in 41, 47, 74 and 9:k kDa on EITB may connote the important significance on immune response in T. vaginalis infection.

  • Expressions for the lift and the drag exerted on a circular cylinder by an unsteady flow of an ideal fluid with embedded discrete vortices are derived. The formulae can be used in the discrete vortex method of flow simulation. These formulae are derived via contour integration on the complex plane. Terms have been produced which are significantly different from those in Sarpkaya's formulae. These are expected to bring a change to the forces obtained so far.

  • Most of burning rate models used in hybrid combustion depend solely on oxidizer flux. But this empirical relation can not represent well the important effect of the thermo-chemical properties of solid fuel and thereby requires different value of empirical exponent and constant for each fuel considered. In this study, a new burning rate correlation was proposed using the mass transfer number(B number) which encompasses the thermochemistry effect of solid fuel and the aerodynamic effect caused by the combustion on the solid fuel surface where the effect of aerodynamic property in the mass transfer number was studied. The PMMA, PP, and PE were chosen as fuel, and gas oxygen as oxidizer. The new empirical burning rate expression depending on both the oxidizer flux and the mass transfer number was able to predict the burning rate of each fuel with just a single exponent value and constant, and it was found that the aerodynamic effect on the blowing effect did show a minor effect on the burning rate correlation.

  • The change of hazard rates at some unknown time point has been the interest of many statisticians. But it was restricted to the constant hazard rates which correspond to the exponential distribution. In this paper we generalize the change-point model in which any specific functional forms of hazard rates are net assumed. The assumed model includes various types of changes before and after the unknown time point. The Nelson estimator of cumulative hazard function is introduced. We estimate the change-point maximizing slope changes of Nelson estimator. Consistency and asymptotic distribution of bootstrap estimator are obtained using the martingale theory. Through a Monte Carlo study we check the performance of the proposed method. We also explain the proposed method using the Stanford Heart Transplant Data set.
