4PBL model proposal for education of Game Design (게임 교과목 교육을 위한 4PBL모델 제안 연구)

  • This article aims to present an effective and systematic learning methodology of game curriculum which is oriented convergence education. In particular, I will present the 4PBL model reflecting the trend of the changing times from teacher-centered learning to learner-centered learning environment. The 4PBL model consists of Personal based Learning, Problem based Learning, Project based learning and Performance based Learning. In this article, I will explain the concepts and characteristics of PBLs at each stage by providing concrete examples of game education courses. Such an attempt may have a meaningful value in that it can suggest a learning environment in which knowledge can be structured subjectively in a changing educational paradigm.

  • Recognizing that the fundamental cause of construction safety accidents was a lack of safety management activities in the planning and design phases, the government made the Design for Safety (DFS) system mandatory in May 2016. However, awareness among ordering parties and designers regarding this system is significantly low, and the system has not been properly established due to reasons such as the need for additional work and a lack of professional manpower. In this study, the awareness of ordering parties and designers of the DFS system was analyzed through a survey, various problems in DFS work execution were identified and measures for improvement were presented. Measures to improve the efficiency in DFS work execution involve the discovery of risk factors and establishment of countermeasures, and here the establishment of a DFS work support system that enables the sharing of information between institutions is the most urgent priority. In addition, it is also urgently necessary to establish a dedicated organization in charge of DFS work, cultivate professional manpower, develop the relevant education programs and establish a proper cost calculation standard for DFS work execution by design offices.

  • Transparency on the Total System Performance Assessment (TSPA) is the key issue to enhance the public acceptance for a radioactive repository. To approve it, all performances on TSPA through Quality Assurance is necessary. The integrated Cyber R&D Platform is developed by KAERI using the T2R3 principles applicable for five major steps : planning, research work, documentation, and internal & external audits in R&D's. The proposed system is implemented in the web-based system so that all participants in TSPA are able to access the system. It is composed of three sub-systems; FEAS (FEp to Assessment through Scenario development) showing systematic approach from the FEPs to Assessment methods flow chart, PAID (Performance Assessment Input Databases) being designed to easily search and review field data for TSPA and QA system containing the administrative system for QA on five key steps in R&D's in addition to approval and disapproval processes, corrective actions, and permanent record keeping. All information being recorded in QA system through T2R3 principles is integrated into Cyber R&D Platform so that every data in the system can be checked whenever necessary. Throughout the next phase R&D, Cyber R&D Platform will be connected with the assessment tool for TSPA so that it will be expected to search the whole information in one unified system.

  • Korean traditional alcohol's growth gets declined after Makgeolli's boom and it's time to enter the takeoff stage using cup based on the characteristics of each alcohols in order to their globalization and quality improvement. For now, there are 3 features of Korean traditional alcohol's cup design development; subdivision, quality improvement, systematization. However, there's no product design case that reflect the characteristics of the alcohol from the planning phase. Therefore, it needs to establish process technology for storytelling and emotion based cup design. This research aims to extract the specification for cup design and to find out the visualization element of cup's shape and material by studying 5 senses and traditional alcohol's objective informations. Through the study, the elements that can maximize the specific traditional alcohol's marketability: cup's label, pattern, decorative element based on the storytelling like history and tale were found. As a result, those result can give a new export strategy by developing competitive design that has emotional element and storytelling from the traditional alcohol's characteristics in a situation of stagnant export of the small sized home-brewed liquor business.

  • Unlike advancements on land, the maritime industry has been slow to embrace new technologies, primarily due to user apprehension toward unproven innovations in the development process. The existing paradigm of technology development, marked by expert-oriented and laboratory-centric test environments, often leads to a stagnation of progress at the research stage, as the applicability of the technology remains uncertain. This study departed from the conventional research system and introduced a novel methodology known as a "living lab." This approach aimed to ensure applicability by actively involving field-oriented users throughout the entire lifecycle of technology development, encompassing planning, development, verification, and evaluation. The presentation of a plan for the construction and operation of such a living lab in this study is expected to contribute to establishing an efficient experimentation system for ships that can reflect user opinions in the future and to secure technology applicability in the maritime field.

Management Strategies and the Growth Stages Analysis of Local Festival : Cases of Hampyeong Butterfly Festival and Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival (지역축제의 성장단계별분석과 관리전략 : 함평나비축제와 화천산천어축제를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of two local festivals, already recognized as a successful regional cultural festival, over a period of time to apply the product life cycle theory. As a result of the analysis of the two festivals, in introduction stage, the festival organizers have focused mainly on settling down the festival's core programs and raising awareness on the subject of the festival for the stimulation for basic demands. Second, for maintaining increasing demands, the qualitative improvement of the core program, the development of new programs and the expansion of the programs for the visitors' convenience and safety were focused on. In addition, strategies for promoting awareness of the festival had modified the strategy to promote on the contents and programs of the festival, as well as public relations strategy, not only domestic but also the foreign countries, was established and fulfilled. Lastly, in maturity stage, to overcome declining the number of visitors and economic effect both festivals have showed providing sophisticated programs for the visitors' convenience and safety, improving service quality through the development of the existing programs, providing economic benefits such as admission cuts or giving gift certificates and expanding number of foreign visitors with strengthening the promotion that was implemented in growth stage and enhancing the better image of the festival through the social contribution. Therefore, strategies for the each stage mentioned above present the significant policy implications for festival organizers who were planning to establish a new festival or implementing a festival with experiencing the tepid growth.

The Brand Identity Design Evaluation Using EEG Measurement (뇌전도를 활용한 브랜드 아이덴티티 디자인 평가)

  • Brand identity (BI) is a key asset that affects consumers' psychological cognition of products and services. In the initial planning stage of the BI design development for a company, a unique approach strategy is required. In the final evaluation stage, a reasonable design evaluation method involving potential consumers needs to be prepared. However, conventional brand identity design evaluation processes tend to depend on the results of surveys, and in many cases it is impossible to be free from the distorting phenomenon of survey respondents' psychological manifestation which is often revealed in the process of the surveys. In this context, this research has explored whether the method of utilizing EEG data of the subjects along with the conventional survey method of preference could be helpful in the process of evaluating the brand identity design. To achieve that, we correlated the subject's preference survey results with the subject's EEG data. 'Attractiveness' and 'concentration' were used as variables. As a result, it was found that there was a high correlation between the results of preference survey on 'attractiveness' and the results of 'EEG' on 'concentration'. Therefore, in addition to the existing conventional qualitative evaluation methods, we confirmed that design evaluation methods using EEG are useful for evaluating tacit knowledge objects such as the BI design.

Operation Case of Mechanical Engineering Subject Applying Systematic Engineering Design Approach: Design of Golf Ball Dispenser (체계적 공학설계 방법론을 적용한 기계공학 교과목 운영 사례: 골프공디스펜서 설계)

  • In this study, a class operation case of an engineering design project targeting a golf ball dispenser, a commercial product, was presented. The project was carried out according to the systematic engineering design approach suggested by Kim Jong-won and W. Beitz. This method broadly divides engineering design into four stages: 'product planning → conceptual design → basic design → detailed design'. In particular, the conceptual design stage is divided into 'functional structure diagram → detailed working principle exploration → various design alternatives creation → optimal design selection'. In the conceptual design, the input/output of the golf ball dispenser was defined and a functional structure diagram was prepared for it. Through this process, it was possible to subdivide the functions of the product and to easily explore the working principle for each. The searched working principles are devised as various design alternatives by various combinations, and for each proposal, the advantages and disadvantages were compared with each other to derive the optimal design alternative. In the basic design, the prototype layout was completed through failure mode analysis and the actual prototype was manufactured using it. Through the entire process, students participating in the class will be able to design commercial products in a systematic way and experience manufacturing prototypes within the department of mechanical engineering curriculum.

  • 본질적으로 복잡하고 다양한 특성을 가지는 우리나라(도시, 농어촌, 도서산간, 섬 등)의 물 공급 시스템은 생활수준의 향상, 기후변화 및 가뭄위기, 소비환경 중심의 요구와 한정된 수자원을 잘 활용하기 위한 운영 및 관리가 매우 복잡하다. 이로 인한 수자원 고갈과 가뭄위기 등에 관련한 대책 및 방안으로 대체수자원인 지하수 활용방안들이 제시되고 있다. 따라서, 물 관리 시스템과 관련한 디지털 기술은 오늘날 플랫폼과 디지털 트윈의 도입을 통해 네트워크와 가상현실 세계의 연결이 통합되어진 4차 산업혁명 사업이 현실화되고 있다. 물 관리 시스템에 사용된 새로운 디지털 기술 "BDA(Big Data Analytics), CPS(Cyber Physical System), IoT(Internet of Things), CC(Cloud Computing), AI(Artificial Intelligence)" 등의 성장이 증가함에 따라 가뭄대응 위기와 도시 지하수 물 순환 시스템 운영이 증가하는 소비자 중심의 수요를 충족시키기 위해서는 지속가능한 지하수 공급을 효과적으로 관리되어야 한다. 4차 산업혁명과 관련한 기술성장이 증가함으로 인한 물 부문은 시스템의 지속가능성을 향상시키기 위해 전체 디지털화 단계로 이동하고 있다. 이러한 디지털 전환의 핵심은 데이터에 관한 것이며, 이를 활용하여 가치 창출을 위해서 "Digital Groundwater Technology/Twin(DGT)"를 극대화하는 방식으로 제고해야 한다. 현재 당면하고 있는 기후위기에 따른 가뭄, 홍수, 녹조, 탁수, 대체수자원 등의 수자원 재해에 대한 다양한 대응 방안과 수자원 확보 기술이 논의되고 있다. 이에 따른 "물 순환 시스템"의 이해와 함께 문제해결 방안도출을 위하여 이번 "기획 세션"에서는 지하수 수량 및 수질, 정수, 모니터링, 모델링, 운영/관리 등의 수자원 데이터의 플랫폼 동시성 구축으로부터 역동적인 "DGT"을 통한 디지털 트윈화하여, 지표수-토양-지하수 분야의 특화된 연직 프로파일링 관측기술을 다각도로 모색하고자 한다. "Digital Groundwater(DG)"는 지하수의 물 순환, 수량 및 수질 관리, 지표수-지하수 순환 및 모니터링, 지하수 예측 모델링 통합연계를 위해 지하수 플랫폼 동시성, ChatGPT, CPS 및 DT 등의 복합 디지털화 단계로 나가고 있다. 복잡한 지하환경의 이해와 관리 및 보존을 위한 지하수 네트워크에서 수량과 수질 데이터를 수집하기 위한 스마트 지하수 관측기술 개발은 큰 도전이다. 스마트 지하수 관측기술은 BD분석, AI 및 클라우드 컴퓨팅 등의 디지털 기술에 필요한 획득된 데이터 분석에 사용되는 알고리즘의 복잡성과 데이터 품질에 따라 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문이다. "DG"는 지하수의 정보화 및 네트워크 운영관리 자동화, 지능화 등을 위한 디지털 도구를 활용함으로써 지표수-토양층-지하수 네트워크 통합관리에 대한 비전을 만들 수 있다. 또한, DGT는 지하수 관측센서의 1차원 데이터 융합을 이용한 지하수 플랫폼 동시성과 디지털 트윈을 연계할 수 있다.

Analysis of Leasing Decision Determinants by the Store Size and Lend-Lease Perspectives for Mix-Used Shopping Mall Development (복합쇼핑몰 개발을 위한 매장규모 및 임대차 관점에 따른 임차인 입점결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study intends to determine the decision making criteria of leasing in mix-used shopping mall, analyze the variation of their weight by store size inside mall and lend-lease perspective for lessor and lessee towards the identification of optimal leasing environment in mix-used shopping mall development. The decision making have been identified based on the number of prior literature review and expert consultation. And the AHP methodology and Fuzzy theory have been implemented to develop the weight for criteria based on experts survey. Research finding indicates that the 2 categories with 6 criteria and 24 sub-criteria have been determined. It is noteworthy that the large sized group would be located in both ends on main floor with their requested store size; middle sized group done over second floor with low rent by attracting with both competitive brands and key-tenants; small sized group done in both ends on main floor or on 2 to 3 floor connecting to main circulation. This should be examined in the planning stage of SPA lessee solicitation by the lessor in mix-used shopping mall development project.
