A Study on the method for choosing basic phoneme units based on the phoneme recognition rate (기보음소 설정을 위한 음소인식률 이용 방안 연구)

  • 한국통신의 음성인식 시스템에서 사용하는 기본 음소의 효율적인 설정을 위하여 음소인식률을 구하고 유사하게 인식되는 음소들의 집합인 cohort set을 구하여, 인식률을 최대로 하는 기본음소 집합을 찾는 방법이다. 실험 방식은 기본음소 59개로부터 시작하여 음소를1개씩 줄여가면서 최대 음소 인식률이 나오도록 하였다. 실험 결과 최고 성능을 나타내는 기본 음소 set을 구할 수 있었다.

  • Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm is modification of Viterbi algorithm to deliver not only the decoded codewords but also a posteriori probability for each bit. This paper presents SOVA decoder which can be used for component decoder of turbo decoder. We used two-step SMU architectures combined with systolic array traceback methods to reduce the complexity of the design. We followed the specification of CDMA2000 system for SOVA decoder design.

  • MR 영상을 획득하기 위해서 사용하고 있는 가장 기본적인 펄스파형(pulse sequense)은 스핀반향(spin echo)과 경사자계반향(gradient echo)이며, 최근 다방면으로 응용되고 있는 고속영상기법들은 이 두가지 펄스파형을 기보능로 하고 있다. 펄스파형의 종류와 펄스파형의 변수(TR, TE TI등의 펄스 상이의 시간 간격 및 flip angle 등)에 따라서 MR영상의 특징(대조도, SNR, artifact 등)이 달라지므로 임상응용시에는 목적에 따라 적절한 펄스파혀의 선택과 함께 변수값을 결정해야 한다. 이를 위하여 펄스파형에 관한 기본적인 지식과 함게 간단한 임상응용에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.

  • 미국원자력학회의 ${\ulcorner}$Nuclear News$P{\lrcorner}$지가 1986년 12월 31일 현재 전세계에서 운전중, 건설중 및 발주계획중인 30MWe 이상의 원자력발전소를 조사한 바에 따르면 상업운전중인 원자력발전소는 378기로서 시설용량은 1985년도보다 $6.8\%$ 증가한 265,808MWe이다. 1986년도에 새로 상업운전을 시작한 발전소의 수는 1985년도의 43기보다 훨씬 적은 23기이다. 이와같이 신규원전의 수가 줄은 것은 원칙적으로 매년 발주수의 변동이 있기 때문인데 근년에 발주수준이 감소한 것에도 기인한다. 그러나 금년에는 운전시설용량이 상당히 증가할 것으로 전망된다.

  • An electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device, so called, N-type extended drain silicon controlled rectifier (NEDSCR) device, was analyzed for high voltage I/O applications. A conventional NEDSCR device shows typical SCR-like characteristics with extremely low snapback holding voltage. This may cause latchup problem during normal operation. However, a modified NEDSCR device with proper junction / channel engineering demonstrates itself with both the excellent ESD protection performance and the high latchup immunity.

  • This paper deals with a simulation method of faults in a power transformer. Using the [R],[L] matrix supplied by the auxiliary routine of EMTP called BCTRAN, the turn to ground fault and turn to turn fault are simulated and the inrush condition is simulated using saturable transformer model. Data from simulations can be used to identify the response of the digital protection algorithms for transformer.

  • Conventional methods of automatically recording Go game positions do not properly consider obstacles (hand or object) on a Go board during the Go game. If the Go board is blocked by obstacles, the position of a Go stone may not be correctly recognized, or the sequences of moves may be stored differently from the actual one. In the proposed algorithm, only the complete Go board image without obstacles is stored as a background image and the obstacle is recognized by comparing the background image with the current input image. To eliminate the phenomenon that the shadow is mistaken as obstacles, this paper proposes the new obstacle detection method based on the gradient image instead of the simple differential image. When there is no obstacle on the Go board, the background image is updated. Finally, the successive background images are compared to recognize the position and type of the Go stone. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has more than 95% recognition rate in general illumination environment.

  • This paper describes an English-to-Korean automatic translation system for patent documents which is constructed by a method customizing from a general domain to a specific domain. The customizing method consists of following steps: 1) linguistically studying about characteristics of patent documents, 2) extracting unknown words from large patent documents and terminologically constructing, 3) customizing the target language words of existing terms, 4) extracting and constructing patent translation patterns peculiar to patent documents, 5) customizing existing translation engine modules according to linguistic study about characteristics of patent documents, 6) evaluation of automatic translation results. The English-to-Korean patent machine translation system implemented by these customization steps shows a translation accuracy of 81.03% and is improving.

  • The government is fostering a renewable energy industry as an alternative to handle the energy crisis. Among the renewable energy systems available, geothermal energy is being highlighted as being highly efficient and safely operable without the effect of outdoor air. Accordingly, a study on the geothermal heat pump is in progress in various worldwide perspective. However, Geothermal energy is only in charge of part load of the building due to the high initial installation cost in korea. Moreover, its efficiency is reduced due to the use of independent existing heat sources. In this study, after selecting the building containing the actual installed geothermal heat pump, the use of excellent geothermal heat pump systems was maximized in terms of the energy efficiency. The objective of this study is to show the operation method of geothermal heat pump system to improve energy efficiency through the TRNSYS simulation. This paper proposed operation methods of geothermal heat pump control according to outdoor air temperature. The result of this study is that existing operation method had some problems and if offered improvement is applied to real condition, energy consumption would be decreased.

A Similarity Computation Algorithm for Music Retrieval System Based on Query By Humming (허밍 질의 기반 음악 검색 시스템의 유사도 계산 알고리즘)

  • A user remembers a melody as not the combination of pitch and duration which is written in score but the contour which is composed of the relative pitch and duration. Because of the way of remembering a melody the previous Music Information Retrieval Systems which uses keyboard Playing or score as the main input melody are not easily acceptable in Query By Humming Systems. In this paper, we mention about the considerable checkpoints for Query By Humming System and previous researches. And we propose the feature extraction which is similar with the way of remembering a melody and similarity computation algorithms between melody in humming and melody in music. The proposed similarity computation algorithms solves the problem which can be happened when only uses the relative pitches by using relative durations.
