Effects of Lecturer Appearance and Speech Rate on Learning Flow and Teaching Presence in Video Learning (동영상 학습에서 교수자 출연여부와 발화속도가 학습몰입과 교수실재감에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in learning flow and teaching presence according to the lecturer's appearance and the lecturer's speech rate. For this experiment, 183 freshman students from Xingtai University in China were selected as subjects of the experiment, and a total of four types of lecture videos were developed to test the lecturer's appearance and their speech rates. Data was analyzed through multivariate analysis of variance. According to the results of the analysis, first, learning flow and teaching presence of groups who experienced the presence of the lecturer appeared were significantly higher than the groups who learned without the appearance of the lecturer. Second, the groups who learned from videos with a fast speech rate showed higher learning flow and teaching presence than the group who learned at a slow speech rate. Third, there were no significant differences in both learning flow and teaching presence according to the lecturer's appearance and speech rate. This result provides a theoretical and practical basis for developing customized videos according to learners' characteristics.

  • In this paper, a new viewpoint and practical education method were presented on educational culture related to today's religions and media. For this purpose, this paper considered the theories of religious media pedagogic and the concept of symbo1ic didactics relating to religious symbols in popular culture. In this paper, a total of eight cases of applying symbolic didactics were developed using the example of "The Da Vinci Code", based on the theoretical framework of religious media education and symbolic didactics. For this, the education methods and contents of religious media education were integrated with the teaching plan model of "action and development oriented media education". In order for this education to be applied effectively, experimental studies have to be carried out verifying the learning effects regarding this education. In particular, education for teachers who will tarry out this education is needed. This is because, in media education, the efficiency of education is significantly affected by the capacity of the one who is teaching.

A Study on Mathematizing Teaching and Learning in Highschool Calculus (고등학교 미적분에서의 수학화 교수.학습에 관한 연구)

  • Many studies indicate the emerging crisis of education of calculus even though the emphasis of calculus have been widely recognized. In our classrooms, the education of calculus also has been faced with its bounds. Most instructions of calculus is too much emphasis on the algebraic approach, thus students solve mathematical problems without truly understanding the underlying concept. The purpose of this study is to develop mathematization teaching and learning materials and methods in caculus based on the mathematization teaching and learning theories by Freudenthal and the variability principles of conceptual learning by Dienes, In order to this purpose, first, we analyzed the high school mathematics II textbook of 7th curriculum in Korea. Second, we developed mathematization teaching and learning materials and methods in highschool calculus. Consequently, the following conclusions have been drawn: we have reorganized and reconstructed the context problem in calculus based on concepts of tangent line and instantaneous rate of change.

  • WBES(Web-Based Education System for Programming Language)는 웹을 기반으로 한 프로그래밍 학습 시스템이다. 학습자와 교수자가 시스템적 공간적 제약에 구애 받지 않도록 하여 학습자에게는 자율적이고 효율적인 학습이 가능하도록 하고 교수자에게는 과제제출이나 성적부여에 편의성을 극대화 한다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 WBES의 구현으로 가상학습시스템의 실습교육환경 미 구축 문제를 해결하여 이론교육과 그에 따른 실습이 병행되도록 한다. 또한 교수자 일인당 많은 학습자가 존재하는 현재의 교육환경에서 과제제출과 채점, 성적부여에서 학습자를 개인단위로 관리해야 하는 어려움을 별도의 과정이나 번거로움 없이 해결한다. 향후 본 시스템은 사이버대학, 방송대학, IT교육기관 등의 가상교육 학습시스템의 컨텐츠로 활용 가능할 뿐만 아니라 점차 확대되고 있는 공학인증시스템에 도입되어 발전가능하다.

  • 본 논문은 멀티미디어의 특성을 활용하여 초등학교 5학년의 음악과 전 영역을 멀티미디어 CAI로 설계하고 구현함으로써 음악에 대한 기초개념과 악곡에 대한 이해와 관심을높이고 학습자에 대한 개별학습과 교수-학습의 효율성을 높이고자 하였다. 이에 따라서 멀티미디어 CAI에 관한 이론을 탐색하고 CAI의 설계원리 및 교과의 특성을 고려하여 Hannafin와 Peck이 제안한 코스웨어 설계모형을 모델로 하였다. 설계모델에 따라 교육과정을 분석하여 멀티미디어 적용요소를 추출하였으며 저작환경에 적합한 스토리보드 형식을 작성하였다. CAI 코스웨어 설계모형에 준거하여 객체지향적이고 상호대화적인 접근을 가능하도록 멀티미디어 디렉터를 도구로 사용하였다. 본 CAI 프로그램은 멀티미디어(Text, Image, Graphic, animation, sound)를 활용하여 주의집중과 동기유발을 높혔고 특히 가창, 기악, 창작, 감상, 이론적 내용, 형성평가의 모든 음악적 영역을 교육과정의 내용에 일치시켜 충실한 교수-학습이 이루어지게 하여 모든 교사의 현장수업에 대한 부담감을 감소시켰다.

  • 본 연구는 u-Campus 환경에서 교수능력(teaching skill)을 향상시키기 위한 평가시스템을 설계하고 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 수업효율성과 교수평가에 관한 이론을 고찰하고, 선행 프로그램들을 분석하여 시스템에 포함되어야 할 효율적인 수업행동 평가요소를 추출하였다. 추출된 평가요소를 바탕으로 u-Campus 환경에서 교수능력(teaching skill)을 향상을 위한 요소 즉, 교수-학습활동, 교수-학습활동 평가, 포트폴리오 활용 및 공유, 유비쿼터스 기술, 데이터베이스 영역을 반영하여 시스템을 설계하고 프로토타입(proto type)을 개발하였다. 그리고 이러한 프로토타입(proto type)의 개발은 기존의 평가 방법과 달리 교수 자신의 평가에서 시작하여 본인의 의지에 따라 영역을 넓히면서 평가에 대한 부담을 덜며 교수능력(teaching skill)을 향상시킬 수 있고, u-Campus 환경에서 평가가 어떠한 과정과 방법으로 이루어져야 하는지에 대한 안내를 제공할 것이다. 본 연구가 제시한 u-Campus 환경의 교수능력(teaching skill) 향상을 위한 평가시스템은 교수자의 발전은 물론 대학교육의 질적인 발전에 도움이 될 것이다.

An Analysis of the Flipped Learning Activities by the Activity Theory (활동이론 관점에서 플립러닝 수업활동 분석)

  • This study is intended to analyze flipped classroom learning activities, which have recently been spotlighted as a learner-centered teaching method in universities, from the perspective of cultural and historical activity theory. A survey and some participation observations were conducted with one professor and the students who participated in Educational Methods and Technology courses at A university. The components of the flipped classroom learning activities were analyzed based on the model of the activity system, and contradictions that appeared in the interactions between components were analyzed. Four implications were proposed for a more advanced flipped classroom learning activity system: the professor's and the learners' true identity recognition and role performance, strengthening the organic link between online and offline activities, support for alleviating the burden of teaching and learning preparation, and readjusting the system to support its smooth operation.

  • Recently rapid changes in the industrial environment require new talents in companies. Flipped learning is drawing attention as an effective teaching-learning method. The existing traditional lecture teaching-learning method have various problems that the dropout rates of the student is high and the creative problem solving ability is hindered. In the case of the IT engineering college, most of the major theoretical courses require prior learning of the prerequisite coursework subjects. Therefore, effective teaching-learning methods must be developed to improve student participation and academic achievement. This paper proposes the flipped learning model consisting of five sets that combine the flipped learning and practice to improve student motivation and self - directed learning. Also, this paper analyzes the learning effect by applying it to the algorithm lecture of computer engineering and presents problem and utilization plan according to the result.

Effects on Mathematical Thinking Ability of Mathematising Learning with RME -Based on measurement region for fifth grade in elementary school- (RME를 적용한 수학화 학습이 수학적 사고능력에 미치는 효과 -초등학교 5학년 측정 영역을 중심으로-)

  • This study is intended to establish and apply a program created with RME for mathematising instruction and learning and identify how it influences on the mathematical thinking process in the field. In order to deal with this study inquiries, related theories have been analyzed establishing a program for mathematising instruction and learning method based on a model of them and RME theory principles and re-organizing education courses for instruction on the fields concerned. Study subjects were limited to two classes consisting of fifth graders in S elementary school located in the city of Daegu and divided them in an experiment group and a control group. An experiment group was given a mathematising learning method applied with RME, while a control group had a class with regular methods of learning and instruction during the period of experiment. As a summary of aforementioned results of the study, mathematising learning method applied with RME had an effect on improving mathematical thinking ability for students and also on promoting mathematising outcome through a repetitive experience in each procedure obtained on a regular basis.

The Cognitive Psychological Study of the Geographical Concept Development and Learning (지리개념의 발달과 학습에 대한 인지심리학적인 고찰)

  • This study is to find a theoretical basis for the effective teaching-learning of the geographical concept through comparing two cognitive pshychological perspectives: Piaget's cognitive development stage theory and Vygotsky's theory with higher mectal function and zone of proximal development(ZPD). Piaget't theory of cognitive development stage has been empirically proved in the spatial concept development and provided a basis for geographical educational psychology. In spite of this contribution, it has its own limitation in that students cannot learn cocepts beyond their cognitive development stage. On the other hand, Vygotsky supposed that concept development has been done by teaching-learning. This study suggests that Vygotsky's theory gives more comprehensive thoretical basis for its effective teaching-learning about the geographical concept development.
