Earthquake and Geophysical Observatory Network by Korea Meteorological Administration and Future Plan (기상청 지진 및 지구물리 관측망 구축 현황과 향후 계획)

  • 기상청은 2008년 현재 전국에 107개의 디지털 지진관측망을 운영하고 있다. 또한 지진관측 유관기관인 한국지질자원연구원, 한국원자력안전기술원, 한전전력연구원에서 각 기관의 목적에 맞게 지진관측소를 운영하고 있으며, 이들 지진관측자료의 공유를 목적으로 실시간으로 통합하는 통합지진과측망(KISS)을 2000년에 구축하여 지진분석에 쓰이고 있다. 한반도의 지진발생 현황은 1978년부터 2007년까지 776회로 약 26회/년 정도가 발생하였다. 최근 중국의 쓰촨성과 일본 이와테 지진으로 지진 및 지진예지에 대한 국민적 관심이 대두되고 있다. 한반도에서도 큰 규모의 지진이 발생할 가능성에 대비해 기상청에서는 지진관측망과 지진예지 목적의 지구물리관측망을 구축 중에 있다. 지구물리관측망은 INTERMAGNET에서 등록할 수 있는 수준의 관측소를 목표로 인위적인 자기장의 교란이 적은 지질학적인 요소들을 고려한 후보지 선정을 위하여 지구자기업무에 관한 기획연구(서만철 2007)를 수행 하였다. 그 결과 국가 중심 지구자기관측소의 위치는 충남 공주시와 청양군 사이에 있는 칠갑산 지역이 가장 좋은 후보지라고 제안하여 청양지역을 주변으로 국유림 및 군유지를 조사하여 충남 청양군 장평면 화산리 산 36-2번지에 후보지를 선정하여 최적의 입지 조건을 검증하기 위해 인천교육대학교의 이휘순 교수 MT탐사를 수행 주변의 배경잡음을 측정하여 양호한 조건을 갖춘 것으로 확인되었다. 지구자기관측소에는 Fluxgate Magnetometer 1대, Total field Magnetometer 1대, Theodolite 1대, SP(Self Potential) Monitoring system 1대와 장비들을 보호 할 수 있는 관측소가 설치될 예정이다

Document Management System using XML/EDI in Education Web (교육망에 XML/EDI를 도입한 문서 관리 시스템)

  • Public and private schools have close relationship with education-related organizations and they have exchanged formal documents to communicate each other. Introducing the XML/EDI used in electronic-commerce to the education web will make a great benefit for decreasing affairs in educational administration. In this paper, we implement a document management system using XML/EDI. This system makes it possible to treat documents which are not supported in current education-information-exchange system and can be added to the current system without any additional modification. We analyze the documents used in the current system and implement new types of tags suitable for education web. In addition, we difine new documents and DTD using only XML without any application software. This will have effects on reducing teacher's administrative work and enable teachers to concentrate on their teaching.

A study on core competence of dental hygiene based on learning outcomes for establishing dental hygiene education evaluation and certification system (치위생학교육평가·인증체계 정립을 위한 학습성과기반 치위생 핵심역량에 관한 조사)

  • This study conducted to investigate the core competency of dental hygiene based on learning outcomes for establishing an educational evaluation and certification system for dental hygiene. The sub-categories of core competencies, the overall score of professional behavior and ethical decision-making ability (category 1) and the ability to apply scientific and professional clinical hygiene and knowledge and skills of clinical dental work (category 2) was highest. and the level of communication skills (category 3) was 4.48 points, and the level of evidence-based integrated thinking and problem solving skills (category 5) was 4.35 points. Furthermore, there was a strong correlation between the core competency sub-categories, and it is necessary to identify the core competency between health care service occupations and to qualitatively study the core competency of dental hygienists working in clinical practice.

  • Since mid-1990s, demands for programmer have been decreasing, and the experts of planning IT strategy and solving overall management issues with IT have been increasingly needed. IS experts would have many different types of job as time passes, and they need variety of job competencies to meet their career paths. The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential careers to suit MIS major and the needed skills in that field to develop MIS Curriculum. We asked to the personnel working in the IS organization and user departments to evaluate the current MIS curriculum of 4 year colleges in Korea and to let us know what jobs are the most important for them, what the core job competencies for them are. The results of study show that there are several courses the users and IS experts regard as core courses: Introduction to Management, Project Management, Introduction to MIS, DBMS, ERP, Systems Development Methodology, and IS Strategy Planning. IS experts regard the data and application integration, IT evaluation and strategic planning as the important jobs, and the most important job competency to conduct those jobs is the category of interpersonal skills, and business management knowledge, IT skills are succeeded.

Perception Difference on the Accounting Officer Competence among Accounting Educators, Accounting Officers and CEOs (회계교육자, 회계담당자 및 경영자의 회계담당자 역량에 대한 인식차이)

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution when ICT and convergence are emphasized, companies want talented people with a wide range of complex problem solving competencies, system competencies as well as major knowledge. This study examined the difference in perceived competency needed for future accounting officers using 166 valid questionaries prepared with 4 factors based on previous researches. The result shows that the workers, who majored in accounting and have more than 5 years of company experience, and the CEOs think the social competence is the most important while the accounting professors think the major competence is the most important qualification. These results indicate that, in order to reflect the industrial needs, the colleges should change their accounting major curriculums to provide various competences such as the social competence in addition to the basic major competence.

The Study on Read-write Education Method to Improve the Communication Ability for the Petty officer Majoring Students in Community Colleague (의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 부사관과의 읽기-쓰기 연계 교육방안)

  • The goal of this study is to look deeper into a read-write education method for improving communication abilities of petty officer majoring students in community colleague level. The read-write education method improves reading and writing abilities at the same time. Therefore, the read-write education method is modified to a 'read-write-correction' education method and the method is planed proper ways to run the course of the education. A writing report class method which is based on 'read-write' education method is the key process of this education. the education method suggests directions of a taking memo and a guideline of summarizing from the reading part, and the directions of a taking memo and a guideline of summarizing are used on report writings class from the writing part of the 'read-write' education method. The correction part of the education method is controlled by instructors under a process of the 'read-write-correction.' The read-write education method by using the report writing helps to improve communication abilities in work fields because the report writing is based on utilizing document formats that can be used future in petty officer work filed. For the last, the study mentions a proposal for further tasks on this field of the study.

A Narrative Research on Occupational Identity of a TVET Teacher Using the Project Method in Programming Fields (프로젝트법을 활용하는 프로그래밍분야 직업능력개발훈련교사의 직업정체성 내러티브 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to discover the occupational identity by examining the narrative of the life of a TVET teacher using the project method in programming fields. Teacher S, a participant in the study, started as a part-time lecturer at university and has been teaching programs for the past 20 years. As a result, six kinds of occupational identities of a programming teacher who teach by project method were found. S experienced pride and pride as a teacher through the project method. The project method served as a motive for continuous self-development to lead S to an expert. His experience as a positive teacher made him wish to maintain this life and live as a teacher as long as his health permits, even after retirement. This study has significance in exploring the structure of the occupational identity of a TVET teacher using the project method in programming fields, which have not been studied yet.

A Study on Elementary School Teachers' Needs for Access Points for Picture Books (초등학교 교사의 그림책 접근점 요구에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' needs for access points when searching for picture books to be used as teaching media, and suggest ways to improve DLS(Digital Library System) in school libraries. To achieve this purpose, the study examined the access points provided by OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog) systems in seven domestic and foreign libraries. In addition, it conducted an online survey with elementary school teachers, and a total of 220 responses were finally analyzed. It was found that the most needed access points were topic, grade/age, content, subject/chapter, and cross-curricula learning topics, etc. Based on the results, this study suggests providing the most needed access points in DLS, developing controlled vocabulary tools, and improving system functions or the interface to enhance accessibility to picture books.

The Education System for Cytotechnologists and Efforts to Improve Professionalism in the United States of America (미국 세포병리사 양성 교육제도와 전문성 향상을 위한 노력)

  • The path to becoming a cytotechnologist (also known as a cytologist) in the United States of America (USA) requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree and the completion of a training program certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Aspirants are recognized as cytologists after passing a test administered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification on completion of a recognized cytotechnology training program. Cytotechnology training programs are currently provided by 18 universities and hospitals. Six of them provide master's level education, unifying existing programs to the master's level, which is necessitated due to a shortage of pathologists and the rapid development of the health care system. The improvement and unification of the curriculum, qualification renewal system, and the effort to change the title of qualified personnel from cytotechnologist to cytologist are seen as measures that would strengthen the capabilities of cytotechnologists as well as assist in keeping pace with the rapidly changing medical system. Knowledge about the educational courses available for cytotechnologists and the efforts to strengthen their expertise in the USA would be helpful to professors who guide students preparing for overseas employment and seeking professional improvement in Korea.

Study on Clinical Dental Hygiene in Korea Based on Analysis of Clinical Dental Hygiene Curriculum of Fones School in the United States (미국 폰즈스쿨의 임상치위생학 교육과정 분석을 통한 국내 임상치위생학 교육과정에 관한 고찰)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze in depth the standardized Clinical dental hygiene curriculum of the Fones School in the United States. We investigated the clinical dental hygiene curriculum in 2015~2016 including title, credit, hours, contents, goals, competencies, and evaluation. We obtained the course syllabus and data related to each subject, for each grade, from the professors and students at the university. The goals and competencies, of the clinical dental hygiene program, which were based on the goals of the Fones School and the mission of the University of Bridgeport, were developed in accordance with the dental hygienist practice standards proposed by the American Dental Hygienists Association. The curriculum consisted of theory to teach proper dental hygiene care procedures and incorporated practical exercises that modeled an actual clinical setting. The students had to document the procedures performed for each client/patient and improve their clinical competency through discussion with the professors. Dental hygiene care should be provided for children, adolescents, adults, elderly, and patients, which includes patients with moderate or severe periodontal status. Students were evaluated by a paper test or case study presentation and their clinical evaluation was based on their clinical competency. In particular, professors evaluated students on a rotational basis, so they could evaluate the level of achievement of clinical competency of all students and find ways to improve any weaknesses. Therefore, the current study suggested that clinical dental hygiene program in Korea could be improved if based on the curriculum of Fones School in the United States.
