  • The purpose of this study is to develop a coaching model which can enhance teaching ability of lifelong educator. To achieve this purpose, this study verifies and analyzes several documentary records related with diverse teaching capabilities, operation reality and coaching method run by lifelong educator. Furthermore, an in-depth interview about teaching capability was undertaken for field experts who have worked at the institutions of lifelong education for more than 10 years. As a result, the study could develop a coaching model to identify teaching capability of lifelong educator by conducting matrix analysis. First, according to the documentary studies, the paradigm for lifelong education has been shifted to centralize learner's demand with the advent of 4th industrial revolution and it suggests coaching capability which could enhance educator's capability should come first. A lifelong educator should have capabilities including identification of vision and goal, creation of mission declaration, development of coaching skill and procedure, management of crisis and coaching capability as an expert in the lifelong education field. Second, a model which can centralize learners could be developed for lifelong teaching capability by adopting a teaching capability suggested by field experts, According to the experts, it is essential to develop a program model to acquire professional knowledge, communication capability, understanding of adult learner, personal relations capability. If there is a model which can develop such capabilities, it is able to strengthen lifelong teaching capability to focus on learner's demand, mainly adult learners, a major consumer of the field. Third, a coaching model to enhance teaching capability for an educator is to acquire and implement sufficient step-by-step teaching capability which has been suggested from a procedure comprised of entrance, progress, critique and return. This, present study suggests, after the critique, a lifelong educator oneself can newly develop and extend a teaching capability basis on pursuing teaching capability as a lifelong educator through the return process.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a small group direct instruction program in order to reach the level of numbers and operations required for slow learners in the second grade of elementary school. Method: The study selected 16 slow learners from 212 students in J and C elementary schools in J city. The study applied a 47-session small group direct instruction program to slow learners. The result processing was analyzed through the effect value verification and visualized by graphs, and the change trend was examined. Results: First, small group direct instruction was effective in improving the numbers and operations ability of slow learners. Second, according to the degree of improvement of numbers and operations ability after the intervention, it was possible to classify slow learners into three types. Conclusion: It was found that a small group direct instruction was effective in reaching numbers and operations levels required for slow learners at the grade level. However, it was also found that the intensive long-term tier 2 intervention was needed for slow learners who did not reach their grade level.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the basic design principles for the engineering mathematics teaching model that supported college students to become collaborative problem solvers. For this purpose, the following four design principles were drawn from the steps of systems approach, especially with consideration of needs of engineering students, professors, curriculum and relevant research on mathematical education. As a result, the four design principles for the engineeering mathematics teaching model were drawn as follows: (1) Improve students' basic mathematical learning abilities through repetition and elaborative practice of the basic mathematical concepts and principles, (2) Develop students' problem solving abilities through collaborative projects or learning activities with peers, (3) Facilitate students' reflection and provide teacher's monitoring and prompt feedback during their learning process, and (4) Build up online learning environments that enable students to become self-regulated learners.

  • This study examines the perceptions and demands of pre-service early childhood teachers about the Demonstration of simulated instruction for 350 students in early childhood education at 3-4 years university located in Busan, Ulsan, and Gimhae. And through this, the purposes of study are to provide basic data based on the current level of pre-school teachers for instructors leading simulated instruction and to seek effective management plans for simulated instruction to improve teaching ability. As a result of the study, pre-service early childhood teachers recognized that simulated instructions were necessary in teacher training course and helped to improve teaching ability, but they did not actively agree to expand simulated instructions and were not very satisfied with the methods of instructors in demonstration of simulated instruction. They wanted to receive feedback from instructors who have practical teaching knowledge and skills based on field experience at least two times during preparation stage and evaluation stage of the simulated instructions. And they wanted to be guided specifically on principles and methods of preparing educational plans, effective interactions and questions with young children. They wanted the feedback, the most preferred form of feedback is form of participations by all class members and instructors. In addition to instructor's feedback, they required experience of simulated instruction in which infants and toddlers participate together.

  • This study aims to identify users' perceptions and needs to improve college teaching spaces in nursing education, and thus derive improvement measures. Therefore, group interviews (three to five participants per category) were conducted with professors (7), students (9), and administrative staff (8) at a college of nursing located in Seoul. All interviews were conducted face-to-face, with each interview taking approximately 60-90 min. The interview results were analyzed for professors, students, and administrative staff separately. The following implications were drawn by synthesizing the interview results for each group: (1) the physical environment and quality of interaction between professors and students need to be improved in order to enhance the quality of teaching and learning; (2) a well-designed practice environment that allows students to practice various skills with confidence needs to be provided; (3) classrooms need to be configured and arranged in a way that is appropriate the nursing curriculum and educational activities to maximize learning effectiveness; (4) spatial restructuring is necessary in terms of living and resting spaces to help nursing students manage stress and provide them with psychological stability; and (5) administrative support reflecting the nursing curriculum is needed in establishing classroom assignment criteria and space use regulations. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for further research were discussed.

  • According to social change, entrepreneurship education at university is drawing attention as a means to cultivate convergent creative competency required by the times. Currently, the number of entrepreneurship education at university is increasing every year, and quantitative expansion is taking place, but quality advancement of education remains a task. In this context, this study conducted an action research with the aim of revitalizing entrepreneurship education and upgrading quality, and developing a entrepreneurship education program suitable for general elective courses operated by universities. In the process of the study, first, through literature analysis related to entrepreneurship education at university, educational contents and teaching methods of entrepreneurship education were confirmed. Based on this, the IPA analysis was used to analyze the educational needs of students for entrepreneurship education contents and design a program that reflects this. The designed program was applied and operated to the entrepreneurship education of A University, and improvements were derived and improved by analyzing the opinions of learners in the action research process. The entrepreneurship education program developed through this study was composed as follows. The necessity of entrepreneurship education at the beginning of the lecture is sufficiently presented, and the knowledge necessary for start-up, including idea discovery and business model design, is delivered through theoretical lectures by teacher-centered method. In the second half of the lecture, students with similar interests are gathered into teams and learner-centered practical activities are operated. The contents of the activities include information on idea discovery, business model design, business plan and pitching. Practical activities for each team are conducted during class hours, and the professor advice on difficulties for each team.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the learners' satisfactions of the video conferencing for global engineering education and provide the implications for effective video conferencing. This study analyzed the learners' satisfactions on their participation in the video conferencing. We conducted a questionnaire survey with 132 subjects who studied in the video conferencing universities, and performed interviews with 27 learners. The results include learners wanted to have more practical themes to satisfy their interests; faculty roles among domestic professors and abroad professors should be specified: distance learners should be guided to have diverse interactions among themselves. The implications are explored for the future study and video conferencing practices.

  • To develop the contents making profit, we propose the program operation methods that can apply the needs of students and the demand of the times, and consider the capacity of the operating agency overall. First, we suggest the distance training motivation, the effective content type, appropriate interaction ratio, the effective teaching and learning methods and the assessment methods. Second, we suggest the development strategy of educational contents, assess quantitative the demand of students and the will of teacher overall, measure the potential success. Third by applying the strategies in the educational field, we product the 12 major development field. These fields are divided into categories A and B, category A is the very high success field and category B is the high potential success field. By applying the proposed strategy, You will select the most suitable contents here and now.
