Assessing Technology Leadership Perception of Teachers in Digital Textbook Utilizing Schools (디지털교과서 활용 학교 교사의 테크놀로지 리더십 인식수준 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to define the teachers' perception for technology leadership when utilizing the Digital Textbook (DT). The subjects of this study were 97 elementary school teachers (40 males and 57 females) working in digital textbook research schools that implemented digital textbooks in 2009. Needs assessment instrument was revised based on previous instruments. Perception was calculated using Borich formula. According to the results, teachers of digital textbook research schools recognized 'teachers' instructional methods' as the most important area, while the least recognized area was 'support by the school'. The highest technology leadership needs by categories included 'role setting between members when implementing digital textbooks', 'instructional methods to cultivate creativity when using digital textbooks', 'troubleshooting digital textbook problems', 'additional staff support in case of problems', 'development of various assessment tools for measuring the effect of the digital textbook', and 'support of digital textbook resources for students with disabilities'. Based on these results, the study proposed specific methods to enhance technology leadership for the successful introduction of digital textbooks in schools.

Relationship among Teacher's Transformational Leadership, Trust and Empathic Understanding and Children's Learning Motivation (교사의 변혁적 리더십, 교사신뢰, 공감적 이해수준 및 아동의 학습동기와의 관계 : 초등학교 고학년을 대상으로)

  • This study examined influences of teacher's transformational leadership, and their trust and empathic understanding on children's learning motivation. Participants were 513 $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ graders from Seoul, Buchon and Inchon. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results showed that (1) Teacher's transformational leadership, trust and empathic understanding were positively related to children's learning motivation. (2) Teacher's transformational leadership was the strongest predictor for children's learning motivation. (3) Teacher's transformational leadership had a direct influence on children's learning motivation empathic understanding mediated between teacher's transformational leadership and children's learning motivation.

Influence of Arts High School Dance Teacher's Servant Leadership Affects Dance, involvement and the Performance Result (예술고등학교 무용교사의 서번트리더십이 무용전공 고등학생의 전공몰입 및 공연성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has been performed to investigate what influences affect dance, involvement and the performance result of the arts high school students majoring in dance, purposed to confirm the result of the subject by inputting servant leadership as an independent variable. To achieve such purpose the hypothesis was verified on the basis of the data of 219 students majoring in dance of the arts high schools located in Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongnam-do and Jeollabuk-do. The statistical method to verify the hypothesis was based on regression analysis, particularly significance level was placed at ${\alpha}$=.05 to verify the hypothesis. The results are as follows. First, dance teacher's servant leadership positively affects dance and involvement of arts high school students majoring in dance, particularly devotion and service were verified to be useful variables. Second, dance teacher's servant leadership positively affects the performance result of arts high school students majoring in dance, particularly vision offer, devotion and service were verified to be useful variables. Third, the study proves the performance result could get greater as the arts high school students majoring in dance takes bigger attention in dance and involvement.

The Effect of Role Conflict, Self Leadership on Teacher's Psychological Welfare (보육교사의 역할갈등, 셀프 리더십이 심리적 복지에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effects of childcare teachers' role conflict and self leadership on psychological welfare. 64 day care centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were selected as its subjects and correlations and multiple regression analysis were conducted for 260 childcare teachers from the day care centers. The results of this study were as below. First, in terms of the relationships between childcare teachers' role conflict, self-leadership and psychological welfare, it has been shown that correlations of role stress, role ambiguity, action orientedness, constructive thought, and positive welfare were found in all sub-areas except for the sub-variables of natural reward and negative welfare, whereas correlations of role ambiguity, action orientedness, positive welfare were found also in all sub-areas except for the same sub-variables above. Second, after conducting multiple regression analysis, it has been noted that the variables that affected psychological welfare the most were natural reward followed by role ambiguity and role stress, whereas no statistical significance was found in all other sub-variables.

The Satisfaction and View of Elementary and Secondary School Leaders Participated in the In-service Training for Creative Leadership (창의 미래교육 리더십 강화 직무연수에 참여한 초·중등학교 관리자의 만족도 및 효과성 분석)

  • Though school leaders play a crucial role in encouraging the creative school environment, culture, and system that might improve the creative competencies of teachers, there has been little attention to the creative leadership of school supervisors. In this paper, we provide the satisfaction and view of elementary and secondary school leaders who were involved in professional development training for enhancing creative leadership. Using one-way ANOVA and qualitative data coding, we analyze the survey responses from the 67 in-service principals and vice-principals during three different training periods as 2020-I, 2020-II, and 2021-I. We present and compare the result on their satisfaction in terms of satisfaction regarding the process, administrative supports, and optional programs among the training. Next, we explore how the school administrators think the creative leadership training and proposal for its improvement. Based on the feedback for these stakeholders, further studies need to steadily enhance the professional development training for creative leadership and practical program contents.

Discrepancy between the Perception and Reality of early Childhood Educators Regarding Creative Competency of the early Childhood Education Institutions (유아교육기관의 창의적 역량에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 실행 간 차이)

  • This research studies the discrepancy between the perception and reality of the early childhood educators regarding the creative competency of the early childhood education institutions, and the differences stemming from the background characteristics of the educators. Subjects were 114 early childhood educators drawn from kindergartens in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province. 180 questionnaires were delivered through physical visit or mail to the institutions. The collected data were analyzed using t-tests, one-way ANOVA and the Scheffe post hoc test, and the result is as thus. Firstly, the discrepancy between the perception and the reality of the educators was significantly different in all sub-domains. Secondly, The discrepancy between the perception and reality, according to the background characteristics, showed significantly different in the following domains: according to the position of the educators, in some sub-domains of autonomy; according to the academic background, in some sub-domains of the leadership; according to the career of the educators, in some sub-domains of diversity; and according to the age of the educators, in some sub-domains of diversity and leadership.

A Study on the Leaderships for Development of School Library in Korea (현단계 우리 학교도서관 발전의 리더십에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate leaderships for development of school library in Korea at the present developmental state. The writer discusses three kinds of leadership : field leadership, administrative leadership, and academic leadership. Each leaderships, for continuous and stable development of school library In Korea, are needed to be enhanced. Especially, establishment of the academic leadership is indispensible to initiate the development of school library in Korea.

  • The study aimed to define the paths through which director's servant leadership, childcare center teacher's organizational committment and organizational cynicism affected teacher's organizational citizenship behavior and determined their effects. The subjects for this study were 545 teachers of the childcare centers located in Daegu and Kyoungbuk district. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 8.0. The results showed 1) The director's servant leadership, teacher's organizational committment and organizational cynicism influenced directly on organizational citizenship behavior. 2) The director's servant leadership influenced directly on teacher's organizational committment and organizational cynicism. 3) The director's servant leadership influenced indirectly on organizational citizenship behavior by teacher's organizational committment and organizational cynicism.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine early childhood teachers' importance and performance of technology leadership. A survey was conducted on 205 early childhood teachers. Borich's needs model was used to calculate their needs. In the area of director leadership and vision, the early childhood teachers felt the most need for opportunities to participate in conferences or training programs related to the educational utilization of technology. In the area of teaching-learning methods, they called the most for better ways to take advantage of technology considering the characteristics of the activity areas and activity types. In the area of teaching professionalism, the items they asked for the most were building confidence over the educational utilization of technology and case studies of superior teaching and learning. In the area of institutional support, they felt the most need for assistant human resources who could assist in solving possible problems using technology. In the area of evaluation, they called the most for the development of a variety of evaluation tools and methods. Finally, the item they called for the most in the area of social, ethical, and legal support from the institutions to which they belonged was the preparation of guidelines on how to be in good health in times of using technology.

The Effect of Principals' Transformational Leadership on Efficacy of Teachers in Day Care Centers: A Focus on the Mediating Effect of Collective Efficacy of Teachers (시설장의 변혁적 리더십이 보육교사의 교사효능감에 미치는 영향: 보육교사의 집단적 효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examined the relationships among principals' transformational leadership, collective efficacy and efficacy of teachers based on the survey data from 196 teachers working in day care centers in the Incheon and Gyeonggi-do areas. These valuables were all measured by teachers. The collected data were analyzed by Simple Regression and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. The main results of this study were as follows. First, principals' transformational leadership had positive effects on collective efficacy and efficacy of teachers. Second, collective efficacy of teachers had a positive influence on efficacy of teachers. Finally, the effects of principals' leadership on efficacy of teachers was totally mediated by collective efficacy of teachers. Most importantly, the collective efficacy of teachers totally mediated the positive relation between principals' leadership and the individual efficacy of teachers.
