In this study, we intended to present a class design plan that combines safety education and software education, which are very important in the school field, but are considered necessary for change. In order to realize safety education centered on indirect experience, the 12th class plan was devised as a "Smart Safety Commuter Road Production Project" using a physical computing tool called Bitbrick. Based on the 12th city's class plan, qualitative research was conducted with interviews with a total of five teachers, showing both the effectiveness and problems of applying them to the class. The effectiveness is that unlike conventional delivery-type safety education, indirect experience-oriented safety education centered on real-life situations is possible, and it can be expected that procedural thinking skills can be developed along with stimulating interest. However, the problem has been shown that the process of implementing the direct situation can be challenging and that even activities can be more efficient than group activities.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the most rational method of grouping peers to understand the impact of peer relationship on individual development of elementary school students. For the study, students at a class of the 3rd year(male) and a class of the 4th(female) year at elementary schools in Busan and Ulsan were surveyed to see the differences between various methods of classification of peer relation subgroup on the basis of cooccurence of perception data and psychological preference data. Two questionnaires were used; a questionnaire of perception and a questionnaire of psychological preference. With the perception data, value of sharing relationship was applied to classify peer relation subgroup and with the psychological preference data, interest relationship was expanded to classify peer relation subgroup of more than third party relationship. The result of this study showed that in the case of girls, there was high congruency between the classifications of peer relation subgroup by perception data and by preference data, whereas in the case of boys, there was difference between the classifications of peer relation subgroup by perception data and by preference data, which implies that boys can form a peer group even if there is psychological difference among members but girls can form a peer group only when there is psychological preference among them. Such a result shows that there is difference between boys and girls in the process of forming peer relationship. It is suggested that comparison of fitness be made between classification of peer relation subgroup by a homeroom teacher, by perception data and by psychological preference for rational classification of peer relationship among male children.
The purpose of this study was to validate Preschool Child Observation Record-II developed by High/Scope for Korean preschool children. The subjects of the study were 255 children aged three to six attending child care centers and their head teachers. They were observed for at least two months and completed the Korean version of Child Observation Record-II(K-COR-II). K-COR-II consisted of six categories and 32 items which had five-level-rubrics. The results from an exploratory factor analysis identified one dimension of the scale, there was no evidence of discriminant validity even after face validity was examined. The concurrent validity and internal consistency of the revised scale were relatively high. Also, the mean between the upper and lower groups with regard to item discrimination showed significant difference. It was concluded that K-COR-II can be used as a valid and reliable instrument to various aspects of preschool children's development.

This study compared the perceptions of children and their mothers of the effects of school lunch programs on the children's dietary behaviors in elementary schools. Questionnaires were answered by 425 elementary school students and their 412 mothers in the Busan area. The results indicated: The school lunch program had positive effects on children's dietary behaviors such as understanding healthy meals, correcting unbalanced diets, snack intake, attitude toward the meal, table manners, and table hygiene. However, there were still some negative habits in the home related to snack time, reading books or watching television during mealtime, eating foods before seniors have started. The gender of the children and whether the mothers worked or not produced no significant differences (in most cases). Still mothers more positively perceived the effect of school lunch programs on their children's dietary behaviors than did the children themselves. Thus, the school lunch program had positive effects for a balanced diet and making good eating habits. And, therefore, teachers-as well as the dieticians- should actively regard the school lunch program as an educational activity which can produce positive effects for a balanced diet, and make every endeavor to strengthen their relationship with the home.
